JT Says She’s Still Hungry Even After New City Girls Album

Over the weekend, JT and Yung Miami, AKA City Girls, released their new album RAW. Their first new album in 3 years sports features from Lil Durk, Muni Long, Juicy J, Usher, and Kim Petras. While the album has made waves with fans and critics, it doesn’t seem like it will have the biggest commercial debut. Newly released figures have the album’s projected first week sales landing somewhere between 6k and 8k, relatively unimpressive numbers.

Despite that, JT is confident that she’s still got a lot more to offer. A fan reacting to one particularly hard-hitting verse from the album tweeted “yall were hungry.” In a quote tweet she said “I’m still hungry!” implying that there could be even more in the tank from her. That’s in line with something she said in a recent interview about how she wanted to try out some solo music. In fact, she could have an entire solo album on the way at some point following the debut solo single she released earlier this year.

JT Is Still Hungry For More

The promotional campaign for RAW, which stands for Real A*s Wh*res, is already under way. In tandem with the release of the album, they also dropped a new music video. It’s a fittingly flashy video to accompany the song “Flashy” which features a hook from pop star Kim Petras who broke out last year with the smash hit “Unholy.”

This isn’t the only time that JT has made references to her own work in the past few weeks. Before the release of RAW, she confidently tweeted that City Girls have no bad projects. Fans seem to generally agree as it isn’t hard to find love for four of the duo’s dynamic projects online. City Girls Drop Third LP “Raw” Today

oday City Girls releases RAW, their highly-anticipated third full-length album, out via Quality Control Music/Motown. This marks their third authentic, and straight-talking studio album, their first in three years. Features include Kim Petras, Lil Durk, Muni Long, Juicy J and Usher.

In a teaser video posted to their socials on Saturday (Oct. 14), JT and Yung Miami describe their upcoming album as “serious a–, freestylin’ cypher a–rap” and “scammin’, trickin’ p—y rap.”

On RAW, the Miami-raised City Girls debut their new single for “Flashy” ft Kim Petras, marking the first collaboration between the rap duo and the Grammy-winning pop star. with a video to follow on Friday afternoon, Oct. 20. Directed by Jenzar, life is good for the trio, as Petras sings: “Stylin’, shinin’ / I’m so flawless like my diamonds / I’m flashy / Big bags, price tags / You know all I wear is name brands / I’m flashy.” 

JT and Yung Miami remain the ultimate alter-ego for city girls and city boys worldwide, putting into their lyrics and music exactly what they think (and what others often wish they said), resulting in more than 15 billion cumulative streams – and ushering in a new wave of real female power – since their 2018 mixtape Period.

RAW is the follow-up to 2020’s City On Lock, which spawned Billboard Hot 100 the singles “P—y Talk” (with Doja Cat) and “Jobs,” and became their highest-peaking entry on the Billboard 200 (No. 29). Since their last studio effort, the rap duo has put out several singles, including the Hot 100 hits “Twerkulator” (No. 51) and “Good Love” (No. 70, with Usher), as well as the 2023 releases, “I Need A Thug,” “Piñata,” “Face Down,” and “Act Bad” (with Diddy and Fabolous). In addition, both members put out solo singles. In 2021, Yung Miami made her solo debut with “Rap Freaks” — which peaked at No. 81 on the Hot 100 — and, this year, JT reached No. 25 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 with “No Bars.”

City Girls Revealed The ‘RAW’ Tracklist, And It Features Collabs With Lil Durk, Muni Long, And Kim Petras

We are just hours away from City Girls‘ third studio album, RAW. This new album marks the rap duo’s first album in three years, and like any City Girls project, the tracklist is stacked with hits — both past and future.

City Girls finally revealed the tracklist tonight (October 19) via Instagram, and fans can expect to hear 18 tracks. Ahead of the album, City Girls have already released their Usher collab, “Good Love,” which came out over a year ago. This past summer, they released the singles “Piñata” and “I Need A Thug,” as well as JT’s solo track, “No Bars.”

