Future & Metro Boomin’s “WE DON’T TRUST YOU” First Week Sales Projections Are In

Future and Metro Boomin just set the rap world ablaze with their new collaborative album WE DON’T TRUST YOU for a couple of reasons. All of them, though, have contributed to a lot of discussion, debate, and of course, a whole lot of play on digital platforms. Moreover, we now have the first wave of first week sales projections for the LP, and they are a pretty promising prediction. If the legendary Southern trap duo keeps their pace up, they are expected to move between 190K and 220K album-equivalent units. This would certainly land them high on the Billboard 200 albums chart, and points to a very likely No. 1 debut.

In addition, there’s one song whose viral status and rap game-shattering status has a big chance to land in the top three of Billboard‘s Hot 100 song chart -– and ironically, it’s about the Big Three. If for some reason you haven’t heard Kendrick Lamar’s guest verse on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” yet, then you’re in for a treat, so stop reading right now if you don’t want spoilers. Well, we already spoiled the former TDE lyricist’s surprise feature, but that’s beside the point. In his feature performance, he challenges Drake and J. Cole, dismissing their status as the “Big Three” of 2010s and current hip-hop and proclaiming himself to be the sole top dog.

Future & Metro Boomin’s Commercial Performance For WE DON’T TRUST YOU Is Great So Far

What’s more is that Future and Metro Boomin allegedly had plenty of reasons to welcome Kendrick Lamar’s shots here. For example, there are rumors that Future and Drake have beef right now, as people have pointed to specific lines on WE DON’T TRUST YOU as “evidence” of this. Regardless of fans’ excitement at another rap feud, this is all very speculative right now. As such, we just have to wait and see whether this develops in a battlefield or behind relatively closed doors, as nothing is safe from the Internet.

Meanwhile, Metro and Drake supposedly have their own rough patch to handle. Even though most of this article spoke on these alleged beefs, WE DON’T TRUST YOU is much more than just this narrative. Folks and the media are just going wild over this story, but there are plenty of bangers, standout lines, incredible production moments, and solid sequencing to make this album greater than the sum of its parts. As if all this wasn’t enough, Spotify announced that this is the most streamed album in a single day of 2024 so far. With another team-up full-length record coming from them in just a couple of weeks, if everything goes as scheduled, fans expect this reunion to get even better. Let’s see how it fares. For more news and the latest updates on Future, Metro Boomin, and their collaborative albums, stay up to date on HNHH.

Shakira Is Making A Statement With Her First LP In Seven Years With “Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran”

Shakira is making some serious waves in the music world right now. If you have not been paying attention, the Barraquilla, Colombia pop megastar has just come back after a seven-year album hiatus. Sure, she was there with some deluxe/concert versions of past works such as Laundry Service and El Dorado. But with Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran, Shakira has mostly all new material and a topical focus that is extremely personal to her.

In a recent interview with Apple Music, she was passionate about this album’s messages and themes. “In a way, it’s kind of good not to have a husband.” Well then Shakira! There have been some pieces written about how “Punteria,” one of the singles and the opener, is her fending off the inner voice telling her to fall back on a past relationship. That being with her now ex-husband Gerard Piqué, who Shakira has not minced words on since their split.

For those who held their breath until Normani released new music, you can take that well-deserved deep exhale. Yesterday (March 22), the singer took to her official X (formerly Twitter) page to tease that a major announcement regarding her long-awaited debut album, Dopamine, would arrive today.

As promised, today (March 23), Normani announced the title, release date, and featured artist of the project’s forthcoming lead single. So, come April 26, the body of work’s first taste, “1:59,” will shut down the doubters.

For now, not much else is known about the upcoming track. But after several false album rollout starts filled with bangers such as 2019’s “Motivation” and 2021’s “Wild Side” featuring Cardi B, this news is just the reassurance fans needed. The time of clapping back at trolls online for claiming “she’s not hungry” for music anymore is behind her. Normani is locked in, so supporters will continue to hope.

