DJ Akademiks Accuses Kendrick Lamar Of Using Cardi B’s PR Team To Win Him The Drake Beef

DJ Akademiks says that Kendrick Lamar’s team behind the scenes played a critical role in defeating Drake in their viral feud from earlier this year. Discussing the beef during a recent livestream, Ak argued that Lamar locked down some of the best people in the industry to help him out.

“I’m saying this with all due respect. I like Drake, I think a quarter of the reason people think that Drake lost. I said ‘quarter’ I didn’t say the majority. It’s because Drake don’t got no team. Yo, Kendrick got a team right now. Kendrick got the Avengers. I know the n****s. He got the Avengers. The n****s who run Kendrick’s sh*t used to run Cardi B’s sh*t, used to run all the popping sh*t. They did Nas’ sh*t when Nas did 50. They’re the guys. Kendrick got the guys.”

From there, Akadeimks brought up the NFL selecting Lamar to perform at the Super Bowl LIX Halftime Show. “You don’t just get the Super Bowl because somebody picks your name out of a hat,” he said. “It’s a song and a dance. It’s almost like an audition. Kendrick has the right people.” He then argued that Drake needs to get the right industry people in his corner going forward. Despite the feud cooling off in recent months, Drake did hint at preparing for a “Game 2” on his Instagram Story.

Fans Think J Cole Dissed Drake On New Daylyt Collab And Here’s Why

J Cole and Drake have a strained relationship at this point. At least, professionally. The two rappers spent most of 2023 in buddy mode, with multiple collabs and tour dates under their belt. Then, Kendrick Lamar showed up and caused a rift. Drake went to war the the good kid, and Cole decided to bow out and flip sides. J Cole’s list of collaborators since the whole “Big Three” battle went down is notable. Most have been artists who were explicitly anti-Drake during said battle. ASAP Rocky, Future and Metro Boomin, and now, Daylyt.

J Cole and Daylyt linked up for the excellent song “A Plate of Collard Greens” on September 23. The song sees both emcees dropping stellar wordplay, per usual. J Cole’s verse, however, seemingly has multiple references to Drizzy. The Dreamville founder goes on an extended riff about the King of Pop, Michael Jackson. An artist that Drake has compared himself to multiple times over the years, with the most notable example being on his J Cole collab, “First Person Shooter.” The collab even allowed him to tie MJ for most number one singles by a male solo artist.

J Cole Lyrically Riffs On Drake’s MJ Obsession

“Dangerous as the king of pop, how well they spin your block,” J Cole spits. “No moves, minimal, smooth criminals.” The rapper has boasted about his status as the greatest in the past, but he’s never tipped his hat to MJ in particular. The next line also applies to Drake. “The whole gang doin’ insane amount of lean,” he raps. “This ain’t prescribed ’cause there’s no doc’ for pain they harboring.” Drake and Lil Durk have a new song on the way in which the former talks about quitting lean. The collab, which was played by Adin Ross on September 4, is titled “Discontinuing Wokhardt.” “Discontinuing Wokhardt,” Drake sings during the chorus. “But still do I pop now.”

Cole spends the rest of his “A Plate of Collard Greens” verse talking about those who fein truth in their verses. No names are mentioned, but the specificity of his references shouldn’t be ignored. The rapper doesn’t choose his words carelessly. Trae the Truth also confirmed that J Cole’s upcoming album, The Fall Off, is on its way. We can only imagine how many possible subliminals will be littered throughout.

Metro Boomin Claims He Has “Love And Respect” For Drake After Feud

Metro Boomin was the architect of 2024’s biggest hip hop story. He was the one who got Kendrick Lamar to appear on his joint single with Future, “Like That.” The reverberations of that diss track will be felt for years to come. Metro Boomin effectively kicked off the war against Drake. He even dropped his own diss instrumental with “BBL Drizzy.” Things have cooled off since Kendrick Lamar went scorched Earth with “Not Like Us,” and the producer has been given some time to reflect on the feud. He talked about his feelings on the matter during the Forbes 30 Under 30 Summit.

Metro Boomin was asked about the Drake and Kendrick Lamar situation by the moderator. He clarified that he does not have any ill will towards the artists involved. Drake included. “I have love and respect for all my collaborators,” he asserted. “I just want to see everybody do their best and continue to help push this forward.” The “this” he referred to is the genre of hip hop. Metro Boomin noted that competition is good for the genre, and that the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle brought out the best in both artists.

