Halle Bailey’s Birthday: DDG & Halo Spoil Their Favourite Girl With A Rolex And Family Time

For the first time in her life, Halle Bailey is celebrating her birthday as a mother, and she’s making it look totally effortless. On Thursday (March 28), the Atlanta-born entertainer posted a photo dump on Instagram revealing how she spent her big day with her beau, DDG, and their baby boy, Halo. It’s unclear exactly where Bailey and her family are soaking up so much sunshine, but the smiles on their faces prove their making unforgettable memories there.

“This is 24 🥰🎉💘🎂,” the birthday girl wrote in her caption, selecting a mud-covered picture of her and her infant to begin. Though we can see his full head of hair, Halo’s face remains a mystery as his parents protect his privacy. For someone who only gave birth a few months ago, Bailey’s body looks banging in her purple bikini, and she appears more confident than ever before. “My Halle and Halo 😍😍😍,” the “Angel” singer’s big sister, Chloe, wrote in the comments.

Oddly enough, it was only a year ago when social media sleuths were speculating about a breakup between Halle Bailey and DDG. Not long before The Little Mermaid premiere, gossip about him and Rubi Rose rekindling their old flame lit up the internet, but obviously there wasn’t much truth to that. Do you think Halo’s parents are in an end game relationship? Let us know in the comments, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Bfb Da Packman’s ‘Forget Me Not’ Tracklist Features Drake, DDG, Skilla Baby, And More

Of all the co-signs a rising artist could receive, the most coveted is still Drake’s — just look at the response to his remix of 4Batz’s breakout song “Act II: Date @ 8.” Even Kendrick Lamar, who is apparently dead set on going at Drake’s neck lately, owes at least some of his popularity to appearing on the Canadian rapper’s second album.

However that particular situation turns out, Drake hasn’t stopped sharing his platform with up-and-coming artists. The latest to receive his coveted co-sign is Flint, Michigan’s Bfb Da Packman. Drake appears on the tracklist of Packman’s upcoming album Forget Me Not, which he shared via social media on Monday (March 25).

In addition to Drake, Forget Me Not will feature guest appearances from many of Bfb Da Packman’s fellow Michigan natives, includine DDG, Icewear Vezzo, Rio Da Yung OG, Skilla Baby, and Yhung T.O.. West Coast rap impressionist 03 Greedo also makes an appearance, further strengthening the longstanding bond between the Motor City and the Golden State.

Drake’s impending appearance on Packman’s album is already generating plenty of buzz online, as fans of the underground rapper anticipate a glowup of similar proportions to all those who have tapped the reigning star of hip-hop on past projects like Lil Baby, Migos, and more.

Forget Me Not is out on 3/29 via Sony.

DDG’s Top 5 Female Rappers Include Sexyy Red, She Reacts

The biggest names in female rap grow to be so successful partially due to controversy. Sexyy Red is evidence of this, as she’s had one of the biggest and fastest comeups we’ve seen amongst femcees in recent years. Because of how quickly she skyrocketed to fame, some can’t help but ponder if the St. Louis native is an industry plant. Nevertheless, she continues to rise to new heights, even after welcoming her second child just a few weeks ago. Red’s resume is seriously impressive already, but now, she can officially add “DDG’s Top 5” to her growing list of accolades.

The YouTuber is no stranger to trolling his haters and opps on Twitter, but on Wednesday (March 20), DDG made a point to praise his fellow new parent. “Sexyy Red Top 5 female rapper of all time,” he boldly declared, earning a retweet from the “SkeeYee” hitmaker herself. Rather than simply taking the compliment with confidence, the NSFW rhymer suggested that DDG might face some backlash for his post. “Dey not gon like you fa dis one 😂😂,” Red laughed while speculating.

DDG is a Big Fan of St. Louis’ Sexyy Red

“[On God], Salt-n-Pepa not f**kin [with you] 💯,” the “Elon Musk” artist promised his friend. Of course, not everyone agrees with DDG’s take, but it’s hard to deny how impressively she’s navigated through her rise to fame. Not only is she close friends with Drake and SZA, but she’s already nabbed a Nicki Minaj collaboration and has other artists fangirling all over the globe.

DDG’s fans have seen a noticeable change in his behaviour since stepping into his role as a father. Not only did the Pontiac native shoutout Sexyy Red for doing her thing in the rap game this week, but he also made sure his partner Halle Bailey was feeling the love with an award show at their home in her honour. Halle Bailey Details Why She Kept Her Pregnancy and Baby Private: ‘Halo Was My Gift’

Halle Bailey is pulling the curtain back on her decision to keep her pregnancy quiet as long as she could.