During a sit-down with Who What Wear Normani, she discussed the project’s sonic vision. “The album feels like a liberation and like a season of freedom,” she said. “Not just because the record is finally coming out, but because it’s a celebration of everything [she] has been through to get to this moment.”

Some artists covered here are Warner Music artists. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Dopamine is out this year via RCA Records. Find more information here.

Joe Budden Loves Kendrick Lamar’s Diss To Drake & J. Cole On Future & Metro Boomin’s “WE DON’T TRUST YOU”

The hip-hop world will probably continue to reel from Kendrick Lamar’s guest verse dissing Drake and J. Cole on Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That” off of their new album WE DON’T TRUST YOU for a couple more weeks. Moreover, a lot of folks are taking sides on whether Kendrick, Aubrey, or Cole are on top, and on what “team” they’re on. But for a lot of people, including The Joe Budden Podcast, they’re just excited to see this competitive nature return to rap’s main stage. On the latest episode of the program, the Slaughterhouse MC and his co-hosts debated about this verse.

As you’ll see below, it’s a very long clip and a very dense discussion, in which all the podcasters involved go through a lot of different topics. A salient one, pushed the most by Joe Budden himself, is that this is bringing an end to the “fake” nature of hip-hop relationships, something that Kendrick Lamar suggested about Drake and J. Cole’s current partnership. Budden brought up that Travis Scott had asked Future and Metro Boomin to play “Like That” at Rolling Loud L.A. despite his connection to Drizzy. Overall, they loved to see the gloves come off and for the Compton creative to throw hands.

The Joe Budden Podcast Dissects “Like That” & Compares It To “First Person Shooter”: Watch

Of course, The Joe Budden Podcast also broke down the bars themselves on the “Like That” verse, and compared it to Drake and J. Cole’s “First Person Shooter” verses. By connecting the dots, it’s not hard to see what could’ve provoked Kendrick Lamar to fire up, and they anticipate that the 6ix God and the Dreamville boss won’t take long to respond. This is also curious because Joe Budden had placed Cole about Kendrick and The Boy when it comes to current rankings. But, as he clarified in this new podcast, he wants to see Mr. Morale challenge that claim, and he’s very happy that he did.

Meanwhile, where do you fall on this debate? Who is the top dog here, what does it say about interpersonal rap relationships, and do you think that Fewtch and Metro are officially taking an anti-OVO stance after a lot of beef rumors? However you may feel, drop your thoughts down in the comments section below. As always, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Kendrick Lamar, Drake, J. Cole, Future, Metro Boomin, and The Joe Budden Podcast.

Tristan Thompson Ordered To Pay Baby Mama $58K In Owed Child Support

A judge has ordered Tristan Thompson to pay Maralee Nichols $58K in owed child support. Thompson reportedly skipped payments between September 2023 and January 2024 after being ordered to pay Nichols $9.5K a month. The couple share a two-year-old son, Theo.

Of course, Theo isn’t the only child Thompson has been accused of neglecting. “Its been so hard to refrain from speaking up, and out of respect for my sister, I haven’t for over 7 years. but this is just too much. It’s so painful to see how Tristan can find the time to do these nice things for others but can’t seem to show up and be a real parent to my nephew Prince,” read a post from the sister of another of Thompson’s BMs last year. Additionally, the post went on to call out Kim Kardashian for defending Thompson’s character on a “global platform”.

Is Tristan Thompson A Sociopath? Kourtney Kardashian Grills NBA Star

Elsewhere, Kourtney Kardashian spent most of her time on the latest season of The Kardashians going after Thompson. “I see these TikTok videos and there’s these people and they’re like, ‘I am a sociopath narcissist. I have no empathy, no feelings.’ Do you think there’s any part of you that relates to that?” Kardashian asked Thompson in a late-season episode. Thompson attempted to deflect, focusing his response on Khloé. “You should definitely feel the way you feel, 100%, because if it was my sister, I’d feel the same way. I think for me, you know, I want Khloé to be happy and whatever that may be, I’m fully supportive of that,” Thompson replied.

