Mac Miller’s Unreleased Album “Balloonerism” Announced At Camp Flog Gnaw Festival

Music fans continue to mourn the loss of Mac Miller, but they are more concerned with celebrating his legacy and the great work that he left us with. While he’s no longer around to share that love and passion with fans, it seems like they will get more chances to spread them in his name. Moreover, this is because of a new teaser that played during the first day of Tyler, The Creator’s Camp Flog Gnaw festival at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium (Saturday, November 16). In between Sampha and The Alchemist’s sets at the “Gnaw” stage, a teaser with various colorful visuals of anthropomorphic animals played on the screens, playing the previously leaked “5 Dollar Pony Rides” track from “The Quest” creative.

At the end, a title card simply read “Soon” as a balloon depicting Mac Miller’s face in an abstract, George Condo-esque way rose up. As such, fans are very excited about the possibility that Mac’s long-lost and unreleased album Balloonerism could be officially coming out as a posthumous release. The album was recorded in between Watching Movies With The Sound Off and Faces between 2013 and 2014, with some leaked tracks and associated songs landing on the latter project.

Mac Miller’s Balloonerism Is Apparently On The Way

In addition, E. Dan of ID Labs posted and then deleted some comments about Mac Miller’s Balloonerism. Basically, he said that the whole thing comes from a week of studio jam sessions and that Mac eventually moved onto Faces, taking a few tracks with him. Over the years, many songs from this era leaked online, and fans are very eager to hear what could arrive. Of course, maybe we’re all just misinterpreting this clip with no release date or official statement to work with, but it seems pretty reasonable. There could also be more unreleased music on the way from the Pittsburgh legend…

However, it’s important to note that some fans will understandably always be skeptical when it comes to posthumous releases. Fortunately, it seems like Mac Miller’s estate, loved ones, and fans assumed that responsibility with the utmost care and respect, so hopefully Balloonerism follows suit. He continues to resonate with massive audiences, and we can’t wait to celebrate his life again.

Kendrick Lamar Nearly Collaborated With Lil Wayne On A Classic Jay Rock Song Years Before Blowing Up

Kendrick Lamar nearly landed a star-studded collaboration with Lil Wayne years before the release of his breakthrough project, Section.80. While co-hosting The Bigger Picture for HipHopDX, DJ Hed revealed that Lamar originally performed a hook on Jay Rock’s 2008 song, “All My Life (In the Ghetto),” which features Lil Wayne. Instead, his part got switched out and replaced by will.i.am, who did his own hook on the track.

“Fun fact about this record: K. Dot was originally on this hook, and I actually have that record. But it can never see the light of day,” he said. “He was doing a whole different hook. The song was called ‘Ghetto’ but it had a different hook on it that K. Dot did.” The song ended up on Rock’s project Follow Me Home three years later.

From there, Hed explained that Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith felt Wayne’s verse was too long and decided to rearrange the song. “I probably shouldn’t say this but when Jay Rock did this record, Wayne gave them this long-ass verse and they cut it up,” Hed said. “Wayne was doing that at the time. Glasses Malone had a song called ‘Haterz’ and he did the same thing, it was like a 32-bar verse. In this song, Top was actually brilliant — and shout out to will.i.am, too — in arranging the song to where Wayne [and Jay Rock], it sounded like they were going back and forth.” Both Lamar and Rock were signed with Top’s now-iconic imprint, TDE, at the time.

Eventually, Lamar did end up collaborating with Wayne. He appears on his Tha Carter V track, “Mona Lisa.” Check out Hed’s full recollection of the story above. Be on the lookout for further updates on Kendrick Lamar on HotNewHipHop.

J Cole Track “Mama’s Eyes” Leaks Onto The Internet

J Cole has had a very, very peculiar 2024 so far: a beef exit, some divisive features, a new mixtape, and a whole lot of teasing up until the release of his next album, The Fall Off. Fans can’t wait for what’s next, with some just simply hoping for great material and others looking for retribution after the Kendrick Lamar and Drake situation. Moreover, an unreleased track of his titled “Mama’s Eyes” hit SoundCloud recently, and some Internet sleuthing doesn’t reveal much of a breadcrumb trail in its wake. We don’t know if this is an old leak, a new one, or some bizarre A.I. trickery, but nevertheless, it’s a very tender and introspective cut.

