Trae Tha Truth Drops Emotional Song Dedicated To Missing Daughter

Trae Tha Truth has been going a period of personal turmoil. The rapper’s daughter has gone missing, and he’s tried everything he can to get the word out. Trae Tha Truth broke the news via social media, but there have yet to be any major developments in his daughter’s whereabouts. The rapper then decided to do what he does best, which is air his feelings out in song. The Texas legend dropped the song “Letter to Truth, Pt. 2” on December 12. In it he details his emotional state, and his desire to see his child again.

Trae Tha Truth does not attempt to hide the meaning of the song behind metaphor or allegory. He writes a plain, and emotionally gutting tribute to his daughter, Truth. “Thinking of you, I just gotta be great,” Trae raps. “You’re looking for me, I don’t want to be late.” Elsewhere in the song, Trae Tha Truth admits he has been waiting on a call regarding Truth’s location for weeks. “You ain’t gotta worry about it, I’m coming to get ya,” the rapper spits. “Wanna smile, but I know they gonna mess up the picture. Every morning, I got G.T. reading me Scripture, I been waiting on a call, I hope I don’t miss ya.”

Trae Tha Truth Details His Concern In New Song

It’s heavy material, but it makes complete sense given the context. Trae Tha Truth claims that he last saw his daughter when she was picked up by her mother. He theorized that the mother is responsible for the young girl’s disappearance. In the Instagram post detailing Truth’s disappearance, Trae went at the mom of his child and criticized her behavior. “She lied to courts,” Trae Tha Truth claimed. “And accused me of assault, sexual assault, threatening my child with a gun and more… Her mom took her and felt it was ok to keep her away from a [sic] active father.”

Trae Tha Truth has urged any fans who may have information about his daughter’s whereabouts to reach out to him. He also provided a heartfelt description of “Letter to Truth, Pt. 2” in the YouTube information section. “I pray God let every word in this letter,” the Texas rapper proclaimed. “Hep those who need it the most and reach those who really dealing wit pain and hurt. I now understand it’s ok to cry and let it all out.” We hope Trae That Truth and his daughter are eventually reunited.

Trae Tha Truth Claims Missing Daughter Was “Kidnapped” By Her Mother

Trae tha Truth is a hip hop legend. He’s an influential figure in the Texas scene, and he got a boost in popularity earlier this year when he was name-dropped in a J. Cole song. Music was the last thing on Trae’s mind on December 5, however. The rapper took to social media to voice his concern about his daughter. Trae tha Truth claimed that she has been missing for four months, and believes that her mom may have something to do with it. He provided everything he knew, and suspected, in a lengthy write up.

“I’m Crushed,” Trae tha Truth explained. “I neva thought my Daughter Truth would be in a missing childrens Database or on a poster.” The rapper claimed that the last time he saw his daughter was when her mother picked her up in Houston. It’s reportedly been radio silence ever since. Trae claims that she has been waiting on the mother to “do the right thing and bring her back,” but it has yet to happen. It’s reached a point where the rapper is tired of waiting. “[Her] safety is more important than my life itself,” he asserted. “I’m forced to share my pain to try to get her back in safe hands where she belong.”

Trae Tha Truth Fears For His Daughter’s Safety

Trae tha Truth went on to detail the concern he has for his daughter’s mental as well as physical well-being. He posited that there will be psychological trauma as a result of her mother’s actions, and is very disheartened by the fact that the mother of his child would do such a thing. “The damage being done to her mentally and more is something she cant see or understand yet,” he noted. Things got progressively intense as the post wore on. The rapper began to level accusations of misbehavior at his former partner.

Trae tha Truth claimed that the mother of his child has not been honest with the courts. Or honorable in their co-parenting situation. “She lied to courts and accused me of Assault, Sexual assault, threatening my child with a gun and more,” he asserted. “Her mom took her and felt it was ok to keep her away from a [sic] active father.” The rapper closed the post by asking anyone with information to contact him.

