Tyrese Believes Snoop Dogg Is A More Famous Rapper Than Jay-Z

Tyrese was the latest guest on Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, and we’re sure that it will make for another explosive episode. In fact, the former even proclaimed that it will make about as much of a splash as the Katt Williams interview did, which is certainly a tall order. However, one thing that might be more controversial and debatable than this assessment relates to one of their many discussions. At one point during their conversation, the duo landed on the topic of Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z, and decided to debate which of the two hip-hop superstars is more of a globally famous celebrity.

“Who’s a bigger rapper globally? Most famous of the two. Jay-Z or Snoop Dogg?” Tyrese asked. “If Jay-Z and Snoop Dogg were in a mall in Moscow, who would shut the mall down? [Snoop Dogg is the] biggest f***ing superstar in the world. That’s my big homie. Long Beach, West Coast, I wish a motherf***er would.” We know that Snoop and the actor/singer are very good friends, with both of them supporting each other through some tough personal hardships over recent months.

As for Snoop Dogg and Jay-Z, they don’t cross over often, but they do share a lot of common collaborators, institutions, and goals. For example, they will both appear in Pharrell’s upcoming LEGO film alongside other MCs like Kendrick Lamar, playing fictionalized mini-figure versions of themselves. Elsewhere, they don’t have much of a collaborative history or strong links, but they definitely respect each other to the highest degree as rap legends. After all, they are arguably the two biggest faces of the genre and represent it – for better or worse – at the highest mainstream commercial levels.

Meanwhile, Snoop Dogg had previously joked about not being invited to Jay-Z’s Roc Nation brunch, so maybe that informs a bit of this “Who’s more famous?” discussion. “They know when I walk in, my outfit is going to turn everything out. So they like, ‘Keep that n***a away,’” he said during a podcast interview. Jokes aside, we wonder if we will see these two hip-hop icons link up in some way in the near future, or if their paths will focus more on their individual exploits.

Baby Keem Trolls Kendrick Lamar With Hilarious Viral Meme Referencing Drake Beef

Kendrick Lamar is many things: a great rapper, a family man, an entrepreneur, and a bonafide anime villain that probably strokes his cat’s fur as his plan for world domination goes perfectly according to plan. This last interpretation is what many fans realized during his historic battle with Drake, and even his cousin Baby Keem agrees. Moreover, the pgLang affiliate retweeted a very popular Twitter meme about K.Dot: “Kendrick the type of n***a to disappear after the bus passes.” It’s funny to think about Kendrick witnessing all the memes around his Drizzy beef, but it’s even funnier to imagine Keem’s online trolling and participation.

Furthermore, this is the first “interaction” concerning Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar that we’ve publicly witnessed since… their joint Vegas performance that went down this February, maybe? Still, that doesn’t mean that the Melodic Blue creative’s name didn’t pop up during the great rap war of 2024. For example, a Kendrick reference track for Keem’s “BULLIES” resurfaced during this period, sparking more debate around ghostwriters and protégés that Drake fans were already engaging in extensively at the time.

What’s more is that both Baby Keem and Kendrick Lamar have big plans for the future… Or at least, that’s what most of us fans want to believe. First up is the former, who’s been teasing his follow-up to his 2021 LP for a while now. It seems like we’re closer than ever to its release, but without any official teases, singles, announcements, or promotions yet, it’s hard to tell exactly when or how it will manifest. Still, The Melodic Blue was so good that it earned a significant benefit of the doubt on our behalf, albeit one whose expiration date is dangerously close. I mean, it’s been three years… Will we have to get to five before we start rioting?

As for Kendrick Lamar, he supposedly has something big planned after his Drake beef, but that’s just hearsay from his camp. He’s literally done nothing more than just drop his OVO disses, announce his Juneteenth concert, and release the “Not Like Us” music video. As such, Baby Keem is probably right in assuming that the Compton lyricist would embody that one Spider-Man 3 meme to a tee. Let’s just hope that he also has that ability in the inverse, and that he will pop out again in the near future.

Travis Scott Achieves Remarkable Milestone With “ASTROWORLD” Amid Impressive Run Of Feats

Travis Scott can say that his 2018 album ASTROWORLD was just the second to do this. According to an Instagram repost from RapTV, every song from La Flame’s third studio LP is now officially platinum by the RIAA. In an ironic twist, the only other artist to do this is Cardi B with her controversial debut, Invasion of Privacy. Not to rag on Travis Scott fans, but it just seems that he can never be first when it comes to awards and accomplishments. Cardi B’s album did this in a shorter window of just under four years. Travis has now done it in just over six.

Obviously, this is still such an amazing feat, which is actually one of many as of the last couple of weeks. Not too long ago, we have learned that the rerelease of DAYS BEFORE RODEO is looking at around 217,000 units in its first week with 190,000 of those being pure sales. It’s outpacing many new releases and could go number one the charts if he can beat out Sabrina Carpenter. Furthermore, Travis Scott was just celebrating another milestone for an older record of his, “goosebumps”.

The Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight cut featuring Kendrick Lamar just achieved diamond status, making it his second song to do so. There’s always been a constant debate amongst the hip-hop community, as well as Scott’s fan base as to what his best work is. More OG fans may say Rodeo, but with this otherworldly accomplishment, the campaign to push ASTROWORLD to the top of the heap may become fiercer than it already is. It certainly has his biggest songs on it and some of his most lush production to date, which is saying a lot. We are welcoming the debate, so let the war begin.

This week’s playlist comes from Brooklyn Cyclones’ on fire infielder Junior Tilien. This 21-year-old has been increasingly delivering for the Mets organization since being signed in 2021. Tilien played for the Florida Complex League when he was signed, but was quickly called up to St. Lucie the next year at 19 years old, putting up a .248 batting average 12 homers and a whopping 44 RBIs in just 84 games.

The Dominican Republic-born right hander struggled in his first year in Coney Island and was sent back to redeem himself before he returned back to Brooklyn in 2024. After leading off the line up for the first half of the season, Tilien’s consistency at the plate got him shifted to the clean up position for a good part of the summer, even with him in the batter’s box as the DH when he wasn’t on the field. In 103 games with the Cyclones this year, Tilien BA is a modest .228, with 84 hits, including six HRs, 40 RBIs and slashing .304/.329/.632.

Now, Tilien’s musical taste is definitely culturally centered for the young man from San Pedro de Macoris, the city known among Latin baseball aficionados as the “Cradle of Shortstops”, with his selection being heavy with classic reggaeton, dembow and even salsa cuts. Megan Thee Stallion And BTS Are Set To Reunite On A New Collaboration, But It’s Not Clear Exactly Who’s Involved

Megan Thee Stallion and BTS linked up back in 2021 on a remix of BTS’ massive hit “Butter.” Now, Megan and the group (or at least some of the group) are getting ready to reunite, although there’s currently some mystery involved.

Yesterday (August 29), Megan tweeted, “[horse emoji]X[purple heart emoji] [eyes emoji].” Today, the official BTS account quote-tweeted Meg’s post and added, “[horse emoji]X[porcupine emoji]([koala emoji]) Coming Soon! [purple heart emoji][eyes emoji].”

The horse is of course a stand-in for Megan, and according to BTS fans, the panda represents RM. Furthermore, Megan just added RM’s song “Lost!” to her Instagram profile. But, there appears to be uncertainty about the meaning of the hedgehog. Given the formatting of BTS’s tweet, the song may be a collaboration between Megan and another performer, with RM as a featured artist.

Megan, meanwhile, has kept busy lately. She released her video for “Mamushi” earlier this month, she was named the host of the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards, and it looks like she’s now in a relationship with NBA veteran Torrey Craig. As for BTS, they’ve been on a hiatus for the past couple years, but it hasn’t been much of a break, as the group’s members have remained industrious.

Crip Mac Gives Fans An Update On His Life Via Prison Call With N3on

Crip Mac will serve a 33-month prison sentence for the foreseeable future, but that doesn’t mean he can’t still keep his head up. Moreover, he recently called fellow social media personality N3on from behind bars to give fans a bit of an update on his life. “Just remember, everything is going to be all right,” the California YouTuber relayed to his fanbase via the streamer, admittedly after confessing that he doesn’t “run the jail” as N3on suggested. Elsewhere, Mac spoke on working out a lot while incarcerated and on how he’s made a couple of friends inside the facility, as well.

Overall, it seems like he’s having a pretty good time all things considered, as he still came off as jovial and vivid during the N3on phone call. Crip Mac will be just fine, hopefully, even as folks outside of his situation debate whether he will lose his fame. For example, Adam22 and Wack 100 recently debated whether or not he’s more famous than Blueface right now, with Wack siding with the latter. Either way you fall on that debate, it’s clear that their antics and viral online behavior is what drove both of them to social media stardom.

Beyond Crip Mac, though, N3on also ran into his fair share of issues this year, such as an arrest in Dubai. However, by April of this year, he was already back on his streaming grind, and it doesn’t seem like that provoked him to change his approach at all. We can only guess as to what wild moments and headlines we will see throughout the rest of the year about both of these media personalities. Hopefully they stay out of trouble, as we all know that these scandals can turn ugly.

Meanwhile, this isn’t the first time that Crip Mac spoke out from behind bars. He also gave Adam22 a prison call back in December of last year. Much like in this instance, Mac also primarily had a motivational message for his fanbase tuning in, something that he hopefully continues to promote. We’ll see whether or not he and N3on link up again or if their next antics will be mutually exclusive.
