YNW Melly’s 2015 Interrogation Footage Surfaces Online Amid Double-Murder Trial

It’s long been said that there’s no such thing as bad publicity. At this time, that cliché is proving to be somewhat true for YNW Melly. As his double-murder trial finally kicked off earlier this month, the 23-year-old saw a sudden boost in his streaming numbers. Consequently, tracks like “Murder on My Mind” and “Suicidal” have been skyrocketing. This has been exciting for both Melly and fans to witness. Nevertheless, not all the attention coming from his ongoing case has been flattering.

Apart from discovering his music, internet sleuths have also unearthed 2015 interrogation footage that shows the Florida native speaking with police about an unrelated incident. At the time, Melly was still a teenager, which has caused some to question the legalities of the recorded conversation between the rapper and the authorities. The 45-minute video is the first in a series of three, though the final two parts have yet to land on YouTube. It seems the next section will be shared on Tuesday (June 20) when Melly’s trial continues.

YNW Melly’s Underage Interrogation

Shorter clips from the full-length upload have been shared on blogs, many of them accusing YNW of snitching. “Is this the ni**a that sang ‘I gat murder on my mind 💀’?” one user asked in @akademiks’ Instagram comment section. “Ya better treat him the same way ya did Gunna and 6ix9ine 😂😂😂,” another person joked. Elsewhere, it’s been suggested that the video was intentionally leaked to alter the world’s perception of Melly. “The court system play a dirty game,” someone explained. “They specifically put this out to turn the public against him.”

Before the weekend began, YNW Melly’s ex-girlfriend’s mom was one of the final people to take the stand. During her testimony, the woman notably smiled at the accused killer before clarifying that she’s felt threatened by law enforcement throughout the legal process. Read everything she had to say at the link below and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

YNW Melly Appears To Try To Leave Courtroom Mid-Trial In Viral Clip

YNW Melly’s trial for double murder had no shortage of noteworthy moments in its first week. Given the easy accessibility of the trial proceedings via livestream and its rapid spread online, many fans reacted in varying degrees to its antics. Some laughed at his attorney’s notebook, others recoiled at him blowing kisses in court, and so on. However, on the fourth and latest session of the trial so far, which took place on Thursday (June 15), one particular moment has fans scratching their heads. In it, the rapper appears to attempt to “escape,” as many have put it, or simply make his way close to an exit of the courtroom.

Of course, this is a prime example of fans reading too deeply into a clip from the court proceedings. What actually happens is that YNW Melly leaves his place and walks around aimlessly, close to one a door that reads “Restricted Area.” Then, a group of security guards halt him before he gets too far and then redirect him to his spot at the table. Still, it made for a pretty comical moment thanks to fan reactions to the video, though other aspects of the trial are no laughing matter.

YNW Melly’s “Attempted Escape,” So Fans Say

For example, the families of the victims in the case, YNW Juvy and YNW SakChaser, believed some of YNW Melly’s actions in court to be disrespectful. “He [blew a kiss in the courtroom] a couple of times… that wasn’t his first time,” Leandra Phillips, Juvy’s mother, told NBC 6. “I walked out. What you praying for? You sitting there like you ain’t got no remorse. Like, every time I walk in, you smiling. This ain’t the same for that. This is sad, this case is serious.”

Meanwhile, next week holds some very crucial discussions for this situation, as the 24-year-old’s lead attorney requested a mistrial. It seems like this is based on evidence the state presented that the defense finds to be prejudicial, or rather irrelevant to the facts of the case and instead merely causing negative bias against the defendant. While many believe this to be a surefire sign of the MC’s freedom, it’s not that easy and, even if approved, could still result in a new trial. For the latest updates and news on YNW Melly, check back in with HNHH.

Boosie Badazz Wants To Get Into Law After YNW Melly Trial

Boosie Badazz has developed an unexpected interest recently. It seems he now wants to pursue a career in law. This comes after he attended the murder trial of YNW Melly. In an Instagram post following the second day of the trial, Boosie shared his newfound knowledge from the courtroom. He also expressed his aspirations in the legal field. “THIS SHIT IS EDUCATION NO [cap] WATCHING THE DEFENSE N PROSECUTION DROP BARS,” the rapper wrote. However, Boosie’s presence at the trial did not receive a warm welcome from everyone. The father of one of the alleged victims criticized Boosie for supporting Melly. He also expressed his disapproval in a video, calling out those who advocate for Melly’s release.

The double murder trial of YNW Melly began on Monday. The case relates to the deaths of YNW Juvy and YNW Sackchaser in 2018. Melly was arrested in 2019 and charged with two counts of premeditated murder. If convicted, he could face life imprisonment without parole. He could even face the death penalty. Recently, the State of Florida announced that it intends to seek the death penalty if Melly is found guilty. In a separate incident, Boosie Badazz is facing legal issues of his own.