Five Artists Whose Careers Were Sparked By The Late DJ Screw

dj screw 1

As we celebrate the unparalleled career of the legendary Robert “DJ Screw” Davis Jr. during the week of his passing almost a quarter century ago, we decided to explore some of Houston’s most revered artists and how their career was founded and expanded due to their connection to DJ Screw. As the known originator of the famous “chopped and screwed” sound and the leader of H-Town’s Screwed Up Click, Screw released more than 350 mixtapes before his untimely passing in 2000. With chopped and screwed as his signature sound, he made tapes which he sold out his Screwed Up Records and Tapes store in Houston, solidifying himself as a businessman and a music innovator.

Here are just some of H-Town’s most respected artists that admittedly wouldn’t be where they are today if it weren’t for the foundation laid by the late DJ Screw.

Trae Tha Truth

Houston-born emcee and activist Trae Tha Truth, along with longtime collaborator Z-Ro in their group ABN, made their ascension in the game as members of the legendary Screwed Up Click, with the 44-year-old dropping 11 solo albums, over 25 mixtapes and now serves as VP of T.I.’s Grand Hustle Records. Trae is also well known for his philanthropy as the founder of both Angel by Nature, a charity aimed at helping the impoverished youth of Texas.

Lil Flip

Named Houston’s “freestyle king” by Screw himself, Lil Flip got his break in the game when Screw heard his debut album The Leprechaun on H-Town based label Sucka Free Records and put him down with the Screwed Up Click. Four years later, Flip signed a deal with Sony Urban Music and dropped his third album and first double-disc CD U Gotta Feel Me, which contained the popular single “Game Over(Flip”, earning him his first platinm plaque of his career.

Paul Wall

Even though Pau lWall repped North Houston and was under Michael “5000” Watts’ Swishahouse Records, his most popular singles, 2005’s “Sittin Sidewayz”, which samples a line from Big Pokey’s verse on DJ Screw’s “June 27th” and Mike Jones’ “Still Tippin” remix featuring Screwed Up Click’s Lil Keke and Big Pokey, set the tone for the duration of Wall’s career. Today, Wall is also an accomplished and proficient mixtape and party DJ, known for producing mixtapes in the famous chopped and screwed style, which was invented by DJ Screw.

Big Moe

Originating from Houston, Texas, and as one of the founding members of the “Original Screwed Up Click,” Big Moe started out in music by freestyling on DJ Screw mixtapes like many of his Houston peers. Big Moe’s debut album, City of Syrup, dropped in 2000). The title was a nod to Houston’s reputation for drinking codeine-laced syrup called “lean” or “sizzurp”, which Moe pours from a Styrofoam cup on the album’s cover.

DJ Mike “5000” Watts

In the mid-1990s, chopped and screwed music started to move to the north side of Houston by way of Swishahouse Records founder DJ Michael “5000” Watts.  A rivalry between North and South Houston over the true originators of chopped and screwed began to arise, but Michael “5000” Watts always gave credit to DJ Screw as the originator of chopped and screwed music, although Watts has been a proponent of the slogan “screwed and chopped” instead of “chopped and screwed”.

Following the death of DJ Screw, his musical influence spread all over the southern United States. Later in 2000, the Memphis-based group Three 6 Mafia came out with their song “Sippin’ on Some Syrup”. The song debuted as a minor hit but later became one of Three 6 Mafia’s most popular songs.

The 2007 documentary film Screwed in Houston details the history of the Houston rap scene and the influence of the chopped and screwed subculture on Houston hip hop. In 2011, University of Houston Libraries acquired over 1,000 albums owned by DJ Screw. Some of the albums were part of an exhibit in early 2012 and, along with the rest, went available for research in 2013. Today, the chopped and screwed music genre has been added to all forms of streaming services including iTunes, Spotify and has crossed over to receive mass mainstream appeal.

Trae The Truth Has Enticing Intel On J Cole’s Eagerly Awaited “The Fall Off”

There are still a lot of projects we and a lot of fans are wanting to drop before the end of 2024. We are waiting on releases from A$AP Rocky, maybe Kendrick Lamar, Drake and PARTYNEXTDOOR, just to name a handful. Arguably, though, J Cole’s The Fall Off is near the top of that wish list. It’s been teased on multiple occasions for the last couple of years, but this year feels a little different thanks to Might Delete Later. The surprise April mixtape kind of feels like a collection of teasers for this hyped-up offering.

