Cardi B’s Fear Of Getting Canceled Prevents Her From Speaking Her Mind

It goes without saying that being a major star like Cardi B comes with a great deal of pressure. According to her, the fear of being criticized often holds her back from sharing how she feels. During a recent appearance on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the hitmaker opened up about being afraid to say much of anything about polarizing topics. The femcee claims that this is because she doesn’t want to get “canceled.” She explained that while critics frequently accuse her of being scared to release new music, the truth of the matter is that she’s scared to do “everything.”

“That’s why I just disappear for a long time because I feel like fame stripped me from myself. And now I’m like being back to myself,” she described. “There’s a lot of music critics that just be like, ‘Cardi is scared to drop an album. She’s scared to drop music.’ No, I’m scared to do everything. I’m scared to talk about politics, I’m scared to talk about my life, I’m scared to talk about anything.”

Cardi B Stops By Big Boy’s Neighborhood

Fortunately, however, Cardi hasn’t let her fears stop her from sharing her music completely. Today, for example, she unveiled her highly-anticipated new single, “Enough (Miami).” She also teamed up with SZA to hop on a remix of Flo Milli’s viral hit “Never Lose Me” which dropped today. This all appears to be a part of Cardi’s return to her old self, which she teased in a heartfelt apology to fans last week.

“I want to apologize to my fans. To my fans, to myself, and to the people that love me for losing myself,” she told viewers during a livestream. “This has been a really hard journey to be back myself again.” What do you think of Cardi B admitting that she’s afraid of getting canceled? Check out Yo Gotti’s full comments on JAY-Z below from his interview with Big Boy.

Yo Gotti Discusses JAY-Z

It’s not the first time Gotti has shared his respect for JAY-Z. While taking a controversial position in favor of 360 deals in music, he quoted JAY-Z on the Earn Your Leisure podcast, last month. “I feel like business is business, right? Going back to what I was saying about myself and my younger days, in my younger business ventures, I think business is business. I think Hov said, ‘What’s 100 percent of 0?’ Right, so to me, you ain’t thinking logical when you think you get everything and nobody get nothing from you. That’s not common sense, bro.” Gotti and JAY-Z also recently teamed up to work on the documentary, Exposing Parchman. Yo Gotti’s new project, I Showed U So, is available now.

Moneybagg Yo Shares Why He’s “Hard To Love”

Moneybagg Yo recently appeared on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, where he shared why he believes he’s hard to love. Big Boy and the rapper discussed relationships, and how finding and maintaining balance in one’s life can be a struggle. They shared their personal experiences, and Moneybagg Yo claimed he thinks “people are hard to love.”

Moneybagg Yo revealed that he believes nowadays, “people don’t come with good intentions.” He continued, saying he has “trust issues” and has “been through a lot with the people that are close to [him.]” Big Boy responded, telling the rapper, “for somebody to stab you, they’ve got to be close.” He went on to explain that he “subtracts all the bullshit” from his life. They continued to discuss balance, and cutting negative people, in particular, out. Moneybagg Yo explained that it’s easy to be “blind” to a person’s toxic behavior if they’re someone close to you, but regardless, he believes “they gotta go.” “Sometimes we keep going back and making the same mistakes because of who the person is,” Big Boy adds. “That made me hard to love,” Moneybagg Yo claims.

He told followers on Twitter, writing, “I just got the news my little baby Taylor dropping tonight. I ain’t gonna lie, y’all know how I feel about Taylor, man.” The rapper later dropped a new music video for his single “Ocean Spray,” to hold fans over.

Moneybagg Yo also spoke out about Ja Morant’s recent incident where he flashed a gun on Instagram Live. He shared that he believes the athlete’s behavior is “just a phase.” The rapper stated in an interview, “He probably don’t even understand. When I was exactly 23, 24… it was like I was just doing stuff and people had to tell me, or I had to bump my head. So I’m grateful to make it out those situations. Some people don’t even shake back from certain situations, you feel me?” He continued, adding, “[Morant] probably don’t believe this is life. You have those stages.”

