Pharrell Previews Swae Lee & Rauw Alejandro Collab At Louis Vuitton Fashion Show

As Louis Vuitton’s creative director, you can expect Pharrell to take good care of the aux at its fashion shows. Moreover, he recently hosted one on Friday night (December 1) to show off his new collection for the brand, and was joined by some special guests. Most notably, Swae Lee– the superstar who formed Rae Sremmurd with his brother– and Rauw Alejandro– the Puerto Rican superstar making waves for his sci-fi-inspired take on reggaetón– had a great time at the show, sitting in the runway’s front row. Not only that, but Skateboard P actually previewed a collaboration between the two.

Furthermore, Pharrell played the unreleased team-up as the models strutted their stuff. Swae Lee and Rauw Alejandro mime-performed their own verses, and then stood up together to dance, sing along, laugh, and show off each other’s fits. It’s unclear whether the “At The Party” producer actually made this beat, which is a cohesive fusion of reggaetón, R&B, and dancehall stylings. We can safely assume he did, not just because of the circumstance of the premiere, but because it’s a pretty awesome groove, too.

Rauw Alejandro & Swae Lee Dance To Their Collab At Pharrell’s LV Show: Watch

Of course, Pharrell has a long and legendary history of collaborating with amazing artists to make timeless music. However, it’s something that he’s pretty humble about when comparing himself to his other producer friends, and we had a wholesome example of that with Timbaland recently. While they attended Swizz Beatz’s birthday dinner together, they debated over who has the better team-up tracks with Jay-Z. Rather than argue for themselves, they argued for each other’s catalog, which is a camaraderie that’s rare to see in today’s competitive environment.

Meanwhile, there’s also a lot of speculation about what Mr. Williams will drop next when it comes to music. Recently, he suggested that N.E.R.D. could be coming back to release new material, which obviously got fans very excited. Hopefully we get some news about this soon, and we can get our hands on this full jam between these entertainers. On that note, stay logged into HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Pharrell, Swae Lee, and Rauw Alejandro.

Sexyy Red & Kevin Gates Perform “Yonce Freestyle” Live: Watch

It’s no secret that Sexyy Red knows how to put on quite a show, and her most recent performance was no exception. In a new clip, the St. Louis-born hitmaker is seen welcoming none other than Kevin Gates to the stage. Of course, the duo performed their new collab “Yonce Freestyle,” and the crowd went wild. She frequently surprises her fans with special guests, also reportedly bringing out Chrisean Rock at one point in her set.

The two artists announced that they were teaming up at the beginning of this month, following months of demands from fans. Supporters suspected that their similarly raunchy styles would make them a match made in heaven. B.G., who just recently returned home from an 11-year prison-stay, also appears on the freaky track.

Sexyy Red Welcomes Kevin Gates To The Stage

This year alone, she’s managed to secure collabs with Drake and SZA, Lil Durk, DaBaby, and more. Clearly, the “Pound Town” performer doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. Her list of high-profile collabs isn’t the only thing continuing to grow these days, however. In the clip, Sexyy Red’s pregnant belly is also on full display, though it hasn’t kept her from her signature stage antics. Her authenticity and work ethic have gotten her a long way in recent months, but unfortunately, the feedback hasn’t been all positive.

She recently dropped off a music video for her new track “Free My N***a,” which has sparked a bit of controversy among viewers. The prison-themed video didn’t sit right with some fans, who felt that it was insensitive. Regardless, it’s racked up hundreds of thousands of listens on Spotify in only a few days. What do you think of Sexyy Red bringing out Kevin Gates at one of her recent shows? Are you a fan of their collab? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Timbaland’s 7 Best Pop Collaborations

The 2000s marked a truly experimental moment for pop music. As such, the innovative efforts of Timbaland made for some brilliant musical collaborations. One of the most important producers in music history, his work has enjoyed substantial acclaim for his futuristic sounds and exploratory beats. Furthermore, by enlisting some of the finest pop artists in his work, Timbaland created some truly timeless collabs.

