IDK Has Another ‘Win’ On His Hands With His New Song From The ‘Swagger’ Soundtrack

After dropping his album F65 last month, IDK is already back with new music. Tonight (June 16), he has shared “Win” from the season 2 soundtrack to Apple TV+‘s Swagger.

On the song, IDK embraces the wins in his life, and maintains a positive outlook as he moves forward.

“Life looking right, everything to win / I splash with the ice, everything to win / Just hit number one, I guess I’m single then / Everything a win, everything a win / My life is a win, my life is a win,” he raps on the song’s chorus.

The instrumental track consists of a breezy, percussive, jazz-influenced beat, creating an element of happiness as IDK leaves behind negativity.

In recent months, IDK has been keeping busy. He recently collaborated with Nike, launching a limited-edition Nike Air Max Pro 97 “Free Coast” F&F sneaker. He has also been preparing for his upcoming 65 Tour, which is set to kick off in Paris this month.

In the fall, IDK will bring back No Label Academy, his tuition-free music business program at Harvard University designed to help BIPOC students jumpstart their careers within the music industry.

All of these things certainly sound like wins.

You can listen to “Win” above.

Season 2 of Swagger begins streaming 6/23 on Apple TV+

IDK is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

YNW Melly Has A Chance To Win His Case, Kodak Black’s Lawyer Says

All eyes are on YNW Melly’s trial for double murder, which could be the first in the state of Florida in years to result in a death penalty thanks to new state law. Moreover, streams and footage of the trial flooded social media this week as the trial began on Monday (June 12). Amid all the commotion, many wonder what the outcome of the trial will be, especially given the Gifford rapper’s antics throughout. However, this also came with legal advice thrown into the ring from Bradford Cohen, attorney for Kodak Black who offered his insight into the case. From what Cohen stated, this will be a tough case, which is in contrast to what many assumed when watching footage.

“Day 2 is coming up on the YNW Melly case,” the lawyer wrote on Instagram earlier in the week. “The first few days of trial are not that interesting in regards to a story or the real meat of the case… This case is going to be very technical with phones and date etc. But again, they can’t say someone else didn’t get in the car or someone else did the shooting. I think the case has built in reasonable doubt, and I saw a lot of the discovery while I was on the case. Like I said, this will be a tough case for the prosecution.”

Kodak Black’s Lawyer Speaks On YNW Melly Case

Now we’re at day four, and Bradford Cohen continuously commented on the trial’s development on his social media if anyone is interested. Still, he’s one of many voices chiming in, so there is no shortage of that. For those unaware, Cohen currently represents Kodak Black on drug-related charges. Surely his insights could evolve and shift as the trial goes on, but it’s important to consider that no one but those in the courtroom will really know the nature of this case.

Regardless, as the attorney stated, the “223’s” MC has a long path ahead of him when it comes to his murder case. It’s unclear how long the trial will last, but its opening days have a lot of footage without a lot of case development itself. As such, those interested in its outcome will have to be patient and understand that it could take a long time for the public to understand what allegedly went down. For the latest updates and more news on YNW Melly’s trial, stick around on HNHH.

Boosie Badazz & Nelly Are Frustrated With Devin Haney’s Victory

When Devin Haney beat Vasiliy Lomachenko on Saturday (May 20) in their highly anticipated boxing match, it came with a crutch for some. Moreover, after an intense and contested 12 rounds, judges ultimately sided with Haney for the victory. While this came as a shock and travesty to many fans, its impact was such that even some hip-hop notables had to speak out with their take. Two of the most vocal voices in that arena were Boosie Badazz and Nelly, who thought that Loma deserved the crown. However, in Boosie’s case, he even looked past his own benefits from the match-up, as he won money by betting on the San Francisco boxer’s win.

“I F**K WITH HANEY BUT I JUST WATCH CHAMP LOSE EVERY ROUND OF THAT FIGHT NO BOXING RIGGED TIMES HAVE CHANGED THIS S**T BOUT MONEY,” he wrote on Twitter. “I won money on Haney but Money can’t make me Lie.” On the other hand, Nelly had a much less conciliatory set of words aimed at the decision, not at either athlete in particular. In an Instagram video, the Austin-born artist said that boxing just wasn’t for him anymore.

