Kanye West Co-Signs JPEGMAFIA’s Praise Amid “Vultures” Collab Rumors

It’s no secret that Kanye West is a pretty controversial character these days, but that hasn’t stopped him from being JPEGMAFIA’s favorite artist. In recent days, JPEG has been praising Ye on social media, and clapping back at critics who think the Chicago MC’s antics are simply too much to stomach. Luckily for him, Ye appears to appreciate the compliments and agree with his points. Recently, he even reposted one of his lengthy messages on his own Instagram Story.

“When i said i love an artist there’s nothing political about it,” the message begins. “Ye is my favorite artist of all time. I’ve been saying it for years. If it wasn’t for him I wouldn’t be here period. And I love him period. It’s offensive to me that some people on here took a moment i had been waiting on my whole life and twisted into some weird a** oppression olympics.”

Kanye West Reposts JPEGMafia’s Message

His post continues, “You can’t play oppression olympics with a grown black man whose dealt with racism in real time. So please shut the actual f*ck up and keep bumping the artist yall like that beat b*tches up and rape girls in real life. Because that’s your reality not mine. don’t round me up to be a nazi because your sheltered and st*pid and have no respect or context [for] anything black or for my experiences as [a] black man in this country.” JPEG went on, insisting that he’ll never have anything in common with critics, as he makes “goals” while they make “mean Reddit threads.”

Ye’s repost comes after he linked up with JPEGMAFIA this month following his viral Twitter rant. In the rant, JPEG admitted to “[feeling] a way” about Ye acknowledging other artists who have “less to offer” than him. Drake Proclaims He’s “Not Human,” Reposts Viral Concert Clip To Prove It

Drake has wild reflexes (well, sometimes…) that have him feeling “not human” as of late. Moreover, he recently reposted an old viral clip from his It’s All A Blur tour with 21 S*vage in which he quickly catches a book that a fan threw at him. In fact, it was one of the 6ix God’s own books, Titles Ruin Everything, which was his poetry collection that kicked off the rollout for For All The Dogs. “Never forget I’m not human,” he wrote as the video’s caption on his recent Instagram Story post. Given that Drizzy was also catching bras, posters, and so much more onstage, we’re sure that he had plenty of opportunities to hone his quick reaction times.

Furthermore, a lot of folks are excited to see him continue this run with another special guest to energize the trek. For those unaware, Drake and J. Cole are embarking on an “expansion” of the previous concert series: the Big As The What? tour. Not only that, but following increased fan demand and more visibility, the team added more dates on the journey for die-hards to cop tickets for. We’re sure that the Toronto star will want to display his inhumanness even more during these shows, and he’s going to have even steeper competition to live up to alongside the Dreamville MC.

Of course, most fans would rather he display his alien nature through the quality of his music rather than his athleticism. Fortunately for them, Drake did this quite a bit in 2023– and these example weren’t even all from his solo material. He had a couple of amazing features this year, all of which took on a pretty unique tone, voice, angle, and intent. As one of the most versatile artists working today, we’d expect nothing less from the 37-year-old.

Meanwhile, next year should be a very interesting one for him. Amid Aubrey’s claims that he’s taking a break from music, plus some speculation that he’s beefing with Metro Boomin, eve off-years seem like anticipated moments for him. Drake Reposts Shawn Cee Criticism Of “For All The Dogs”

For every time that Drake drops something new, there seems to be a polarizing conversation around its quality. Moreover, some fans have been complaining about his output for a couple of years now, whereas others still hold a lot of love for his recent releases. That’s especially the case for Drizzy’s For All The Dogs, which has arguably some of the highest and lowest points of his career, including the Scary Hours 3 expansion. However, he knows this very well, and even tends to join in those conversations either jokingly or stubbornly. The most recent instance of this is hard to put in either camp, though.

Furthermore, Drake reposted a clip of popular YouTuber and streamer Shawn Cee’s reaction to For All The Dogs. While it’s not as harsh as what, say, someone like Joe Budden fired off against him, it’s still quite the negative implication. Basically, Shawn remarked that very few of the Toronto superstar’s fans actually care about the vague people that he’s rapping about and complaining about. When it comes to content matter, he just doesn’t find him to be very interesting, and believes he’s too deep in his own mythologized legend status to acknowledge that what he raps about is irrelevant to most of his listeners.

Of course, it’s not like artists always have to cater to whatever the fans want to hear; it’s their expression, after all. But Shawn Cee’s comments are actually quite common among Drake discourse, and this can’t be the first time that the 37-year-old has faced these critiques head-on. Still, it’s unclear whether he’s just laughing at Shawn’s assessment and commentary, or being a little butt-hurt about it. Neither would be too surprising, as the OVO mogul is known to have a bone to pick with people criticizing his music.

Meanwhile, it’s quite amusing to see artists interact with listeners in this way, whether it’s with positive or negative connotations. In fact, by dropping the instrumentals for Scary Hours 3, it seems like Drake wants us to engage even more with the music at hand and rap over it ourselves. It’s a nice challenge, but if he has anything bad to say about any rendition of it, then he’d better be ready for some return fire. Queen Latifah Shades DJ Akademiks Amid Saucy Santana Beef

DJ Akademiks and Saucy Santana are currently wrapped up in some pretty messy beef. Many fans and peers have shared their thoughts on it, and now Queen Latifah has weighed in on social media. Their feud first started when DJ Akademiks dissed City Girls’ Yung Miami, accusing her of perpetuating homophobia. According to him, her response to his claim that her only talent is “pimping men” only worked to reinforce negative stereotypes. He claimed that if she truly respected her gay friends like Saucy Santana, she wouldn’t have used a gay slur.

Saucy Santana then responded, siding with Yung Miami. “Me being her best friend, it don’t have nothing to f*cking do with me. In the hood, and in a lot of urban cultures, when you see boys that are acting feminine, that are being messy, that are being extra and doing f*g sh*t, that’s what you address them as,” he said. Things only escalated from there, after Saucy Santana threatened to “beat” and sexually assault DJ Akademiks.

Most recently, DJ Akademiks got emotional during a live stream. He revealed that he felt like he couldn’t fire back at Saucy Santana without getting canceled. Yung Miami then responded, reminding him of the impact of his own comments. “I was in tears when he laughed and was trolling about my car getting shot up while was 6 months pregnant,” she wrote. Queen Latifah seems to have a similar take on the situation. She reposted one user’s message about the beef on her Instagram Story, calling him out for targeting Black women.

Moreover, the College Park rapper just reposted Young Thug’s mysterious countdown on Instagram, which was shared by fellow top industry MCs and producers. Whatever Thugger has cooking up or is making fans anticipate, it seems like his partner (or whatever you can call them, at this point) is here for it. Furthermore, this slightly changed perception of the Drip Season artist’s case online, bolstered by another big move.

a Gift & a Curse, Gunna’s latest album, got its fair share of acclaim, surprised reactions, and conversation upon release. In it, the 30-year-old basically shuts down everyone who wrote him off when they heard of his removal from the legal case. Many bars allude to misread situations, fake loyalty from others in the game, and a lot of personal reflection and reevaluation. For example, on “rodeo dr,” he raps, “I know some n***as locked up in the dungeon that say they feel me like fabric / I know you heard I been pullin’ up pressin’ these n***as who claimin’ I ratted.”

In addition, this is not the first time that either Young Thug and his protégé used social media as a potential means of public reconciliation.
