They Said ‘Avatar’ Has No Cultural Impact, But Now Lizzo Is Doing Na’vi Thirst Traps And We Don’t Know What To Believe

The original 2009 Avatar movie and the new Avatar: The Way Of Water film are both major hits. Box office numbers don’t lie. Regardless, there have been questions about what cultural impact the series (the first movie, more specifically) has actually had. Of course, this discourse is all subjective, but if Avatar didn’t have impact, then why is Lizzo on the beach doing Na’vi thirst traps?

In a TikTok video shared today (January 9), the right half of the frame shows a female Na’vi walking on the beach. On the left is Lizzo, doing a spot-on imitation of the character in a clip that was Avatar-ized with a video filter. She later shared another video of herself with the filter, enjoying some time in the water. “tell James Cameron I’m ready…,” she captioned the second video.

Hey, James Cameron: Lizzo is ready.

Speaking of Cameron, he addressed the “cultural impact” conversation in a recent interview, saying, “There’s skepticism in the marketplace around, ‘Oh, did it ever make any real cultural impact? Can anybody even remember the characters’ names?’ When you have extraordinary success, you come back within the next three years. That’s just how the industry works. You come back to the well, and you build that cultural impact over time. Marvel had maybe 26 movies to build out a universe, with the characters cross-pollinating. So it’s an irrelevant argument. We’ll see what happens after this film.”

Lizzo is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

He continued: “It would still be two of us. He’d still be 50 Cent as the artist and I’d be the largest asset to us.”

Despite dropping many mixtapes and appearing on collaborative projects, Yayo has only released one studio album. Thoughts of a Predicate Felon debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 back in 2005.

One of the best sneakers in the Jumpman range is the Air Jordan 12. This is a shoe that debuted back in 1997, and it has made a strong impression since. There have been some truly iconic versions of this shoe, including the “Flu Game.” Overall, this is a model that fans have had no trouble supporting.

These last few years have been particularly good for the Jordan 12. There has been a steady stream of new offerings. Additionally, the brand has come through with a few retros here and there. Needless to say, the Jordan 12 is doing just fine, and fans are loving what they’ve seen.

Air Jordan 12 Retro?

According to a new post from Instagram sneaker insider @zsneakerheadz, the Air Jordan 12 “Cherry” is potentially going to come back this year. That would certainly be huge as the “Cherry” model is fairly beloved. It is an OG model, and it is one that fans have wanted back.

As you can see from the image below, the shoe has that iconic Michael Jordan Bulls flair to it. Firstly, the upper is covered in white leather. From there, we get some nice red that goes from the toe box to the mudguard. Subsequently, black is placed on the back heel tab and the inner lining of the shoe.

Hopefully, this rumor is true. The Jordan 12 is great, but having a retro release this year would certainly help bring forth some hype. As for the silhouette as a whole, we’re sure the brand has plenty of colorways on the horizon.

Release Rumors

According to early reports, if this shoe were to make it to the market, it would drop during the Holiday period of 2023. For now, however, this has yet to be confirmed. Having said that, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest news from the sneaker world. Additionally, let us know what you think of these, in the comments below.

Wack 100 Appears On “Crazy In Love,” Blueface Insists On Calling Chrisean Rock “Bitch”

Reality TV is specifically known for documenting the most interesting of couples, and Blueface and Chrisean Rock are no exception. In late 2022, Zeus premiered their Crazy In Love series, which follows the two entertainers through the countless ups and downs of their romantic relationship.

The first episode of the year markedly made its debut on Sunday (January 8). Onscreen, more drama between the “Thotiana” rapper and his partner played out as he took a trip to Las Vegas without her. At the same time, she decided to head over to Baltimore, which subsequently resulted in him blocking her number and apparently deleting a video of them together from his page.

Despite the chaos, Rock still tried to have a good time, stepping her “rich p*ssy” out on the town with a friend to take her mind off of things.