However, with just about two months to go, we are still waiting in the wings. But Trae Tha Truth is providing a little bit of insight on what the plan is for J Cole, according to HipHopDX. Recently, the Houston rapper made an appearance on The Breakfast Club and he says that “his album coming”. That’s sort of just lip service, but around the 33:00 mark, the “Trae Tha Truth in Ibiza (Remix)” collaborator claims that most aren’t going to expect some things Cole has ready.

Trae Tha Truth Says J Cole’s Album Is On The Way

“And when the album coming, it’s probably gonna shock a lot of people. Remember what I tell you all the time: a lot of people form opinions on a lot of things and they don’t fully know the situation. He’ll be aight. Before it’s too late, you never know what bro what may do”. This is an allusion to Cole and Kendrick’s complicated relationship and the apology that set a lot of people off. Trae has been a defendant of the North Carolina MC over the entire beef, so his intel may have weight when it’s all said and done.

What are your thoughts on Trae Tha Truth’s beliefs about J Cole’s The Fall Off? Do you think we get the album by the end of the year, why or why not? What do you think we will come to learn in regard to him and Kendrick Lamar’s relationship? We would like to hear what you have to say, so leave your thoughts in the comments. Trae Tha Truth Hops On A Remix Of The Titular Track By J. Cole

J. Cole’s Might Delete Later project was one the biggest moments in hip-hop this year. It was preceded by several vlogs on the North Carolina rapper’s YouTube of the same name. It surprised many, as no one thought they would culminate into a full collection of tracks. Unfortunately, the collection of B-sides sort of came and went for a lot of people, with the actually deleted “7 Minute Drill” playing a big role. The futile Kendrick Lamar diss track did not come across as authentic and it led to the infamous J. Cole apology at Dreamville Fest. However, it did spawn a few highlights like “Trae Tha Truth in Ibiza” which now has a remix.

Overall, the original song does not have anything to do with the Houston rapper. J. Cole is more so talking about he is fed up with the labels and expectations. The on-brand themes and fantastic lyricism make it a standout and this remix is equally as fulfilling. Trae Tha Truth sticks to the program, as his verse sees him get real about his career and his future plans. Structurally, his portion follows Cole’s second verse and his outro from the original remains the same. You can hear the new version with the link below.

J Cole Supported By Trae Tha Truth Over Dropping Out Of Drake & Kendrick’s Beef

Over the last couple of months, J Cole has been laying quite low after dropping out of the Kendrick Lamar beef. People have been commending the German-born MC for his decision to bow out, as most know it is not in his nature to get into beefs. However, there are still quite a few people out there who still lack respect for the “7 Minute Drill” MC. Him and Drake continue to receive criticism for essentially not doing anything of merit since taking their respective L’s. For example, countless jokes circled the internet after his questionable guest performance on Cash Cobain’s “Grippy”.

But there are hip-hop figures out there who are showing J Cole love, and that includes Trae Tha Truth. According to HipHopDX, the Houston, Texas rapper sat down with AllHipHop at the BET Awards this past weekend and showed nothing but compassion for the man. Overall, Trae feels like the media painted Cole in an egregiously negative light for removing himself from what has become an overtly violent beef at times. The smoky-voiced MC sees no issue with the apology as Trae knows that Cole does not move like that.

“I watch blogs and I watch headlines make it as if he [Cole] was just trying to get away or duck any type of situation. And that wasn’t the case. What people have to realize is that’s just not the type of energy bro got. You know what I’m saying? He focused on him, he focused on his kids and just always stayed in his lane”. Trae elaborated further, “So everybody wanted to see him rumble and not knowing a lot of us came up together. We partners. So, for me, being a real brother to him, you got to respect if somebody like, ‘Man, you know what, bro? I know I’m dope. I’m not questioning myself. I just feel like that’s just not the energy that I’m on’”.