“I’m just letting y’all know I am done with boxing,” Nelly shared. “They will never get another motherf***in’ dime out of me. This is a travesty. I am done with boxing. Devin Haney is a very talented boxer. I have nothing against that man, much respect. He was not the better man today. At most, that man got a draw. At most. That man got robbed.” Furthermore, these sentiments echo a lot of discourse online, even though some don’t think it was a complete robbery. Still, the conversation remains hotly contested on either side.

Nelly Speaks On Devin Haney’s Controversial Win

Meanwhile, Boosie might just give boxing a try- that is, if he ever decides to treat Charleston White to a showdown. White expressed a desire to get Anthony Dewberry to fight him and Bandman Kevo for $100K following their beef. While it doesn’t seem to have manifested into anything, it makes any of the Baton Rouge MC’s commentary on the ring a little ironic. Maybe one day we’ll see if he takes up the challenge. French Montana Lands Partial Victory In Lawsuit Over “Ain’t Worried About Nothin’”

French Montana has secured a partial victory in the lawsuit regarding his 2013 hit, “Ain’t Worried About Nothin’.” Judge Nancy L. Maldonado of the Northern District of Illinois granted the rapper a summary motion to three of his five issues against producer Eddie Lee Richardson in a ruling, late last week. Richardson sued Montana for allegedly copying his copyrighted instrumental song, “Hood Pushin’ Weight.”

Despite the victory in those areas, Maldonado also denied Montana’s claim that “any infringement was innocent or not willful.” The judge stated that Richardson’s claim for damages is still applicable in the 378 live performances of the song since April 2016. Unfortunately for Richardson, Montana claims that he made no money off of the live performances of the song in question.

Maldonado explained that the issue is whether a copyright holder “has an exclusive right to public performance of his copyright depends on whether his work is registered as a ‘sound recording’ or a ‘musical composition.’ While [the] plaintiff can pursue a claim based on distribution of his work under either type of registration, if plaintiff only has a ‘sound recording’ copyright, then he can only maintain a copyright infringement action for performances of his work by ‘digital audio transmission.’”

Tyiase Hasan, who represents Richardson, wasn’t entirely happy with the result. He explained that Richardson had already conceded the three points in the lawsuit. “The infringement here is as plain as day,” he told Law360. Dariush Adli of Adli Law Group PC, who represents Montana, recently told Law360: “We believe the jury will likely not find the infringement to have been willful because the undisputed evidence shows that plaintiff reached out to French only once, in 2013, about potential [infringement] and that French referred him to the music producer, Rico Love.” He added, “However, plaintiff did not sue Rico Love because the 3 years statute of limitations had run on that claim.”

Angela Bassett Trends On Twitter As Users Anticipate Oscars Win

Angela Bassett became a Twitter trend as users anticipate her Oscars win for her role in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Moreover, many fans online really want her to win the Best Supporting Actress award, especially after she won the Golden Globe. In fact, it’s quite the stacked year with a lot of stellar performances and great films to watch. Furthermore, the other nominees in this category are Kerry Condon, Jamie Lee Curtis, Stephanie Tsu, and Hong Chau. Overall, Bassett was already nominated for an Oscar before, but this might just be the year.

In other awards show news, Bassett recently accepted the award for Entertainer of the Year at the NAACP Image Awards. During her acceptance speech, she referenced a highly criticized performance from Ariana DeBose during the BAFTA Awards where she rapped about the female nominees. “I guess Angela Bassett did the thing,” she joked referencing DeBose’s bit. Earlier that night, she said she actually DM’d DeBose to check in on her after people clowned her. Queen Ramonda is as gracious and kind off-screen as she is on.

“I DM’d her last night,” she told Variety on the red carpet. “I did. It was beautiful. I just wanted to make sure she was OK because, you know, it’s a lot of attention. And she is A-OK.” She continued her thoughts during an Extra red carpet interview at the SAG Awards. “I saw her that night, and I gave her a big hug,” the 64-year-old revealed. “She, my daughter, and I have pictures together. So, we were really thrilled. And then, when I saw [the performance] come out and really take flight, I DM’d her. I said, ‘I hope you’re not at all bothered by the attention we’re generating, my dear, because you’re fierce, and I adore you.’”