However, Kourtney remained unconvinced. “Yeah, like if the actions don’t match the words, it’s hard to believe the person with the actions,” she shot back at Thompson. Furthermore, Kourtney took aim at not just Thompson, but also her family at large. “In this family, you guys are so lucky — all the guys — because for whatever reason, it’s held a higher priority of, ‘Let’s keep everyone happy and getting along, and let’s make sure Tristan is at Christmas Eve and everyone’s there, and it’s one big happy family and let’s make sure everything’s fun and happy’. For some reason, that takes a priority in this family over setting a boundary or having someone’s back or having someone’s side,” Kourtney lamented.

Flee Lord & Conway The Machine Lyrically Spar On Crisis-Produced “Drum Mobb”

Flee Lord and Crisis did a great job promoting their now-released collaborative project Full Court Press. They did so about a week ago with the basketball-inspired “Play Amongst The Stars.” It featured one of the greatest lyricists of all-time, Inspectah Deck, as well. This is something that the rapper and producer duo is known for. Their love of basketball was prevalent on their previous team effort 2-3 Zone. So, you can view this latest album as a sequel of sorts. Today, we wanted to highlight Flee Lord and Crisis’ track “Drum Mobb.”

This is another one of the plentiful collaborative tracks on the record. Speaking of features, listeners will find artists like Trizz, Tiona Deniece, Mummz, and Conway the Machine. Additionally, Full Court Press has 13 tracks at just a runtime of 38 minutes and change. Furthermore, Flee Lord and Conway are no strangers by any means with each other.

This is now one of over 10 meet ups, so you know the chemistry is already going to be there. Sure enough it is and both provide some hard-hitting and catchy flows. Additionally, each rapper hits a nice pocket in the Crisis beat that goes hard with the drum pattern. Conway especially brings a fun performance with his drawn out “o” sounds. Be sure to check out Flee Lord and Crisis’ new album and this track.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song, “Drum Mobb,” by Flee Lord, Crisis, and Conway the Machine? Is this the best song off of Full Court Press, why or why not? Who had the stronger rapping performance on the track and why? Is this Crisis’ strongest instrumental on the project, why or why not? Boosie Badazz Pays Tribute To His Fallen Friends On Murals Of His Mansion

Boosie Badazz’s mansion has been a big part of his headlines these days, although an unfortunate recent example involved a stalker at his home. However, there are many more reasons to be interested and invested in this property, and all those reasons are lost souls that he wants to honor and pay tribute to. Moreover, the Baton Rouge rapper recently got a mural at his mansion that features the likenesses of four of his friends who passed away. What’s more is that he also revealed plans to add another wall of tributes around his pool, yet it’s a bit unclear if they will depict other deceased loved ones or other gems in his life.

Of course, Boosie Badazz not only wants to pay tribute to those who aren’t around anymore, but also to stamp his name in the game and make sure his legacy lives on. This provoked a recent spat with Ye, who claimed that he invented the popular styles of music of the past 20 years. The 41-year-old took strong issue with this statement, offering himself up as an example of important hip-hop (and music at large) that exists outside of the Yeezy orbit of influence. While some fans debated this point heavily, it’s hard to argue that taking credit for all music of the past two decades is an exaggeratory statement.

You know how many rappers I raised out there, bro?” Boosie recently remarked during an Instagram livestream. “Like, who don’t give me my flowers. Everybody quiet bro. They don’t wanna be looked at, they don’t wanna be on my side and be looked at like you supporting Boosie. That’s what I be thinking it is. But, they’ll give Kanye his flowers, people like that. But, Boosie, you know.”

Meanwhile, the Trill Entertainment MC recently hosted his titular Bash with a lot of special guests. It was overall a pretty fun affair from the looks of it. More importantly for him, most likely, it’s a space to celebrate his craft, the people that helped him along the way, the people he continues to help, and those who aren’t around to see the fruits of their labor.
