YG Teams Up with Kaliii and Stunna Girl for Energetic New Single “SHAKE”

YG Teams Up with Kaliii and Stunna Girl for Energetic New Single "SHAKE"

YG has collaborated with rising stars Kaliii and Stunna Girl to release a vibrant new single, “SHAKE,” accompanied by an eye-catching music video.

The track aims to dominate summer airwaves with its infectious energy and dynamic composition, blending YG’s signature sound with a lively orchestral melody. The song expertly integrates different beats and rhythms, keeping it fresh while circling back to the original groove. Kaliii and Stunna Girl’s distinct vocals add a catchy chorus, “Shake shake shake it fast,” which perfectly complements YG’s gritty flow.

The music video for “SHAKE” brings the lyrics to life on the beach, capturing the chill yet vibrant energy of the track against a moody coastal backdrop. Featuring dynamic scenes of YG riding a jet ski, relaxing on a boat, and vibing on the beach, the video showcases captivating visuals of girls dancing in sync with the rhythm, enhancing the carefree atmosphere. The combination of striking coastal shots and energetic dance sequences creates a visually engaging experience that matches the laid-back yet lively mood of the song.

Recently, YG dropped the new single “Weird,” accompanied by a striking music video. This powerful anthem combines YG’s signature heavy bass lines with an electrifying beat as he addresses those he views as disruptive and dysfunctional. This single follows the announcement of his upcoming “JUST RE’D UP” tour, set to kick off on June 28th in his hometown of Los Angeles, CA, and conclude on August 17th in Hawaii. The tour will feature special guests rapper Doe Boy and DJ Vision. This tour follows the release of YG’s first single of 2024, the upbeat record “Knocka,” under his new multi-album global recordings partnership with BMG, signed through his 4Hunnid label, setting the stage for his highly anticipated seventh solo studio album.

YG’s NSFW ‘Shake’ Video With Kaliii And Stunna Girl Is A Beach-Bound Booty Buffet

YG knows how to play the hits. With his new project Just Re’d Up 3 on the way, the Compton rapper has been getting back to basics with singles custom-made to turn up the function. First, there was “Knocka,” which hearkened back to the party-ready anthems of his debut album, My Krazy Life. Then, there was “Weird,” which some fans interpreted as a Drake diss (it wasn’t). Today, YG delivers the third single, “Shake,” which features Kaliii and Stunna Girl, along with a beach-bound, borderline-NSFW music video.

The song and its video both feel like callbacks to YG’s 2017 single “Pop It, Shake It” (the original version) from the uptempo beat and instructive chorus to the raunchy, booty-filled visuals — which, to be fair, are significantly tamer than the older video’s. Still, try not to watch “Shake” at your desk if you work in an office, or face some potentially awkward conversations. Also, sorry, but Kaliii and Stunna Girl don’t actually appear in the video, although based on some of their own output, they would fit right in. They also spit some very aggressive, but technically impressive verses.

You can watch YG’s “Shake” video above.

Just Re’d Up 3 is due in July via 4 Hunnid.

Did YG Diss Drake In Support Of Kendrick Lamar On His New Song ‘Weird?’

At this point, the beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar has died down significantly: The last time either rapper dropped a new diss track was early May, with Lamar’s No. 1 single “Not Like Us” and Drake’s poorly received “The Heart Part 6.”

But, folks aren’t done picking sides and fortifying their positions. Such appears to be the case with YG on his new song “Weird.”

Did YG Diss Drake In Support Of Kendrick Lamar On His New Song “Weird?”

At one point on the new song, YG raps, “When it’s smoke, don’t ever mention my name (Mention my name) / You gon’ have me jeopardizin’ my fame / Jeopardizin’ the gang, jeopardizin’ where you hang, n****.” Some have perceived this as a response to a line in Drake’s Lamar diss track “Family Matters”: “You know who really bang a set? My n**** YG.”

Notably, Lamar’s “Not Like Us” contains a sample of YG’s 2011 song “I’m Good.” Since YG would have had to clear that sample for Lamar to use it, that would be seen as YG choosing his side in the beef.

Meanwhile, Apple Music recently unveiled its much-discussed list of the 100 best albums of all time, and Lamar made the top 10 with Good Kid, m.A.A.d City.

YG Claims There’s A Lot Of “Weird” Rappers On “Just Re’d Up 3” Single

YG has had some fans excited over the last few months with a new project that is coming soon. That would happen to be Just Re’d Up 3, the third entry in the series. The Compton, California veteran is continuing the saga of projects 11 years after the second one released in 2013. Its origins trace back to 2011, though. However, for number three, YG is not labeling it as a mixtape, rather a studio album. YG formally announced the record across his social media platforms a few days ago, revealing the cover in progress and estimated drop date. Now, YG is back with its third single “Weird.”

