“I was like 12, 13 years old,” he continued. “Shoutout to Dun Duddy, he f*cked me up in that battle […] That n***a was rapping like he was 18! Travis Scott Pursued Being A Kidney Doctor Before Music

During his recent interview with GQ, Travis Scott hinted at wanting to pursue a degree in architectural design at Harvard University. However, that’s wasn’t necessarily his first love in the world of academia, and in that conversation, he alluded to what he initially wanted to do with his life. Moreover, La Flame recalled his grammar school days, specifically a time when he slept over at a friend’s house. There, he met his uncle, a man who he found to be very successful and fulfilled. As such, the Houston rapper couldn’t help but ask what he did for a living, and his answer gave him one of his first career aspirations: a kidney doctor.

“We went to his crib,” Travis Scott remarked. “His crib was cr*zy. I’ve never seen a crib like this. It was OD. His dad was an ob-gyn. And I remember his uncle was at the house, and I asked his uncle, I was like, ‘What do you do?’ And he’s like, ‘I’m a nephrologist.’ He told me what it was, and I was like, ‘Yo, it’s cr*zy.’ I was like, ‘Yeah, I want to be that.’

“I don’t know why being a kidney doctor was just such… I think it was his swag,” Travis Scott explained. “Like, his whole swag was just, like, he was fresh. I don’t know. It was the idea of just, like, saving people at the time was dope. I used to go and shadow at the hospitals [during his college days at the University of Texas in San Antonio]. So I fell in love with it more there, just the whole process of it all. I wanted to own my own practice, know the business side of it, do the medicine side of it.”

“First thing I did was buy my estate, you know what I mean?” DaBaby explained. “I got something there for my daughters that can’t nobody take away from them. And it’s just like Wonderland. It’s my version of Neverland. Actually I got my mama a crib first, then I did that. And I just reinvested in myself, period. I got all the camera equipment that they shoot your favorite television shows and favorite movies with.”

While accepting the Global Icon Award at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards, last month, he discussed how he created the iconic “Diddy Bop” move. “I got depressed and I would be in the clubs dancing in New York doing my ‘Diddy Bop,’ and then people would see me and they would cast me for videos,” he said. “That’s how I fell in love with the music industry. I saw the executives and I wanted to chase that dream. So I wanna thank every executive, every producer, every songwriter. I gotta thank the Bad Boy family ’cause without them I would not be up here. I love y’all from the bottom of my heart.”

Terry Crews Reflects On Financial Insecurity Following NFL Career

Terry Crews recently reflected on “feeling devastated” amid financial insecurities following his brief NFL career. Speaking on stage at the Chrysalis Butterfly Ball on Saturday night, he detailed his struggle with breaking into the entertainment industry. Crews had played for several teams in the NFL throughout the 1990s.

“After retiring from the NFL, I struggled to get to the next level where I wanted to be,” he admitted as noted by Variety. “I tried and failed many times to secure a job in entertainment, but there was no luck. And then my wife’s wedding ring took its fourth trip to the pawn shop. When that happened, she told me maybe it’s time you widen the search and do anything that could genuinely put food on the table.”

From there, he explained that he tried picking up manual labor jobs through a temp agency. “After spending the previous night searching the couch cushions for change, I made the humbling decision to go in and register to be placed as a temp somewhere, anywhere,” Crews shared. “The temp agency sent me to a factory and when I arrived I was unceremoniously handed a broom and told to sweep the entire factory. I did that for eight hours, earning $8 for each of those hours.”

He continued: “Now, my pride left me feeling devastated. But something else happened that allowed me to reshape my mindset bit by bit. At the end of the day, I was able to put gas in the car and food on our table. I went to sleep exhausted, but I would wake up ready to take charge of my life.” In the time since, Crews has gone on to host America’s Got Talent, while also starring in Brooklyn Nine-Nine, White Chicks, and more.

NLE Choppa is no stranger to engaging in a little self love. This summer, he dropped off his Nelly-sampling single “It’s Getting Hot,” and took to Twitter to celebrate its success. “I’M THE GREATEST,” he wrote. “Y’ALL COUNTED ME OUT, NOW THEY LOST COUNT. Still, the “Baddies” star had some harsh words for Blue in an Instagram Live session, but also some conciliatory caution. She spoke on child support, letting him see the kid, and needing more love than what he could offer.

“He could not be there when I’m pushing the baby out, I’m sorry,” Chrisean Rock remarked. “That s**t is intentional, that s**t is intense. I need love, real love, I don’t need a n***a ready to book no camera out because his career is dying. Like, I just need real love, I’m setting boundaries. Of course you can see your kid. Of course, whatever. I don’t need no child support, I don’t need no support from you I don’t. I don’t want nobody.”
