Headie One, Stormzy, & Tay Keith Unite For High-Profile Collab “Cry No More”

Headie One and Stormzy, two UK veteran rappers are some of the more prominent voices in the drill scene across the pond. In fact, they have a combined 17 years plus of experience and their undeniable chemistry shows up whenever they collaborate. Pretty soon, Headie One will be dropping his new project The Last One, so to hype it up, he just put out a new single “Cry No More.”

According to Genius, the prolific veteran will have it out by June 14. So far there have been two singles released ahead of it. One of them is of course “Cry No More,” and the other is “Martin’s Sofa.” That one is a bit peculiar, since it came out back in January of 2023. In terms of collaborations between Headie and Stormzy, this is now their third ever song.

Also in the fold for this track are high-end producers Tay Keith and Pooh Beatz. Both have crafted up some of the biggest trap bangers here in the states. But they are dabbling in UK drill in this case and it goes over well. Headie One spoke with Complex why he was so happy to work with both of them and why this is one of his favorites from The Last One. “This is one of my favorites from the album. I loved the sample and 808s straight away when Tay and Pooh played it in the studio. Stormzy went crazy on it, too.”

Lupe Fiasco Drops Coachella-Inspired Single “Indio” Ahead Of Upcoming Album

Lupe Fiasco has been playing the role of pot stirrer over the past few weeks or so. The legendary lyricist from the Windy City has been practically egging on Kendrick Lamar to respond to him. The “Show Goes On” MC cleared up the meaning behind a string of tweets that he was one of the rappers to apologize publicly to K-Dot. Essentially, he was really walking back his decision because he felt he did not need to be involved. He did not try to deny that he felt Lamar is just “solid.” Lupe Fiasco also subliminally took shots at Lamar during his time on the Coachella stage, and his new single “Indio” is partially based on that.

In the middle of his performance, Lupe announced that he is willing to go toe to toe with any rapper. “I don’t give a f*** how many records you sold. If you want smoke, I swear on my muthaf***in soul, I will walk through n****s. I will chew up n****s, I will body muthaf***as,” Lupe exclaimed. Also during his time slot, the prideful rapper announced his new album Samurai is going to be out sometime this summer, according to HipHopNMore.

Listen To “Indio” By Lupe Fiasco

So far, he has dropped “LLC,” a lyrically dense track showcasing his elite pen game. This could be the first single for Samurai and now we might have the second with “Indio.” Its another braggadocious statement from Lupe, with bars like, “At the very least, at least the n****s knew your name / And they be coming out the woodwork / Telling wolves that a brick ain’t how a wood work / Lowkey I been on a sweep.” The production, contrastingly, is very mellow and features a chill guitar loop.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “Indio” by Lupe Fiasco? Are you excited for Lupe’s upcoming album Samurai after hearing this, why or why not? Is this the better teaser track for the record? Do you think he has been too harsh on Kendrick Lamar as of late? Summrs Delivers A Multi-faceted Banger “Sneaky Link/Love That 4 Us”

Overall, there were not too many new albums and singles dropping this past weekend. Outside of the Metro Boomin and Future project WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU, mainstream artists remained quiet. It was a slightly more eventful week for lesser-known names, but that does not mean there was not quality to be had. Just take Summrs and his new song “Sneaky link/Love that 4 us.” For those wondering, you can find it on his new album B4DARAVEN.

This is a shorter release with just seven tracks, but fans of his do not need to panic. This will not be his only release of 2024. Word on the street is that this is just a precursor for the much longer TALE OF DA RAVEN, which still does not have a release date yet. For now though, let us discuss “Sneaky link/Love that 4 us.”

As you can see this is a two-part song and it is done pretty well. Summrs’ lyrics are nothing to write home about. But the real winner is the instrumental. The first half feels almost early Lil Uzi Vert-like with its playful and light trap beat. However, it seamlessly transforms into a guitar solo, which then leads into a slightly a funkier portion with trap elements.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new song “Sneaky link/Love that 4 us” by Summrs? Is this the best track from the rapper as of late, why or why not? Where do you rank this amongst the rest of the songs off of B4DARAVEN? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Summrs. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on around the music world.