“We love how everyone is having fun with it now!” she added. “Just having fun.” Now, it seems like all those people that went crazy over DeBose’s display seem to be concentrating their viral energies into manifesting an Academy Award for the acclaimed actress. Regardless, come back to HNHH for the latest news and updates from the Oscars and Angela Bassett.

Drake & Tom Brady Show Huge Support To Jon Jones Before UFC Win

Tom Brady and Drake just showed their support to Jon Jones ahead of his UFC 285 victory on Saturday (March 4) in differing ways. On one end, the 6 God made two massive bets on Jones, one to win by knockout and another to win by submission. As Jones won by the latter, the Canadian artist nabbed an estimated $1,700,000 in his total payout. Moreover, he shared the bets on Instagram ahead of his showdown against Ciryl Gane to claim the heavyweight title. Overall, it seems like the good luck paid off, with even Conor McGregor calling it a “nice bet.”

On the other hand, the NFL star proclaimed Jones was the best to ever do it in a video ahead of the match. “Hey Jon, I wanted to say welcome back to the main stage,” he expressed in a video shared by UFC. “It’s great to see the GOAT doing what he does best and doing what he’s meant to do. I thought seven titles was a lot, you doubled it man. I know tonight’s not gonna be easy with Ciryl Gane standing on the other side of that octagon, he’s a bad man. It’s gonna be an incredible fight.”

Drake Makes Big Bets

Furthermore, Jones made a stellar return to the octagon after three years off. Many consider him one of the greatest in mixed martial arts, and this face-off marks the fulfillment of a long process of seeking transition into the heavyweight class. Moreover, his last stoppage victory came against Alexander Gustafsson back in 2018 in a fourth-round knockout. Against Gane, he landed an early attack and performed a guillotine choke that made him submit.

Meanwhile, Drake’s bets could’ve actually resulted in some bad luck, instead. While the rapper’s a big better, he faced a lot of criticism for backing losers and giving the “Drake Curse,” most recently with Jake Paul. Drizzy bet on Paul to knock out Tommy Fury, which ultimately didn’t pan out. Still, at least he placed his winning bets on one of the MMA’s icons and not one of the more controversial recent figures in contact sports. Regardless, check out Brady’s message below and return to HNHH for the latest on Drake, Jon Jones, and Tom Brady.

Drake Won His Super Bowl Bet On The Chiefs, But Lost In The Details

Drake won his bet on the Kansas City Chiefs winning Super Bowl LVII against the Philadelphia Eagles. In fact, it was a massive win, as his total payout estimated at $1.47 million. “My psychotic bets for Sunday are in @stake,” he wrote in an Instagram post displaying his predictions. “Pls do not analyze the logic behind these bets there is none.” Moreover, he made some specific bets on certain details of the game, all of which didn’t pan out perfectly. However, it’s still a big cash day for the 6 God, and a monumental night for Kansas City.

Firstly, Drizzy’s million-dollar payout for the Chiefs victory meant that, overall, he’s a winner first and foremost. Still, looking at his other predictions, curious fans can tally up just how much he earned. For example, he bet $50,000 on Patrick Mahomes being KC’s first touchdown scorer. However, that went to tight end Travis Kelce, so that’s one win, one loss. What’s more is that he also bet (and lost) that JuJu Smith-Schuster would be the Chiefs’ first touchdown scorer, albeit with different odds. Also, unfortunately for the Canadian star’s guess, the Kansas City team did not win both halves, as the Eagles led 24 to 14 at halftime. As such, he lost his bet on his winning team beating Philly in each quarter.

Furthermore, Drake had two final bets: Travis Kelce earning the NFL MVP trophy and a tight end winning the accolade. To his dismay (a very slight one with $1.47 million in his pocket), KC quarterback Patrick Mahomes won the title. All in all, the “Privileged Rappers” MC won the big bet, but lost in the details. Considering his individual stakes for each bet, he lost an approximate $265,000. Of course, when you look at the bigger picture, that means the OVO kingpin won about $1.2 million instead of $1.4. Poor guy, am I right?

Meanwhile, Drake recently appeared in a funny Barstool Sports interview with his son Adonis. While they ironically didn’t talk sports, the cheeky video saw them talk about their father-son dynamic in a comical way. Maybe Adonis will grow up to be a big better (and occasional winner) like his dad. Regardless of how much you won or lost your bet on the Chiefs tonight, come back to HNHH for the latest on Drake and the sports world.