Federal agents took Boosie Badazz into custody yesterday after his appearance in court. He was present for a recent gun case. Luckily for him, that particular case was dismissed. Sadly, it was not the end of his worries. Federal agents arrested Boosie outside the courtroom. However, the specific reasons for his arrest are not clear at this time. Last month, Boosie pleaded not guilty to the charges he was facing. They stemmed from a traffic stop in San Diego.

During the hearing, Boosie faced several gun-related charges. These included possession of a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle, possessing ammunition as a prohibited person, and being an unregistered owner of a firearm. If convicted, Boosie could have been sentenced to a maximum of three years in prison. After his initial arrest, he was released on bond. However, it appears that Boosie now faces new undisclosed charges following his recent arrest. It is still not clear what those charges are. What are your thoughts? Sound off in the comments to let us know. Stay tuned to HNHH for the latest updates.

YNW Melly’s Ex-GF’s Mom Takes The Stand, Admits To Feeling Threatened By Law Enforcement

The updates from YNW Melly’s double murder trial have been coming out fast and furious since things began in Broward County on Monday (June 12). Aside from the interesting testimony, viral moments have included Boosie Badazz’s presence in the courtroom (though he was arrested on unknown federal charges on Wednesday), as well as Melly’s attorney’s questionable notebook. The accused killer himself got the internet talking after he appeared to both cry and pray. Elsewhere, a family member of one of the victims actually walked out when the “Murder On My Mind” artist blew a kiss.

On Thursday (June 15), the prosecution called Melly’s ex-girlfriend’s mother to the stand. During her testimony, the woman made it abundantly clear that she wasn’t feeling entirely comfortable speaking about the incident, but doesn’t want to lie on the stand and go to jail as a result. “I’m saying what you want me to say,” the witness stated earlier this afternoon. “I do remember that they bullied me and threatened my daughter,” she specifically noted of the law enforcement they dealt with after the murders of YNW Juvy and YNW SakChaser.

YNW Melly’s Double Murder Trial Continues

When asked how she was feeling on the stand, Melly’s ex’s mother replied, “Not good… I feel threatened.” Upon spotting the Florida-born rapper in the courtroom she smiled at him, according to Twitter reports from correspondent Cathy Russon. “To be clear… She doesn’t want to be there testifying for the State,” the journalist added in another post while covering today’s proceedings.

Elsewhere in the news, celebrity attorney Bradford Cohen (who was previously representing YNW Melly in the ongoing murder trial) shared his thoughts on the case so far. At this time, he believes the defense is doing a great job on the 23-year-old’s behalf, and we may even see him beat the charges. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

YNW Melly’s Lead Attorney Motions For Mistrial

On the fourth day of YNW Melly’s double murder trial, his case took an interesting and possibly foreboding turn. Moreover, correspondent Bryson “Boom” Paul reported via Twitter that the rapper’s lead attorney, David A. Howard, requested a mistrial in the case. It’s unclear, at least based on Paul’s initial report, what the motive behind the motion was. Other reports suggest that the mistrial was suggested by the defense after the state brought in evidence that caused too much prejudice in the trial. For those unaware, this refers to evidence that does not further the facts of the case, but rather creates a bias in favor of or in this case against the defendant.

In any case, it seems like the involvement of family members, ex-girlfriends, leaked DMs, and more have cause the jury to become too tainted in the defense’s eyes. Furthermore, Paul reported that Judge Murphy III took the motion for a mistrial under advisement. The court will discuss on Tuesday, June 20 once trial resumes. Until that day comes, this is the last we will hear of YNW Melly’s case in the courtroom.

YNW Melly Defense Requests Mistrial

Regardless, debate erupted online as to whether this motion actually means that the Gifford native will walk. Many on Twitter pointed out that it is up to the judge to determine whether a mistrial is in order. As such, celebrations of the request from the “Mixed Personalities” MC’s supporters are moot until it’s approved. Others claimed that if the court deems a case a mistrial on prejudice, then the defendant cannot be tried again. However, this seems to be mostly speculative and largely unconfirmed by the courts, reporters, or other trusted sources. In most cases, an approved mistrial still allows the defendant to be tried again.

In addition, the court’s decision will paint what this mistrial represents: an effort to preserve justice or to dismiss relevant evidence. While it for now seems to fall under the former category, no one can truly know for sure. This is also another potential victory after the court sided with the 24-year-old by not allowing other evidence to be presented based on prejudice. YNW Melly Achieves Small Victories In Trial Over Use Of Evidence

The double murder trial of YNW Melly is looking bleak online for those who want to see the rapper walk away. Moreover, this is because social media clips of his behavior, including blowing kisses and his lawyer’s suggestive notebook, have people thinking that it looks ridiculous. However, none of those aspects actually translate into the court of law, and on the fourth day of his trial on Thursday (June 15), he and his team actually heard some good news. Furthermore, these reports come from Law & Crime Network correspondent Bryson “Boom” Paul, who has been consistently covering this trial with frequent updates via his social media accounts.

