ScHoolboy Q Spazzes On Third “BLUE LIPS” Single “Yeern 101”

ScHoolboy Q has been on absolute fire over the past month or so. The veteran California MC from Top Dawg Entertainment is about two and a half weeks away from returning with his sixth LP. BLUE LIPS is due on March 1 and based on what we have seen and heard; this is shaping up to be Q’s best record to date. One of the reasons why is because of the two pack he put out on February 6. “Back n Love” and “Blueslides” were both excellent tracks that offered contrasting pace and soundscapes.

If you follow ScHoolboy on Instagram, he shared a short teaser a couple of days ago. He captioned the post, “Yeern 101 tHursday…… I’m dope at stuff.” The video contained some snippets of recording sessions and music video sets. However, it did not prepare us for “Yeern 101” itself.

Listen To “Yeern 101” By ScHoolboy Q

We are so happy it did not, because going in knowing nothing about the track only made it sound better. “Yeern 101” features Q rapping his behind off like the rent was due. Cardo handles the production and brings a rumbling beat that has a big presence to it that is not too overwhelming on the ears. What is also a plus about this track is that it is available on DSPs. The same cannot be said about the previous two songs. Q just continues to impress and “Yeern 101” has just elevated our expectations even higher.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Yeern 101” by ScHoolboy Q? Is this the best single from BLUE LIPS? Will this be Q’s best album ever, why or why not? Is this the most exciting upcoming TDE release this year? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding ScHoolboy Q and BLUE LIPS. Finally, stay with us for the most informative song posts throughout the week.

Big Sean Reveals A New Album Is In The Works

Big Sean has been a rapper who is seen by some as the “corny dad jokes rapper.” But, his lengthy career is one that does not get enough love. He may not be on the level of Drake, Kendrick Lamar, or J. Cole. However, he has had a big hand in the explosive 2010 decade/era of hip-hop. Sean has the hits in his discography such as “Blessings,” “Bounce Back,” “Pull Up N Wreck,” and plenty more. However, since the start of the 2020 decade, Sean has not dropped a new album. Yes, he did bring out a deluxe of Detroit 2, as well as bringing his famous mixtape Detroit to streaming in 2022.

But, if we are technical about it, four years have gone by since his last new album. Even in terms of features, Sean has not seen much activity there either. You can find him on Larry June and The Alchemist’s 2023 project The Great Escape. In 2024, he and Bryson Tiller worked together for the Kentucky native’s SLUM TILLER VOL. 3 which is on Soundcloud. But, a recent Instagram comment has fans excited that Sean is finally ready to give us something bigger soon.

See You Next Year, AG Club, & ICECOLDBISHOP Collab For “How To Cry”

Compilation/music collective projects have been a thing for quite some time. However, it seems there are going to be a ton of them dropping in 2024. This weekend, one of the upstarts, 1999 WRITE THE FUTURE, put out their debut. hella (˃̣̣̥╭╮˂̣̣̥) ✧ ♡ ‧º·˚ had tons of solid tracks on it and the genres were plentiful. Lyrical Lemonade, while being around for several years, just formed into a music label of sorts to drop All Is Yellow. Another one on the rise is See You Next Year.

They got their start in 2022 and they also do not stay in one true lane. In just their short time as a collective, See You Next Year has worked with the legendary MIKE DEAN. However, that is not all. Teezo Touchdown, Kenny Mason, Paris Texas, and more have also seen the vision and have worked on tracks with them.

Heems Previews New Album Again With “Sri Lanka” Featuring Your Old Droog

Like a lot of rappers in 2024, Heems is on the path to a triumphant return with a big-time release. For the Punjabi-American underground MC, that moment is right around the corner. Heems has not put out a solo album since 2015 with Eat Pray Thug. When he puts out LAFANDAR, it would have almost been nine years to the day that Heems came through with an LP. What makes this comeback even more exciting is that it is a collaborative album.

Heems will be working with another multicultural talent, Lapgan. He is an Indian-American producer and will be handling the beats. Fans can expect the record on February 16 and to tide them over, he has two singles out. The lead song dropped back in late January. That featured Saul Williams and was titled “Accent.”

Now, Heems is bringing along Your Old Droog for a track. These two are familiar with each other, so you already know the chemistry will be there. They first worked together back in 2017 on “Bangladesh.” Now, they are hopping over to “Sri Lanka” to trade excellent rhymes. You can check out the latest preview of LAFANDAR on YouTube and all streaming platforms.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Sri Lanka,” by Heems, Lapgan, and Your Old Droog? Is this the better of the two tracks for his next album LAFANDAR, why or why not? Who had the stronger rap performance and why? Will this be the best album of his career? Who else do you want to see on the project? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. ScHoolboy Q Gives Us Contrasting Sounds On “Blueslides” & “Back In Love”

TDE and ScHoolboy Q fans can start to rejoice again! The gritty German-born MC is coming back with a new purpose in 2024. Q is back to provide his supporters with two tracks from his upcoming album BLUE LIPS. It will be the 37-year-old’s sixth project and his first since 2019’s CrasH Talk. That LP was more of a commercially-sounding release with more trap/pop rap-inspired cuts. That was especially the case with mainstream features such as Travis Scott, Lil Baby, Kid Cudi, and 21 Savage, among others.

