Lil Meech Reveals Why He Decided Against A Career In Music

Lil Meech recently explained his decision to focus fully on acting instead of a career in music during an interview with AllHipHop. He told that outlet that he quickly realized hip-hop wasn’t for him after getting in front of a mic with nothing to say. Meech currently stars on the hit series, BMF.

“I was there for like eight hours trying to figure out what to say and I realized this ain’t for me,” Lil Meech admitted. “I love music, I have an ear for it, but being in front of the mic, that’s not where I shine.” He also reflected on what it takes to make it in acting. “It’s all about hard work, dedication, and really soaking in everything around you. You’ve got to have tough skin in both industries, but for me, acting became the clearer path,” Meech said.

Meech further reiterated that he’s fully committed to acting. “This is what I know. This is what I’m supposed to be doing. Once I started getting comfortable in the first and second seasons, I knew that I could handle my job. Not just do the role, but embody it,” he said. “I want people to know that I really went to acting school and buckled down and focused. This is something I really want to do. This is not something that I am just trying. I wanted to show people that I could really act.”

Lil Meech Reveals Why He Didn’t Commit To Rapping

Following his success on BMF, Meech landed a guest role on the second season of Euphoria on HBO. He was also previously in a relationship with Summer Walker, although the two infamously split back in July of 2023. Check out his full interview with AllHipHop above. Mike Epps Admits He Filmed “Most” Of His Movies On Cocaine, Recalls Ice Cube’s Advice

Mike Epps’ appearance on Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson’s All the Smoke podcast arrived earlier this week alongside plenty of bombshell revelations. During the interview, the comedian opened up about his drug addiction, for one, revealing that he struggled with it at some of the most pivotal points of his career. Epps says that amid his struggle, Ice Cube offered his some words of encouragement, though the battle continued for years to come.

“I’ve been on drugs, I’ve been through hell,” he explained. “I did most of the movies on cocaine. All About the Benjamins, I was—man, I used to sit in Ice Cube’s trailer in the morning and be crying tears. He like, ‘Mike, wipe your face, man. You a king, n***a. Stop doing this sh*t to yourself.’ I’m sitting there wiping myself ‘cause I was really, really, really—I had survivor’s remorse.”

Mike Epps Opens Up About His Drug Addiction On All The Smoke

Epps went on to describe how he previously used substances in an attempt to garner the support of old friends. Ultimately, he realized that they weren’t actually looking out for his best interest. “I was so sad that I left all them n****s here in the city and I was famous,” Epps recalled. “And when I would come home, I wanted them to be happy for me. And they was mad at me. So, I said damn I gotta destroy myself for you to like me. I was like damn, my favorite n***a, it seemed like he liked me more when I’m coming down off coke and I’m crying and I hate myself.”

Reason Teases 50 Cent’s “BMF” Cast For “Worst Acting On Television”

50 Cent certainly hasn’t had any issues making a name for himself in the world of television, but not everybody is impressed with his work. Earlier this week, TDE Reason took to Twitter/X to share his thoughts on his Starz drama series, BMF. According to him, the acting in the show is subpar. Fortunately, he also says that hasn’t prevented him from becoming a big fan of it.

BMF got the worst acting on television,” Reason wrote on Tuesday (March 5). “And I’m here for every second of it.” His post managed to get other social media users talking. Some agreed with his hot take and chimed in with their own opinions on the show. Of course, others thought he was in the wrong for dissing the star-studded cast, and rushed to their defense.

Reason Is “Here For Every Second” Of BMF

Despite any potential backlash, Reason took to 2Cool2Bl0g‘s Instagram comments section on a post about his Tweet. While some might expect that he’d backtrack on his statement, the performer only doubled down. Clearly, he isn’t ashamed of his take on the show and doesn’t find that the alleged bad acting stops him from enjoying it. “The show HEAT!!!” he commented. “Lol 50 got me tuned into every show he drop! N***as just can’t act [laughing emoji].”