The rest of the album boasts some pretty promising collabs, including “Static” with Lil Durk and “Emotions” with Muni Long. Earlier this week, the girls teased “Flashy” with Kim Petras as the next single from RAW.

City Girls Don’t Have A Single Bad Project According To JT

The City Girls are in full album mode. The duo of JT and Yung Miami are gearing up to release their new album RAW tonight. It’s their first project since 2020’s City On Lock and has been preceded by a number of singles earlier this year. They’ve also teased some of the new songs set to appear on the project. One of them features a sung hook from one of 2022’s breakout pop stars Kim Petras. The album has had a pretty short promotional period with the official announcement coming just last week and the album cover being revealed earlier this week.

In preparation for the album dropping, JT clarified something for her fans online. “City girls don’t have one bad album! Can’t believe this is our 4th project! don’t forget where a lot of you b*tches got y’all direction from!” she tweeted earlier today. In the comments, fans debate the merit of their claims. Some try to bring up other names like Cardi B or Lil Kim who they think have been more influential. Others give JT and Yung Miami credit and cite specific examples of their work as trendsetters. Recently the City Girls showed up for the BET Hip-Hop Awards where they previewed a song from their new album. That song was their newest single “Face Down.” The track is a raunchy banger that dropped last month before the official announcement of the album. They also performed JT’s debut solo single “No Bars” from earlier this year.

For those craving more JT solo work, they’re in luck. Before the new project was officially announced she said in an interview that some material was on the way. City Girls’ New Album ‘RAW’: Everything To Know Including The Release Date, Tracklist & More

After heavy online discourse and several delays, City Girls’ third studio album, RAW (Real Ass Wh*res) is nearly here. Critics may push back against their subject matter, but their tried-and-true fan base loves it. Given the title of the forthcoming album, there will be another more p*ssy rap for all the detractors to complain about.

During an interview with VIBE, member Yung Miami spoke about their joint goal for the body of work: “We just wanna show that we are authentic, ourselves, and raw. We just wanted to bring that City Girl energy, fun music, and alter ego music for women. Raw, real-ass women, real b*tches. And that’s just what it is. I hope that our fans will be able to see our growth. I hope that they’ll be able to see that we put our blood, sweat, and tears into this album. This album means so much to us. It’s been three years. This is our first real album since JT been home, and it’s a body of work.”

Due to past issues with projects being leaked, City Girls seemingly decided to keep their tracklist a secret until it hits streaming platforms. Once the tracklist is revealed, this section will be updated.

So far, City Girls have released several singles, including “Act Bad” with Diddy featuring Fabolous, “Top Notch” featuring Fivio Foreign, “I Need A Thug,” “Pinata,” and “Face Down,” that provide a taste of what’s to come with the project. However, whether these tracks will appear on RAW is unclear.

Tour

As of today (October 17), City Girls has not announced a formal tour to support the album. They haven’t had a major headlining run throughout their career due to several circumstances, including member JT’s past legal battles, which resulted in a short prison stint. However, the duo has consistently made festival appearances. Last year, they hit the road with Jack Harlow as opening support. With the slated release of RAW, if the group does decide to embark on a tour, this could mark their first major headlining tour.

“Happy 4th Birthday to my life-sized Barbie,” the podcaster captioned her commemorative Instagram post. “I love you so much my little superstar 💗💗💗.” Just as much a beauty queen as her mother, Summer showed off her modelling skills in Caresha’s cute video, sporting clip-on Chanel earrings while posing in a doll box filled with adorable pink outfits and designer bags. On her Story, the “Act Bad” artist happily filmed her daughter lounging in the pool and smiling with her Minnie Mouse balloon.

Yung Miami’s Mini-Me Celebrates Her Birthday in Style

When it was Southside’s turn to share his love for Summer, the producer penned a sweet message. “Happy birthday my beautiful daughter. I love [you] so much, I don’t care what’s going [on] you have the power to brighten my day. I love you Summer, [today] is your day,” the proud father declared.

