ASAP Rocky And J Cole Get In Their Bag On New Single “Ruby Rosary”

ASAP Rocky is in the zone right now. He may have delayed his upcoming album, Don’t Be Dumb, but the singles have been absolutely electric. “HIGHJACK” was a trippy anthem aided by an even better video. “Tailor Swif” was a banger that had been teased months earlier. Rocky keeps his winning streak alive with “Ruby Rosary.” He links up with J Cole and The Alchemist, two artists who rarely miss, and delivered an absolutely hypnotic single. It manages to sound in line with what came before, while at the same time carving out a distinct lane within the Don’t Be Dumb tracklist.

Let’s talk production first. The Alchemist is one of the most consistently dazzling producers in hip hop. He knows how to mold his signature sound to whomever he’s working with, and he nails the off-kilter, spooky ASAP vibe. ASAP Rocky gets more melodic with his flow than he did on previous singles, and it results in a fascinating groove. J Cole reminds us that when he’s on, he’s one of the best feature artists in the game. He makes a meal out of this beat. His rhyme scheme is do dense yet catchy that it sounds borderline stream of consciousness. ASAP Rocky and Cole haven’t been on a song together since the “TKO” remix in 2013. It should go without saying, but “Ruby Rosary” absolutely wipes the floor with its dated, JT predecessor.

Let us know what you think of this brand-new track, in the comments section down below. Additionally, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news and updates from around the music world. We will continue to keep you informed on all of your favorite artists and their upcoming projects.

Quavo And Offset Squash Their Beef Following Rich Homie Quan’s Death

Things have been contentious between the living members of Migos. Quavo and Offset had a falling out before the death of third member Takeoff, and their relationship has not improved since. There has been the occasional birthday post, but by and large, the two men do not speak. It appears as though the death of Rich Homie Quan has changed that. The rapper passed at age 34 on September 5, rocking the music world to its core. Quavo posted a tribute to Quan, but more importantly, he took steps to repair things with his brother.

Quavo took to his Instagram Stories to deliver the good news. He posted the Quavo and Takeoff song “Nothing Changed” on his Story, along with the text: “Good convo with my bro.” He even tagged Offset, making it clear that the two men were on the same page. The comment section was flooded with happy fans. Some lamented that it took the passing of a close friend to bring Quavo and Offset together. “They should have did this before Rich Homie died,” one user wrote. Most of the commenters were happy that steps were being taken at all. “Good,” another user wrote. “We need y’all. We done already lost too much of our childhood.”

Quavo Confirmed He Had A Good Convo With Offset

Quavo and Offset have talked about each other in interviews. There’s generally a sense of frustration underpinning their answers, though. Offset made it clear that he didn’t care about fan speculation during his appearance on Million Dollaz Worth of Game. “I don’t feel like I owe it to people to show how much me and bro love each other,” the rapper stated. “We went through something. We don’t have to show you n**gas smiles and faces, so stop doing that.”

Quavo has also taken digs at the rocky public relationship between Offset and Cardi B. He took to Twitter in December to make it clear that he wasn’t condoning the airing out of personal information that Offset was participating in. “Nephew ain’t with the soap opera,” Quavo tweeted. “Long live rocket. Pray for y’all though.” The tension seemed to dissipate slightly in April, when Offset wished Quavo a happy birthday on Instagram. “Happy gday my brother @quavohuncho love you 4L,” he wrote. It’s unclear how much Rich Homie Quan’s death sped up the process, but it looks like the Migos rappers are finally ready to bury the hatchet.

Playboi Carti Pays Tribute To Rich Homie Quan During Award Acceptance Speech

September 5 proved to be a sad day in music. Rich Homie Quan died at age 34. There are countless album releases and events going on, but rappers everywhere are feeling the loss. Nowhere was this more evident than the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players Awards. Playboi Carti won his first ever award at the event. The rapper had already paid tribute to Quan earlier in the day, but he took the time to give a shoutout to Quan before he exited the stage.

It’s bizarre to think about Playboi Carti having never won an award. Yet, those were the circumstances in which the elusive rapper came to the stage. He thanked his mother, he thanked God, and he thanked the Billboard organization for giving him the award. Carti took a beat before continuing his speech, looked at the award in his hand, and shifted directions. “RIP Rich Homie Quan,” he told the crowd. He proceeded to shout out Quan’s crew, which drew cheers of support from those in the audience.