Reason is far from the only viewer tuned in to BMF, however. Recently, 50 Cent revealed on Instagram that viewership has increased by 25% in recent days, which has him considering additional spinoffs. “MF Up 25% in 3 day, progress is not a slow process over here,” he wrote. “Wait till you see my two new spin off shows. GLG GreenLightGang you know the vibes. BOOM.” What do you think of Reason saying that BMF has some of the “worst acting” on TV? Do you agree with him or not? What about him claiming that he’s still a big fan of the show? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Keke Palmer Responds To Taraji P. Henson’s Comments On Quitting Acting

Keke Palmer expanded on Taraji P. Henson’s recent comments on considering quitting acting by discussing how she works multiple jobs to keep afloat. Henson broke down into tears while discussing how much she puts into her performances compared to what she’s paid with Gayle King on her SiriusXM show. Palmer says she can’t just be an actor and must also be an influencer, host, public speaker, and more.

“The entertainment industry is just like any other industry,” she wrote on Instagram. “We run businesses to keep our brands afloat, us being the brand/business. And it’s that team of company members that decrease any assumed large lump sum. This includes monthly expenses just like everyone else. In the words of biggie ‘more money more problems.’”

Palmer continued: “For an entertainment career you may be like me, an actor, influencer, host, speaker etc. I keep a job because I HAVE to haha. We ALL work multiple jobs and we may like some but also because we HAVE to. To be successful and live in America it’s literally this way because of the cash to expense ratio and this is why entrepreneurship is so important but that in itself is expensive! Having one job for anyone is not really an option no matter what industry unless you are like the top top top TOP earner and I mean that’s like Bill Gates and them I suppose. Idk because I can’t relate haha! I am not complaining or comparing but I acknowledge that we all have similar struggles in our industries and it’s because corporations run everything and they aren’t people.”

T.I. Teases King Harris For Lack Of 2Pac & Will Smith Knowledge

T.I. couldn’t believe his son, King Harris, didn’t know that 2Pac worked as an actor, nor that Will Smith was a rapper. During the latest episode of Complex’s GOAT Talk, the two discussed their favorite rapper who ventured into acting.

“Bet you expect me to say me now, wouldn’t you?” T.I. joked to begin the segment. From there, he named 2Pac as his pick, surprising his son. “2Pac was an actor?” King asked. “I didn’t know was an actor. I thought that was a lookalike 2Pac.” After King admitted he didn’t recognize 2Pac in 1992’s Juice, T.I. remarked: “How could you embarass me like this?” After shouting out Ice Cube as well, T.I. brought up Will Smith, again to King’s surprise. “Bro, I don’t know no Will Smith song! That’s like asking me what’s a Nick Cannon song?” T.I. explained: “He’s the one that opened the door for rappers to come in, go to the Grammys and stunt, man.” King joked to conclude the segment: “I feel like y’all about to tell me Denzel Washington is a rapper.”

The friendly banter comes after T.I. and King got into an altercation during an Atlanta Falcons game on Sunday. The team welcomed the two to the stadium as part of a broader celebration of the 50th anniversary of hip-hop. Other artists to attend included Ludacris, Cee-Lo Green, Big Boi, Ludacris, Jeezy, and Quavo.

At one point during the game, King was streaming on Instagram when he got into an argument with his parents. After claiming he used to go to his grandmother’s house because he was “getting into fights,” his mother took the phone away from him. From there, King began yelling at someone off camera: “What’s wrong with y’all? Why ya’ll doing that to me? Y’all know me, you know I stand on business. Why would you let someone play with me like that?” In the background, T.I. says: “You are embarrassing yourself and your family.”

Jay-Z Commends Nas For “Belly,” Claims He Wasn’t Cut Out For Acting

During a recent interview with Complex, Jay-Z addressed rumors that he was originally set to appear in Hype Williams’ 1998 film, Belly. According to him, the rumors aren’t true. He further explained why the speculation doesn’t make sense, claiming that he was too “guarded” at the time for a venture on the big screen.

“That’s a rumor. Because of how guarded I was, I hated acting,” he admitted. “This is why I don’t act, because I would get in my way. I would be thinking, ‘No, I don’t wanna do something that I ain’t gonna look cool.’” Jay-Z continued, “But you know, I was young and immature. Or I was young mentally. You know, if you see our own movies, I was in for like 30 seconds and I wasn’t even speaking.”

