6ix9ine Turning A New Leaf, Giving Out Money To People

6ix9ine did a pretty cool move recently. The man went down to the Dominican Republic to visit the people and give them the surprise of their lives. Seen in a video via his Instagram, as well as posted on DJ Akademiks’ Insta page, the rapper is seen hugging a bunch of crying ladies as he hands out handfuls of money to each person. He even hands a small stack of bills to a child being held by their mother. One older woman was crying and talking throughout the whole ordeal, with 6ix9ine offering her a couple of stacks and a big hug.

Later, he heads over to a group of kids. He explains to the camera that the eldest child is watching over everyone else while their mother is out working. For the first few people, he’s handing out crisp American $100 bills. For the kids, however, he hands $500k pesos to his partner in crime, internet personality Stephen Deleonardis (a.k.a. Steve WillDoIt). Steve hands the pesos to the main boy, with 6ix9ine saying it’s for them to have a better life. He talked to all of them in Spanish.

Born Daniel Hernandez, the hip-hop artist has a checkered past that involves a child sexual performance charge, a shopping mall choking incident, robbery, assault, kidnapping, shooting, and domestic violence.

He has also feuded with music industry heavy hitters, including Trippie Redd, Chief Keef, Ariana Grande, and Justin Bieber. However, it looks like he has turned a new leaf. Playfully, 6ix9ine covered his eyebrows as his boo got close to him with the mechanic razor, avoiding what would’ve been a viral moment. When Cardi B’s name gets caught up in hip-hop drama, it’s most often affiliated with her contemporaries, such as Nicki Minaj. Of course, she has had her share of issues with male artists too, including 6ix9ine. Years ago it was speculated that the “GOOBA” artist named Cardi as a member of the Nine Trey Bloods. At the time, he was working with police as an informant. The Grammy Award winner’s team has since shut down those allegations. Still, 6ix9ine has been known to throw shade at his fellow New Yorker in more recent years.

Back in February 2021, the embattled star publicly dissed Cardi, and while he was dating his ex-girlfriend, Jade, their feud only became more intense. During a new interview on the Alofoke Radio Show, 6ix9ine admitted that his last relationship is what caused a major wedge between him and the 30-year-old. More recently, the controversial artist has been spending time with Yailin Hablan, who appeared alongside him in the sit-down. The entire conversation was recorded in Spanish, but everyone in the room’s passion and good humour still shines through. According to 6ix9ine’s new girl, both of them are supporters of Cardi now.

6ix9ine Drops Surprise Reggaeton Album, “Leyenda Viva”

6ix9ine has temporarily shifted away from rap. Today, he surprised fans with the release of his third studio album, Leyenda Viva. The album is reggaeton and entirely in Spanish. It consists of 11 tracks and features minimal collaborations. However, Latin Grammy-winning artist Lenier appears on seven of them. For those who don’t speak Spanish, the title translates to “Living Legend.” One of the songs included on the album is “Y Ahora.” It was previously released as a single and draws inspiration from regional Mexican music. This track was a collaboration with the Mexican band Guapo Firme.

Leyenda Viva marks 6ix9ine’s first full studio album in three years. It follows his sophomore release, TattleTales, released in 2020. That project debuted at No. 4 on the Billboard 200, with 53,000 album-equivalent units sold in its first week. However, Billboard’s rules have since changed. This has unsurprisingly prompting 6ix9ine to express grievances against the publication. He criticized the rule that excludes merch bundles from counting towards chart placements. The rapper claims that it was implemented after he sold over three million dollars’ worth of merchandise for his single “Gooba.” Whether or not that is true is not clear.

Is 6ix9ine Leaving Rap Behind?

In addition to releasing a full album, 6ix9ine also dropped a video for his new single, “Pa Ti.” The song features a female artist named Yailin la Mas Viral. The video features the two mostly performing to camera in front of a lavish looking house in a tropical setting. While this new direction of 6ix9ine’s has been in the works for a while, many have criticized it. Some accused him of being a culture vulture, doing rap when it suited him and then moving on to something else. 6ix9ine, as always, had a strong response to the criticism.

“You know how many Spanish n*ggas is born and raised… in the whole of New York City? What ya’ll trying to say, Spanish n*ggas can’t eat? When you Spanish, you can only make Reggaeton?” 6ix9ine said in an Instagram video. “It’s our culture, too, n*gga…” 6ix9ine sounds angry in the clip as he makes his feelings clear. He went on to talk about his accomplishments as a Spanish-speaking rapper. “Name one Spanish rapper other than me… that can enter the top 10 on Billboard… Y’all just mad because I can enter a whole different demographic in the Spanish market. I dominated the English, and I’m gonna dominate the Spanish.”

