D.L. Hughley recently spoke with Jason Lee of Hollywood Unlocked, and their conversation ranged across a lot of topics. However, one of the most salient and notable points of their interview emerged through the topic of DJ Khaled. Moreover, Hughley believes that Khaled has completely and erroneously ignored the conflict between Israel and Palestine that is resulting in all-out war. For those unaware, the We The Best Music mogul’s family is from Palestine, and despite his constant presence on social media, he’s yet to really speak out about this mass and deliberate loss of life in the region with his huge platform.
“So, I’ll see you exalting God when you make a shot,” D.L. Hughley remarked concerning DJ Khaled’s typical social media activity in contrast to what other people are saying about the war in Gaza online. “But I’ll watch a seven-year-old Palestinian boy who is praying to God for the strength to bear that his family had been killed. I’ll watch you pray to not hit a bunker and then I will watch a Palestinian family pray that they can find one.
Then, the stand-up comedian referenced a recent viral video of DJ Khaled’s security guards carrying him over sand so he wouldn’t get his Jordans dirty. “We’re used to Palestinians being carried,” he said. “They’re just not alive. They’re dead and they don’t have shoes, they don’t even have feet. To me, you have gone from DJ Khaled to DJ Callous. You cannot be so oblivious that you forget that the images that you are portraying have an equal and opposite effect. And what it tells people is that if somebody that looks like them doesn’t care, why should you?”
According to CNN, over 32,000 people have died so far in this recent resurgence of the centennial conflict, with the great majority being Palestinian civilians in Gaza. The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Human Affairs posited that 576,000 of Gaza’s residents, a quarter of their population, are “one step away from famine,” with food crises and lack of proper medical care and mobility affecting the entire region. Many in the entertainment world continue to advocate for a ceasefire and to rebuild after this destruction. For more news and updates on D.L. Hughley and DJ Khaled, check back in with HNHH.
DJ Khaled is an avid Jordan collector, even getting his own Retro 5. Recently, Khaled posted a video to his Instagram, showing he was being carried to avoid getting his Retro 3s dirty.
DJ Khaled is once again gearing up to deliver anthems. Hitting Instagram, Khaled teased two new Drake singles as a part of his project “in the works,” vowing the singles will be sung word-for-word.

“Since debuting the Gx platform in 2015, innovations have fueled the brand’s evolution from a sports drink to a fully connected performance and wellness ecosystem. More recently, Gx Collabs first gave Gatorade roster athletes a chance to use Gx bottles as blank canvases for self-expression. We are excited to bring a personalization capability that was once only available to pro athletes to every athlete worldwide. In the future, Gatorade iD will add rewards and broader personalization to become each athlete’s curated corner of the Gatorade universe,” said Gatorade Chief Brand Officer, Anuj Bhasin. “DJ Khaled sits at the intersection of sport, music, entertainment and now, Gatorade culture. We’re extremely excited to partner with him on the launch of Gatorade iD.”

After nearly five years, Netflix has announced the return of Rhythm + Flow for season 2. The first season, which aired in 2019, featured judges Cardi B, Chance The Rapper, and T.I. critiquing a crew of unsigned rappers as they competed for a $250,000 grand prize.
Guest judges on the show included Anderson .Paak, Big Boi, DJ Khaled, Fat Joe, Jadakiss, Killer Mike, Lupe Fiasco, Nipsey Hussle, Quavo, and Snoop Dogg, among others, and the winner, D Smoke, was eventually nominated for three Grammy Awards.
When Does Rhythm + Flow Season 2 Come Out?
Netflix hasn’t revealed when the second season — which was originally scheduled to air in 2021 — will begin streaming on the platform, it has shared a few details, including the new lineup of judges.
The new judges on Rhythm + Flow will include DJ Khaled, moving up from his guest judging duties in season one; Latto, who started her career as the winner of Lifetime’s The Rap Game, making her uniquely suited to the role; and Ludacris, whose rap success has led to an equally successful film career.
One guest judge that has been teased is Eminem, who will oversee the rap battle challenge, playing on his own career as a battle rapper.
More details will be revealed closer to the release date. You can watch season 1 of Rhythm + Flow on Netflix.
Does anyone remember Rhythm + Flow, Netflix’s rap competition series from several years ago? It starred Cardi B, Chance The Rapper, and T.I. as judges and helped launch the indie rap career of Inglewood MC D Smoke, whose debut album Black Habits was nominated for a Best Rap Album Grammy in 2021.
You’d be forgiven for forgetting the show, or for thinking that it had suffered the fate of so many other Netflix originals and been canceled after its first season. After all, the last we heard about a second season was nearly four years ago, and it was supposed to air sometime in 2021, but never did. However, it looks like the show is definitely returning, with Netflix posting the announcement of season 2 on its YouTube page.
It also looks like the show was retooled during its hiatus, bringing a new set of judges in addition to another batch of young rap hopefuls. This season, contestants will be judged by DJ Khaled, Latto (herself a veteran of the comp show circuit), and Ludacris — a decidedly less controversial trio than the original lineup — and special guest judge Eminem, who’ll oversee the rap battle round (naturally).
The grand prize will be $250,000 — enough to launch a career with — and more information will likely be made available soon. You can still check out season 1 here.
Despite all the recent discourse surrounding Hollywood nepo-babies, the public just can’t seem to get enough of famous kids who look identical to their celebrity parents. Watching your favorite actor, rapper, or social media figure grow up and have kids of their own can be quite rewarding. This is especially true when the kids blossom into media figures in the footsteps of their parents, providing a display of generational talent. Here’s a look at 7 kids who could pass for twins with their famous parents.