Notably, his works with frequent collaborators Justin Timberlake and Nelly Furtado took center stage. However, in the pop scene, Timbaland has worked with many lauded artists, including Keri Hilson, Katy Perry, and even the Queen of Pop, Madonna. Overall, his music has remained timeless, and when it comes to some of the best producer-artist collabs, Timbaland undoubtedly reigns supreme. Here are seven of his best pop alliances that dominated the 2000s.

7. “If We Ever Meet Again” – Timbaland Ft. Katy Perry (2009)

“If We Ever Meet Again” is one of the standout tracks from Timbaland’s third album, Shock Value II. It features additional vocals from Katy Perry. The song was a moderate success but is one of the producer’s most recognizable collaborative efforts. Lyrically, the single follows both artists longing for another chance to see each other again after an initial encounter. Commercially, the song peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and also enjoyed the most success in the UK, achieving a platinum certification for over 600,000 sales.

6. “4 Minutes” – Madonna Ft. Justin Timberlake & Timbaland (2008)

By 2008, Madonna had already made a full comeback. However, she took things up a notch with the single, “4 Minutes.” One of Madonna’s biggest collabs, the dance-pop track featured Justin Timberlake and Timbaland, who both co-produced the track alongside Danja. Overall, “4 Minutes” is a boisterous number, backed by a sleek and heavy bass beat. Furthermore, Timbaland employed Bhangra beats, as well as brass instruments to give the track an extra kick. Madonna and Timberlake also shared amazing synergy on the track, effortlessly trading lines with one another.

5. “Give It To Me” – Timbaland Ft. Nelly Furtado & Justin Timberlake (2007)

The snappy, sexy, club staple, “Give It To Me,” wasted no time in taking over the radio. Timbaland enlisted his frequent partners, Nelly Furtado and Justin Timberlake for one of his hottest collabs of all time. “Give It To Me” peaked atop the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Timbaland’s first and only chart-topper as a lead artist. The single was released as the first single from his sophomore album, Shock Value. Moreover, it became one of the most-played songs of 2007. Overall, “Give It To Me” has been certified 3x Platinum in the US, with over three million copies sold.

4. “Apologize” – Timbaland & OneRepublic (2007)

Timbaland has a number of successful collaborations, but “Apologize” quickly became a worldwide smash hit. The slow-burning pop and R&B hybrid has been certified 5x Platinum in the US, with sales of over five million copies. While the song failed to top the Billboard Hot 100, it settled for the penultimate position. Moreover, it spent a whopping 25 weeks in the top 10. Around the world, “Apologize” dominated heavily as well. In Australia, for example, the song achieved a gargantuan 11x Platinum certification by the ARIA for selling over 770,000 copies. In the UK, it achieved a 2x Platinum, selling over 1.2 million copies. Furthermore, it achieved sales of over 400,000 in Canada, achieving a 5x Platinum.

3. “The Way I Are” – Timbaland Ft. Keri Hilson (2007)

Timbaland was known to keep his musical partners close. Besides Justin Timberlake, Nelly Furtado, and Missy Elliott, Timbaland also enjoyed some delicious collabs with Keri Hilson. Her sultry vocals paired brilliantly with his dark, sexy production style, and together, they made magic. “The Way I Are” is a testament to their harmonious musical relationship. The pop and electro-hop single became an instant success, peaking atop the UK Singles chart. On the Hot 100, the song reached the third spot. Furthermore, in the US, “The Way I Are” has been awarded a 3x Platinum certification by the RIAA, for sales of over three million. It remains one of both artists’ most successful tracks.