“Mama’s Eyes” seems to be a conversation between J. Cole and an old friend of his as the rapper talks about making it out of his old life, dealing with suppressed emotions, and feelings of loneliness in the face of perseverance and self-conscious focus on his craft. As is usual with the Dreamville boss, there are some very sharp and heartfelt bars all throughout. It’s just as humble and aware as many of his fan interactions are, and it’s a uniquely grounded quality that he’s always championed with his music. Hopefully some more heat comes soon.

J Cole’s “Mama’s Eyes” Leak: Listen

Meanwhile, a recent audio inclusion at Kendrick Lamar’s “The Pop Out” might suggest that he and J. Cole are all cool now following the beef situation. Fans thought that they heard one of Cole’s ad-libs in the background of K.Dot’s “Alright” performance at his Los Angeles Juneteenth concert. Whether this is just a small mistake due to picking the wrong backing track or a deliberate decision might be an unanswered question for the rest of time. But at least it was cool to take note of.

If you’re looking for more after hearing this leak, you will get new J Cole material soon… But it might not sound like “Mama’s Eyes.” For example, he was recently spotted filming a music video with Tee Grizzley in New York City, so they could have some heat on the way. Nevertheless, it’s more likely than not that The Fall Off will be a more lyrically dense and emotively measured LP. We’ll see if this new unreleased record makes that tracklist or if it’s just an old idea.

Ice Cube Explains To Shaquille O’Neal Why He Blocked His Collaboration With Dr. Dre

Shaquille O’Neal recently brought on Ice Cube to his show, The Big Podcast, during which the legendary rapper revealed why he blocked Shaq from releasing a collaboration with Dr. Dre. The track was titled, “That’s Gangsta,” which addresses what Cube took issue with. He explained that O’Neal was “more than just gangsta” and a star of the Los Angeles Lakers at the time.

“Cube was executive producing one of my records,” Shaq said. “And he put me in the studio with Dr. Dre. I did a song called ‘That’s Gangsta.’ Cube heard it and was like, ‘Nope. We’re not releasing this.’ Dre did the beat. I thought it was nice … And then I played it for Cube … He was like, ‘Shaq, you’re a f*cking Laker, bro. I don’t want you talking about nothing gangsta. We not doing none of that sh*t.’ And it never came out.”

From there, Cube explained: “Shaq is a dope MC, but I just felt the record was off-brand for him because, to me, he’s more than just gangsta. He’s loved by millions, loved by kids. He already established that. And why go backward when you’re already forward? You’re already a household name.” Shaq wasn’t upset with the comments, instead suggesting it taught him an important lesson. “That taught me, Cube, stay true to who you are,” O’Neal said. “‘Cause I ain’t gonna lie. You guys wanna be basketball players, I wanted to be y’all growing up.” Check out the full interview below.

Lil Yachty & 21 Savage Join Forces On 2016 Freshman List Reunion Track “Part Of The Plan”

Lil Yachty went back to his old stomping grounds not too long ago to drop some old recordings over the course of his career. That familiar place is Soundcloud, which the Georgia creative is still active on even till this day. Lil Boat hopped on his IG story about 24 hours ago to announce that he loaded up tHE CONCRETE LeaK sYstem with a “new” batch of 14 tracks. Some of the tracks have the years in which they were made, and the ones that do were concocted in 2022, 2023, or 2021. One of them, “Part of the plan”, sees Lil Yachty work with someone who should be a frequent collaborator.

That would be 21 Savage and because of that hometown connection, you would think they would have a lengthy history. However, the opposite is quite true, as we could only find two official releases from them. “Drippin’” and “Neck Shine” are on a producer project from Dolan Beats called Most Known Unknown (Dolan Beats Classic). Those are 2018 cuts, but outside of those two, “Part of the plan” is the only other one with both their names attached.