Playboi Carti Paid Tribute To Quan Multiple Times

Playboi Carti previously posted music video footage of Quan on his Instagram Story. The two men never collaborated on a song together, but Carti has made it clear that he respected Quan as a musical talent. This is not the first time that Playboi Carti has talked about a fallen rapper in public. He paid tribute to the late, great Fredo Santana during a concert in 2022. “I miss Fredo like a motherfucker,” he told the crowd before wiping tears from his face.

Playboi Carti also got emotional talking about Juice WRLD. “That sh*t blew my mind bro,” he explained. “He was really a GOAT.” Carti’s voice cracked in the middle of the interview, and he reflected on the fact that he didn’t spend as much time with Juice as he intended. “Even if we wasn’t seen together like that,” he noted. “We was close.” Carti also noted that he regularly talks about the rappers who pass with peers like Lil Uzi Vert. He’s seen a lot, and sadly Rich Homie Quan is the latest to join the tragic list.

Central Cee And Raye Bid Adieu To Tough Times In Their Celebratory ‘Moi’ Video

UK drill phenom Central Cee has had a stellar 2024 so far, building on his breakout last year with strong singles like “I Will” and the Lil Baby-featuring “Band4Band,” a buzzy rumored relationship with “Did It First” collaborator Ice Spice (since debunked), and prime placement on Asake’s Lungu Boy.

Today, he returned with “Moi,” a celebratory new single that compares his past tribulations to his current success. Soul chanteuse Raye joins him on the song’s intro, singing in French over a moody 2-step riddim before the song kicks over into full drill mode, although it stays upbeat and airy, as opposed to the usual heavy bass and dubstep wubs that usually define the genre. Cench reminisces on his sketchy past with tongue-in-cheek liknes like, “I used to sleep on a cheap sofa
‘019 we was kitchen whippin’ / If they had TikTok them times and a man asked me what I do for a livin’ / Then I would’ve started fibbin’.”

However, since then, he’s kept it real, saying, “Broke, I was sharin’ my bredrin’s clothes / Then I got rich and I kept them close / Talk about real, gotta mention moi.”

It remains to be seen whether “Moi” will appear on a new full-length project from the Shepherd’s Bush prodigy, but a new album would certainly be appreciated.

Watch the video for “Moi” above.

Lil Kim Recalls Her Friendship With Rich Homie Quan In Touching Tribute

Rich Homie Quan had lots of friends in the music industry. The rapper was well-liked, and had iconic collaborations with the likes of Migos and Young Thug. One friendship that was less known, however, was between Quan and Lil Kim. The two never officially collaborated on a song, and the only time they were onstage together there was controversy. Despite this, Quan and Lil Kim had a bond that stretched multiple years. The latter was devastated by Rich Homie Quan’s passing, and decided to open up about their friendship on Instagram.

Lil Kim posted a series of photos and videos the evening of September 5. The photos included her and Quan at a party together, and drinking champagne together in the back of a limo. There was also footage of the aforementioned live performance they did in 2016. Lil Kim’s caption was supremely heartfelt, and let fans in on how much Quan’s death has affected her. “This is the part of life that I’ll never get used to,” she wrote. “I’m so heartbroken. No one ever understood the dope ass friendship u and I had.”

Lil Kim And Rich Homie Quan Performed Together In 2016

Lil Kim then praised Rich Homie Quan for always being supportive and available to hang out. “U always pulled up for me no matter what,” the rapper noted. “I’ve learned in life love those who love you. Rest in Heaven my angel @richhomiequan.” The friendship between the two artists dates back to the 2016 BET Awards. Lil Kim invited Quan onstage to perform the Junior M.A.F.I.A. classic “Get Money.” Quan took on Biggie’s verse, and proceeded to flub the lyrics. He rapped “play Nintendo with Cease at Alamo” instead of the original: “play Nintendo with Cease and Nino.”

Rich Homie Quan felt bad about the flub, but Lil Kim encouraged him to recover and keep performing. Quan proceeded to issue an apology after the ceremony. “I will forever be sorry,” he wrote. “I hope you can accept my apology. To Lil Kim, Thank you for the opportunity.” Despite the unfortunate flub, Lil Kim and Rich Homie Quan connected on a deep level. It’s clear from her Instagram tribute that Kim chooses to celebrate the good times they had instead.