Metro Boomin Believes Competition Is Good For Hip Hop

“You’re supposed to feel like you’re the best,” the producer noted. “With two of the top dogs in the game and you both feel like you’re the best… we gotta have a showdown.” The competition was something the producer likened to the JAY-Z and Nas battle from 2001. The way the fans consumed the battle, though, was another story. Metro Boomin felt like the fans took things too seriously, and resorted to picking sides instead of enjoying the talent displayed on both sides. “It’s more like Stan culture,” he noted. “It makes it kind of weird.”

Both Metro Boomin and Drake did his fair share of trolling on social media, to be fair. Metro produced the aforementioned “BBL Drizzy” beat and dropped it on SoundCloud. He also started a challenge in which he encouraged independent artists to diss Drake over the beat. One could argue the producer is being hypocritcal, but his point stands. “The internet just makes it a little too wild,” he added. It’s nice to know Metro Boomin still appreciates Drake as an artist, even if the chances of them linking up for a collab are slim to none.

Nicki Minaj Goes Off On Music Exec Steve Stoute Over Tidal Claims

Nicki Minaj and JAY-Z are not on good terms these days. The rapper called out Hov for failing to pick her mentor, Lil Wayne, as the Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner. She also criticized the Roc Nation founder for not paying what she felt she was owed for her Tidal deal in 2015. She made her frustration with these situations clear via social media. Former Interscope CEO Steve Stoute tried to shed light on the Tidal deal during a recent podcast appearance, but Nicki Minaj didn’t want to hear it. She doubled down on her issues and instead turned her ire towards the music executive.

Steve Stoute discussed Nicki Minaj’s dubious Tidal deal on The Pivot Podcast. He claimed that she failed to make the money she felt she was owed because paperwork wasn’t properly filled out. “You didn’t sign the f**king paperwork,” Stoute explained. “That’s the reason why you left millions of dollars on the table, that man didn’t do nothing to you.” Stoute defended JAY-Z’s role in the Tidal deal, and proceeded to call out Nicki Minaj for behaving in a manner he considered “wrong.” Minaj was not swayed. She felt she was mislead by Hov and the rest of the Tidal team. She said as much on Twitter.

Nicki Minaj Claims She Was ‘Scammed’ Out Of $1 Million

“I received a call advising Tidal was sold,” Nicki Minaj tweeted after Stoute’s podcast comments. “And they made no money on the deal so all they could offer me was a million dollars. But wait, there’s more. The lawyer advised that Desirat advised him that I HAD TO SIGN THE AGREEMENT IN 24 HOURS IF I WANTED THE 1MM or the offer was off the table.” The rapper proceeded to tell her fans that Hov and company basically scammed her out of a sizable payday. A payday she was promised well before the streaming platform sold in 2021.

“I was scammed & offered a million dollars to be silenced,” Nicki Minaj alleged. “I declined. The grace of God is sufficient. I didn’t need their hush money…” Minaj has been widely criticized for her public attacks on JAY-Z. As evidenced by these tweets, however, she remains steadfast. She even tweeted lyrics from a 2014 song of her that seemingly addressed her “difficult” reputation. As far as she’s concerned, she’s in the right as long as sticks with people that are loyal to her. JAY-Z and Steve Stoute do not make the cut.

Aubrey O’Day Shares Song She Wrote About Diddy A Decade Ago

Aubrey O’Day has been a very outspoken voice against Diddy even before this wave of hefty allegations, and she recently sought to show it. Moreover, she shared an old 2013 track of hers on social media which talks about her strained relationship with him as a result of her getting fired from Danity Kane and the debacle that ensued. The lyrics touch on “no escape,” dead ends, debt, and the singer wishing that she never got in that situation in the first place. It’s hard to connect all the dots with this brief snippet down below, but it’s still an interesting retrospective.

“The purpose of justice is to provide an ending and allow us the space to create a new chapter,” Aubrey O’Day tweeted after Diddy’s arrest. “Women never get this. I feel validated. Today is a win for women all over the world, not just me. Things are finally changing.” “He did worse than that to me,” she responded to a reporter who noted how folks criticized her for her previous condemnations against him. “And thank you Yashir for this post. Appreciate you being in my corner and believing me. Xo.”

Aubrey O’Day’s Old Diddy Song

“There’s no vindication for anyone to have,” Aubrey O’Day expressed concerning the Diddy and Cassie hotel video. “Sadly, if you’re a victim of anyone at any point in time in life, this will ring true to you: There’s no such thing as vindication. It never goes away. It’s never better. And even when people are exposed, it doesn’t take away the experience. I suppose [being vindicated] gives you more credibility. But if you believe in yourself, anyone else’s belief in you doesn’t really matter much anyway. So, no, I don’t feel that.”

