ScHoolboy Q Invites TDE Artists To His Show After Latest Toronto Cancelation

TDE and Toronto are not getting along these days. The record label has had multiple shows canceled since Kendrick Lamar triumphed over Drake in their culture-shaking battle. ScHoolboy Q was the first, and most notable, given how much he had to say about the cancelation on Twitter. SiR fell victim to a similar fate, however, on July 30. The R&B singer confirmed that the Toronto venue he was slated to perform at pulled out at the last minute. ScHoolboy Q had a lot to say on the matter, and decided to invite SiR to his own show in Phoenix, Arizona.

“Phx tonight,” the rapper tweeted. “It’s sold out if u got sumtHin FROm BLUE LIPS SHOW and I’ll put 20 ppl on list.” ScHoolboy Q then shouted out his fellow TDE artists, and the strife they’re going through in Toronto. “@SiR u sHould slide bro,” he wrote with a laughing emoji. “Bring @zacarip.” SiR and Zacari are the resident singers on the TDE label, with the latter serving as SiR’s opening act on tour. Q is making it clear that he’ll be more than happy to have them at his show, since Toronto doesn’t want them at their designated venue.

ScHoolboy Q Hinted At Drake Being Responsible

This isn’t the first time ScHoolboy Q has commented on SiR’s Toronto troubles. Q was in stitches as soon as the singer confirmed the cancelation. “Hahahahahahahaha,” he wrote. “Take yo a*s home boy. Sing on the bus it’s ova wit.” This, of course, is referencing the theory many fans have put forth, which is that Drake is keeping TDE artists from performing in his own city. ScHoolboy Q alluded to this when his show was canceled on July 18. Q also noted that OVO artists have been allowed to perform in L.A. without issue.

The most ironic part of the whole Toronto saga was the tweet that SiR made after ScHoolboy Q’s show got canceled. He quote tweeted a fan who voiced concern that SiR’s show was the next to be taken off the Toronto venue’s list. “My sh*t ain’t canceled,” he assured the fan. Sure enough, the singer’s show suffered the same fate as his TDE label mate. He even called back to the tweet, and made light of the situation. “This sh*t didn’t age well at all….,” he tweeted.

SiR’s Toronto Show Cancelation Leads To Speculation That Drake Is To Blame

SiR is the latest TDE artist to have their show in Toronto canceled with short notice after ScHoolboy Q suffered a similar fate, earlier this month. A reason for SiR’s cancelation wasn’t given, but he says the decision was from the venue. Expectedly, the situation has caused fans to theorize that Drake was behind the move following his viral feud with Kendrick Lamar.

“This sh*t didn’t age well at all….” SiR joked, resurfacing his original post. In another, he confirmed: “So sorry to my Toronto fans. The show has been cancelled. We’re working on rescheduling for a later date..” When fans began theorizing the cancelation could have been due to low ticket sales, SiR clarified that it was a sold-out date. “For those wondering, we sold that show out. It was cancelled by the venue. Not sure why. My apologies again to those that came just to see me,” he wrote.

ScHoolboy Q responded to the announcement, writing: “HAHAHAHAHAHHAAHHAHAA TAKE YO ASS HOME BOY.. SING ON THE BUS ITS OVA WIT.” Fans shared their takes on the situation in the replies. “If a n***a got enough influence to get you barred from a country and you can’t do the same to him, I’m afraid that he may actually be more important outside of social media lol,” one user wrote. One more wrote: “Toronto still banning TDE is the lamest thing I read on here [crying emoji] this is super petty.”

ScHoolboy Q Hilariously Trolls Drake After DJ Plays “Not Like Us” In Toronto

Toronto’s stance on the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle has been a recent talking point. Drake’s hometown has not been welcoming to those who took Lamar’s side in the battle. Rick Ross was attacked during a recent stop in TO. ScHoolboy Q, meanwhile, claimed that the Canadian tour of his Blue Lips tour was canceled. Well, Q seemingly gotten payback against Drizzy on July 29. ScHoolboy Q got to sit back and watch as a DJ blasted the Drake diss “Not Like Us” on a Toronto stage. Better yet, the same stage that the TDE rapper was supposed to perform on a few weeks prior.

DJ Scheme was the man behind the “Not Like Us” needle drop. He decided to throw on the iconic Drake diss during his Toronto set, and surprisingly, it rang off. The footage of Scheme’s set list shows that fans were more than game to sing along to Kendrick Lamar’s rhymes. The fact that the DJ got away with this would have been enough to elicit discourse, but then ScHoolboy Q chimed in. The rapper quote tweeted the video of Scheme’s set and wrote: “HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH.” No extra context needed, really. He was simply thrilled to see Drake getting disrespected in his own city.