2. “SexyBack” – Justin Timberlake Ft. Timbaland (2006)

The collaborative effort of Timbaland and Justin Timberlake made for some of the best music in both their discographies. However, the magic of “SexyBack” absolutely dominated the radio around the world. In a twist from his crooning style, Timberlake opted for a more stylish, rock vibe, boosting the song’s incredible sex appeal. “SexyBack” peaked atop the Billboard Hot 100, the UK Singles Chart, and many more charts around the globe. Although Timbaland reigned supreme in the 2000s, 2006 and 2007 were undeniably his best years, especially in terms of chart-topping collabs.

1. “Promiscuous” – Nelly Furtado Ft. Timbaland (2006)

Timbaland was the main producer on Nelly Furtado’s third album Loose, which was responsible for one the biggest collabs of his career. “Promiscuous” was the second single off the album, and peaked atop the Billboard Hot 100 in no time. Lyrically, both Furtado and Timbaland trade lines, engaging in heavy flirtatious banter, and tagging each other “promiscuous.” Beyond the song’s success on the charts, “Promiscuous” went on to sell over seven million copies, earning a 7x Platinum certification by the RIAA. It also enjoyed much success in Europe, particularly in the UK, where it earned a 2x Platinum certification for sales of over 1.2 million.

Jeezy’s 7 Hottest Hip Hop Collabs

Jeezy remains one of Hip Hop’s most influential figures, and he has created some truly timeless collabs. Since beginning his career in 2001, he has been put among the likes of T.I. and Gucci Mane as one of Atlanta’s biggest rap exports. With a career spanning 13 studio albums and a number of impressive mixtapes, Young Jeezy has shown several times that he can deliver some impressive hits. Furthermore, as one of the most sought-after rappers of the 2000s, his collaborations with other artists were widely lauded. However, his latest album, I Might Forgive… But I Don’t Forget, is without any features. Nonetheless, we’ve outlined seven of Jeezy’s hottest Hip Hop collabs that are sure to trigger a bout of nostalgia.

7. “I’m So Hood” (Remix) – DJ Khaled Ft. Jeezy, Lil Wayne, T-Pain & More

The remix of “I’m So Hood” is one of the most timeless collabs of the 2000s. From DJ Khaled’s first studio album, this remix features Lil Wayne, Big Boi, Busta Rhymes, Ludacris, Birdman, Young Jeezy, and Fat Joe. “I’m So Hood” is also a representation of how well Jeezy and the other acts hold their own when placed side-by-side with their peers. Each rapper’s flow complements the other, and the verses flow seamlessly into one another. It is no wonder that the song won the best collaboration at the 2008 BET Awards.

6. “My N***a” – YG Ft. Jeezy & Rich Homie Quan

This Hip Hop anthem by YG, featuring Young Jeezy and Rich Homie Quan, turned out to be one of the biggest rap collabs of 2013. Over a minimalist, catchy beat by DJ Mustard, the three artists seamlessly exchange verses with camaraderie and loyalty as the song’s main theme. “My N***a” peaked at No. 16 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and has amassed almost 360 million streams on YouTube since 2013. The song also won the award for the Best Collab, Duo, or Group at the 2014 BET Awards.

5. “Bout That” Ft. Lil Wayne

“Bout That” features a good amount of braggadocio, with Jeezy and Lil Wayne rapping about their affluence in the rap game, paralleling their status in the music industry to the streets. Jeezy’s gritty rap style blends perfectly with Lil Wayne’s sly, witty lyrics, and the result is a smooth mix. “Bout That” might not have been a major hit, but real Hip Hop heads can’t help but appreciate the genius of this collaboration. It is one of the standout tracks on Jeezy’s ninth album, Trap Or Die 3.

4. “Seen It All”- feat. Jay Z

“Seen It All” is one of the singles supporting Jeezy’s seventh studio album, Seen It All: The Autobiography. “Seen It All” features dark and atmospheric beats with a haunting piano melody that creates a somber mood. The track also brings forth the essence of the streets, with both Jeezy and HOV  talking about the various challenges they went through to reach their current heights. “Seen It All” peaked at No. 85 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Moreover, the Cardo-produced track also peaked at No. 25 on the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs Chart. Nonetheless, it’s a testament to Jeezy holding his own, in one of his most high-profile rap collabs.

