In case you’ve forgotten, or haven’t seen any of Chelsea Handler’s stand-up routines, Handler and 50 Cent dated briefly about a decade ago. She’s alluded to this relationship in her routines, her books, and in various interviews over the years, and has nothing but love for the “In Da Club” rapper. But still, their longstanding friendship isn’t going to keep her from getting her jokes off.
In a recent stand-up routine, Handler performed a bit about anal sex. During the bit, she noted that while the idea of anal sex might be daunting, it gets easier when you have a partner of the ideal — um — size.
“It’s a big pill to swallow in the beginning, but when you warm up to the idea, and you pick the right candidate, right?” Handler said of anal sex. “Small or medium, you know, you’re not going to, like, do that with 50 Cent.”
50 caught wind of the bit and shared a clip of it to his personal Instagram.
“Yo she is so crazy [laughing emojis],” said 50 in the post’s caption. He continued, calling Handler “hand[s] down the funniest.”
Meanwhile, 50 is currently gearing up for his Final Lap Tour, which will see him commemorating the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Get Rich Or Die Trying. The tour will kick off in July in Salt Lake City, Utah.
There is a timeline where 50 Cent didn’t become the rapper that we know today. Days before the release of Power of the Dollar, 50 Cent was shot multiple times. The culprit was never named but was described as a “low-level drug dealer”. However, 50 Cent pulled through and would go on to release Get Rich Or Die Trying in 2003.
One of 50’s closest friends is rapper and fellow G-Unit member, Tony Yayo. Furthermore, given the severity of 50’s injuries, you would expect Tony Yayo to visit him in the hospital. However, in a recent interview, Yayo explained why he didn’t visit his close friend in the hospital.
50 Wanted to Protect Tony Yayo
Speaking on Hotboxin’ with Mike Tyson, the podcast hosted by the former champion boxer, Yayo went into detail about the shooting and the aftermath. “They was like, ‘You next, Yayo, they gon’ kill you!’” he recalled after 50 got shot. “And 50’s still shot up. I’m like, ‘Damn, I’mma die? N-ggas gonna kill me out here!’ I gotta move safe, right?”Yayo continued. “But 50 was always a thinker, right? Because when he was in the hospital, he didn’t want me to see him shot the fuck up, all banged up, you know? But I’m like, ‘Yo, why you didn’t want me to see you?’ And the n-gga was like, ‘Because it will fuck with your mental. It would have made you scared seein’ me fucked up like that.’”
Other people have spoken about 50’s mentality, which explains his approach to Yayo. “When it comes to 50, there is something about him that’s different,” author Robert Greene said. “There is an energy and I think the energy is his realistic outlook. He’s not someone who wants to get high all the time and just live in this fantasy world and imagine having money. He’s extremely realistic when he looks at the world, and I think actually he got that from his mother, to be honest with you. His father was a drug dealer, a hustler, who was killed when he was I believe nine years old. She had that kind of hardcore mentality.”
With the wave of female rappers entering the game being the strongest it’s ever been, the newest leading lady out of New York has everyone asking, “Who is Scar Lip?” With hits like “New York” and her infamous “Glizzy Gobbler,” Scar Lip is making her presence heard with her aggressive delivery and sharp punchlines. Like other artists emerging from Hip Hops modern era, Scar Lip’s social media presence keeps her new fans close to her and gives insight into who she is. With plenty of competition in the form of fellow female artists on the scene, she is looking to stand out with an iron fist. Here is everything you need to know about New York’s own Scar Lip.
Childhood
Growing up in the Bronx, Sierra Lewis, also known as Scar Lip, didn’t have an easy upbringing. In fact, the traumatic events in the rapper’s childhood shaped who she is today. At 12, she lost her mother in a hit-and-run car accident. Her brother caused a traumatic injury as a child, resulting in a trademark scar on her lip. While living with her aunt, Scar Lip also faced alleged abuse from her uncle and aunt as well. Soon, Lewis moved into foster care after leaving the abusive household. This is where the rapper began writing poetry to cope with the events she had experienced. She details these experiences in her songs “Therapy,” “Foster Care,” and “Suicide Awareness.”
Famous Co-Signs
Since emerging on the scene, Scar Lip has received a lot of love from fellow rappers. The latest A-lister to give her praise to Scar Lip is fellow Bronx native Cardi B. When asked if she would consider being featured on the “This Is New York” remix, she enthusiastically replied, “I love that song! My fans keep asking for it.” Earlier this month, both artists attended the Met Gala celebrations. On Instagram, Cardi B reposted a pic of Scar Lip in her Met Gala ensemble with the caption, “I love her.” The new upcoming artist also went to Instagram, sharing her excitement at the moment with her fans.