“Judge John Murphy III denies the Prosecutor’s use of @Snapchat memories in the next witness testimony due to the presence of a firearm and cash in one of the videos,” the reporter tweeted. “‘Prejudicial,’ he says.” For those unaware, “prejudicial” means that it would be evidence that would cause an inherent bias against the defendant without actually being evidence that contributes to the matters of fact in the case. Another update held similar weight and described the reaction of the family of YNW Juvy, the deceased associate of YNW Melly who he stands accused of murdering. The state also accused him of murdering YNW SakChaser in this trial for double murder. “Juvy’s grandmother says “Damn” as Judge Murphy lll says the music video “Murder on My Mind” will not be used based on prejudice,” Paul relayed via Twitter.

Positive Updates For YNW Melly’s Side Of Murder Trial

Meanwhile, Juvy’s mother recalled how she walked out of the courtroom when the 24-year-old accused murderer blew kisses during session. “He did it a couple of times.. that wasn’t his first time,” Leondra Phillips said, calling his displays “disrespectful. I walked out. What you praying for? You sitting there like you ain’t got no remorse. Like, every time I walk in, you smiling. This ain’t the same for that. This is sad, this case is serious.”

Others have instead stood by the Gifford native’s innocence, with Boosie Badazz showing up in person during proceedings. Another famous rap figure, Lil Durk, declared “Free Melly” via his Instagram page. It remains a murky case, but one that, at least for today, brightened for the rapper and his team. [WATCH] YNW Melly Under Fire For Blowing Kiss In Courtroom During Double Murder Trial

Screen Shot 2023 06 15 at 10.06.18 AM

YNW Melly is currently one of Hip Hop’s most watched trials, as the double murder trial is being livestreamed from the courtroom, with the antics from the defendant and his attorneys receiving the most attention. On day one, the lawyer for YNW Melly was shown trying to mask her conversation with her client with a “evil plans and stuff notebook”. Now, Melly himself is being scrutinized for praying before blowing a kiss during court proceedings.

Around the 40 second mark of the above news clip, Melly, whose given name is Jamell Demons, can be seen in what appears to be meditative prayer with his hands clasped before blowing a kiss and extending his arms out.

Critics are questioning the actions of the 24-year-old in the courtroom with one of the victims’ mothers even stating that he shouldn’t be praying.

“I walked out because…what are you praying for?,” said the victims’ mother. “You sitting over there like you got no remorse. Every time I walk in the courtroom, you’re smiling. This ain’t the time for that. This case is sad. This is serious.”

YNW Melly Has A Chance To Win His Case, Kodak Black’s Lawyer Says

All eyes are on YNW Melly’s trial for double murder, which could be the first in the state of Florida in years to result in a death penalty thanks to new state law. Moreover, streams and footage of the trial flooded social media this week as the trial began on Monday (June 12). Amid all the commotion, many wonder what the outcome of the trial will be, especially given the Gifford rapper’s antics throughout. However, this also came with legal advice thrown into the ring from Bradford Cohen, attorney for Kodak Black who offered his insight into the case. From what Cohen stated, this will be a tough case, which is in contrast to what many assumed when watching footage.

“Day 2 is coming up on the YNW Melly case,” the lawyer wrote on Instagram earlier in the week. “The first few days of trial are not that interesting in regards to a story or the real meat of the case… This case is going to be very technical with phones and date etc. But again, they can’t say someone else didn’t get in the car or someone else did the shooting. I think the case has built in reasonable doubt, and I saw a lot of the discovery while I was on the case. Like I said, this will be a tough case for the prosecution.”

Kodak Black’s Lawyer Speaks On YNW Melly Case

Now we’re at day four, and Bradford Cohen continuously commented on the trial’s development on his social media if anyone is interested. Still, he’s one of many voices chiming in, so there is no shortage of that. For those unaware, Cohen currently represents Kodak Black on drug-related charges. Surely his insights could evolve and shift as the trial goes on, but it’s important to consider that no one but those in the courtroom will really know the nature of this case.

Regardless, as the attorney stated, the “223’s” MC has a long path ahead of him when it comes to his murder case. It’s unclear how long the trial will last, but its opening days have a lot of footage without a lot of case development itself. As such, those interested in its outcome will have to be patient and understand that it could take a long time for the public to understand what allegedly went down.