DJ Khaled’s first born son, Asahd, is a dead ringer for his superstar dad. The young heir to the “I’m The One” fortune was born in 2016, with a younger sister, Aalam born in 2020. Despite his young age, Asahd has his own Instagram page, which touts a massive following of over 1.5 million users. DJ Khaled honored his son by titling his eleventh studio albumFather Of Asahd, with the pair gracing the album’s cover art.
Maya Hawke

Maya Hawke is the child of two famous actors, Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke. The A-list couple first met when filming the 1997 film Gattaca together. Shortly after meeting and falling in love, the pair married, and eventually gave birth to Stranger Things star Maya Hawke. The 25-year-old actor has diversified her media career in recent years, branching out into modeling and singing, and working with a host of acclaimed filmmakers. Rumors have circulated for years that if Quentin Tarantino were to produce a third installment in the Uma Thurman-led Kill Bill film franchise, Maya Hawke would be his first and only choice to portray Thurman’s on-screen daughter.

Kim Kardashian tends to keep her famous kids out of the spotlight when possible, though Saint West has proven to be a mini-Kanye in the making. The pair look alike and share the same distaste for boundary-pushing paparazzi. Kanye even rapped about his resemblance to his son in the 2016 track “No More Parties In LA.” On the song, the rapper states “I be worried ’bout my daughter, I be worried bout Kim, but Saint is baby Ye, I ain’t worried bout him.”

Ava Elizabeth Phillippe proves that her famous mom, Reese Witherspoon, has some of the strongest genes known to mankind. The 24-year-old Internet personality looks so much like a carbon copy of her mother that fans often having trouble discerning them in photos. The pair have a close relationship, often appearing alongside each other in interviews and red carpet events.
Scott Eastwood

These days, Clint Eastwood is prominently recognized for directing and starring in films like Cry Macho, The Mule, and Gran Torino. However, in the early to mid-20th century, the filmmaker was celebrated for his roles as a tough-as-nails hero in numerous spaghetti Western movies. His son, Scott Eastwood, looks about as much like a young Clint as you could possibly imagine. Fans on Scott’s Instagram often confuse his photos for throwback pics of his dad, due to the father and son combo sharing the exact same facial structure and smoldering scowl.

Will and Jada Pinkett-Smith’s famous kids have gone on to become certified stars in their own right in recent years. However, that won’t stop the comparisons between the two singers and their celebrity parents. Fans have remarked throughout the years that Jaden Smith looks exactly like a young Fresh Prince, while Willow bares a striking resemblance to Jada. Many fans were dismayed to learn that Jaden wouldn’t be taking the torch from his movie-star dad when the 2022 reboot of Fresh Prince of Bel-Air was first announced.
O’Shea Jackson Jr.

There is perhaps no better example of a celebrity kid who looks exactly like their famous parent than O’Shea Jackson Jr. In addition to sharing a name with one another, O’Shea Jr. also shares a near-identical visage to his N.W.A. alumnus father, and even portrayed a young Ice Cube in the 2015 biopic Straight Outta Compton. The pair have expressed in interviews and social media posts before that their resemblance is uncanny, allowing for one of the most perfect casting opportunities in film history.
DJ Khaled is in family vacation mode, and it seems like he thought that Barbados would be a great place to celebrate the holiday season. He seems quite right, as new social media videos he shared show a beautiful day at the Caribbean island nation. Not only that, but the We The Best Music mogul took some time to pass through his frequent collaborator Rihanna’s childhood neighborhood. There, he spoke to locals and remarked how special it was to “breathe the same air” she breathed in her youth and witness where she flies kites. Overall, the New Orleans native seemed appreciative of the opportunity, and their history together indicates how much it means to him.
For example, this is what he had to say to Rihanna before her Super Bowl Halftime Show this year. “RiRi, I love you so much,” DJ Khaled told Page Six. “Congratulations in advance. They changed the name of Super Bowl. It’s called ‘RiRi Super Bowl.’ I’mma have my airhorn ready and I’m going to order me a cheeseburger well done. I’mma sit back, relax, watch the show… come on! It’s Super Bowl! I’m coming as a fan and Rihanna’s my sister. I can’t wait to see it. I’m here to support. We’re all winners.”
Of course, Rihanna may be an international superstar, but she still has very strong ties to her home. Unfortunately, recent news around this is less heartening, as a cousin of hers recently passed away. But for the most part, the superstar singer is more prone to share the beautiful things to find within Barbados and represent it with much pride. She and her boo A$AP Rocky, plus their kids, have really enjoyed their vacations there, and luxuries aside, we wish her family the best amid this difficult time.
Meanwhile, we wonder if Khaled will model for the Bad Gal’s clothing line again, or if they have more songs on the way. Everyone’s begging for new music from her, so we’d happily take any guest verse, chorus, or full song to hold us over for her new album. Hopefully things pan out in 2024. For more news and the latest updates on DJ Khaled and Rihanna, stay up to date on HNHH.