Elsewhere in the latest episode, the couple found themselves feuding over Blueface wanting to call the 22-year-old a “bitch.” In a clip posted to @theneighborhood talk, he tells her, “You not finna disrespect me for no reason.”

Cutting him off, Chrisean says, “You call me a bitch all the time, bro.” Immediately, the California native claps back, “Okay, and you are one. I’ll call you a bitch right now! ‘Cuz that’s what you are.”

As the bickering continues, she asks to be called by her first name. “Do you have a vagina?” Blue asks her. “My name is Chrisean,” she calmly responds.

“You wanna be a n*gga so bad. You wanna be a man so bad. I don’t wanna be with a man, I want to be with a bitch,” the 25-year-old explicitly tells her. “You call your friend and your friend call you bitch all day long. Why you get offended ‘cuz I said it?”

The argument then escalates to some yelling, at which point Blueface urges Rock to “find [herself].”

While that moment has certainly been making rounds on social media, Wack 100’s appearance in the episode also has people talking. During his stint on Crazy In Love, the music executive made it clear that he thinks Chrisean is “a distraction” to her beau.

R. Kelly Claims Tasha K Tampered With Witnesses In His Case

He will likely spend the remainder of his life behind bars, and allegations against R. Kelly are still pouring in. The disgraced music great was once hailed as one of the best in the business, but these days, his fans are defending his legacy. For decades, Kelly has faced ongoing accusations of child pornography and sex crimes, and he has faced his days in court.

Dozens of outlets tracked and covered Kelly’s trials in New York City and Chicago, but Kelly is paying particular attention to Tasha K. According to him, the YouTuber tampered with witnesses. “Tasha shared my information with the government witness in my case in New York,” Kelly said in a call. “I knew nothing about it ’til I got to Chicago, and it was in the Sun-Times and in the Tribune.”

The jailed singer added that “it was proven to be true” because they quoted “verbatim everything that Tasha K said that I was saying to my girlfriend.” The host asked if he was referencing Azriel Clary. Kelly answered, “I can’t name any names because that’s my case.”

“The only thing I can say is that, you’re not supposed to do that,” he added. “It’s okay to have witnesses on stands, cases, all of that. No problem. But they’re not supposed to be scorned witnesses. They’re not supposed to be witnesses that’s mad with you because they may have seen some emails or heard some phone calls between you and another woman.”

“That is not how you’re supposed to get your witnesses or have your witnesses.”

It seems that Kelly believes Tasha K interfered by turning the women in his life against him just before their testimonies.

The singer also detailed alleged interactions between his girlfriend and others in 2019 he claims he’s been trying to tell the world about for years. Meanwhile, Tasha has a hefty judgment against her; she’s battling against having to pay Cardi B $4 million.

Emily Ratajkowski & Eric Andre Enjoy Night Out In NYC

Emily Ratajkowski went out with comedian Eric Andre on Saturday in New York City. The date night comes months after finalizing her divorce from Sebastian Bear-McClard.

She’s also been linked to DJ Orazio Rispo, Jack Greer, and Pete Davidson in recent months. Ratajkowski and Davison went on several dates in November.

Ratajkowski and Andre were spotted walking with their arms around one another throughout the night. They reportedly dined at Sakagura in Midtown for upwards of three hours before making several other stops.

The 31-year-old model recently discussed her dating life on her High Low with EmRata podcast. Ratajkowski admitted to attracting “the worst men.”

“I feel like I attract the worst men,” she said. “Sometimes I’m like, fuck, because I want a confident man. I don’t want an overly confident man who has something to prove and is trying to prove it through me. That is not what I want.”

“That’s what I hate with dating … men in particular,” the Gone Girl star further said. “They’re like, ‘OK, yes, you’re special. You’ve done it.’ And they love it and love it, and then slowly they get emasculated and don’t know what to do with those feelings, and then they resent you. They start to tear you down, and then you’re back to square one.”

She added: “And it’s so fucked up and unfair, because I feel like a lot of men who truly think they want a strong woman actually don’t know how to handle it and … what it means for their own identity.”
