Louisiana’s Own Boosie Had Some Caitlin Clark Trash Talk After LSU Beat Iowa: ‘Larry Bird, Come Get Your Daughter’

The 2023 NCAA Women’s National Championship game went down yesterday (April 2), and despite Iowa’s Caitlin Clark delivering a series of star-making performances throughout the tournament, it was Angel Reese and LSU who came out ahead in the ultimate contest, winning 102 to 85.

Louisiana native Boosie Badazz was pretty excited about the whole thing, even coming through with some trash talk directed at Clark. In one clip he shared on social media, the rapper repeats, “Larry Bird, come get your daughter!” In another video, he calls LSU’s Jasmine Carson “LSU Ice Spice” due to her Ice Spice-like hair.

Elsewhere, Boosie, mirroring the tradition carried out by the championship-winning team, cut down the net on a hoop at his own house.

LSU previously showed love to Boosie by celebrating with his music in the locker room after clinching a spot in the championship game.

Meanwhile, Boosie recently spoke about Jay-Z’s relevance, saying, “When I go to these clubs in Atlanta — these 25-to-35 clubs — I’m not hearing Nas, I’m not hearing Jay-Z. Every club I go in, it’s not one or the other… Jay-Z is respected by these people for being the boss that he is. When Jay-Z flashes across that muthaf*cka, it’s somethin’ with a billion dollars; it’s somethin’ with 500 billion, 200 billion when them young n****s see him. It ain’t his songs flashing across no f*ckin’ social media; it’s his hustle. That n**** got hustle.”

Angel Reese Speaks After Win: 'It Was Bigger Than Me Tonight'

In the closing moments of the women’s NCAA championship game, Angel Reese trolled Caitlin Clark with John Cena’s “You Can’t See Me” gesture and pointing at her ring finger.

Segments of the Internet were not pleased by the trolling of the megastar, and Reese had a sharp response:

“All year, I was critiqued for who I was. I don’t fit the narrative. I don’t fit the box that y’all want me to be in. I’m too hood. I’m too ghetto. Y’all told me that all year. When other people do it, and y’all don’t say nothing.

So this is for the girls that look like me. For those that want to speak up for what they believe in. It’s unapologetically you. And that’s what I [did] before tonight. It was bigger than me tonight. And Twitter is going to go into a rage every time.”

She closed with, “I have all the screenshots of what everybody has said about me all season. What are you going to say now?”

They can’t say anything but call her a champion.

Endeavor has announced the acquisition of World Wrestling Entertainment, forming a new publicly listed company consisting of both WWE and the UFC brands. In ownership, Endeavor now has 51% controlling interest in the new company, with WWE shareholders maintaining 49%.

The deal creates a $21 billion live sports and entertainment conglomerate.

“Given the incredible work that Ari and Endeavor have done to grow the UFC brand – nearly doubling its revenue over the past seven years – and the immense success we’ve already had in partnering with their team on a number of ventures, I believe that this is without a doubt the best outcome for our shareholders and other stakeholders,” said Vincent K. LSU Tigers Win Women's National Title 102-85 Over Caitlin Clark and Iowa

The story seemed like it was written for Caitlin Clark, but truly, Kim Mulkey, Angel Reese, and the LSU Tigers held the pen. The Tigers beat the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85 to win their first NCAA national championship.

Guard Jasmine Carson powered the Tigers to the win in the highest-scoring national title game of all time. Dallas roared as both teams battled, but the LSU portion of the crowd grew louder as the game ended.

“I already knew [Iowa guard Caitlin Clark] could score 50; you still ain’t gonna beat us as a team,” LSU freshman Flau’jae Johnson said to ESPN. “We just put 100 on the board. You’ve got to look at the stat sheet.”

Clark would drop 30 and 8 assists but was hampered by foul trouble. Reese had 15 and 10, notching the most double-doubles in a single NCAA season at 34. Alexis Morris added 21, Carson 22, Johnson 10.

Carson spoke about her sharpshooting, stating, “It was just my night.”

“Everybody knew if Jasmine was on, we’re winning the natty,” Johnson said. “She’s a sharpshooter; that’s what she does.”

The Tigers did grab that Natty. And Reese had a simple message at the end: “You can’t see me.”

Snoop Dogg At WrestleMania 39: Rapper Pins The Miz With A People’s Elbow

Snoop Dogg has surpassed half a century of life, but his rising age isn’t stopping him from continuing to make epic moves in the music industry and beyond. After throwing his hat in the ring to perform at Prince Charles’ upcoming coronation last week, the rapper is now showing off his strength in the ring at WrestleMania 39. On Sunday (April 2), the Doggfather made headlines by pinning WWE Superstar The Miz using a People’s Elbow that’s earning him plenty of praise online.

As TMZ reports, the 51-year-old was at SoFi Stadium when he brought out Shane McMahon as a surprise competitor for the Ohio-born fighter. The Miz and his contemporary entertained the crowd for a bit, but before long, Snoop intervened and set his sights on taking down Michael Mizanin. Ever the entertainer, the “Gin N Juice” hitmaker stood above his opponent to showboat for some time before dropping on him elbow first and ending the battle with a three count. “This is humiliating!!!” announcers watching on declared.

Snoop Dogg Shows off His Strength

The Miz was caught off guard by Snoop’s attack on him, sources say. He was “fully expecting a casual interaction” with the west coast legend. Instead, he fell victim – and not for the first time this weekend. The sold-out crowd was obviously overcome with surprise by what they witnessed. Still, the winner managed to keep a cool head and maintain his composure. While he certainly left with his head held high, the same isn’t true for the 42-year-old. He took on a beatdown at the hands of Geroge Kittle and Pat McAfee just hours before.

Plenty of wild antics have already been unfolding in Los Angeles, and there are still two more nights of WrestleMania 39 to go. Elsewhere at the event, Lil Uzi Vert dropped by to perform their “Just Wanna Rock” single, which they’ve also taken to The Tonight Show stage and Dreamville Festival over the past few days. Have you been tuning into the ongoing events? Let us know what you’re most looking forward to ahead of the grand finale in the comments, and check back later for more pop culture news updates.

Drake Brought Out 21 Savage, GloRilla, Lil Uzi Vert, And Lil Wayne During His Dreamville Festival Set

Drake and J. Cole may have been billed as co-headliners of Dreamville Festival Sunday night but Drake’s portion of the set turned into a mini-festival of its own as he brought out a plethora of special guests to round out the show. Amid a hit-strewn set that saw Drake bring out fan favorites spanning all the way back to his debut album, the Canadian superstar still found space to surprise fans with some familiar faces.

First, he introduced the crowd to breakout Memphis star GloRilla, who performed her viral hit “FNF (Let’s Go).” Then, without warning, Lil Uzi Vert appeared, sporting a relatively low-key look (for Lil Uzi Vert), prompting performances of “XO Tour Llif3” and “Just Wanna Rock.” As Drake performed his 2011 party cut “The Motto,” his Young Money boss Lil Wayne popped out to contribute not just his verse from the song but also performances of “Uproar” and “A Milli.”

Then, before wrapping things up, Drake invited his Her Loss collaborator 21 Savage to the stage to perform a pair of their joint tracks, “Knife Talk” and “Rich Flex.”

As his set came to a close, Drake was joined by J. Cole, and the pair spent the last few minutes of the festival showing their appreciation for each other (again) before J. Cole closed things out with his fan-favorite hit “No Role Modelz.”

You can watch the videos above.