Anycia Sounds More Nonchalant Than Ever Before On “BAD WEATHER”

With Atlanta, Georgia being one of the hubs for hip-hop, you already know that there is going to be an abundance of varying talent and styles. Anycia is someone who does not exactly fit into one specific lane. That is apparent through her casual mic presence and lyricism. It has quickly become an easily recognizable sound and it is why she will be cementing her star status very shortly when she releases her debut album. “BAD WEATHER” from Anycia is now most likely the third single from the LP.

Presumably, the first of three dropped back in the latter half of January. That was “BACK OUTSIDE” with fellow femcee Latto which was an absolute banger. Then, in March Anycia would go on to feed the fans twice with “UP, LIT. FREESTYLE” and “NENE’S PRAYER.” With the album dropping on April 26, she is treating people to one more gift with “BAD WEATHER.”

Bankroll Got It and jetsonmade team up for colorful and bouncy throwback-like beat which lays atop Anycia’s subdued delivery. Out of all of the singles so far, this may be one of her most carefree performances, maybe even in her entire career. “BAD WEATHER” seems to be a song about the negativity that can sometimes surround someone and drag them down. It is why the nonchalant approach from Anycia makes sense here, as she does her best to brush off the bad vibes.

What are your thoughts on this brand-new single “BAD WEATHER” by Anycia? Is this the best track she has put out as of late, why or why not? Does this get you excited for her upcoming album later this month, why or why not? Who would you want to hear on it when it drops? Normani Previews Snippet From Long-Awaited Album, But Fans Aren’t Messing With It

Overall, Normani has been an artist who fans have been dying to hear from again. The former Fifth Harmony member has been dropping loosies and singles since 2018. However, none of them have landed on an album. Her fan’s anticipation for this debut solo project has been building since that year and it makes sense. She has proven to be a formidable vocalist and someone that can definitely pull in numbers for the R&B genre. However, with all of this time in between that promise of a solo effort, it appears that fans are growing tired of waiting and waiting. Case and point are the reactions that Normani has received for her new snippet.

The Neighborhood Talk reshared a clip from Normani previewing some music from Dopamine. The lyrics of, “Bling bling blaow,” along with the club-friendly beat are turning a lot of people off. One fan comments, “Bling bling who?!?!? Normani babe we trying but cmon.” Another chimes in, “This would’ve been fire in 2008.” Additionally, someone else goes, “At this age, I am not singing out bling bling blou… I’m just not doing it.”

It seems like the last time fans were truly excited about Dopamine was when she announced that title and its accompanying artwork. That happened back in February of this year on her Instagram. “Cryingg typing this rn. DOPAMINE THE ALBUM.” However, Normani never included the release date and still did not in March when fans were reaching out asking for some other news on the album.

What are your thoughts on this new snippet from Normani’s upcoming album? Do you disagree with the majority’s reaction to the song, why or why not? Has her new project lost all of its hype and potential? When do you see her dropping this? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Brother Ali & UnJUST Drop Two More Promo Singles With “Worthy” & “Gauntlet” Featuring Roc Marciano

Brother Ali is one of the more intriguing prospects in the underground conscious rap scene. The longtime Wisconsin artist has an intricate pen game and understated delivery. He likes focusing more on the words rather than the cadence, which is highly commendable. Brother Ali is doing more of the same great stuff on two new singles, “Worthy” and “Gauntlet.”

Both of these Brother Ali tracks are produced by unJUST, as have the last three singles. All five are out to bring hype to the rapper’s forthcoming record Love & Service, his first in three years. The project is due on April 26 and to our knowledge, we know of one feature. That would be Roc Marciano, who actually features on “Gauntlet.” For those wondering where he dropped the former and “Worthy,” Brother Ali dropped the Roc collab on Apple Music only, and the solo track on Spotify.

In a way it is a two-pack, but not really. “Worthy” is the one that caught our immediate attention due to the incredible word play and rhymes. At the bottom there is just one sample of what Ali is bringing to the table. If you want to hear the rest of the great talent behind the mic, check out “Worthy” and “Gauntlet” on their respective platforms.

What are your thoughts on these brand-new singles, “Worthy” and “Gauntlet,” by Brother Ali, unJUST, and Roc Marciano? Which track is the better of the two and why? Does this get you excited for Brother Ali’s upcoming album Love & Service? What is your favorite element of the song? Who had the stronger performance on “Gauntlet?” Are any of these the best lead single for the record over the previous efforts? Metro Boomin & Future Reveal Chilling Artwork For “We Still Don’t Trust You”

What a time to be alive if you are a hip-hop fan. 2024 has been quite the resurgent year for the genre and two artists who are contributing heavily to the revitalized excitement are Metro Boomin and Future. The trap icons reunited for a full body of work in late March with WE DON’T TRUST YOU. It was a hit for many, as there were many bangers, with “Like That” leading the way. However, the superstar tandem is not done yet. With We Still Don’t Trust You dropping in two days, Metro and Future recently revealed the artwork, according to HipHopDX.

