For those unaware, Takeoff is a former member of the Migos, one of the most influential and impactful Southern rap groups of all time, alongside his uncle Quavo and Offset. Tragically, he passed away in November of 2022 following a shootout which caught him in the crossfire. This tragedy, in addition to the Georgia native’s musical legacy, makes him a much-missed and much-beloved figure in the culture for generations to come. Through the clip’s narration, his wax figure’s creator spoke on what the process means to him.

“I haven’t posted in a while and here’s why,” they began their narration of the Takeoff video. “I’m grieving and I’m mourning and I didn’t even know it. God was using me in the life and legacy of the late rapper Takeoff to let me know that he has not forgotten about me. And what’s funny is this isn’t even my prayer. My prayer is not to have a new house or a new car or a new business. My prayer is for this to be your year of Takeoff. Your job will go to another level. Your marriage will go to another level. Even your finances and health will increase. I believe that this will be the year to Takeoff.”

Moreover, the Trinidadian MC recently took to social media to bask in her latest broken record. “Big Foot” officially claims the biggest Spotify debut for a solo song from a female rapper in 2024. “O….my… I’m really happy about breaking this record, you guys,” she captioned a new Instagram post celebrating the accolade. “This is SOOOOOOOOOOO unbelievable, yo. THANK YOU. LOVE YOU. #PinkFriday2 #BigFoot. Dear #BARBZ, you are loved & adored & appreciated & admired & absolutely amazing. I’m not even kidding I love you & thank you so much. If you only knew.”

However, in the comments section of this post, you will see a lot of people trashing Nicki Minaj’s “Big Foot,” as well as plenty of praise. Still, a lot of the most engaged-with comments are about how this song is disappointing or about how she’s crashing out. While we can’t make these judgements this early into the spat, it’s fair to say that these sides manifested well before either artist chose to attack on wax. Everybody in the rap world is talking about Megan Thee Stallion’s new song “HISS.” While she doesn’t name many names, the song still manages to settle seemingly dozens of scores with those who wronged her. The one that most people gravitated towards is Nicki Minaj. Nicki spat some lyrics on her new album Pink Friday 2 that many interpreted as a diss at Megan and now the “Savage” rapper has responded. Nicki’s answer to Megan’s new diss track has been the very definition of maximal.

Minaj has been tweeting nearly constantly throughout the entire weekend and into this week. Some of those tweets spanned hundreds of words but were occasionally completely incomprehensible. It all came to a head when she dropped “Big Foot” a response song that she teased all weekend. Unfortunately for Nicki, fans nearly universally rejected the track for seeming hastily assembled and lacking in any clever punchlines.