When it comes to public favor among the rap fanbase, 6ix9ine and Gunna are not the highest-ranking names you’d think of. Still, with a lot of anticipation around the latter’s upcoming album, past single, and overall loyalty from his fanbase, it’s not surprising to see the former be the one to give him flowers and not the other way around. Moreover, as two figures associated as “snitches” within the game, any connection between the two is bound to cause fans to bring that link up. That’s exactly what’s happening right now as a clip of the rainbow-haired MC rapping along to the College Park rapper’s Drip Season 3 cut, “No Joke.”

“Gunna ft. 6ix9ine – snitch or drown,” one fan joked in the comments section of DJ Akademiks’ coverage of the clip. Another wrote, “They should drop an Album 
‘The Rats.’” Still, the comments also showed that there’s plenty of support for the YSL artist’s music, despite his connection to that group falling under scrutiny. “Drip season 3 was amazing he can snitch one more time honestly,” a fan expressed on Instagram.

Can you believe it, Boosie Badazz has praise for a “rat.” Speaking on Tekashi 6ix9ine’s gym attack, Boosie feels the world needs more people like his attackers but got some kudos for how 6ix9ine took the beating.

“I like how 6ix9ine took it, bro,” Boosie said. “I ain’t lying. I like how he manned it out.”

But before you think he got true support for 6ix9ine, he doubled back to his true stance. “You know, there’s got to be some kind of consequence.”

Previously, Boosie celebrated the assault with “Snitches Get Stitches” and offered to start a GoFundMe for the man beating 6ix9ine, citing him as a “real one.”

In recent months, Boosie has been vocal against informants, known as rats or snitches in Hip-Hop, which included blasting T.I. and Gunna.

6ix9ine’s attorney, Lance Lazzaro, confirmed the attack, stating the rapper was attacked inside a sauna at an LA Fitness when several men began the assault. 6ix9ine attempted to fight off the men but was outnumbered as he was beaten until he bled.

6ix9ine was transferred to a hospital by ambulance after the gym employees heard the sauna fight and called police and EMS.

6ix9ine’s team now plans to speak with federal authorities in an effort to get the protection he needs. 6ix9ine did not have security at the time of the jumping.

In a video, 6ix9ine is seen being jumped by several men who state they don’t accept rats in their city. Another man filming claims to be a fan as Tekashi attempts to flee. The rapper was visibly shaken by the event as he tried to get away. Video from the incident can be seen below.

The rapper continues to align himself against 6ix9ine, but surprisingly, he has some positive words for the controversial rapper. Boosie has expressed his willingness to donate money to GoFundMe campaigns that were set up to help cover the legal expenses of the individuals who attacked 6ix9ine. It is worth noting that the rapper frequently refers to 6ix9ine as a “rat” and has been critical of him in the past. During an interview with DJ Vlad released on June 2, DJ Vlad informed Boosie about the existence of crowdfunding pages for the attackers, suggesting that he could contribute to them. To everyone’s surprise, Boosie responded with affirmation, stating, “I will, I will.” When pressed further, he elaborated on his perspective.

In the incident that occurred in March, 6ix9ine was assaulted by a group of men inside a sauna at an LA Fitness in South Florida. The rapper attempted to fight back but was outnumbered and suffered severe beatings before managing to escape. He did not have any security with him at the time. The attack was captured in a video that circulated on Instagram, showing 6ix9ine on the floor, protecting his head, while two men continuously kicked and punched him. Unfortunately, 6ix9ine’s offer to fight Lil Durk probably didn’t help the situation much. In fact, some were already trolling the rapper about his sexuality for his comments on the situation. It all started when Durk offered 6ix9ine $50 million to settle their beef in the ring. “I don’t want you hurt or dead you a kid from the burbs I got 50 million my own money without help to fight you on tv in dubi, we can double the money 3 rounds,” Lil Durk wrote in a DM to the Brooklyn rapper. However, 6ix9ine wasn’t having any of it. He said that Durk was only asking him to do it because he had an album to promote.

“It’s so funny because I know you on album press run,” 6ix9ine said in response. “U need anything to promote this album since nba young boy not biting the bait. But I wanna fight you for now money pussy. For Free. Come to Miami let’s get a hotel room and just throw down 1 on 1.” Lil Durk, of course, declined the offer.
