Beyoncé Dons Black & White Balmain To Virtually Accept Her BRIT Awards: Video

There’s no one doing it quite like Beyoncé. Since making a triumphant return to the stage during her legendary performance in Dubai, the “Telephone” singer has continued to prove that her talent truly knows no bounds. Most recently, her hard work was recognized on Saturday (February 11) night at the BRIT Awards.

The Texas-born star didn’t make the flight overseas to accept her trophies in person. Instead, she gave a virtual speech to the crowd in London. As Daily Mail notes, Queen B won in two categories – International Artist of the Year and International Song of the Year for “BREAK MY SOUL.” Though she didn’t walk the event’s red carpet, she still made sure to dress up in designer duds before snapping a few photos for the ‘gram.

While thanking those who gave her the awards, Beyoncé said, “Thank you so much for this incredible recognition. I’d like to say thank you to all of my friends out there in Britain for your continuous support over the years.” Afterward, she reminded viewers that this is only the beginning of RENAISSANCE‘s three acts. “I’ll see y’all on tour,” the Destiny’s Child alum promised. “Thank you so much for this honour!”

In her IG photo dump, Bey proudly poses with one of her sleek new trophies. Looking as fashionable as ever, her black and white Balmain outfit perfectly hugs her curvy hips and behind. On the unique dresses’ arms, striped fur creates an unmissable air of luxury and fun.

The majority of headlines surrounding Beyoncé lately have been focusing on her undeniably successful RENAISSANCE album. The project had an impressive run at the Grammy Awards. Consequently, it led the singer to tie the record for most trophies granted to one artist. However, that’s not all people have been talking about.

During a chat with Art of Dialogue, Big Gipp shared his thoughts on Bey’s marriage to Jay-Z. During the interview, he specifically said that, if Tupac were still alive, the “Baby Boy” hitmaker would be with him instead of Hov. Beyoncé’s “CUFF IT – WETTER REMIX” Takes The Top Spot On Our “R&B Season” Playlist

Obviously, all most music lovers care about today (February 12) is the Rihanna concert, or should we say, the Super Bowl. Still, you obviously need music to stream while waiting for the big event to start, and for blasting as you celebrate your favourite team’s win after. Luckily for you, we’ve got plenty of new arrivals to talk about on our R&B Season playlist.

At the top of this weekend’s update is a two-time past Halftime show performer herself, Beyoncé. Since the arrival of RENAISSANCE last summer she’s been steadily delivering remixes or different versions of her disco-inspired song. After hearing several others take on the challenge, the mother of three finally released the “CUFF IT – WETTER REMIX.” It blends her own song with Twista’s vintage fan favourite.

Afterward, we hear from Maeta, who’s bringing “S(EX)” to our roster of R&B releases. “You know the vibes and we outside tonight / Just for old times I’II let you slide in my / Feelings,” her soft voice rings out. The sultry new single boasts production by OG Parker, G. Ry, and MesioMusic.

Holding things down for Canada today is Roy Woods. The “Snow White” singer had a strong 2022 thanks to releases like “Bad Bad,” “Insecure,” and “Speeding.” On his first solo track of the new year, “Don’t Love Me,” will potentially land on his forthcoming Mixed Emotions effort. Many details about that remain unknown, but he previously shared that Drake will be executive producing.

Our only collaboration on the latest R&B Season list comes from Lizzo and SZA. The powerhouse vocalists came together to remix the former’s “Special” single. It originally landed on her album of the same name last summer. It’s the first time we’ve heard the Detroit and Missouri natives work together musically, though it hopefully won’t be the last.

Next, we have Lucky Daye’s contribution to Magic Mike’s Last Dance soundtrack, “Careful,” which has already been streamed upwards of 75K times on Spotify since Friday’s debut. Additionally, from Kelela’s beautiful new Raven project, we’ve selected her single from earlier in the month – “Enough for Love.”

Stream our R&B Season update exclusively on Spotify below. Afterward, tell us which of this week’s new additions you’ve been loving in the comments. Finally, find more music recommendations from NAV, Shy Glizzy, and more on our Fire Emoji playlist here.

Megan Fox & Machine Gun Kelly Split Rumours Swirl, Actress Quotes Beyoncé’s “LEMONADE”

Machine Gun Kelly and Megan Fox are well known throughout Hollywood for their various talents, from modelling and starring in movies to making music with legends. Outside of their work, though, they’ve also constantly made headlines due to the sheer intensity of their romantic relationship. They announced their engagement to the world a little over a year ago. Unfortunately, recent rumours reveal that all future wedding plans may be off.