“Cardi B just posted me,” Scar Lip said in a video. “She inspired me. She from The Bronx, bro. I’m from The Bronx. She showed us young girls we could make it, and we could be something, bro. I can’t f**king believe this sh*t. We did it.” In her post, she also got support from other figures as well. Tony Yayo, Wack 100, Lola Brooks, and Latto all joined in showing love in Scar Lip’s comment section. The 22-year-old has also received praise from the likes of Busta Rhymes and Jadakiss. Even NBA legend, Shaquille O’Neal, gave his stamp of approval. On Instagram, the basketball player told the rapper, “It’s time for you to take over New York.” Snoop Dogg gave his praises to the artist as well.
Influences
Being New York to the fullest, Scar Lip’s musical style is heavily influenced by legends who are also fellow residents. The rapper has also cited the late DMX as her main influence. Several others have made striking comparisons between the two artists. Scar Lip says well-known other New York artists, including Onyx also influence her. Among fans, she is also often compared to Brooklyn rapper Casanova.
Social Media
Scar Lips’ loyal fan base was built from her social media presence, like many other modern-day stars. Her TikTok account, named Broken Child Productions, holds over 24.1 million likes with 1.9 million followers. This also solidifies the rapper’s star power on the platform. On her accounts, fans get a closer look into her life and a behind-the-scenes look into her budding career. Scar Lip tells her fans about her life before fame, bringing her loyal fan base closer to the artist. Besides her buzzing Tik Tok account, Scar Lip’s Instagram account also does heavy numbers. Her Instagram page has over 290k followers.
What’s Next For Scar Lip?
Scar Lip’s emotion and raw delivery have allowed her to make her mark on the Rap scene, garnering much love from fans. Her aggressiveness on the mic also gives a gritty, ’90s era feel that rap fans have been craving. With plenty of co-signs that could lead to legendary collaborations, the artist is already respected by huge names in the genre.
“This is New York” is in the Top 150 songs on YouTube Music in New York City and has over 893k views. Her early star power continues to grow with every appearance, showing she’s here to stay. With a big future ahead of her, and her single being possibly the new anthem for New York rap, Scar Lip has taken hold of the Hip Hop scene and has no intention of letting it go!

Timbaland’s life has had two life-changing near-misses. At fifteen, he was shot and left with partial paralysis for nine months. Five years later, he narrowly escaped death again when his car skidded off an icy road, killing his passenger but leaving him unscathed.
The shooting also prompted a remarkable transformation. Timbaland learned to DJ with just one hand, yet the car crash had a more pronounced and enduring effect. The immediate aftermath brought nightmares, uncontrollable sobbing, and a sense of guilt. To this day, Tim avoids driving, humbly recognizing that he shouldn’t even be here.
6. Lil Wayne
A 12-year-old Dwayne Carter attempted to take his own life. Lil Wayne has detailed this incident at length, revealing that he tried to shoot himself. Police Officer Robert Hoobler saved his life en route to the hospital. Years later, while dining out, someone tapped him on the shoulder – it was Lil Wayne. The artist expressed his gratitude, noting that Officer Hoobler had saved his life and then generously covered the officer’s bill.
5. The Game
At No. 5 of the rappers that almost died is the Game. Jayceon Taylor’s life was forever changed after a fateful shooting incident at his Compton apartment. After getting hit by five bullets, he slipped into a three-day coma and emerged with a newfound purpose – to conquer the hip-hop world. Drawing inspiration from notable rap innovators such as N.W.A., Notorious B.I.G., and Nas, Game devoted himself to mastering the craft. He achieved unprecedented success with his debut album, The Documentary, which hit No. 1 in 2004. His brush with death apparently catalyzed an unquenchable ambition that continues to drive him today.
50 Cent survived getting shot nine times while sitting in a car outside his grandmother’s home in Queens. Despite being dropped by Columbia Records while he recuperated in the hospital, he released the mixtape Guess Who’s Back. Subsequently, he became an unprecedented force in the rap game. He was eventually signed to Shady / Aftermath, with the song “Many Men” from his major-label debut referencing the shooting incident. Rumors circulated that he had ordered revenge against his shooter only weeks later.
3. Post Malone
The public was incredulous in the wake of Post Malone’s string of harrowing encounters within a three-week period. From tire blowouts on a private jet to a car crash and the thwarted burglary at his home, the rapper appeared to live under an unfortunate cloud of misfortune. Jocular speculation spread like wildfire that he had somehow managed to fall under a curse, though, in reality, it seemed his brush with danger stemmed from nothing more than sheer bad luck and a bold decision to tinker with a particularly malevolent spirit-housed object while intoxicated.