Being able to spend Summer’s fourth birthday together was probably a huge stress relief for Yung Miami amid the backlash she’s facing from this year’s BET Hip Hop Awards. Miami rap duo City Girls is three years removed from the release of their last album, City On Lock. Since then, they haven’t lost any of their momentum while pursuing other projects, including solo singles and Yung Miami’s show Caresha Please. This month, they’ll build on the foundation they’ve already laid with their third studio album, RAW, which they announced during last night’s BET Hip-Hop Awards.

The album’s title is an acronym, which stands for “Real Ass Wh*res,” and its release date will be next Friday, October 20. They’ve released a steady stream of singles this year, including “Face Down,” “I Need A Thug,” and “Piñata,” and while none has been a runaway hit like “Act Up,” they’ve been enough to drive excitement among the girls’ hardcore day-one fans — which is usually all you need at times like these. Meanwhile, they also delivered a crowd-pleasing performance at the BET Hip-Hop Awards, proving that demand for their services is still just as high as ever.

The BET Hip Hop Awards were broadcast overnight and they featured performances from some of the biggest names in hip hop. DaBaby, Sexyy Redd, Fivio Foreign, and GloRilla all took the stage to play some of their new songs. There were also tributes to Jermain Dupri’s So So Def Recordings and Marley Marl who was receiving the I Am Hip Hop award. There was also a performance from JT and Yung Miami, AKA City Girls.

The pair played two songs. First JT stepped up to play her debut solo single “No Bars.” The track dropped earlier this year and was followed by an announcement in an interview that she was planning on making an entire solo album eventually. After that, the duo played their newest single “Face Down.” The sexually charged banger dropped back in artists and has racked up nearly 3 million Spotify streams since. Now in a new clip, the duo are sharing some details on just how soon fans can expect new material from them. In the video, they announced their album is called R.A.W, which stands for “Real A*s Wh*res.” It also won’t be long before fans get a chance to listen to it.

While the pair didn’t give a specific date that fans can put in their calendar, they did make a big promise. They told fans that the album was coming out this month. That means if it releases on a standard Friday, there are only 3 more chances for them to follow up on that promise. While this upcoming weekend has some notable releases with new albums from Offset and Bad Bunny, the rest of the month is likely fair game for the duo to release their new project. Yung Miami Opens Up About “City On Lock” Album: ” It Just Make Me Depressed”

As a society, sometimes we forget that even the most well-off people are human. It is obvious, but somehow, from time to time, we assume that their lives are all sunshine and rainbows. That is certainly not the case with City Girls rapper and multimedia mogul, Yung Miami. The significant other half of Diddy is seeing some tremendous success in her fairly young career. Several days ago, her man hyped her up by saying she could become the next Oprah Winfrey. That is a high remark, but she definitely has the potential.

From her podcast, Caresha Please, to all of her ventures in fashion, TV, and of course, her music, Miami is one busy woman. In fact, her show won the award for Best Hip-Hop Platform at the 2023 BET Hip-Hop Awards last night (October 10). However, even with all of the accolades and cash flow, people can still be hurting deep down. Yung Miami proved this to be true in a recent video clip she shared to her Instagram.

In it, she is sitting down with her musical partner, JT. Right at the beginning it shows them talking about their 2020 album, City On Lock. While it helped push the duo even further into the mainstream, she was going through some heavy stuff. HipHopDx broke down what Miami said and she let it all come out. “Whenever I think about that [album], it just make me depressed.” The reason why she feels this way is because her ex-boyfriend, Jai Wiggins, father to her now pre-teen son, was murdered. She continues, “I feel like for death, it be a never-ending cycle. Me, personally, I get worse over time… Just to imagine the person not having their father.” We continue to wish Yung Miami and the family of Jai Wiggins well as they continue to recover through this.