This track follows up on the late April release “KNOCKA,” as well as the 2022 lead single “Miss My Dawgs” with Lil Wayne. YG has been straying away from the G-funk and West Coast hip-hop sounds and opting for more straight-line trap cuts. “KNOCKA” had some elements of his OG style, though, especially with the sample flip. But “Weird” focuses on his older sound, and its sounds like something that would have landed on My Krazy Life.

Listen To “Weird” By YG

On this track, YG is claiming that a lot of people, including unnamed rappers are oddballs. He paints himself as the man on top, especially with bars like these. “Point the .40 at a n**** ’til it click, click, click, click (Click, click) / N****s weird, pillow-talkin’ to h*es / You don’t support the bros, you ain’t livin’ by the code (By the code).” Check out the hyper aggressive cut with the link above.

What are your thoughts on “Weird” by YG? Is this one of his better tracks as of late, why or why not? Does this get you excited for his upcoming project Just Re’d Up 3? Is this the strongest single from the project? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Quotable Lyrics:

Huh, what? N****s’ b****es
Disrespect us, f***, I’m crossin’ limits
No motion, when y’all pop out, it’s crickets
Comin’ up short in life, you n****s midget (N****s midget)
I don’t wanna hear it, not even a snippet
You ain’t Piru, stop talkin’ Piru business

YG Seemingly Responds To Drake’s “Family Matters” On New Single

YG was not involved in the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle. He was actually one of the few West Coast artists who didn’t step in with an opinion. The problem, he was directly referenced by name on the Drake diss “Family Matters.” The 6 God used the Compton rapper to discredit Lamar by claiming YG banged a set but Lamar didn’t. It was a relatively unimportant line, and one that saw YG get lumped in with other artists. No big deal, right? Well, it seems like the Compton rapper felt a way about it.

YG dropped a new single titled “Weird,” and in it he seemingly makes reference to the fact that he was, well, referenced. The lines he drops suggest that he didn’t care for Drake involving him in a battle that he had nothing to do with. Especially when it was battle with another West Coast artist. “When it’s smoke, don’t ever mention my name (mention my name),” he raps on the track. “You gon’ have me jeopardizin’ my fame, jeopardizin’ the gang, jeopardizin’ where you hang, n**ga.” The rapper doesn’t mention anybody by name, but it doesn’t take a lot of sleuthing to put the pieces together.

YG Calls Out Drake For Referencing Him In A Diss

YG and Drake have had a long collaborative history together. Drake appeared on the single “Who Do You Love?” from his 2014 debut, My Krazy Life. The single peaked at 54 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the second-biggest release from the album. YG and Drake teamed back up for “Why You Always Hatin?” in 2016, which peaked at number 62. YG also served as the opening act for the Drake vs. Lil Wayne tour, which took place the same year. As friendly as the two rappers have been over the years, YG’s bond with Kendrick Lamar supersedes it.

Both rappers hail from Compton, and rap about similar subject matter. YG praised Lamar as a rapper and as a collaborator during an MTV interview from over a decade ago. “It’s A-1 to be able to get somebody like that on my record,” he told the outlet. “I knew Kendrick before I blew up, he knew me before he blew up and be rocking with what I was doin’ and I been rocking with what they was doin’ so it’s all love and respect.” It’s also worth noting that Mustard, YG’s longtime friend and collaborator, produced K. Dot’s Drake diss and number one single, “Not Like Us.” The rapper was also going to side with the West.

YG has returned with his first solo track of the year, “Knocka,” accompanied by a vibrant music video. Under his new BMG deal, the lyrical titan showcases his consistency and energy, solidifying his status in the rap scene.

“Knocka” kicks off with a blend of classic and contemporary sounds, featuring a soulful background vocal leading into YG’s commanding proclamation, “this sh*t is a Knocka,” a hook that resonates throughout the song. With his distinctive West Coast style, YG effortlessly blends elements of his LA roots with a modern twist, which is evident in the track and its accompanying visuals.

The music video captures YG’s arrival in Compton, donning a matching red outfit and vibing to the music alongside locals. Dynamic scenes showcase YG surrounded by dancing women, confidently wielding a flamethrower and tossing money into the air, creating a celebratory atmosphere that mirrors the song’s energy.

Recently, YG signed a multi-album global recordings partnership with BMG under his 4Hunnid Records label, setting the stage for his highly anticipated seventh solo studio album. Beyond music, YG ventures into entrepreneurship with the launch of the 4HUNNID Podcast and makes waves in the wellness sector with his Cherry Bomb supplement for men. “Knocka” marks another milestone in YG’s illustrious career, signaling his continued impact and influence in the industry.