However, “Blueslides” and “Back In Love” seem to hearken back to the days of the Blank Face LP. The first of the two brings a classical/jazzy sample into the fold where ScHoolboy raps in a thought-provoking manner. Besides being able to get introspective, Q can also dip into his banger bag. It is what makes him such an intriguing rapper and why fans are so amped for this tape.

Listen To “Blueslides” & “Back In Love” By ScHoolboy Q & Devin Malik

“Back In Love” features production from TDE beatmaker Devin Malik and some mean-mugging rapping from Q. The beat on this one is stank-face-inducing. There are haunting and nimble piano keys that peek through some guitar riffing and howling. It is a grimy trap instrumental that pairs perfectly with ScHoolboy Q’s gravelly voice. The feedback for both songs is already extremely positive and for good reason. He is cooking up something truly special and we cannot wait for March 1. Sadly though, according to HipHopNMore, the songs will only be up on YouTube for 24 hours. So, go check them out while you can!

What are your thoughts on these brand-new singles, “Blueslides” and “Back In Love,” by ScHoolboy Q and Devin Malik? Out of the two songs, which one is better and why? Will this be Q’s best album ever, why or why not? Is this the most exciting upcoming TDE album release this year? Who else do you want to see on the project? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Kanye West & Ty Dolla $ign To Host “Vultures” Volume 1 Listening Party In Chicago

Kanye West’s Vultures is just three days away from dropping. His collaborative tape with Ty Dolla $ign has been mercilessly pushed back, tracklists have changed, and volumes have been added. It would not be a Ye release if things were not somewhat chaotic. Fans can finally expect this thing to finally release on Friday, February 9. The volume point is important because there are three of them. They will be dispersed throughout the next two months.

There are tons of exciting features on Kanye West’s Vultures such as Freddie Gibbs, Quavo, Lil Durk, Future, and more. The fact that we are receiving three separate albums is exciting and also familiar. Ye did this back in 2018 when he went on one of his most memorable trio runs. Kids See Ghosts, ye, and contributions to Pusha T’s DAYTONA presented some of his best work. Hopefully, these Vulture volumes will replicate that excellence to some degree.

A post shared by Ty Dolla $ign (@tydollasign)

We have some more riveting news about the rollout from HipHopDX. According to them, Ty Dolla $ign and Mr. West have announced the listening party details. They did so on their Instagram accounts with two simple posters. One says “Vultures United Center Chicago 02 08 24.” The next slide shows the number “1.” This indicates it will exclusively be for the first entry of the album, so there could be two more for the subsequent volumes. If this goes through on Thursday, this could be one of the biggest music events in the last few years.

What are your thoughts on Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign hosting a listening party for Vultures and its first volume in Chicago this Thursday? Will they finally follow through with this, why or why not? Will this first installment be the best out of the three? Will this be as iconic as The Life of Pablo listening party? Zacari Wants To Stick By His Woman’s Side On “Ocean”

Right at the start of 2024, we had a feeling that this year would be a much busier year for hip-hop/R&B music. 2023 had its fair share of highlights for sure. However, the hype was not always there, and many were banking on the mainstream to pull through. That was not the case, but things are looking better than ever for the genre. TDE is contributing heavily to the excitement, and so is Zacari.

The Bakersfield, California singer has been teasing his sophomore LP, Stereo Miracle, for nearly one year to the day. “Motions” got things in motion (pun intended) on February 10. Then, Zacari would go on to collaborate with fellow R&B singer Ty Dolla $ign for “Ave Maria” back in October. Both singles are shaping this next album to be a solid one for Zacari.

Listen To “Ocean” By Zacari

On the Genius page, the tracklist is also seemingly revealed for all to see. However, sometimes things change and they are not always accurate. Which is why “Ocean,” Zacari’s latest single, could still make the cut. The sound of the track sounds like it would fit right at home on this next LP. It has a laid-back feel with him penning a song about wanting his energy to stay with the woman he is seeing. Sort of like how the waves from the ocean crash onto the coast. He wants to keep coming back for more.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single, “Ocean,” by Zachary? Is this the best song from the Stereo Miracle rollout? Will this be the best TDE album of 2024, why or why not? Who do you want to see on the album and why? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below.