3. “Put On” feat. Kanye West

“Put On” was released as the lead single for Jeezy’s third studio album, The Recession. The track, which features Kanye West, utilizes a grandiose and anthemic sound, with a beat filled with triumphant horns and impactful percussions. “Put On” peaked at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Furthermore, with over 200 million streams on Spotify, it is one of the most streamed Jeezy collabs of all time.

2. “My President” Ft. Nas

“My President” is a socially conscious track celebrating Obama’s nomination for the American presidency under the Democratic Party. The song’s lyrics explore various social and socio-economic issues in the United States, especially those faced by African Americans. One of his most introspective collabs, Jeezy delivers some of his most powerful verses, and Nas keeps the ball rolling by the third verse. The song also strikes a balance between the urgency of the situation and the general ecstasy that comes with the possibility that an African American candidate had a shot at becoming president. “My President” peaked at No. 53 on the Hot 100 chart, and the track’s music video has over 25 million streams on YouTube.

A collaboration between Jay-Z, André 3000, and Jeezy is sure to satisfy any Hip Hop fan, and this one did not disappoint. Released in 2011 as part of Jeezy’s sixth album TM: 103, “I Do” explores themes of commitment, love, and the complexities of romantic relationships. The track’s production features a smooth and melodic beat, providing a soulful backdrop for pensive lyrics. “I Do” peaked at number 61 on the Hot 100, and was also nominated for Best Rap Performance at the 2013 Grammy Awards. Q-Tip’s 7 Hottest Hip Hop Collabs

Q-Tip and the remaining surviving members of A Tribe Called Quest recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of their classic third album, 1993’s Midnight Marauders. The album is widely considered the group’s greatest album, featuring some of Q-Tip’s best verses. As rap fans look back at Tribe’s prolific history, they also hope for new music from The Abstract.

While Q-Tip has been relatively quiet on the music front, he teased three entire albums worth of material back in 2020. While none of those releases have seen the light of day, that has not stopped him from collaborating with others. Q-Tip often brings the best out of the artists he works with, so we are highlighting some of his best collaborations. Here are 7 of Q-Tip’s hottest hip hop collabs. Take a look at the list below.

Busta Rhymes – “Ill Vibe” (1996)

Busta Rhymes is one of Q-Tip’s closest and most frequent collaborators. The two have worked together throughout their careers in different capacities. Early on, they appeared on posse cuts with A Tribe Called Quest and Leaders of the New School together and later featured on each other’s solo albums. One of Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip’s earliest and hottest collabs is “Ill Vibe” from Busta’s debut solo album, The Coming. The laidback boom bap classic was produced by The Ummah, Tip’s production collective with Ali Shaheed Muhammad and J Dilla. “Ill Vibe” contains Q-Tip’s smooth flow and Busta’s animated delivery, making for one of their most iconic collabs.

The Roots – “Ital (The Universal Side)” (1996)

This highlight from The Roots’ classic Illadelph Halflife album sees Black Thought and Q-Tip trading bars back and forth. The funky instrumental lends itself to both of their rap styles, as well as their musical chemistry. The two each take their own unique approach to rapping, but they blend their styles together on “Ital.” Black Thought is known for outshining other rappers on most tracks, but he and Q-Tip work together for a skillful exchange of bars.

Missy Elliott – “Hot Boyz (Remix)” (1999)

One of Q-Tip’s hottest collabs is the remix of Missy Elliott’s 1999 single, “Hot Boyz.” The remix features an all-star lineup, including Missy, Tip, Nas, Eve, and Lil Mo. An eclectic mix of hip hop artists, each rapper gets their moment to shine over the Timbaland-produced beat. The “Hot Boyz” remix was massively successful, spending 18 weeks atop the Hot Rap Singles chart and breaking the record for most weeks at No. 1 on the R&B chart at the time. While “Hot Boyz” stands out as one of Missy’s greatest works, its remix is a standout collaboration between various artists, including Q-Tip.