Nicki Minaj Thanks Sabrina Carpenter For Beating Travis Scott With Stunning Bouquet

Recently, Sabrina Carpenter narrowly defeated Travis Scott in an intense first-week sales battle. Her sixth studio album Short n’ Sweet outsold his Days Before Rodeo re-release by a mere 1,000 units, leaving his fans outraged. Some of them even speculated that Billboard was behind the “robbery” in some way, though of course, this is unconfirmed.

Carpenter and Scott’s race to top the Billboard 200 chart mimics one fans saw all the way back in 2018. At the time, however, he was competing with Nicki Minaj. Ultimately, Astroworld beat her album Queen, which she promptly went off about on Queen Radio. She slammed Scott for using bundles to boost his sales, arguing that she deserved to be No. 1. “What we’re not gonna do is have that Auto-Tune man selling f*cking sweaters,” she explained at the time. “Telling you he sold half a million albums, because he f*cking didn’t.”

Sabrina Carpenter Thanks Nicki Minaj For Thoughtful Gift

This time around, Nicki made it clear who she was backing in this race. For obvious reasons, it was the “Espresso” singer. Carpenter even took to Twitter/X to show love to Nicki and her Barbz, writing, “This is for Nicki.” The rapper returned the favor, hopping on Instagram Live to urge her fans to support Carpenter’s new album. “Shout out Sabrina Carpenter, shout out all the Sabrina Carpenter fans,” she said.

It appears as though Nicki’s support has extended beyond the initial race, however. Earlier today, Carpenter hopped on her Instagram Story to flaunt a white bouquet sent to her by Nicki herself. “I adore u + the barbz :’) this is so thoughtful!!!! and these are so beautiful,” she captioned the photo. What do you think of Nicki Minaj sending Sabrina Carpenter flowers after her album Short n’ Sweet topped Travis Scott’s Days Before Rodeo? Do you see a collab in their future? Westside Gunn Confirms New Album “Still Praying” Is On The Way

Westside Gunn had a huge 2023. The rapper dropped And Then You Pray for Me, his most high profile album to date. He also kept the hardcore fans fed with Hall & Nash 2. He’s had a relatively quiet 2024, in comparison to his Griselda brothers (Benny the Butcher can’t stop dropping music). That said, Westside Gunn is back. The Buffalo rapper has confirmed that his new album Still Praying is in the works, and it will be out sooner than later.

Westside Gunn made the announcement via Instagram on September 4. “Still Praying coming soon,” he wrote in the caption. He tagged Griselda, and then proceeded to build up hype even further by dubbing the new album a “f*ckin art piece.” The rapper failed to provide a release date or tracklist, but he did give fans a look at the cover art. Still Praying continues Westside Gunn’s run of stellar album covers by giving fans a photo of the late wrestler Sidney “Sid Vicious” Eudy.

Westside Gunn Channels WWE On The Album Cover

Westside Gunn is one of the biggest wrestling fans in hip hop, so the shoutout makes sense. He rapped a song at AEW Dynamite in 2022, and provided the walkout song for wrestler Daniel Garcia. “It’s been time for him to get a little shine,” Garcia told Pitchfork. “So I’m glad we were able to put that shine on him and give him that moment.” Westside Gunn has also made numerous wrestling references in his music. In a 2023 interview with Billboard, the rapper cited Scott Hall as his all time favorite wrestler. “I respect all the old fly sh*t,” he asserted. “That n**ga was the illest. That don’t take from the other n**ga with the chains and the toothpick…. It’s like me in real life.”

Westside Gunn may be known for his tireless work ethic, but the rapper did admit that he wants to take more time crafting albums. Less output, even more quality. “Back in the day, it was the flood sh*t,” he told Billboard. “Now you only hear me when I do an album or a feature. It’s like you really only hear me when I do an album now.” It’s not like the quality of Westside’s albums were suffering to begin with, so we can’t wait to hear what Still Praying sounds like. Whenever it drops.

Boosie Badazz Calls For Snipers In Schools After Georgia School Shooting

Reportedly, a 14-year-old shooter entered the school Wednesday morning with a rifle, killing two teachers and two students. The shooting has left many devastated and outraged, including Boosie Badazz.
