Spotify is putting its users’ increased subscription fees to good use.

Over the last few years, the streaming giant has rolled out several new features and updated many existing components. From Daylist, AI playlisting, Duo, and Jams to its TikTok integration, the addition of music videos, and its audiobook-only plan, Spotify has something for every music lover—everything except increasing its payout to artists to a reasonable wage (well, until Congress intervenes).

Even with these fun add-ons, one of the most popular offerings is Spotify Wrapped. The user data-specific feature allows individuals to reflect on their yearly musical consumption. According to reports, Spotify is working on allowing users access to that data on a micro level through its rumored Time Machine feature.

Continue below for more information.

What Is Spotify’s Time Machine Feature?

For clarity, Spotify hasn’t announced a “Time Machine” feature. However, on March 23, Pop Base took to their official X (formerly Twitter) and Threads accounts to fan the flames of the rumor.

The aggregator wrote: “Spotify is reportedly introducing a ‘time machine’ feature that will show users monthly statistics on their most streamed artists, songs, albums, and minutes.”

Again, Spotify hasn’t released any information regarding the alleged new feature or confirmed that something of the sort is even in the works.

Metro Boomin Shares Spotify Wrapped, Thanks Fans For Great Year

Metro Boomin had an extremely busy 2023. Late last year, he released his feature-packed new album Heroes & Villains. The project’s biggest tracks spilled into 2023 where he scored one of the biggest hits of the year with “Creepin’” alongside The Weeknd and 21 Savage. The album did extremely impressive numbers throughout the year placing it among the best-selling rap records of 2023. The project could also end up being an award show darling as it’s nominated for Best Rap Album at next year’s Grammys.

On top of that project, Metro also released an entire soundtrack to the new animated superhero movie Spiderman: Across The Spiderverse. The soundtrack netted even more hits for Metro and his extensive roster of impressive collaborators. He even had the chance to make a brief cameo in the film itself. He also played a role in the curation and assembly of Young Thug’s new album Business Is Business. The currently incarcerated rapper’s project even got a special Metro’s Version re-release. Now he’s reflecting on his massive 2023, check out the post he shared with fans below.

Metro Boomin’s Spotify Wrapped

Metro shared his Spotify Wrapped, a yearly feature the company rolls out for artists and fans to track their listening habits. As you’d expect given the work he put into his output in 2023 his numbers are extremely impressive. On Spotify alone, Metro’s songs were streamed 5.7 billion times by more than 164 million fans. They spent more than 280 million hours combined listening to Metro’s songs this year.

One project Metro Boomin didn’t drop this year is his collaborative effort with Future. Both the rapper and producer have been teasing the project extensively this year and hyping it up as a major affair. It’s unclear when exactly the project is expected to arrive but plenty of fans online are starting to get impatient with all the teases. What do you think of Metro Boomin’s Spotify Wrapped numbers? SZA’s “Kill Bill” Among Bill Nye’s Top Songs Of 2023

Earlier this week, Bill Nye took to social media to unveil his list of top songs of the year from his Spotify Wrapped. Among the engineer’s favorite tracks of 2023 were SZA’s “Kill Bill” and Taylor Swift’s “Karma.” Stealing the No. 1 spot, however, was the theme song to his own show, Bill Nye The Science Guy.

It’s no secret that Nye is a SZA fan, as the two of them were previously spotted in a photo together, which made its rounds online a couple of years back. It even ended up sparking some faux dating rumors, though he’s happily married. Regardless, he’s obviously jammed to “Kill Bill” quite a lot this year based on his Spotify Wrapped.

Bill Nye Unveils His Spotify Wrapped

While it may come as a surprise to some, it seems that nearly nobody can resist the catchy SOS track. He’s not the only one shocking fans with his taste in music, however. SZA recently came through with a few of her own unexpected musical favorites as well. She chatted with Variety earlier this week, revealing that she’s a huge fan of Creed and Nickelback. According to her, they definitely don’t deserve all the hate they receive.

“I like Creed so much — ‘Higher’? Why are you hating on it? Have you ever felt more inspired and uplifted in your life?” she wondered. “I’m in the car and I’m blasting ‘Higher,’ I feel like it’s a gospel song, the vocals are going cr*zy and it’s also somehow slightly romantic, it just feels so fun. Because even if it’s cliche, he’s so f*cking dead a**! I will be a Creed fan forever. Like, it started just on a whim in the shower, ‘Oh, let’s play this,’ and then it became a week of Creed and Nickelback.” What do you think of Bill Nye’s top songs of the year? Are you surprised that SZA made the list? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Spotify Wrapped: Lil Durk Angers User By Taking Over Her Round-Up Despite Not Streaming Him

Lil Durk’s distinct sound isn’t for everyone, but those who love the Chicago native consistently go hard for him. Unfortunately, amid Spotify Wrapped season, the 7220 artist is facing accusations of using streaming farms to boost his numbers after an angry content creator revealed that he completely took over her annual round-up despite her never personally listening to his music from her account. “I am literally so mad right now,” the young woman ranted while sitting in her car.