As PEOPLE reports, the mother of three’s fans felt upset on Sunday (February 12) when they saw she’s rid every trace of her beau from her Instagram. To make matters worse, she shared an upload quoting Beyoncé’s LEMONADE album. The project finds the vocalist markedly airing out her own feelings regarding Jay-Z’s infidelity. Specifically, Fox picked the emotional number “Pray You Catch Me” to express her emotions.

“You can taste the dishonesty / It’s all over your breath,” she wrote earlier today. The dump begins with the Transformers starlet looking at herself in the mirror while rocking an all-black ensemble. The back of her hair sits in a bun, and two long strands of black hair frame her face. After showing off her mirror selfies, Fox added a video of an envelope burning in a fire pit.

Of course, it wasn’t long before speculation about the situation began to brew in the comments. “Pete Davidson has entered the chat,” one user joked. Of course, the comedian has been spending time with Chase Sui Wonders following a brief fling with Emily Ratajkowski. “Deleted all photos of MGK and started following Eminem,” someone else pointed out after some sleuthing.

@meganfox/Instagram

Other potential theories speculate that Fox could be foreshadowing Rihanna’s Super Bowl Halftime show. “Rihanna [will likely] have a guest performer… I’m pretty sure it’s Eminem,” one user wrote. “Megan was in the ‘Love the Way You Lie’ music video. Her recent posts are DV related… It just so happens that the day of the Super Bowl she makes a post about lying and burning and following Eminem?” For now, it’s all just hearsay, but celebrities have been known to engage in similar antics in the past.

Aside from the possible demise of her romantic relationship, Fox has been busy pouring into the resurgence of her acting career. In 2022, she appeared in projects like Taurus, Big Gold Brick, and Good Mourning with MGK. She also will appear as Alana Hart in the upcoming Johnny & Clyde film.

For her latest endeavour, the Jennifer’s Body actress is preparing to star in Subservience opposite Michele Morrone. The film finds the 365 Days lead playing a single father who purchases a SIM to assist him with home and child care. As she gears up to begin filming, Fox debuted a new blonde bombshell hairstyle on Instagram that she’ll likely be sporting while in character. See for yourself here, and check back later for any updates on Megan’s relationship with MGK.

Beyoncé & Tupac Would Be A Couple If Late Rapper Was Alive, Big Gipp Claims

Of the many superstar couples in the music industry, Beyoncé and Jay-Z are undoubtedly one of the most successful. Of course, their relationship hasn’t been without its struggles – markedly the time Hov spent getting friendly with “Becky with the good hair.” Still, they’ve maintained a united front through it all. According to Big Gipp, if Tupac were still alive today, he would be the one romancing the Houston native, not her husband.

The Goodie Mob member spoke with Art of Dialogue recently. He obviously didn’t hold back on speculating about the love that could’ve grown between Bey and ‘Pac. It all began when Gipp was asked about Billboard and Vibe‘s “greatest rappers of all time” list, ranking Jay-Z at No. 1 and his deceased contemporary at No. 4. Like many other hip-hop heads, the 49-year-old wasn’t in total agreeance with the artist’s placements.

“To me, Tupac… Only reason you inching Jay-Z past Tupac is because he got goddamn Beyoncé,” the Atlanta native began. “You take Beyoncé away, he ain’t got shit. Bar for bar? Yeah, he might rap better than ‘Pac, but ‘Pac came with the heart. That’s different, it’s just different. You can never beat the heart, bro.”

Gipp went on to point out that, while some artists are undeniably technically talented, others have a natural swagger that gives them the needed edge. “Just like the difference between Jordan and LeBron,” he explained. “Jordan, technical. That motherf*cker technical. LeBron? Gangster. Goon shit. Two different styles. If ‘Pac was here, who do you think the girl would have been with?”

Later in the same interview, the “Cell Therapy” hitmaker points out that Tupac had a budding acting career before his untimely death. “That boy was a triple threat. He did groups that was successful, solo albums that was successful and movies that was successful,” Gipp said of his late friend. “Hands down. If he had lived, he would have smoked everything walking.”

As it turns out, Big Gipp has been spilling plenty of tea about the industry lately. Apart from his thoughts on the relationship that Beyoncé and Tupac could have had, he also recalled the time the “All Eyez On Me” rapper famously confronted Biggie Smalls. The altercation took place at the Soul Train Awards decades ago – read all about it here, and check back later for more hip-hop news updates.

Twista Teased Plans To Update Beyoncé’s ‘Cuff It’ Remix With A Verse Of His Own

Beyoncé‘s Renaissance proves to be the gift that keeps on giving. Last weekend, the album won a Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album. And with several groovy, hypnotic tracks, who could deny that?

Ahead of the Grammys, Bey released a remix of her viral single, “Cuff It.” Set to the beat of Twista’s 2009 hit, “Wetter,” the “Cuff It (Wetter Remix)” features Bey delivering new harmonies, ad-libs, runs, and additional lyrics. Though Twista’s vocals aren’t sampled or replicated on the remix, he has revealed he wants to give the track an update of his own.

