Since his release from prison in February, Bobby Shmurda has been bullied online for what some deem questionable dance moves. The hip gyrations have people wondering what happened to the Brooklyn rapper, but one of his NYC rap friends is defending him. Cardi B took to her Twitter to remind fans not to disrespect Bobby […]

Bobby Shmurda’s Confidence Is At An All-Time High With Quavo And Rowdy Rebel On ‘Shmoney’
Since his release from prison back in February, fans of Bobby Shmurda have been looking forward to new music from him. Unfortunately for their hopes, new songs from Bobby have come at a slower rate than they expected. Thankfully, with a couple of weeks left in the year, the New York rapper is back with a new track for them to enjoy and it’s a record that finds him paired with Quavo and longtime collaborator Rowdy Rebel. Together, the trio brings their talents together for “Shmoney.”
The new single is quite the boastful release as Bobby, Rowdy, and Quavo work together to deliver a money-focused anthem that’s propelled by stirring synths and a hard-hitting bass. “Shmoney” is also paired with a video that captures the three rappers as they take over a mansion to throw a massive party filled with luxury cars and a large cast of women that highlights their boss statuses.
“Shmoney” is Bobby’s third single of the year and follows his prior releases, “Splash” and his “No Time For Sleep” freestyle. While things may be looking good for him as we head into 2022, the new song comes after he alluded to some issues with the team around him. In an Instagram post earlier this month, Shmurda revealed he hasn’t had control of his music in nearly a decade. “I ain’t been in charge of my music since I was 19 years old and I jus turned 27 and honestly idk when shit dropping so don’t ask me shit go ask them mf’s since they wanna control everything!!!!!!!” he wrote in the post. Shmurda has been signed to Epic Records, who could be the source of his frustrations, since the summer of 2014

Bobby Shmurda Reveals He Recorded ‘Hot N***a’ for $20 in One Hour
Bobby Shmurda Says ‘Hot N****’ Only Cost $20 And Took One Hour To Record
Bobby Shmurda‘s come a long way since 2014, but all it took to change his life was one $20/hour recording session. The Brooklyn rapper sent an encouraging tweet to his fans, recalling the single that upended his trajectory and encouraging fans to chase their dreams.
“Too many people got a DREAM that they never chased, then go through life and be angry they never tried,” he wrote. “Let me remind y’all ‘Hot N****’ took 20$ for 1 hour of studio time in the hood to create and that 1 hour of FOCUS changed my life and everyone around me FOREVER.”

That track, which Bobby recorded at some point in 2013, borrowed the Jahlil Beats-produced beat from Lloyd Banks’ 2012 song “Jackpot” and became one of hip-hop’s first modern viral hits, setting the stage for the modern social phenom to legit rap star pipeline that spawned many of today’s biggest artists like Lil Nas X. The track peaked at No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 and made Bobby and his “Shmoney dance” from the music video household names.
While Bobby’s momentum was briefly curtailed by a stint in prison as the result of a racketeering investigation, since his release, he’s remained as popular as ever as fans await the release of his debut album.
Bobby Shmurda Claims He Hasn’t Had Control Over His Music For Nearly A Decade
Since Bobby Shmurda’s release from prison, fans have been extremely hopeful that the rapper would drop a project to commemorate his return to the world. Unfortunately, in the two months that followed, Shumrda has only released two singles — “No Time For Sleep Freestyle” and “Splash” — as well as “Tata (Remix),” a collaboration with Daddy Yankee, J Balvin, and Eladio Carrion. For those who’ve been wondering what’s the hold up with new music from Shmurda, the rapper gave a clue for what could be the issue in a post to Instagram that he quickly deleted moments later.
“I ain’t been in charge of my music since I was 19 years old and I jus turned 27 and honestly idk when shit dropping so don’t ask me shit go ask them mf’s since they wanna control everything!!!!!!!” an image he shared to Instagram read. Shmurda is currently signed to Epic Records with a management deal with Roc Nation so the rapper’s issues most likely lie with either or both of the labels.
Shmurda’s claim comes after revealing a collaboration he hopes to make a reality in the new future. “You know what the world needs,” he wrote in a tweet. “#BobbyShmurda & #Adele to make a Strip Club Anthem.”

Bobby Shmurda Wants To Collaborate With Adele On A ‘Strip Club Anthem’
Now that he’s out of jail, Bobby Shmurda, aka Ackquille Pollard, is taking Covid-19 seriously, back in the game, and listening to… Adele? The Brooklyn rapper had some thoughts about a potential collab with the 30 star, but frankly, his idea isn’t very realistic. Though Shmurda may or may not have been spinning 30 when he had the thought of Adele working on a “strip club anthem” with him, there’s nothing on Adele’s new record that would suggest she’d be down. However, would it be epic? Oh it certainly would be, so we have to give Shmurda credit there, for the creativity.
You Know what the world needs …. #BobbyShmurda & #Adele to make a Strip Club Anthem

“You know what the world needs,” the rapper began. ” #BobbyShmurda & #Adele to make a Strip Club Anthem.” As one would necessarily need to do in these situations, Shmurda followed the sentiment up with a crying smiley emoji. Perhaps Bobby noticed that within three days, 30 became the best-selling album of the entire year, and those numbers were just as motivating as his desire to make an anthem that sends the club up. Or, maybe he figured if Drake is friends with Adele, then she’s probably worth getting to know. Here’s a better idea, Bobby, hop on the remix of the fifteen minute version of “I Drink Wine” — win win.
Bobby Shmurda Looks To Make A ‘Splash’ With His Hungry New Single
Brooklyn rapper Bobby Shmurda has been steadily working toward a comeback ever since his release from prison earlier this year. In addition to returning to the stage at Rolling Loud — both the Miami and New York editions — he’s released a handful of new singles and guest appearances, including a remix to Eladio Carrion’s “Tata” with J Balvin and Daddy Yankee, the wide-eyed “No Time For Sleep Freestyle,” and now, his latest, the hungry “Splash.”
Over a sinister, piano-backed beat produced by Aloy and Danny Wolf, Bobby spits a tongue-twisting flow, cockily challenging foes with eye-popping taunts. His new, squelched delivery makes some of the bars harder to understand but “Splash” is much more about the vibe, creating the sensation of speeding down a highway so fast the tires of your vehicle leave the ground.
In addition to putting out new music, Bobby has also been on a philanthropic spree. In June, he arranged a “Father’s Day Give Back Brunch,” treating 200 families to a traditional Jamaican meal and giving out free haircuts for attendees. More recently, he sent 2,000 New York City students back to school with brand-new backpacks full of supplies, telling the kids at six schools “you guys are unstoppable.”