“Whoever hacked into my Spotify account and listened to Lil Durk for 21,000 f**king hours this year, I hope you rot,” she continued, moving closer to the camera as her rage builds. “You have ruined my entire life!” According to her story, she woke up earlier this week eager to reflect on her year in music but was sadly disappointed when the results didn’t match her expectations. “All I listen to is like, Noah Kahn, and like, Taylor Swift, Just some cute granola stuff with a little bit of SZA sprinkled in there,” the OP explained her usual taste.

Lil Durk Comes Through with a Christmas Surprise

Through tears, she continues, “I wake up this morning to all my top songs, and my only artist being Lil f**king Durk!” At the top of the list is “All My Life” featuring J. Cole, followed by more new titles from the 31-year-old’s Almost Healed album. “I thought I logged into the wrong account like I don’t know. This is not me!” Now that the clip is circulating on social media, others are sharing their similar experiences after allegedly having “some dude in Ukraine” taking over their profile.

Lil Durk may have made several non-consensual appearances on the playlists of Spotify users in 2023, but he still couldn’t top the numbers done by Drake. Thanks to the release of his For All The Dogs album, not to mention his It’s All A Blur Tour, the 6ix God racked up over 11 billion streams on the streaming platform alone. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

The Weekend Tops 12 Billion Streams On Spotify In 2023

Spotify Wrapped season has already given fans a peak at some of the biggest artists in the world and how they performed on Spotify this year. Superstars like Drake and Bad Bunny have shared their extremely impressive streaming numbers already. Spotify itself announced with a series of Billboards all over the world that Taylor Swift was the most-streamed artist on the entire platform this year. Unsurprisingly, the artist who spent much of the first half of the year as the most listened to also has some incredibly impressive numbers.

The Weeknd raked in 12.8 billion streams on Spotify in 2023. Those impressive totals came from 285.2 million different users and added up to 721.7 million hours of listening. Even among impressive numbers from other artists, those are staggering totals. What makes the accomplishment even crazier is that he didn’t even release a new album this year. Compared to all three of his biggest contemporaries Drake, Bad Bunny, and Taylor Swift who did drop new projects. Check out the full report on The Weeknd’s streaming numbers below.

The Weeknd’s Incredible Streaming Totals

Earlier this month, it was officially announced that The Weeknd broke an impressive touring record. Across 30 shows he sold 1.639 million tickets which amounted to a staggering total of $158.1 million. Consequently, that’s the highest total ever achieved by a black artist for a European tour.

Fans expecting to catch the tour at stops in Australia and New Zealand may have to wait longer than anticipated. He was originally scheduled to play 11 shows across the two countries in late November and into December. But in a statement shared recently he explained that due to unforeseen circumstances, the tour dates had to be delayed. The dates haven’t been canceled entirely, just rescheduled into next year, though specific dates are yet to be announced. What do you think of The Weeknd reaching such impressive streaming totals despite not dropping a new album this year? Let us know in the comment section below.

Ice Spice Hilarious Reveals She Is Her Own Most Listened To Artist Of 2023

It’s officially Spotify Wrapped season, the time of year when fans and artists share details on how they streamed music on the platform this year. For fans, it’s an opportunity to show off which songs and artists spoke to them the most this year. As a special treat for 2023 wrapped, Spotify got dozens of popular artists to record messages thanking their biggest fans. But those artists themselves also get Wrapped statistics telling them how much their music was streamed.

It’s pretty common to see major artists sharing the numbers they achieved online. But it’s a lot rarer that artists give an actual sneak peek of the music they were listening to themselves. Enter Ice Spice, who was more than comfortable sharing her listening habits. Among her favorite artists this year were Lana Del Rey, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, and Kali Uchis. But it was her most listened-to artist that had fans cracking up. Her number-one artist of 2023 was none other than herself. Check out her full wrapped post below.

Ice Spice Loved Her Own Music This Year

In addition to your top 5 artists, Spotify Wrapped also shares your 5 most listened-to songs, which Spice also shared with fans. That was even funnier as they were all five tracks that she appears on. “Boys a liar Pt. 2,” “In Ha Mood,” “Princess Diana,” “Munch,” and “Deli” round out her top 5 list.