Though the Roc Nation founder wasn’t willing to dip his toe in the world of cinema, Nas was. Jay-Z went on to praise the artist for being able to pull it off. “I had no idea how Nas did that because I felt like he was in the same place as me. But he did it and he made it work,” he explained. “But I never was meant to be in Belly. I don’t even know where that came from.”

While he didn’t appear in Belly, Jay-Z did work alongside Williams for various music videos. According to Jay, getting any kind of performance out of him was a pretty significant feat. “I don’t know if I was coachable as far as a performance at that time,” he revealed. I don’t know if anyone could coach me, you know, because I was so guarded.” He adds, “I think about the early videos that I have and I listen to myself talking and it’s kind of hard for me to watch. That’s not even how I speak.” What do you think of Jay-Z praising Nas for his Belly performance? Are you surprised that he hated acting? Method Man Discusses The Notorious B.I.G., Making “Enter The Wu-Tang” & More On “Drink Champs”

Method Man is the latest guest on N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN’s iconic podcast Drink Champs. Speaking with the hosts for Saturday’s episode, the legendary Wu-Tang Clan rapper reflected on the making of “Method Man” off of Enter The Wu-Tang, working with The Notorious B.I.G., Queen Latifah, and more.

Of his breakout self-titled song, Method Man recalled interpolating songs that he was into at the time. “‘Hey, you, get off my cloud/You don’t know me [and] you don’t know my style.’ Who is that?” he asked. “I think that’s Bootsy Collins (“Disciples of Funk”). But it was stuck in my head, right? So by the time I got to the ‘M-e-t-h-o-d, Man,’ that was already etched in my head from ‘M-e-t-h-o-d-o-f-l-o-v-e’ (“Method of Modern Love”). [I’m a] Big Hall & Oates fan. The ‘man’ part came from Masta Ace [because] one of my favorite records was ‘The Music Man.’” He added: “The other hook part, ‘I got, fat bags of…,’ that’s The Beatles (“Come Together”).”

Speaking of Method Man’s acting career, he recently revealed that he’s interested in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During an interview with CASSIUS, he explained that he’d like to play the X-Men character, Bishop, in an upcoming film. “Those guys at the MCU, they know their stuff,” he told the outlet. “I haven’t had any problems with any of their casting choice so far. So whoever gets the job. I think Omar Sy did an excellent job as Bishop, but that was before MCU. If they chose him again, I think he’d kill it. There’s a few people out there. But if they’re willing to give me a shot, I’d go for it. Plus, I’ve done all the research already.”

Saweetie Hints At Upcoming Acting Role

Saweetie has teased an upcoming role in a “really big TV show” but has refused to say what show she will be appearing on. “Before the writers’ strike, I actually filmed with a really big TV show, so I’m really excited for whenever they decide to release it. I know it’s going to be a huge moment. They stripped me down: no lashes, barely any makeup, I had this wig on! They were like, “No lashes, take ‘em off!” And you know, I’m a lash girl, so I’m just like, “All right, cool. Let’s get into this acting bag, what’s up?!,” the singer told Billboard.

While she refused to name the show, she did give a hint with some of her lyrics. “I’m going to give you one of my lyrics: “Cocaina tiptoes/ Ride it like the whip stole/ Benjis in my bra when my titties need a lift though.” The answer’s in there!,” she teased the outlet. Previously, the singer has made appearances on Grown-ish and Bel-Air. What show do you think Saweetie will be appearing on? Let us know in the comments.

However, Saweetie is not the only songstress getting into acting. Megan Thee Stallion is taking her talents to Netflix’s popular animated comedy, Big Mouth. Megan was announced in a 48-second short dedicated to both her character and the Season 7 date reveal. She will play a caked-up hormone monster ready to cause trouble for the already embattled eighth-graders. While the show has proven divisive, Megan joins what is one of the most stacked casts on TV right now. Big Mouth already features Nick Kroll, John Mulaney, Jessi Klein, Jason Mantzoukas, and Ayo Edebiri.

However, Big Mouth is far from Megan’s only project in the works. She has a leading role in Dicks: The Musical, A24’s upcoming musical comedy. Furthermore, she is also reportedly in negotiations for a role in an upcoming project from the Safdie Brothers and Adam Sandler. While the nature of the project is unclear, the Safdies last directed Sandler in Uncut Gems.