Xzibit Shrugs Off Dr. Dre’s “Abusive” Perfectionism

Xzibit doesn’t mind dealing with perfectionists, at least not if the perfectionist is Dr. Dre. In a new interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the rapper reminisced about the recording of his album Man vs. Machine. At the time, there was an incident where Dr. Dre made him re-record a single line approximately 500 times. Xzibit revealed that this particular incident occurred while he and Dre, representing the West Coast, were working on the track “Multiply.” The song eventually became a single in 2002 featuring the late Nate Dogg.

“That took me about two-three hours to get that line,” Xzibit said, speaking about his intro. “Because he wanted me to sound like a down-south preacher… ‘I been this way and I can’t stop.’ No. I couldn’t understand why or where he was trying to take me but I wasn’t fighting. He sat there patiently with me like, ‘Nope, try it again.’” Even though it sounds like Dr. Dre ran a pretty tight ship, sometimes that’s the way greatness is born. “I was expecting to keep it going,” Xzibit continued, “and when he said, ‘Play that back.’ Hold on, I think we got something.”

Xzibit And Dr. Dre Are Working On New Music

According to Xzibit, he and Dr. Dre continue to collaborate to this day as he gears up for an upcoming album. He assures that this album will showcase some of his most exceptional work yet, but he also hints that it might potentially be his final solo project. “We’re going through it and finetuning the records for my new album and Dre’s involved,” the rapper said. “He has this thing with my voice and it’s funny he says, ‘You start in fifth gear. When you come on, you come on like a chainsaw.’” Xzibit’s new album has been teased for a while. The title, King Maker, has been common knowledge for quite some time.

“The songs are coming out really dope and I’m feeling really good about the project. It’s a different scenario when you could record because you want to not because you have to… I feel like this is my last album that I’m gonna put together as Xzibit the solo artist.” What do you think of the new stories coming out from Xzibit? Are you excited to hear what he and Dr. Dre have been working on? Let us know in the comments!

LL COOL J Says Being Sampled By The Notorious B.I.G. & Rick Ross Makes Him A “True Artist”

LL COOL J says that The Notorious B.I.G. and Rick Ross having sampled him solidified his legacy as a “true artist.” The legendary rapper explained why he feels this is the case during an interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood. Biggie’s 1997 track “Going Back to Cali,” samples LL COOL J’s song of the same name, while Rick Ross’ 2006 song, “I’m Bad,” also samples an LL COOL J song of the same name. Ross also sampled “I Need Love” for 2010’s “Aston Martin Music.”

“I love it,” he said when asked about Biggie’s Life After Death song. “I used to play it all the time, I loved it. Going going, back back, to Cali. I love it. He name-dropped me. I mean, Rick Ross did ‘I’m Bad’ over on one of his albums early on, that’s part of it.”

He continued: “Look, being used as source material is the stamp of you being a true artist. When other artists use you as source material. You know what I’m saying? When they use you for inspiration, that’s showing that you’ve really touched the world. And the beauty of it is, is when you really know it’s deep is when other people don’t even know that they’ve utilized you for source material. So I can sit there and watch a kid listening to ‘Going Back to Cali’ by Biggie and just sit there and say to myself, ‘Wow, I did that.’ That’s an incredible feeling because there’s something beautiful about the fact that you inspired another artist and they’re touching fans with utilizing you as inspiration.”

The interview comes as LL COOL J prepares to embark on his F.O.R.C.E. Tour. For his first arena tour in 30 years. he’ll be teaming up with The Roots, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and DJ Z-Trip. The shows will run all over North America from June through September.

LL Cool J Laughed At Jay-Z’s Old Raps

LL Cool J is one of the few rap stars that you would never guess hasn’t been to the infamous Roc Nation Brunch. However, the “Around the Way Girl” rhymer begs to differ. During a recent sit-down with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the rap legend recollected a few memories from the past. As they walked down memory lane, Big Boy asked LL Cool J about a time when he laughed at Roc Nation CEO Jay-Z’s rhymes. LL told the veteran radio personality about the times when he and Hov would riff off of each other’s raps as teens.