YG Announces “Just Re’d Up 3” & All The Important Details

Compton, California rapper YG has kept fairly quiet in terms of his solo material over the last two years or so. However, him and fellow West coaster Tyga did come through with their collaborative “playlist,” Hit Me When U Leave The Klub. It featured a solid hit in “Brand New” thanks to the incredible Lil Wayne verse. But back to the My Krazy Life MC; the last time that he dropped a new solo single was back in early December of 2022 with “Miss My Dawgs” featuring Weezy. He would end the drought late last month with “KNOCKA,” which apparently is the second promo track for the upcoming YG tape Just Re’d Up 3.

The April 26 release was certainly “a knocker a bopper a knocker like choppers” in our eyes. Unfortunately, Bricc Baby did not share the same opinion. He called out YG, essentially telling him to step up his game, as he feels that the young bucks are dropping better material. Well, good thing the G-funk hitmaker announced Just Re’d Up 3. This is a great chance to shut up Bricc Baby, and any other possible hater out there.

YG Continues The Re’d Up Series Over 10 Years Later

YG fans will know that he started this mixtape series back in 2011 and put out the sequel in 2013. Now, just over a decade later, the 34-year-old, is completing the trilogy. According to HipHopNMore, he revealed the release date (July 3), as well as the possibly unfinished album cover on X. That is the big surprise here; apparently this will be classified as a studio album, not a mixtape like the previous entries.

What are your thoughts on YG announcing Just Re’d Up 3 as an album instead of a mixtape? Do you think this the best entry in the series, why or why not? Could this be his best release as of late? Who do you want to see on the project and why? Is “KNOCKA” still in your rotation? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding YG. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

YG Announced His New Album, ‘Just Re’d Up 3’ With A Preview Of Its Cover Art

YG

After kicking off the rollout for his new project with the assertive single, “Knocka,” earlier this month, YG has announced the project’s release date. It’s called Just Re’d Up 3 and it’s due in July. YG shared a preview of its cover art, which will apparently follow the theme of its predecessors. For now, it’s just a white field, but on the previous iterations of the cover art, the Compton rapper has posed with cash (the first), and a brand-new car (the second). What’ll his latest acquisition be?

The original Just Re’d Up mixtape was released on May 2, 2011, by Pushaz Ink; it was YG’s third mixtape and featured one of his early viral hits, “B*tches Ain’t Sh*t.” Two years later, YG followed up with Just Re’d Up 2, which featured appearances from fellow West Coast underground artists like Dom Kennedy, Nipsey Hussle, RJmrLA, TeeFlii, and Ty Dolla $ign, in addition to national stars like Jeezy, Juicy J, and Wiz Khalifa.

Just Re’d Up 3 will be either YG’s seventh studio album or tenth mixtape, depending on how he chooses to market the new project, and his first solo project since 2022’s I Got Issues, which held his hit single, “Scared Money” featuring J. Cole and Moneybagg Yo. Stay tuned for its official release date.

YG Called Out For Creeping On Teyana Taylor Despite Being With Saweetie

YG and Saweetie may have fended off breakup rumors, but it might take a little bit longer for the former to evade the thirst trap police. Moreover, he recently commented on a clip of Teyana Taylor posing sultrily with lingerie, and while the comment wasn’t overtly flirty, the “after hours” context of the video doesn’t leave too much room for interpretation. “4am in Cannes,” she captioned the video, whereas the West Coast MC had the following message for her in the comments section: “Go to sleep gang.” We wonder whether his boo thinks there’s something deeper here or if she knows that he doesn’t mean anything by it.

However, this also comes amid new reflections and phases for Teyana Taylor’s previous romance, that of her ex husband Iman Shumpert. He commented on her Met Gala fit earlier this month, and some fans thought that this was a sign that things were looking better for the two. Still, if you were around when they announced their months-long separation last year, you know that they made their amicable status pretty clear. There were some bumps along that road for sure, but there’s not much reason to assume that they aren’t on good terms right now.

YG’s Comment On Teyana Taylor’s Thirst Trap

As for YG and Saweetie, they are still going strong in their relationship and in their careers, even if some folks have differing opinions on the quality of their musical offerings. We’ll see what’s in store for the couple down the road, whether that means more team-ups on wax or instances of free-form trap-thirsting on social media. Either way, they seem like they’re having fun and enjoying each other’s company right now, and hopefully that’s an upward trend. Maybe one day, they’ll joke about this 4AM comment, as they don’t seem particularly distant from Teyana Taylor, either.

Meanwhile, the Icy Girl is tired of social media confusing her for other femcees, even though she expressed as such while showing love to her fellow artists. She’s got a big new single coming up to contend for a smash hit, and YG and Saweetie are always pretty successful in this mode. We’ll see whether they team up with Teyana Taylor for a collab one day, or if this will just be a forgettable moment online. As long as your partner knows about it, who are we to judge?