Listen To “Part Of The Plan” By Lil Yachty & 21 Savage

Even with the lack of songs together, Yachty and 21 do share one major accomplishment together. Both have become some of the biggest stars from the 2016 XXL Freshman class. In a crop that featured the likes of Lil Uzi Vert, Kodak Black, Denzel Curry, and etc., these two have arguably trumped them in influence. Now, they are back to rekindle that connection on “Part of the plan”.

What are your thoughts on “Part of the plan” by Lil Yachty and 21 Savage? Is this the best song from the recent tHE CONCRETE LeaK sYstem drop, why or why not? Do you think him and 21 need to collab more often going forward? How long have you heard about this Soundcloud account? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. Additionally, always keep it locked in with HNHH for all of the latest news surrounding Lil Yachty and 21 Savage. Finally, stay with us for everything else going on in the music world.

Moneybagg Yo Disses BIG30 On Leaked Song, He Seems To Respond

It seems like Bread Gang Entertainment, Moneybagg Yo’s label, is facing some internal conflict at the moment, as an unreleased diss track seemingly against signee BIG30 surfaced online over the weekend. In it, he claims that there have been sneak disses and behind-the-scenes betrayals on BIG’s part, and that Bagg gave him all the resources necessary for his career. However, the label boss thinks that his artist fumbled the bag and just isn’t connecting with the fanbases anymore, as well as suggesting a gambling addiction. Furthermore, it’s not the best look for the former “GO!” collaborators, and hopefully they can resolve their issues through a clean rap battle or just a heart-to-heart.

However, BIG30 allegedly responded to Moneybagg Yo via a Facebook post from Friday (May 17) after he first heard the unreleased diss track. “And who tf said they gone die bout that lame a** s**t,” the Still King MC reportedly expressed, per AllHipHop. “That don’t even sound like me truth be told n***a recruited my n***a for protection. Sholl hope yeen never thought my n***a had super powers he couldn’t do it by his self fool a** n***a. Benny The Butcher Teases Unreleased Songs With Nas, Meek Mill, & More

Benny The Butcher says he’s got collaborations with Nas, Meek Mill, Scarface, and more that he’s sitting on. He discussed the never-before-heard songs during an interview on The Breakfast Club, last week.

“I got a record with Meek [Mill] that nobody never heard,” he said. “And I actually did the record with Meek like a week before I did the record with Drake, y’know what I’m saying? I got a record with Nas the world never heard […] Hit Boy produced it. It’s clearing these records — that’s what it is. It’s the next level of the business. It was surely my biggest record … And the record’s just sitting in my pocket.” He also made it clear he has no issue with Drake over the situation: “That’s the biggest artist in the world so I understand his release schedule might be hectic or he might have people that be like, ‘We can’t drop that right now because we doing this.’ I understand that.”

Flo Milli Debuts New Unreleased Song And Fans Beg Her To Drop It

Earlier this year Flo Milli announced that she has a new album on the way. The project is called Fine Ho, Stay and while it doesn’t currently have a release date, she’s been dropping potential singles for the album all year. And she might have yet another one on the way after teasing fans with it. She made the live debut of the still unreleased track and a clip of the performance started making the rounds online prompting her fans to beg for the song to be released.

“Definitely need to drop so I can sing along whilst drinking a TALL glass of wine feeling myself in the mirror,” reads one of the top comments on an Instagram post of her performance clip. Fans on Twitter returned with similar reactions. “what’s with unreleased tiktok audios being so tough??? like flo milli needs to drop that song asap,” and “i need that flo milli unreleased song out RIGHT NOW,” two responses read. Check out the performance clip and even more fan reactions to it below.

Flo Milli Has Fans Dying For Unreleased Song

Though Flo Milli’s new album doesn’t have an official tracklist announced yet, she’s released plenty of material that could land on the project. Most recently, she dropped her new song “BGC” last month. The hard-hitting track has already racked up nearly 1 million Spotify streams in less than a month since it first dropped.