Additionally, LL Cool J admitted that although he laughed at Jay, he didn’t even remember doing it. Despite their friendly relationship, the rap icon has yet to be invited to the Roc Nation Brunch. Imagine laughing at one of Hov’s rhymes and having to pay an eternal fee of never enjoying one of the most lavish brunch’s on Earth? Yeah, we can’t either. However, LL did mention wanting to get past this so maybe one day he can attend.

LL Cool Wants The Invite

Furthermore, LL Cool J told Big Boy he loves everybody and has no problems with any of his contemporaries. However, he did say, “If I laughed, you know, okay so what? Laugh at me.” He continued bringing up a valid point saying, “How many people have you laughed or snapped on in the lunchroom?” LL Cool J has a point, folks were ruthless during lunch in high school. Despite making a grave mistake in chortling at Jigga’s raps, LL humbly asked for the pass in classic New York fashion. “C’mon B, let me get a pass on this nonsense, this is ridiculous,” he told the radio host.

The Hip-Hop icon jokingly said, “I laughed at you so now I can’t get no brunch?” Additionally, Big Boy also shared LL’s pain sharing that he too has yet to attend the coveted brunch. As the pair laughed, Big Boy threw in that it seems both of them won’t be going to the Roc Nation Brunch in the near future after their conversation. However, you never know, Hov might have a change of heart. Then again, Jay did play Wonderwall out of pure pettiness, so it’s a toss-up. So who really got the last laugh? Let the HNHH crew know in the comments below!

Tony Rock Says Will Smith Lied, Never Reached Out To Brother Chris Rock

If there is one thing Tony Rock will do, it’s defend his brother, Chris Rock. The pair not only share DNA but are both accomplished actors in the industry. They consistently tour and can be found performing standup from coast to coast, and each has decades of success. So, it came as no surprise that when Will Smith slapped Chris on the Academy Awards stage last year, Tony would be his champion defender.

The Rock brothers have separately worked with Smith. Tony starred in the 2000s series All of Us, executive produced by Will and his wife Jada. He knows the couple well and spoke about his brother’s plight with the Smiths while visiting Big Boy’s Neighborhood. There, Tony refuted rumors that Smith reached out to Chris to make amends. “That wasn’t true, that wasn’t true,” he said on the radio show. “I think like, two nights later, he said, ‘I reached out to Chris, and he didn’t want to talk.’ That wasn’t true.”

Tony Rock Still Isn’t Happy With His Former Friend

Smith has delivered several public apologies to Chris Rock, but the acknowledgment doesn’t seem to be enough. “He doesn’t owe me anything, I just thought we were better than that,” said Tony. “My phone number has never changed. So, I just thought I’d get a phone call one day like, ‘Ay, let’s just you and I just talk.’ It hasn’t happened, so I guess it’s not going to happen.”

This is a much more subtle reaction than Tony Rock’s previous responses. In prior interviews, he unleashed on the Smiths, especially Jada. Because the Oscars moment seemed to stem from Chris’s joke about her bald head, Tony followed suit. Much like Chris’s scathing takes in Selective Outrage, Tony has also referred to Jada as a “b*tch” and faulted her for the infamous moment. Additionally, last July, Tony suggested Smith became frustrated because Jada continued to emasculate him with mentions of her friendship with Tupac Shakur. Meanwhile, in a recent interview, Kevin Hart also addressed the rift between Chris and Will. He hopes that the controversy dies down and the pair reunite. Watch more from Tony Rock above.

Kevin Gates Speaks On Kobe Bryant’s Passing And Freestyles Mid-Story

In a new interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood, Kevin Gates shared a story of where he was when Kobe Bryant tragically passed away. Furthermore, he spoke of the negativity he felt in the air on that day before the news broke. However, many raised eyebrows at Gates as he freestyles in the middle of his story. Still, the Louisiana native shared a chilling account of January 26, 2020. Moreover, the NBA star and his 13-year-old daughter Giana tragically passed in a helicopter crash. While his loss continues to sting, this is one of many testimonies that kept and will continue to keep his spirit alive.

“The crash site [was] seven minutes from my house,” he expressed. “Rest In Peace the Black Mamba. This here going to Virginia, got a hundred keys in a black Honda (that’s the freestyle part). All of this was going on at the time. My nana came in. I told my tattoo artist- remember I told you? I said, ‘Man, I don’t feel like we should leave the house today. We just need to stay in today.’ She came right to the house. I hate to even say this, but that’s what happened. She came in the house and was like, ‘They say Kobe just had a helicopter crash.’”

