Waka Flocka Flame Flattered By Latto Interpolating His Lyrics

Over the weekend, Latto released her new song “ISSA PARTY.” Unsurprisingly, the track is a party anthem that sees her teaming up with Georgia rapper BabyDrill. The song deploys a bit of interpolation, borrowing some lyrics and refrains from Waka Flocka Flame’s song “It’s A Party.” Some fans online immediately called her out, thinking that it went beyond just reference into straight-up stealing. “if i’m waka flocka my lawsuit was filed yesterday” one tweet responding to the original video read.

Flocka apparently caught the tweet and wanted to clear the air about his thoughts on the song. “flattery at this highest…. never understood why rob these youngsters for showing us respect plus Lotto from Clayton County.” he responded. His answer is pretty definitive, cosigning both Latto as an artist and the song itself. That’s no surprise given that the two have been spotted hanging out before. A source for the outlet says Ye “yelled and appeared out-of-sorts” while previewing the new music. It will mark his first album since Donda 2 as well as the first since making various antisemitic comments in 2022.

“At times, Ye seemed to have fun, but at other points he looked completely out-of-whack while playing it,” the outlet reported. Ty Dolla Sign, who appears to have a collaboration with West on the effort, was in attendance. Ye’s wife, Bianca Censori, on the other hand, was not. No further details on the project have been announced.

Speaking of legal matters, Blue was also in court today (October 2) in regard to his 2022 shooting incident at a Las Vegas strip club.

The incident took place last October. At the time, the “Thotiana” rapper was caught on camera shooting at his victim, Kentavious Taylor, in a vehicle. Blue’s consequences could’ve been severe, but the presiding judge was incredibly generous in giving him a 24-month suspended sentence. This essentially gives the California native a chance to prove himself while serving time on probation. Should he complete that period successfully, it’s likely the case will be dismissed without any hard time served.