Diddy did not apologize to Cassie,” Aubrey O’Day said of his apology to his former partner. “He apologized to the world for seeing what he did. He says he’s ‘disgusted w himself now, and he was disgusted w himself then’.. but apparently he wasn’t disgusted enough w himself to not PIN this statement out calling her a liar & denying all of it.. leave god and mercy out of this, they aren’t present here, and you know it.”

Azealia Banks Randomly & Viciously Drags SZA For “Ugly” RZA Collaboration

Azealia Banks is verbally attacking SZA once more, and this may be her most scathing set of comments yet. According to HipHopDX, the New York singer and rapper appears to be going after the R&B phenom for no reason whatsoever over a past RZA team-up. As per usual, she took to X (Twitter) and kicked things off by saying, “Sza is really such an ugly person for having rza on her album after asking me to be on it, Me politely and honestly declining, after news of him trying to pimp me out to Russell Crowe broke. That was really a huge slap in the face and truest sign of a b**** who will always be ugly”.

Then, after attacking her character, Banks insulted SZA’s looks. “Sis can get all the procedures in the world. She’ll always be that insecure fat Muslim girl from New Jersey with the big chin and the gay husband”. Then, she kicked dirt in the SOS creator’s face by placing a crude “curse” on her. “Cursed with a lifetime supply of fresh out the bootyhole d**k in her mouth for eternity… Lmfao b**** ya p**sy HARAM FOH”. This all appears to be in relation to Ctrl, as SZA did have the Wu-Tang affiliate assist her in rolling out the 2017 project.

Azealia Banks Is Going After SZA Again

But this appears to have cut even deeper for Banks, as she references the Russell Crowe incident in her first tweet. If you remember back in 2016, Azealia was on pace to sign a record deal with RZA. However, that all came to a crashing end after the two MC’s attended a party at the actor’s home. Banks claimed to be physically removed and that she was also verbally and physically attacked by Crowe. RZA defended his friend, saying that Banks was “erratic” and “obnoxious” and that she was instigating things first. Since then, she has had beef with both males and SZA seems to be collateral in a sense with this rant.

More Tweets From Banks

What are your thoughts on Azealia Banks unleashing on SZA for her past work with RZA? Do you think this is all stemming from the rapper’s past issues with the R&B star? Could you see the latter responding, or even RZA? Whose side are you taking? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Soulja Boy Says He Would’ve “Killed” Diddy’s “B*tch Ass” If He Ever Tried Him

Soulja Boy says he would’ve “killed” Diddy if he ever “tried” him. He made the fiery remark on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday night after authorities arrested the Bad Boy mogul on alleged charges of sex trafficking and racketeering. “If Diddy ever tried me like any of these gay rappers I would have killed his b*tch ass,” Soulja posted.

In the replies, fans shared plenty of laughs on the matter. “Soulja Boy the 1st rapper to say he would’ve killed Diddy if he tried him,” one user posted. Another wrote: “Bro waited until the threat was neutralized to say this.” Others resurfaced images of Soulja appearing to interact with Diddy peacefully in the past.

It’s not the first time Soulja has trolled Diddy on social media in the wake of the allegations. Earlier this year, prior to Diddy’s arrest, he was streaming on Instagram when he noticed he and a friend were wearing the same hoodie. “This n***a got the same hoodie, no Diddy, man,” he said at the time. “I ain’t on that Meek Mill-Diddy sh*t. I ain’t on no Diddy sh*t, man. He just so happened to get the same hoodie I got. I ain’t on that Diddy sh*t, bro. I ain’t f*cking with that Diddy sh*t. No Diddy, n***a. On my momma. Everybody say, ‘No Diddy.’”

Soulja Boy Speaks On Diddy

Diddy pleaded not guilty to the charges in court on Tuesday. After failing to get out on bail, he’s currently behind bars at the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn. TMZ reported over the weekend that he’s on suicide watch, but his attorney, Marc Agnifilo, explained it’s a standard measure for “new, high-profile inmates.” Be on the lookout for further updates on Soulja Boy and Diddy on HotNewHipHop.

Nicki Minaj Seemingly Calls Diddy Jay-Z’s “BFF” While Blasting Steve Stoute’s TIDAL Claims

You probably already witness how Nicki Minaj engaged in various rants against Jay-Z and company over the past two weeks or so. These stem from the Kendrick Lamar Super Bowl halftime show, since she defended Lil Wayne, accused Hov of being a hater, and even talked smack about her TIDAL deal with him that she allegedly never saw proper payment for. But Roman isn’t done yet. On Saturday (September 21), she saw how Steve Stoute and others have tried to disprove her claims and paint her to be a liar. Then, the Trinidadian MC went scorched Earth and even mocked Jay for his proximity to Diddy amid the latter’s legal scandal.