Halle Bailey is pulling the curtain back on her decision to keep her pregnancy quiet as long as she could.

At the 2024 ESSENCE Black Women in Hollywood Awards Ceremony, Halle revealed she was enjoying her “gift.”

“There was no way in hell I was going to share the biggest joy of my world with anyone. Halo was my gift. He is the greatest blessing, and I had no obligation to expose him, me, or my family to that,” Bailey said. “With the state of the world and the place it is in with men trying to force their will on our bodies, no one on social media, and for damn sure, no one on the planet was going to tell me what to do with my body or what to share with the world.”

The sentiment echoes that of the child’s father, DDG. Speaking with Hollywood Unlocked, DDG revealed the decision was to push away “negative vibes.”

“I think it was more so people was already giving us negative vibes, so it’s like why let ‘em know then make her pregnancy stressful?”

With a new baby, Halle Bailey and DDG have combined for a new Instagram for their son Halo. In the initial images on the account, Halo’s face is blurred for security.

Halo’s bio reads: “my stylist & dada @ddg run this page.. the flyest baby alive.”

You can see the first image below.

Earlier this week, Halle Bailey confirmed what fans long speculated, she was pregnant. She and her boyfriend, rapper DDG, announced the birth of their son Halo on Instagram.

“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me, was bring me my son,” Bailey wrote. “Welcome to the world my halo 🥰👼🏽 ✨the world is desperate to know you 😉🤣♥.”

DDG shared, “my biggest blessing by far 👶🏽❤ son son.. never been so in love 🥹 baby halo.”

DDG Will Do Anything To Protect Halo On “Sh**t Up Your Block”

Over the past couple of months, Michigan multi-hyphenate DDG has put out two singles. Unfortunately, they have not been very memorable in our opinion. His voice seems to be the biggest issue we have with sound. For some reason, it is hard to tell when you hear a song from him. The beats have also been fairly run-of-the-mill. However, DDG is riding a bit of a different wave on “Sh**t Up Your Block.”

The reason we say that is because Cash Cobain produced this cut. If you are not familiar with his style, it is very woozy, low-key, and hazy. He also likes to rely more heavily on bass and less drums. That is the case with “Sh**t Up Your Block.”

Also drawing us into this record are DDG’s lyrics. It is clear that he is dedicating this song to his newborn son Halo. The writing is a little suspect, saying he will “spin,” even though he is “not affiliated with gangs.” Of course, the rapper and his boo, Halle Bailey, welcomed their child at the start of 2024. There was tons of speculation on whether or not she was pregnant. This song also comes at the perfect time, as Halo was born two months ago yesterday.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Sh**t Up Your Block,” by DDG? Is this one of his strongest tracks lately, why or why not? What is your favorite element of the song and why? Do you think he has an album on the way? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding DDG. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

Quotable Lyrics:

I can’t be childish, b***, I got a kid
Told her we can link but just not at my crib
My son custom down to the chain, to the f****n’ bib
I’m not affiliated with gangs, but for him I’ll spin
Shoot up yo’ block, shoot up yo’ block, shoot up yo’ block (Ooh), shoot up yo’ block
When it come to my son and my fam, you get popped

EXCLUSIVE: DDG Names 50 Cent As His First Introduction To Hip-Hop

DDG Drops New Collection With Anti Social Social Club Titled 'Who We Hate to Be'

DDG is a man of many talents. From finding success on Youtube to his rap career to breaking into fashion, to even becoming a new father.

Last week during the highly-anticipated BMF red carpet premiere and screening in Los Angeles, The Source had the pleasure of chatting with DDG as he stepped out in an all-black outfit and shades.

What was the moment you fell in love with?

It’s funny, actually 50 Cent was my first introduction to Hip-Hop. He was my favorite rapper growing up. Get Rich & Or Die Trying, I had the G-Unit shoes, the clothes, the video game. All of that.

What’s your favorite 50 Cent song?

“Many Men.”

Did you get to catch his tour? Because that show was so amazing.

Nah, I didn’t get to go.

https://www.instagram.com/p/C30onxLPDL_/?hl=en

Did you really drop $50K on a diamond tooth?

Yeah, something like that.

How’s the baby doing?

Great, amazing. He’s very, very advanced, and I’m very proud.

What’s it going to be?

I don’t know, whatever he wants to be. You never know. He’s already playing piano, so we’ll see.