If you thought the WDTY cover was amazing, this one might be even better. This time around, the inseparable producer and rapper duo have opted for an even ominous black and white color scheme. In two of the quadrants, Metro and Future can be seen wearing black suits with white shirts underneath. Then, in the other pair, they are sporting all white with masks of some sort.

Metro Boomin fittingly captioned the post on Instagram, “WE STILL DON’T TRUST YOU
THE ALBUM OUT THIS FRIDAY DROP SOME 🔥🔥🔥 IF YOU READY.” It is safe to say that the community is definitely eager to get this project on their hands, especially with the consensus that this is poised to supersede its predecessor. Like before, we do not have much to go off of sonically speaking, outside of the fact that we will receive another Weeknd feature. But we are so amped for what should be another thrilling listening experience on April 12 at midnight.

What are your thoughts on the artwork for We Still Don’t Trust You by Metro Boomin and Future? Do you see this album doing better overall than WE DON’T TRUST YOU, why or why not? Metro Boomin, Future, & The Weeknd Build Up Anticipation With New Snippet Ahead Of “We Still Don’t Trust You

The hype within the trap rap circle is reaching uncontrollable levels with We Still Don’t Trust You just four days away. The sequel to Metro Boomin and Future’s WE DON’T TRUST YOU is especially exciting because it is an entirely separate album. This album might have a hard time living up the hype around its predecessor. That partially has to do with “Like That” being such a massive song. But also, there was a lot of quality to be had on WDTY. However, this new snippet from Metro, Future and The Weeknd, has us thinking this will be one heck of an album.

Of course, this trio were just seen on “Young Metro,” a woozy, dark, and atmospheric cut with stunning synths from MIKE DEAN. People were ecstatic to hear The Weeknd feature again, especially in this capacity. But some felt let down when all the Canadian superstar was tasked with handling adlibs and crooning. This new snippet holds out hope for us and everyone else, that things will be different this time around.

Fans Are Always Ready For A Metro, Future, & Weeknd Track

The instrumental is eerie once again. But instead of going full trap, it feels like it was inspired by After Hours. The steady drum pattern and synths feel 80s inspired and share similarities with “After Hours” as well. You can audibly hear The Weeknd wailing with Future sneaking in, “We still don’t trust you.” Fans are showing loads of optimism, saying, “So hyped for this.”

What are your thoughts on this new Metro Boomin, Future, and Weeknd snippet ahead of We Still Don’t Trust You? Will this be a better song that “Young Metro” from WE DON’T TRUST YOU? NBA YoungBoy Takes Over Utah With “Grave Digger Mountain” Billboards, Fans React

NBA YoungBoy has gotten off to a blazing start in 2024. However, we really did not expect anything less to be quite honest. Every year he somehow is able to just crank out singles and albums like they take no time at all. Sometimes that mentality to create over and over again can lead to fans getting bored or just sick of the material. At the end of the day with him, it really comes down to who you ask. He has a lot of passionate supporters and big-time haters as well. For his last album, Compliments of Grave Digger Mountain, YoungBoy was dividing fans again.

Some were very displeased with the results, while his ruthless fan base was cheering him on. However, this was not the project fans were expecting, as a new album I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders, was seemingly coming first. But that did not happen and it looks as if its coming sometime this month. Part of the reason for that are the new billboards that have popped up all over Utah.

Even with the album already out, this could just be more promotion to check out the record. However, some are wondering if this is for the upcoming LP. DJ Akademiks reposted the collage of photos, which includes billboards of the Grave Digger artwork on signs and public transportation across Utah. Some fans are claiming that he is the “fresh Prince of Utah.” Some also think it a little wild that he is getting all this publicity. “Imagine living in Utah and having to see YB face every day 😭, one person writes.”

What are your thoughts on these Compliments of Grave Digger Mountain billboards from NBA YoungBoy? Do you think he is just promoting this album or getting his fans ready for I Just Got A Lot On My Shoulders? Is his newest record still in your rotation? If so, which songs?