This week, Twista spoke with The Neighborhood Talk and teased a remix to the remix.

The blog asked him if he planned to add to the track. The rapper replied, “Working on it as we speak.”

Of course, as Beyoncé is known to work in secret, Twista didn’t reveal much else, but needless to say, we’re excited about this collab.

While tickets for the Renaissance World Tour may break the bank, and there are no signs of Bey dropping the album’s accompanying visuals anytime soon, she continues to keep fans fed with reimaginings of our favorite tracks.

In the meantime, you can stream “Cuff It (Wetter Remix)” on all digital music platforms here.

Twista Working On Remix To Beyoncé’s “Cuff It” After 2009’s “Wetter” Was Sampled

A remix you didn’t know was on the horizon will soon arrive from Twista. The fast-rapping music icon has reportedly worked on his version of Beyoncé’s acclaimed “Cuff It.” The Renaissance track’s original version was already enough for fans, but after DJ Esentrik chopped and screwed the song, it became a TikTok hit. Esentrik blended Twista’s 2009 single “Wetter” with “Cuff It,” slowing down the dance hit to make it a body-rolling R&B jam.

Earlier this week, Twista paid homage to “Wetter” on his Instagram page. Today (February 9), The Neighborhood Talk reported they spoke with the Chi-Town star, who confirmed that he’s working on his version of a “Cuff It” remix. “Working on it as we speak,” he was said to have exclaimed. This news was well-received by Hip Hop and R&B lovers who can’t wait to hear what he’s come up with.

Esentrik’s Twista-infused “Cuff It” remix wasn’t lost on Beyoncé, who decided to release it as an official single. “Soooo I’ve been hiding this for awhile and now I can finally say it!” Estrentik tweeted. “CUFF IT WETTER REMIX IS OFFICIAL! Thank you to @beyonce @parkwood and most importantly the DJs and fans that supported this from the start! Love to all!” Bey even added another verse to the track to spice things up.

Meanwhile, “Cuff It” was a big winner for Beyoncé at last weekend’s Grammy Awards. The track helped Bey become the most awarded artist in Grammy history, and in her speech, the singer thanked God, her family, and the queer community for their “love.” She said, “I’m trying not to be too emotional. I’m trying to just receive this night.” Despite her accomplishment, people still believed she deserved Album of the Year.

That title went to Harry Styles, who dominated the charts and social media spaces as well. Still, complaints poured in, and even Jay-Z recognized that The Recording Academy often misses important moments in music history. As news of the Renaissance Tour heats up—and rumors that it’s just the first of a trilogy take storm—the world is preparing for much more Beyoncé, sooner than later.

Beyoncé’s Ivy Park Partnership With Adidas Slated To End This Year. Now, What?

Beyonce Ivy Park

Beyoncé is on the brink of leaving the prominent company Adidas after reports surfaced that the two sides haven’t been able to communicate on the marketing front. The partnership started in 2019. The “Break My Soul” artist may have to find a new partner now that it seems her clothing brand Ivy Park and Adidas […]

The post Beyoncé’s Ivy Park Partnership With Adidas Slated To End This Year. Now, What? appeared first on SOHH.com.

The Things Beyoncé And Adidas Can Do To Save Ivy Park

Earlier this week, it was reported that Ivy Park, the co-branded clothing line from Beyoncé and Adidas, was underperforming. A lot.

Projected to make $200 million last year, internal documents seen by The Wall Street Journal confirmed that the collection had only pulled in $40 million, despite customers reporting sellouts and difficulty purchasing products online.

Obviously, when Adidas hooked up with Beyoncé in 2019 (after Ivy Park’s partnership with TopShop was ended over accusations of improper conduct by cofounder Philip Green), the expectation was for Beyoncé’s incomparable celebrity to do most of the heavy lifting in terms of sales.

Unfortunately, that’s not how things panned out; while Adidas’ similar partnership with Kanye West yielded nearly $2 billion in sales until Ye himself torpedoed that profitable alliance with his deplorable views, Adidas is reportedly figuring out how to revamp the Ivy Park deal.

Now, I’m no fashion expert, but I’ve made some observations using fan feedback on social media that might explain why the collection fell short of expectations. It’s no fun to look at the “why” without also offering some solutions, so that’s what we’re going to do here. The thing is, I want Beyoncé to win, both because I like success stories more than failure ones, and because I know that when Black folks fail, it makes the people in charge hesitant to extend future opportunities.

Here are five things that Adidas and Beyoncé can do to save Ivy Park.