I love knowing you’re always thinking about me,” Nicki Minaj shaded to a mystery target to start things off on Saturday afternoon (Eastern Time). “I’m such a tease. the morning of every show you pop up trying to taste my pussy. But no. You may not. Ugly.” Afterwards, she went into alleged details of the TIDAL fallout. “I received a call advising tidal was sold & they made no money on the deal so all they could offer me was a million dollars. but wait, there’s more! The lawyer advised that Desirat advised him that I HAD TO SIGN THE AGREEMENT IN 24 HOURS IF I WANTED THE 1MM or the ‘offer’ was off the table. Listen to the end of ‘Fractions’ for what my response was.”

Nicki Minaj’s Latest Diddy/Jay-Z/Steve Stoute Twitter Tirade At Press Time

“So Barbz, thank you for supporting something I was a part of,” Nicki Minaj continued in another tweet. “I love you. But I was scammed & offered a million dollars to be silenced. I declined. The grace of God is sufficient. I didn’t need their hush money. #GagCityLosAngeles TONIGHT & TMRW NIGHT! My documentary was also…” “lol. Word,” she responded to a Shade Room report of TIDAL partners’ payouts. “One of the blogs that they ‘reportedly’ have lots of control of. Why is my photo there? Oh. ‘Reportedly’ huh? Lol yall im rlly laughing @ how ppl who aren’t rlly smart always believe they are out smarting smart ppl. No, it’s just that we know karma spins. It rlly spins.” “Every day a new man pushing 60 years of age gets fingered in the bussy then made to come on this internet & lie on me,” Nicki added.

More Tweets From The Rant

Finally, Nicki Minaj seemed to dismiss Steve Stoute’s claims that she just didn’t sign the proper TIDAL paperwork. In her final series of tweets (at press time), she referenced the Diddy scandal. “They gotta keep the conversation on me so that no one asks about these charges against their BFF. I mean it seems the 30 year old tea here is FAR from stale. Patterns. Yet. SAS, UGLY ALIEN, STOUT, d**k breath, etc all talking about Onika ? Why they talking bout Oniqua?!?!?!” “Worried about the tea of a 15 year old child who was railroaded but no comments on the tea & baby oil that’s been going on for decades & as recent as months ago?!?!!! If 15 year olds need to be held accountable & told they can’t ever move past their past, then what about the 30 year olds who groomed & groomed, sat by & was silent, etc. oh right. Let’s keep the blogs focused on Oniqua. Short & Stoute d**k don’t wanna talk bout him friend dem??! LMFAO.”

Kimora Lee Tags Russell Simmons In Mysterious Instagram Post Amid Legal Battle

Russell Simmons is still battling his ex Kimora Lee in court on accusations that she stole money from him to bail her ex-husband out. This is just one of the many legal troubles he faces these days following a litany of sexual assault and harassment allegations against him over the years. But Kimora isn’t done with the music executive yet, as she randomly tagged him in an Instagram Story. No picture, no caption, nothing: just his tag on a black screen. Moreover, some fans theorize that she’s just trying to get his attention and reach out to communicate, whereas others feel like she could make a claim or allegations about this whole process.

“I have never spoken to a policeman about anything,” Russell Simmons said of people still in contact with him, although it’s more in the context of his supporters than his detractors amid this process. “I have never spoken to a judge, civil or criminal, about anything. From what I can tell, Joe Biden, Bill Clinton, President Trump, all have more credible claims against them than I do. Knock it off. I love you, I just don’t want my friends attacked. I wish you all the best, but just leave my friends alone. Don’t attack them for visiting me.”

Why Did Kimora Lee Tag Russell Simmons?

As such, some folks will probably criticize Kimora Lee for even reaching out, but this is far too vague to make heads or tails of. Another big controversy around the family that she and Russell Simmons had to address was their daughter’s age gap relationship. “I don’t think she ‘had’ an anything,” Kimora said of Aoki. “I think that was just… She’s a young pretty girl, and you know, I think that we don’t think that the toads that we may kiss [are] gonna be like broadcasted… I personally feel a little bit like she was set up, which is why I try to teach the girls.”

Meanwhile, Diddy’s ex bodyguard recently claimed that Russell Simmons influenced his lifestyle. Considering the many harrowing accusations against both men, it’s probably not a very flattering comparison for either music mogul to receive.