Furthermore, Big Boy asked, “So you said ‘We shouldn’t leave the house before?” “Before that s**t happened,” Gates replied. “That s**t happened seven minutes from my house. Like, weird s**t like that always be happening to me.” Ironically, the 37-year-old previously called Bryant a “rat” before his untimely passing. Granted, it was nearly four years before the tragic incident, and he made those claims after Kobe’s last game. From what Gates said, he claimed that Kobe snitched on Shaquille O’Neal during Mamba’s alleged rape trial.

Regardless, those emotions and postures mean nothing in the face of the immense void the legendary Laker left behind. This year, millions of fans remembered his legacy on the anniversary of his passing. Moreover, they shared some of their favorite memories of his games, his character, and the joy he gave so many. As Kevin Gates and others reflect on his absence, stay tuned to HNHH for the latest on Kobe Bryant’s legacy.

Eminem Turned Down $8 Million To Perform With 50 Cent At The FIFA World Cup

Argentina made history at the 2022 FIFA World Cup, leading to momentous celebrations upon their return to their home fans. Apparently, the only thing missing from this significant sports moment was rap music legend, Eminem. While Nicki Minaj, Maluma, and Myriam teamed up for the official FIFA fan festival anthem, attendees, according to 50 Cent (real name Curtis Jackson), could have been treated to an in-person performance from the Detroit native.

During his visit to REAL 92.3 FM’s show Big Boy’s Neighborhood, the mogul revealed Eminem turned down the opportunity to perform at the FIFA World Cup.

“I got an inquiry about World Cup, and they had a budget of $9 million. I would’ve taken one, and then the other eight would have been for him.” However, it was quickly shot down after sharing the proposal with Eminem’s manager Paul Rosenberg.

“[Paul] like, he’s not gonna do it.” While Jackson has discussed on multiple occasions how he’s walked away from lucrative deals, including a $1.3 million offer from Universal Music Group, he was shocked to hear Eminem’s decision considering he has performed at the Super Bowl with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Mary J. Blige, and 50 Cent.

Jackson mentioned their Superbowl performance and said, “If you would do a one-off show, maybe you would do the biggest live sporting event in the world,” said Jackson referring to the World Cup.

Although Jackson doesn’t explicitly mention which year his mentor was asked to perform at the sporting competition, the rumor about the league having a hard time booking talent for last year’s series in Qatar may have some truth to it overall.

During the same interview, Jackson shared that he is currently working on a television series honoring Eminem’s life and legacy, “I wanna bring… I’m gonna bring 8 Mile to television,” said Jackson, “We in motion. It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds.”

50 Cent Says He Wishes Tony Yayo Blew Up Instead Of Him

50 Cent says that he wishes Tony Yayo‘s career had taken off instead of his own. 50 discussed how his career took off during a recent interview with Big Boy’s Neighborhood.

The legendary New York rapper says that after the release of his 2003 album Get Rich or Die Tryin’, he wanted to bring all of G-Unit with him to the top.

“My solo album took off so big that I just brought them with me,” 50 said. “So it was clear that it was me creating opportunity for everybody else in the crew, but we was all together. I wish it would have been Yayo, because then I coulda did all of the business. If he woulda did what 50 Cent did, then I would have been running the whole thing.”

He continued: “It would still be two of us. He’d still be 50 Cent as the artist and I’d be the largest asset to us.”

Despite dropping many mixtapes and appearing on collaborative projects, Yayo has only released one studio album. Thoughts of a Predicate Felon debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 back in 2005.

Yayo recently discussed 50’s impact on his career during an interview with the Only Way Out Podcast. He admitted that 50 helped him “survive a lot of shit.”

Elsewhere in his discussion on Big Boy’s Neighborhood, 50 revealed that he’s working on an 8 Mile TV series with Eminem.

“It’s gonna be big. I’m working. I ain’t got no duds,” he said. “I’m batting 100 … I think it should be there for [Eminem’s] legacy because it’s important to me that they understand it.”
