Then, just a short time before that, he hopped on Playboi Carti’s single “BACKR00MS.” That song is presumedly going to make its way to Carti’s upcoming record, Music.

The Georgia rapper has been dropping track after track on social media and YouTube, sending his fans into a frenzy. Even as elusive as Carti is, the moment he drops anything the Vamps come out in droves to support. That is how you know he remains in high demand. Will Ferrell’s been a lot of things in his movies: an anchorman, an elf, a step-brother, a racer, a figure skater, and much more. We haven’t seen him play the role of a frat DJ before, but that’s okay: he was saving that performance for the real world. Moreover, the Internet recently went wild over a clip of the Barbie star working the boards at a frat party in California, specifically for the University of Southern California’s (USC) Sigma Alpha Mu chapter (go Sammy!). The institution itself was hosting its Trojan Family Weekend, but he went to one of the fraternity’s extracurricular events to have some fun. Not bad for a controversial fashion designer who once sought to assassinate the Malaysian Prime Minister.

Furthermore, as you can expect for the meme factor, the legendary cowbell player had some heat on his USB. He played Survivor’s “Eye of the Tiger,” and most notably, spun Kanye West and Jay-Z’s classic “N***as In Paris.” Given that it contains a sample from Will Ferrell’s film Blades of Glory, it was simply meant to be. It’s no wonder he’s one of hip-hop’s favorite actors, whether due to all the times MCs showed love to him or for his clear proclivity for some party vibes.

He revealed that although his roots are really planted in hip hop, largely due to his father’s influence, he’s decided to forge his own path outside of the genre. Young then describes being exposed to EDM by a friend as a teenager, saying that the rest was history.

He later went on to pursue EDM as a career option in his late 20s. “And now we’re here,” he explains. “Making moves out in Europe, pushing.” Luckily for Young, his father is in full-support of his career. “He started in EDM to be honest,” he says. “So, he’s skilled in his own right, for sure. But, I’ve kind of just been taking it in my own hands.”

Young says that Dr. Dre is excited about his new EDM venture, but makes it clear that he’s set on creating a path for himself. “All I can do is just push from here,” he also adds. “It may come, it may not. But those perspectives don’t really matter to me, I’m just about the music.” This weekend, Young will be performing his first-ever set in Scotland.

Though Dr. Dre’s son is mixing things up with a career in EDM, the 58-year-old has been calling back to the ’90s lately. Currently, he’s working alongside Snoop Dogg on a follow-up to his 1993 hit debut, Doggystyle. The upcoming LP, Missionary, is set for release sometime this year, though it’s yet to have an official release date. Ice Spice’s Producer Gets Clowned For Setup

Ice Spice is quickly becoming one of the biggest stars in all of music. Over the weekend one of England’s biggest rap fests took place, Wireless Festival in London. Alongside superstars like Playboi Carti, Travis Scott, and Lil Uzi Vert, Spice also performed at the festival. While fans in attendance seemed to enjoy her performance some fans online watching the live stream of the festival noticed something else. One of the rapper’s go-to producers Riot came along to serve as her live DJ. But when an angle of his live set-up was broadcasted to fans they couldn’t believe how minimal it was.

In a tweet accompanied by a picture of his scant DJ table, a fan cracked a joke. “Ice Spice DJ with the least demanding tech rider in Wireless history,” the tweet says. It started to take off online as fans couldn’t believe how little tech Riot had on display compared to a lot of live DJs. The post went even more viral once Riot quote tweeted it with his own response clarifying things. “cs i’m not a dj ,” his response tweet read. Clearly, Riot is more comfortable behind the boards in a recording studio than working the turntables at a festival.

Like many of the biggest girls in hip-hop Ice Spice finds almost everything she does being scrutinized online. She shared some new fit pics with fans from her trip to London for the festival at the start of the weekend. She also sparked some controversy when a video of her during the BET Awards went viral. During a performance celebrating the 50th anniversary of rap, Ice Spice was glued to her phone instead of watching the performance. It sparked a debate among fans about whether not watching the other performers during the show was okay.

While she’s gone viral for posts made online, she’s matched it with tons of success on the charts. She just debuted her Barbie movie soundtrack song “Barbie World” in the top 10 of the Hot 100. T.I. Tells DJ To Play One Of His Hits, He Plays Destiny’s Child Instead

A clip of T.I. has recently gone viral. The video shows him standing on stage with several associates, including DJ Toomp, when he asks the DJ to play one of their hit songs. Instead of honoring the rapper’s request, however, the DJ went on to play the 2004 Destiny’s Child song “Soldier,” which T.I. is featured on. He shouted, “That ain’t one of ’em! That ain’t one of ’em!” Despite the mishap, T.I. went on to rap his 2001 I’m Serious track, “Dope Boyz,” which was produced by DJ Toomp.

Last week, T.I. and his wife Tiny Harris also lost a $100 million lawsuit against MGA Entertainment. The couple was suing the company, claiming that they took inspiration for their doll collection from the girl group OMG Girlz. The group was formed by Harris in 2009. The lawsuit read, “The animated OMG Dolls copy the OMG Girl distinctive physical appearance, hair styles and hair colors, dress and mimic the OMG Girl released sound recordings.” T.I. and tiny also accused MGA Entertainment of “cultural appropriation and outright theft of the intellectual property.” Following the verdict, Tiny called the situation “horrible, but whatever,” and T.I. claimed to want to “hear what the jurors have to say.”

T.I. Performed Acapella

Earlier this month, Swizz Beatz said he wants to see the rapper battle Rick Ross on Verzuz. “Rick Ross said he wanted T.I.,” the producer said. He continued, “Rick Ross and Tip. Battle of the south. Crown of the south. King of the south.” “T.I., talk to me. Ross you can fly your plane to the party,” he also suggested.

In April, Boosie Badazz apologized to T.I. for calling him a “rat.” He said, “After we kept going back-and-forth, […] I kinda felt bad.” Boosie said he, “kinda felt bad he was doing some real s**t helping me in a lot of ways but I told him I still stand on what I stand on.” He also shared that the two of them have made amends.