Slum Village – “Hold Tight” (2000)

Q-Tip and Slum Village were a perfect match on “Hold Tight.” He kicks off the relaxed song with a smooth verse, commenting on the state of the rap game. Tip raps, “N****s in the game is getting too slimy / Liable to make this peace turn grimy,” passing the torch to Slum Village. In his verse, Q-Tip voices his frustrations with greedy industry executives and places his faith in his musical peers. He shouts out each member of Slum Village, along with D’Angelo, Busta Rhymes, and his fellow members of A Tribe Called Quest. He sets the tone for J Dilla, T3, and Baatin to spit their verses, resulting in a standout track from Fantastic, Vol. 2

Busta Rhymes feat. Q-Tip, Lil Wayne, & Kanye West – “Thank You” (2013)

Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes have remained close throughout their careers, eventually teaming up for a collaborative mixtape, 2013’s The Abstract & The Dragon. The project compiled old classics from their group and solo careers, as well as new material like “Thank You.” The song samples Alicia Myers’s “I Wanna Thank You.” Lil Wayne and Kanye West briefly make appearances, symbolizing a truce between the Young Money and G.O.O.D. Music labels, to which Busta and Tip were respectively signed. Over the groovy instrumental, Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip display their longtime chemistry, effortlessly flowing to match the fast guitar sample. The two match each other’s skills, standing out as one of both Busta Rhymes and Q-Tip’s best songs. It is also one of Q-Tip’s biggest hip hop collabs, going silver in the UK.

James BKS, Q-Tip, Idris Elba, & Little Simz – “New Breed” (2019)

In 2019, French musician James BKS recruited Q-Tip, Little Simz, and Idris Elba for “New Breed,” a standalone single that captured elements of hip hop and dance music worldwide. Over a festive and joyous instrumental, Q-Tip slides across the beat, Idris Elba excites, and Simz dazzles with her verse. The French, American, and British artists each rap about their African heritage and what it means to them. Each rapper provides their own unique style to the celebratory song, embracing Africa through the lens of their different nationalities.

Eminem, Royce Da 5’9”, Black Thought, Q-Tip, & Denaun – “Yah Yah” (2020)

“Yah Yah” is one of Q-Tip’s hottest collabs as his catchy hook serves as the centerpiece for an explosive banger. The song sees Eminem, Black Thought, and Royce Da 5’9” spit rapid flows with complex rhyme schemes at a high energy. The song serves as an ode to the golden era of hip hop that inspired each artist, as emphasized by each verse and the hook from Q-Tip. The collaboration between Eminem, Royce, Black Thought, Q-Tip, and Denaun is a prime example of top-tier lyricists spitting a high caliber, paying homage to their hip hop idols. “Yah Yah” is one of Q-Tip’s most memorable collabs in recent memory, leaving fans yearning for more music.

ASAP Rocky Reveals What A Rihanna Collab Would Be Like, And It’s A Surprise

ASAP Rocky and Rihanna are the premiere power couple right now… although they’ve never collaborated on a song together- at least, one they’ve released. Moreover, the closest thing we have to that is the Barbadian singer’s appearance in the “Fashion Killa” music video, but nothing else. As such, many folks wonder what a team-up on wax between the two would sound like, especially as they still haven’t dropped their long-awaited follow-up albums. Furthermore, the New York MC recently told Complex of what a joint effort from him and his boo would sound like. In fact, he named his favorite collaboration of theirs, and it’s as wholesome of an answer as you’d want.

