It’s only been a few days since Halle Bailey and DDG announced the birth of their son, Halo, but they are already introducing him to the world of social media. Yesterday (January 9), the new parents launched an Instagram for him, and fans instantly flocked to follow it.

The account, @therealbabyhalo, has over 38,000 followers as of this post. “My stylist & dada @ddg run this page.. the flyest baby alive,” the bio reads.

However, for those who might have been expecting to see what Halo looked like, it might not happen for a while. In the first post on Halo’s Instagram, they blurred out the baby’s face for privacy reasons. All that can be seen is that he is rocking a black Nike onesie.

“Went all black nike tech today for doctor check ups… nun too crazy,” the caption reads.

This has left those interested a bit confused by the purpose. “What’s tha point in makin ah instagram for a baby who’s face yall don’t wanna show?” one user commented.

“Creating a page but don’t wanna show the face is wild,” another wrote with laughing emojis. “We supposed to like the baby feet?!?”

Others took a different approach and appreciated DDG for having fun with being a new father.

The Little Mermaid actress Halle Bailey and “Way Too Petty” rapper DDG’s relationship have been online detective’s favorite hobby. Due to the unwanted attention and often negative criticism they’ve accrued, the pair have attempted to throw the public off their trail. They even appear to have fed reporters claims that they had broken up.

Eventually they made it clear that they were, in fact, still an item with a string of baecation photos across their respective social media pages. Another lingering rumor was that the couple was expecting their first child. DDG attempted to dismiss the online batter by recording a trolling video featuring a baby doll and even a younger family member. However, on Saturday, January 6, after weeks of speculation, the pair confirmed that they did in fact welcome their first child together.

“Even though we’re a few days into the new year, the greatest thing that 2023 could have done for me was bring me my son,” wrote Bailey in an Instagram post. “Welcome to the world, my halo the world is desperate to know you .”

“My biggest blessing by far son son.. never been so in love baby halo,” penned DDG in an upload of his own.

The picture shared by the first-time parents showed the newborn grasping onto their fingers, with a custom engraved gold bracelet revealing his name.

One of the weirder trends that has developed online in the past few months has been an unofficial “pregnancy watch” of sorts focusing on singer-actress Halle Bailey and her boyfriend, rapper-YouTuber DDG. While Bailey’s been on promo tour for her new film The Color Purple, fans have had a field day speculating about pregnancy rumors, deciding on Christmas that this mystery child had finally been born thanks to a livestream in which Halle wore form-fitting pajamas revealing no baby bump.

DDG decided to address those fans, showing them the alleged baby via Snapchat. The only catch: the “baby” he posed with was a doll — his way of trolling people for caring too much about celebrities’ lives. During the stream, he vented, “I don’t know why people is so invested in what I got going on or what we got going on. Mind your business. Touch some grass. Go do a cartwheel in the backyard or something. It’s weird. I genuinely don’t be understanding. Why do y’all be so invested in people that don’t know you? Whatever is going on in my life or her life is not going to change yours. Let’s focus on ourselves [in] 2024. Let’s try to lock in ourselves, not other people. Please, mind your business.”