What are your thoughts on Trae Tha Truth backing J Cole’s decision to bow out of the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef? Are you surprised that he feels this way, why or why not? Trae Tha Truth Recruits Rising Star BossMan Dlow For Dark Banger “I Can’t Wait”

Trae Tha Truth has cemented himself as one of the most iconic voices in the Southern hip-hop scene without question. Part of the reason for that is his trademark sound, which is equal parts dark and chill. Additionally, his delivery is easily recognizable, as his smoky, monotone cadence is one of the best on the mic. That sound has been built for decades too, as he has been in the game since the early 2000s. Even though there are some artists out there who can lose their draw, Trae is not one of them because we are ecstatic for what is possibly coming down the pipeline. There is a good chance that he delivers a new project called Crowd Control very soon, and so far, the rollout has been great. Just about a week and a half ago he and A$AP Ferg collided on the nocturnal trap banger “Rock Out”. Now, Trae Tha Truth is continuing to be on a roll with “I Can’t Wait”.

“I Can’t Wait” is braggadocious and is just as dark and woozy. This time around, Trae is working alongside BossMan Dlow. The Florida MC is in the middle of a breakout year, dropping tracks like “Talk My S***”, “Get In With Me”, and more. However, Trae and BossMan do rap over very different instrumentals. The latter enjoys dark trap beats, but he likes to incorporate a lot of heavy piano and skittering drums. Still, BossMan does his thing on this slow-mo beat. He does not sound clunkly or awkward over it at all and it shows that these two can develop some chemistry down the line. Be sure to check out “I Can’t Wait” below.

Trae Tha Truth & A$AP Ferg Team Up For Hazy & Braggadocious Single “Rock Out”

Trae Tha Truth does not the credit he deserves for being a standout voice in the Southern hip-hop scene. With so many legends, especially from Houston (where he is from), his name does not get brought enough. He is not a hit song writer, but he is able to create these luxuriously smoky bangers with ease. That trademark style has taken him a long way, as he is now over 20 years deep into his career.

Recently, Trae Tha Truth dropped off a new single, “Rock Out”, which provides a hazy environment right from the jump. Joining him on this spacey cut is A$AP Ferg, or FERG. Surprisingly, this is the first time that we are hearing these veterans on the same record. Their approach to creating tracks is different. However, it is not to the point that sticking them on the same beat does not make sense at all.

Listen To “Rock Out” By Trae Tha Truth & A$AP Ferg

In fact, FERG brings an incredibly wavy performance on “Rock Out” which fits the vibe to a tee. His “Rooocckkk outtt” background vocals add so much extra character to the instrumental as well. Furthermore, his flow and cadence are incredibly playful and carefree. All in all, this song is a total banger, and it looks to be the lead single for Trae’s next record, Crowd Control. Fans can expect it to drop sometime this summer.

What are your thoughts on “Rock Out” by Trae Tha Truth and A$AP Ferg? Does this lead single get you hyped for Trae’s forthcoming album Crowd Control? What is your favorite aspect of it? Who had the more memorable performance and why? Are you surprised this is only their first song together? We would like to hear what you have to say, so be sure to leave your takes in the comments section. They took to the streets of Houston just before the new year to distribute coats, jackets, and blankets to the homeless population. The duo’s selfless initiative aimed to provide warmth and comfort to those in need during the chilly winter season.

“Woke up and Decided to Bless A Few Hundred Of tha Homeless with Jackets and Coats For The Cold on Behalf of my Daughter @iambabytruth @reliefgang,” Trae wrote in an Instagram post.

“It’s special. Everybody knows Trae is a really boots-on-the-ground kind of personality. Being his brother, I found that collaboration and the way he truly cares about the city to be very important.”

The generous gesture touched the hearts of many on social media. Instagram users praised Trae’s consistent commitment to helping people. Winter In Texas

Temperatures can drop in Texas for the winter time, despite frequent warm weather. A notable time when Texas saw extreme winter weather was the “Great Texas Freeze” that occurred in February 2021 in which every county in the state and even northeastern Mexico was placed under a Winter Storm Warning, with many experiencing wind chill values below zero.

In other news with Trae The Truth, he was involved in beef with fellow Houston rapper Z-Ro. The two were involved in a fight at 50 Cent’s Tycoon  event in August 2022 and Trae later revealed that the beef between them was “internal.”

Cardi B & More Give Back For The Holidays

This act of generosity by Trae The Truth and Cedric The Entertainer aligns with the compassionate spirit exhibited by rappers during the holiday season. Several artists, including Cardi B, Kendrick Lamar, T.I., members of TDE, and others hosted toy drives to bring joy to children and their families.