What’s the best part of fatherhood?

Just seeing the little stuff. It’s like low key reliving your own life and seeing how it was to be a baby and growing up. You’re seeing how you were when you were a kid.

Do you feel like you had to grow up?

Yeah, I feel like a super grown up. I feel like a man. Not that I didn’t feel like a man before, but feel like a man man.

You bought your son a private jet?

Yeah, everywhere we fly because I don’t want to bring him through TSA. Maybe when everybody sees his face right now, it won’t matter. But right know, I keep it private.

What are you working on?

New music. Maybe getting into acting. I’m trying to go go go this year.

Are you taking acting classes?

I don’t need no class. It’s in me!

Halle Bailey Looks Stunning In Post-Pregnancy Essence Cover

Earlier this year, Halle Bailey hit fans with some major news. Pregnancy rumors had swirled around the singer and actress for months though she’d been purposefully quiet about acknowledging them. That’s why fans had a variety of reactions to her “surprise” announcement that she gave birth to her first child in the first week of the new year. She later confirmed that it was actually the boy’s father, DDG, who came up with what would eventually be his name, Halo.

Now Halle Bailey is getting back into her routine, starting with a new magazine cover showing off her post-pregnancy look. She appears on the newest edition of Essence Magazine, which highlights her specifically among a larger focus on black women in Hollywood. “thank you so much @essence for this incredible honor 🌹✨i’m forever grateful” she captioned her Instagram post sharing some of the pictures from the piece. In some of the pictures she’s sporting a dark red dress stretching head to toe and in others, she posed in a more stark black and white. Check out all the photos she shared below.

DDG Says He and Halle Bailey Kept Pregnancy a Secret to Keep Away ‘Negative Vibes’

DDG is discussing why he and Halle Bailey kept their pregnancy a secret.

Speaking with Hollywood Unlocked, DDG revealed the decision was to push away “negative vibes.”

DDG Is “Going To The Top” On His Latest Single

DDG for some reason just does not hit the sweet spot for us when it comes to crafting memorable tracks. The multi-hyphenate from Michigan does not have to be a wordsmith by any means. Creating easy-going tracks that are catchy is not a bad thing to make a career off of. However, DDG just does not have that special sauce even on his latest single “Going To The Top.”

This follows up his “She Don’t Play” offering from late December. It was more a of club/party track about a woman who could get whatever she wanted. There are a lot of artists who make similar music to DDG. But, what helps them stand out is the way they deliver their lyrics and the production choices they make.

For the past YouTuber, it seems that he selects basic flows and instrumentals that you will hear all over the current hip-hop landscape. “Going To The Top” is about grinding and flexing how far you have come and how no one is better. It is a common rap topic and has given us plenty of memorable tracks. Yet again though, DDG does nothing to show us why it should be worth going back to this. Still, if you want to support, click the link to check out the song above.

DDG Drops New Collection With Anti Social Social Club Titled ‘Who We Hate to Be’

DDG Drops New Collection With Anti Social Social Club Titled 'Who We Hate to Be'

DDG has much to celebrate, including welcoming a newborn with girlfriend Halle Bailey. And while he’s made his mark both on YouTube and in the rap game, he’s now diving head-on into the fashion world.

Fresh off his trip overseas for Paris Fashion Week, DDG returns to drop his newest collection with Anti Social Social Club. The collection is aptly titled “Who We Hate To Be,” boasting signature designs from the popular streetwear brand and new accessories such as the 3M Scotchlite hat.

“My love for both streetwear and couture is no secret,” says DDG about the campaign. “I’ve been rocking with Anti Social Social Club for years, so it’s a real honor to partner with them for their newest drop. My creativity doesn’t stop at music and through collaborations like this, I’m able to share my broader artistic vision in fashion.”

This is certainly not the first collab with a rapper for Anti Social Social Club, following collaborations with Rich The Kid and 1500 or Nothin’, the latter of which paid tribute to the late Nipsey Hussle.

Anti Social Social Club shared the same sentiments: “When we learned that DDG was a fan of Anti Social Social Club, we were excited to shoot and style him in ASSC’s iconic Mind Games graphic, with a flare from the reflective material, including our 3M Scotchlite hat. Among his peers, DDG stands out as a rapper and artist with a uniquely strong connection to fashion, and we look forward to seeing him grow in the streetwear community. It’s a pleasure to feature him in a campaign and deliver his fans a unique collection.”

The collection will be available for purchase at Anti Social Social Club’s online store starting Saturday, Feb. 17th.