Zak Bagans, star of Ghost Adventures, visited the Haunted Museum with Post Malone in tow. Seemingly unaware of the supernatural risks, Malone recklessly opened a Dybbuk Box – a concealment vessel that traditionally houses a powerful ‘Dybbuk’ entity from Jewish folklore. Unsurprisingly, the incident culminated in a frenzied outburst from the singer once he became aware of the sacredness of the cursed item.
2. Kanye West
He is Kanye West, a groundbreaking artist of the 21st century who has set records with his prodigious output. He is widely acclaimed, earning 21 Grammy awards and gracing the cover of Time Magazine’s list of Most Influential People. On October 23, 2002, tragedy befell the budding star while working at a California studio, producing music alongside Beanie Sigel, Peedi Crakk, and The Black Eyed Peas. On his way home from the session, an unfortunate car crash ensued when Kanye dozed off. The impact inflicted irreversible damage. Miraculously surviving his near-death experience, Kanye found himself with a metal plate in his chin where it met with a fractured jaw.
Though many would have taken time to recover, Kanye channeled his experience into creativity. As a result, he entered the recording studio only two weeks after his hospitalization, evidencing his remarkable grit and determination. Subsequently, he birthed what would become his debut single, “Through The Wire.”
Rick Roos tops the list of rappers who almost died. In 2011 and 2018, Ross endured seizures that reportedly rendered him unresponsive and, in some cases, presumed dead. Upon reflection on those hospitalizations, the celebrated artist developed the idea for his memoir. Though speculation circulated that he had experienced a heart attack during one episode, he refutes this theory in his book. Instead, he attributed it to disregarding medical advice, taking copious amounts of alcohol, and abusing codeine.
50 Cent just admitted that his decision to hang upside down at last year’s Super Bowl was “a mistake”.
The rapper made a surprise appearance at the infamous Halftime Show, where he joined Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar and Mary J. Blige on stage for an epic performance.
The rapper surprised fans when he appeared performing ‘In Da Club’ while suspended upside down from the ceiling. 50 Cent’s performance caused social media a number of memes mocking his weight, with the performer himself sharing his favourites. Many on social media made references to the rapper’s weight, which he then referenced in a winking tweet, in which he shared a link to buy the tank top he wore on stage. After the tweet went viral, he screenshotted their article and wrote: “I call this teasing me, They’re just teasing me because they know i can drop the weight. that’s why i laugh with them. Fat shaming only applies when your ashamed of your fat. LOL.”
The rapper has now said he wish he hadn’t hung upside down
He told USA Today: “I think that was a mistake for the Super Bowl. Everybody else walked in regular, the songs still went over and they got the trophy, too. They all won an Emmy. They got the same thing I got and I had to put myself upside down.” 50 Cent recently announced a 2023 UK, European and US tour to celebrate the 20th anniversary of his 2003 debut album, ‘Get Rich or Die Tryin’.
‘The Final Lap Tour’ with Busta Rhymes will start at the Maverik Center in Salt Lake City, Utah on July 21, touring throughout North America with stops in New York, Florida, Texas, Arizona, California and many more, before closing out at the Pine Knob Music Theatre in Detroit, Michigan on September 17.
Pras of The Fugees hip-hop group has taken legal action against 50 Cent, Kyrie Irving, and Rolling Stone for alleged defamation. The lawsuit stems from social media posts and a news article suggesting that Pras was an FBI informant. Pras’ lawyer claims these false statements have harmed his client’s reputation, leading to business losses and […]
Fugees founder Pras Michel has filed a lawsuit for defamation against 50 Cent, Kyrie Irving, and Rolling Stone magazine for calling him an FBI informant and a “rat,” according to Rolling Stone. After Rolling Stone reported on Pras’ unusual testimony during the money laundering case against him saying that he approached the FBI after meeting with a Chinese minister in 2017, rumors of Pras being an “informant” spread rapidly online. 50 Cent, who is often quick to react or joke around about hip-hop news stories on social media, called Pras “a rat” on Instagram, while Irving also shared a post calling Pras a “federal informant” on Twitter.
In a letter sent to the Rolling Stone offices Wednesday, May 10, Pras’ attorneys notified the potential defendants of their intention to take them to court. Jonathan Noah Schwartz wrote (again, according to Rolling Stone), “It is and was absolutely and demonstrably false for you to publish that Michel was a ‘government informant.’ Labeling a hip-hop artist such as Michel, the reputation of whom is dependent upon ‘street credibility’ and not being a ‘snitch,’ a ‘government informant’ most certainly tends to subject said hip-hop artist to hatred, distrust, ridicule, contempt and/or disgrace, along with injury in their trade or profession.”
Pras was convicted of money laundering, illegal lobbying, witness tampering, and campaign finance violations in the April trial, all charges stemming from his association with Malaysian money man Jho Low, who is himself wanted for allegedly embezzling billions from his home nation’s sovereign wealth fund.