Ice Spice found herself in the midst of a strange online controversy earlier this year. A video went viral on Twitter of her being handed a drink by a fan and instead passing it off to one of her friends. Her fans online certainly understood why she wouldn’t take a drink from a stranger. But many wondered why, if she was suspicious of the drink, she would hand it off to one of her friends for them to drink. What do you think of Ice Spice being her own most listened-to artist on Spotify this year? Let us know in the comment section below.

Is There A Spotify Wrapped For Apple Music Users?

Happy Spotify Wrapped day! The streaming service dropped its annual recap, providing users with their year-end stats about their most-played songs, artists, podcasts, and many more tidbits of info. However, those who don’t use Spotify, or are new to using Apple Music, might be wondering if the latter gives a Wrapped-like feature to their users, too.

Here’s what to know.

Is There A Spotify Wrapped For Apple Music Users?

While Apple Music does not specifically provide users with a Spotify Wrapped, as they are two competing streaming platforms, the music company does give listeners a year-end stats list titled Apple Music Replay. These were rolled out to their users earlier this week.

These contain the same key points of information, including your Top Artists, Top Songs, and more. While the Apple Music one isn’t quite as colorful as Spotify’s, or features extra details like your listening personality and… which city you would be in this year based on your habits (Burlington or Cambridge?), it does still get the job done.

It also provides you with a similar playlist of all the songs you listened to the most this year, just like Spotify.

Spotify Wrapped 2023 Has Sparked A Hilarious Meme War With Apple Music Users Over Year-End Recap Supremacy

Spotify takes the headlines every year when users receive their annual Wrapped stats. However, considering Apple Music dropped their “Replay” lists for users a few days ago that display essentially the exact same stats, it has created a divide between those who swear allegiance to their chosen streaming path. On social media, users have been not holding back on the memes either.

One user, who was on Apple Music’s side it seems, compared the platform to HBO. And Spotify, well, was Netflix.

Another stepped in to support Spotify, using the Real Housewives Of Atlanta video reaction, where Kandi notoriously accuses Porsha of making things up. “People are really on here trying to say Apple Music is better than Spotify,” they captioned.

Spotify users also felt that the Apple Music crowd, since they already got their Replays earlier this week, shouldn’t be posting their recaps today. This is the Wrapped’s to shine.

And then there are those who, for some reason, don’t have Apple Music or Spotify — but they do have YouTube Music or another streaming service in 2023. They feel even more left in the dust of the conversation.

Burlington? Berkeley? Spotify Wrapped 2023 Is Comparing Users’ Music Tastes To Cities And The Memes Are Glorious

Spotify Wrapped for 2023 is here! Every year, the main idea is the same: Users can open the app to view a presentation highlighting their most-streamed artist, songs, albums, and other takeaways from their years in music. Spotify often tries incorporating a new feature here and there, and one in particular is lighting up social media timelines right now.

Early in the in-app presentation, one slide starts, “This year, your listening took you places, and one place listened just like you.” Using my personal Wrapped as an example, Spotify then compared my listening habits to those of people in Berkeley, California (quite a ways from my home in Portland, Maine), saying, “People there are far more likely to be fans of Vagabon, Petey, and The Japanese House.”

It turns out a lot of people got Berkeley in their Wrapped, and Burlington, Vermont was another popular city. In fact, after Wrapped was unveiled, both of them were trending on X (formerly Twitter) alongside Spotify, and the reactions and memes are pretty great. One Sopranos parody in particular is wonderful:

Cambridge, Massachusetts was also a popular city, and one user joked, “spotify is trying to make a gay commune in berkeley, a lesbian commune in burlington, and a bisexual commune in cambridge”

Check out some more reactions below.

When Does Tracking Start For Spotify Wrapped?

spotify 2023
Spotify

Spotify Wrapped is officially here. Today (November 29), Spotify users received their annual interactive summary of their listening habits, along with fun character and personality assessments.

While some are excited to see their Spotify Wrapped, some are a bit confused about their results. Because of this, they are hoping to get on top of the tracking process and produce more accurate assessments for future editions of Spotify Wrapped.

When does tracking start for Spotify Wrapped?

Tracking begins on January 1, according to various sources. This can also be confirmed by the fact that each Spotify user is told which song they kicked off each year with.

Tracking continues over the course of several months, however, ends at an unknown date toward the end of each calendar year. The date has often been thought to be Halloween, however, Spotify has since confirmed that this isn’t the case.

Spotify remains secretive about the process, however, individual Spotify users are encouraged to share their Wrappeds with their friends. For this year’s Wrapped, Spotify introduced Blend, a feature with allows each Spotify User to combine Wrapped playlists with one or more fellow Spotify users.

Spotify users can see their Wrappeds by opening up the app on their mobile device, or by visiting here.