In contrast, Milli was much more intimate on her previous single. “Chocolate Rain” dropped back in September and has similarly racked up almost 2 million streams in two months. Her biggest moment of 2023 so far came on the remix of Lah Pat’s song “Rodeo.” The new version of the song dropped back in February and has over 73 million streams. That puts it among her top 5 most popular songs on Spotify. Are you ready for Flo to drop the unreleased song she’s been teasing? Let us know in the comment section below.

Just Blaze Surprises Fans With 2 Unreleased Slaughterhouse Songs

Just Blaze surprised fans by dropping two previously unreleased Slaughterhouse songs on Monday. Taking to Twitter, he announced that he finally found the never-released album, Glass House. It was still being worked on when Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, and Royce da 5’9″ disbanded the group.

“I just found the slaugherhouse album. Jesus this is great. I might do the lords work,” Just Blaze wrote in his post. Fans on social media were stoked by the news. One replied: “Please, Justin. For the good of humanity and dusty underground rap fans across the universe.” Another wrote: “If there’s ever a time to do something big for the culture again it’s 2023 we need a W lol and it would be interesting to see the response and ensuing chain of events.”

A previous update on the long-awaited project came in 2016, when Royce 5’9″ told HipHop-N-More that it was finished. “We don’t have a release date yet but we definitely have a full body of work done,” he said at the time. “We gonna go in after I finish what I’m rolling out right now and do some minor tweaks. We’re gonna try to put it out hopefully soon but we haven’t talked release dates yet.”

Budden also reflected on the demise of Slaughterhouse during an interview on Drink Champs, earlier this year. No longer caring about the years-old drama, he took the blame. “Gimme the blame. I’ll take the blame. Hey! I ruined everything. Everything that you loved, I ruined that sh*t.” Budden said. “I’ll take the blame. It’s just ten years long of just stories and talkin’—ay! I did it. It was me.” Be on the lookout for further updates on the release of Glass House on HotNewHipHop.

Tory Lanez TikTok Trend Gets Backlash Online

The case of Tory Lanez has been one of the biggest scandals in hip-hop in recent years, also owed to the fact that it involves fellow MC Megan Thee Stallion on the other side of the courtroom. After years of back-and-forth, the court will sentence the Canadian artist on August 7. However, he popped up in pop culture in unconventional ways since, namely a recent TikTok trend. As such, a lot of users engaging in it are facing criticism online for not knowing that they’re promoting the convicted artist’s unreleased music with that trend. The unreleased song in question is called “Hurts Me,” and has been used a lot outside of the trend itself, as well.

Furthermore, the trend consists of a “striking face” filter that comically enlarges eyes and lips with a five o’clock shadow. The original audio has 125,000 uses in other videos, with most of them uploaded in the past three days alone. If you search for the song on social media, you will find an avalanche of fans begging for its release- and Tory’s, for that matter. However, when it comes to people using the trend without knowing it’s him, blog Daily Dot brought up the example of previously unreleased tracks that trended eventually becoming big hits.

Tory Lanez’s Unreleased Track “Hurts Me” In TikTok Trend

Of course, hardcore Tory Lanez fans will likely continue to share their love for the song and the artist regardless. However, the article and some Twitter users pointed out that this only gives Tory and his ream more reason to eventually drop the song and profit off of it. “Why have you lot made a Tory Lanez song trend on TikTok, have we learnt nothing,” one user tweeted. Still, many users also expressed that you can still love the song and understand why the 30-year-old should be behind bars. It’s a murky situation, but a personal one at the end of the day. No song is a “Get Out Of Jail Free” card, after all.

Meanwhile, Lanez’s team recently failed to dismiss and disqualify the judge who ruled against his motion for a new trial. In addition, he and DaBaby faced accusations of trying to ambush one of Meg’s performances. With each new development, the case seems to get wilder and wilder, but fans are still dead-set on wanting “Hurts Me” to see the light of day.