“If me and my lady was to collab, what could we, like, team up and just f***ing smash and go cr*zy on?” ASAP Rocky remarked while repeating the question. “I think we do a real great job at collaborating and making children. I think that’s our best creation so far. Nothing’s better than that, I don’t think. Any design- I mean, we had a third designer coming to help. A ghost designer named God, you know, shaped everything. And we have these beautiful angels, so that’s the best collaboration,” he concluded with a laugh.

Yung Miami Denies Shading Megan Thee Stallion, Doja Cat & Cardi B Collabs

Sadly, much of hip-hop’s media, fandom, and social media activity can’t help but feed into desires for a “catfight” or two. Moreover, femcees often deal with forces that put them against each other, whether that’s a misinterpreted competitive spirit, omissions, or constant comparisons. But a lot of the time, these accusations aren’t reflective of any real conflict or drama: just a chance to stir something up. For an example of this, look no further than the City Girls’ latest interview. While speaking to Cosmopolitan for their ironically named Cheap Shots show, many fans thought that they indirectly disregarded Cardi B, Doja Cat, and Megan Thee Stallion.

Specifically, this was during their answer to a question about going through eight female collaborators in their career’s history in as little time as possible. Yung Miami mentioned Kim Petras, Latto, Chloe Bailey, Halle Bailey, Muni Long, Ciara, and Lola Brooke in response. “That’s all… I don’t got no more. I think that’s all the female artists,” the podcast host remarked incorrectly due to a slip in memory in that 30-second timeframe. When a behind-the-scenes set worked pointed out Meg and Doja, the Florida duo laughed and moved on, as if to clown themselves for forgetting in the first place.

Yung Miami Responds To Fans Looking For A Fight

Still, this didn’t sit well with some fans online, who immediately assumed their omission of these artists was deliberate. But Yung Miami is tired of these constant black-and-white expectations to either always shout out artists or combat them. On Twitter, she blasted fans once again for taking her words out of context and aggrandizing them. “We literally had 30 seconds to remember the [people] we collaborated with in the spur of the moment lol,” Caresha expressed on Wednesday (November 15). “It was [supposed] to be fun. Y’all [people] really make up ANYTHING STFU!” If she’s dissing you, you will definitely know for sure.

More Thoughts From Caresha

Meanwhile, what do you think about this whole exchange? Is Yung Miami just trying to divert attention from other beefs with other disses or are feud-hungry fans just taking advantage of the rumor mill? However you may feel, let us know in the comments down below. Also, come back to HNHH for more on Yung Miami, Cardi B, Megan Thee Stallion, and Doja Cat.

Drake & J. Cole Unveil New “First Person Shooter” Music Video

Today, Drake dropped a new music video for his track alongside J. Cole, “First Person Shooter.” The fan favorite collab comes from the Toronto native’s latest album For All The Dogs, which he released in October. It quickly became one of the top-performing tracks of the entire LP, along with his collabs with Yeat, Sexyy Red & SZA, and more.

The creative Gibson Hazard-directed music video leads with an appearance from Brian Baumgartner of The Office. The two of them go on to compete in various competitions, and Drake’s seen shooting an otherworldly hoop, which conveniently beckons a mob of his “Dogs” to come cheer him on as he performs on top of the Scotiabank Arena. The video closes with a curtain being pulled from a towering stone Drake statue as the crowd goes wild.

Rick Ross & Meek Mill – “Star Island”

While so far it appears as though listeners are liking the new project, it’s only expected to move around 35 copies in its first week. Meek Mill addressed the low sales projections in a Tweet today. “It’s says me and Ross on pace to sell 35k first week I would post if it said 350k… I’m too nice and rich to be rapping in a control music environment that’s why we dropping music on Fridays it’s doesn’t make sense …. Now we all own our music we getting the tech built to put people on our own musical subscriptions and we gone let direct to consumer see if rap if doing well,” he wrote.

“Staring at social media fantasizing about others lives and getting mentally sick! I seen it happen to so many people! It’s like a clout zombie effect,” he added.