Pick A Side

While the most recent drop focused on outdoorsy aesthetics like parkas and camouflage, prior collections have been a rather confusing jumble of athleisure and couture. Designs that wouldn’t be out of place on a runway fight for space with workout gear that looks more flashy than functional. The time has come to decide just what kind of brand Ivy Park really is.

As a prime example; my girlfriend has two Ivy Park trenchcoats in her closet at the moment. Both are beautiful in their way, but they are also big, ungainly things that don’t really do much to keep her warm and take up a lot of space when we try to go out (they’re both made of mesh, so rain goes right through them). By contrast, the TopShop collection included staples like yoga pants and sports bras — stuff people actually wear.

Given the line is a partnership with Adidas, moving in a more sportswear-inspired direction could provide some much-needed focus. Bey’s attempts at high fashion could be spun off to another label, or even a separate division, like Adidas’ own luxury Y-3 line. I’m sure there are tons of Beyoncé fans who’d love to run their errands in their Ivy Park sweatpants or hit spin class in some bike shorts with a touch of Beyoncé style. Give them that!

Get Back To Basics

While Adidas reported that nearly half of the produced items weren’t selling, fans said the coveted items they wanted were gone before they could grab them. What gives?

Well, considering fans also spent a fair amount of time each drop making fun of items like denim chaps, the problem seems pretty clear to me. Longtime Beyoncé fans probably aren’t surprised by some of the funkier designs. She had similar issues with her first clothing line, House of Dereon, in the early ’00s. But, honestly, how many music fans ride horses on the regular? Dropping the gimmicky items could save a lot of time and effort and allow Adidas to stick to what it’s great at: comfy sportswear.

The foundations of most clothing brands are basics that customers can mix and match, dress up or down, and that won’t break the bank. Pointing to some of Adidas’ competitors, Champion and Nike do steady business with sweatsuits, T-shirts, and even underwear and socks. I think Ivy Park can offer those things and if they need a little more pizzazz, just remember: it’s all in the details. Keep it simple!

Stop Doing Drops

One of the main complaints about the most recent Ivy Park drop is its timing. With the Renaissance World Tour just months away, the BeyHive is already smashing its collective piggy banks for tickets. Why make them make a choice?

Relatedly, this drop is very woodsy, with parkas and cargo pants, but spring is right around the corner! Who wants to buy fall/winter stuff in February, knowing they might even receive their orders until March?

It’s understandable why Adidas (or Bey) went with the streetwear model; it’s worked for brands like Telfar, and of course, Yeezy products did gangbusters.

But it’s also important to understand the differences in their respective strategies and fan bases. Telfar does do drops, but it also does plentiful restocks and has a few reliable base models it always comes back to, allowing fans who missed out multiple chances.

And Beyoncé fans aren’t hypebeasts, although they display similar behavior sometimes. They want to support their fave, but they aren’t the type to line up outside a sneaker store overnight for a release. Moving away from streetwear drops to just having a consistently available clothing line might make all the difference.

Make It Easier To Buy The Clothes

Speaking of sneaker stores, one of the more common complaints I’ve seen about Ivy Park on social media is how hard it is to get. It’s only available in select brick-and-mortar retailers, so once the bots clean out the website, fans are left hunting down the nearest Adidas outlet and hoping they get there before the bones are picked over.

If they can find the style and size they want, the price is often a lot higher than many are excited about paying. Regular folks’ disposable income has become more precious than ever as rent, gas, food, childcare, and other expenses pile up. And if it comes down to the decision between a new Ivy Park hoodie and the Renaissance vinyl box set… fans will stick with what Beyoncé herself is best at.

So, lower the price and put it in more stores. This kills the “exclusivity” aspect, sure, but since when was liking Beyoncé supposed to be exclusive?

Open Up

The final point spins off that “what Beyoncé is best at” line above. Although many of her performance lewks are iconic, Beyoncé herself is kind of a recluse. One of the major selling points of Yeezy is that you always saw Kanye outside, wearing his own clothes, making the desirability for those clothes — however goofy they might have been — go up.

The Journal reported that this was kind of a sticking point in the partnership, as well. Beyoncé is a notoriously private person. She doesn’t leave the house unless it’s to go to the studio, rehearsal, or on tour. But she may need to get over that reticence and start to open up. With social media, she still doesn’t need to actually go outside, but her curated professional-shot timeline just isn’t gonna cut it.

We’re in the era where stars like Cardi B, Doja Cat, Lizzo, and Megan Thee Stallion do livestreams just hanging out at home listening to music and talking to fans. They do silly TikToks lip-syncing and dancing and trying out food trends. Beyoncé comes from a different era, but that doesn’t mean she can’t adapt. One of the main reasons she has a Hive is because people want to hang out with her. Let them. And if you’re rocking an Ivy Park T-shirt while you do it, don’t be surprised when they become an even hotter commodity than ever.