ScHoolboy Q Had A Good Laugh Over The DJ Set

ScHoolboy Q previously criticized Drake and OVO for being sensitive about TDE artists being in Canada. When the rapper’s show was canceled, he immediately hopped on Twitter and vented. He said that OVO artists had no problem performing in California, so the same courtesy should be extended the other way. “TOP was just wit Wayne & Baby smH,” he wrote. “Partynextdoor just Had a sHow @ tHe palladium. If we wanted to get yall we would’ve just did it.. now wHen sumbody get Hurt don’t cry…” Debate raged on as to whether Drake was behind ScHoolboy Q’s cancelation, but it was eventually confirmed that the show was going to be at a venue partially ran by Drake.

Drake’s relationship with “Not Like Us” has been interesting over the last couple weeks. The rumor that the rapper banned the song from being played in Houston clubs was debunked. Fittingly, by the DJ who started it in the first place. Then, the 6 God posted a clip of an impersonator on his Instagram Story, and mocked him by using the “Not Like Us” line: “Sometimes you gotta pop out.” No word yet on whether DJ Scheme will face repercussions for playing the diss in Toronto. Either way, though ScHoolboy Q is having a great time watching things unfold.

Elliott Wilson Is Avoiding Drake And Toronto After Rick Ross Incident

Elliott Wilson used to have a solid relationship with Drake. He interview the rapper for his CRWN series in 2013, and again for Rap Radar in 2019. The latter is the most comprehensive interview the 6 God has had to date, in fact. Unfortunately, things have soured between the journalist and the hitmaker. Wilson’s very public critiques of Drake during the Kendrick Lamar battle have landed him on Drake’s no-fly list. In other words, Wilson is not welcome in Drake’s hometown of Toronto anytime soon. The journalist talked about this awkward situation during a recent appearance on BagFuel.

Elliott Wilson believes the Toronto ban is fair. “This is his country,” the journalist posited. “It should be respected, right.” He also reflected on the monopoly that Drake has with regards to Canadian hip-hop. It’s something Wilson noticed as soon as the rapper became successful. “I remember the first OVO fest,” the journalist recalled. “When he brought [JAY-Z] and Eminem out, it’s like you gotta go to his country, with your passport and sh*t.” Wilson knew that the experience signified a major change in hip-hop, and acted accordingly. “This is big,” he admitted. “So yes, if I’m not cool with him… I don’t feel comfortable going to Toronto.”

Elliott Wilson Still Has Respect For Drake As An Artist

Elliott Wilson clarified that he didn’t fear for his safety, but wanted to respect Drake’s territory. He went on to admit that obsessive fans can sometimes be more dangerous than the artists and their entourages. “It could be fans nowadays,” he posited. “They thirsty and crazy. This Trumpian type era of n**gas. I don’t want that cornball sh*t.” This is not the first time Elliott Wilson has discussed his falling out with Drizzy. He revealed that the rapper unfollowed him on social media after he criticized the song “The Heart Part 6.”

Elliott Wilson also talked about his so-called “Toronto ban” during an appearance on the Bigger Picture podcast. He admitted that he was disappointed to see his relationship with the Toronto rapper go by the wayside. “I got my emotions about it,” he admitted. “But look it’s hard… That’s my guy, I respect him. You develop these connections with them, and then you have to manage these relationships and it’s ups and downs with that.” Hopefully the two men will be able to squash their differences down the line.

Drake & 50 Cent Link Up In Toronto

Throughout Drake’s infamous feud with Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent had his back, supporting tracks like “Push Ups,” “Family Matters,” and even “Taylor Made Freestyle.” For this reason, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that the duo decided to link up during Fif’s recent visit to Drake’s hometown of Toronto. Late last night, Drizzy took to his Instagram Story to share a photo of the two of them. Needless to say, they appeared to be in good spirits.

Of course, Drake and 50 Cent have quite a few things in common. For example, they both have had their fair share of issues with Rick Ross. Ross jumped in amid the aforementioned lyrical battle, dropping a diss track called “Champagne Moments.” On it, he accused Drake of getting plastic surgery, called him “white boy,” and more.

Drake Shares New Photo With 50 Cent After Toronto Show

Ross went on to perform in Vancouver last month, and decided to troll Drake by having his DJ play “Not Like Us.” This didn’t go over well, as he and his crew were promptly jumped by alleged Drake fans. 50 Cent proceeded to clown Rozay mercilessly for this with various social media posts, dubbing Ross’ infamous exit “THE GREAT ESCAPE.” This only continued when Fif started to tour in Canada days after the brawl and made several jokes about it onstage.

The beef seems to have died down for the time being, but that doesn’t mean Drake is done dropping music. DJ Akademiks recently revealed that he plans to get back to giving fans “what they love” from him, though it remains unclear when they can expect to hear it. What do you think of Drake linking up with 50 Cent in Toronto? Are you surprised or not? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Clown Drake With Kendrick Lamar Meme After Their Toronto Shows

We’re never, ever, ever going to hear the end of the whole Kendrick Lamar and Drake rap beef, are we? Moreover, even some massive rock bands are hopping on the fun, so this could very much be a pop culture mainstay for the foreseeable future. The Red Hot Chili Peppers recently celebrated their run of Toronto shows and thanked their fans in the city for a great time. Sounds innocent enough, right? Well, they chose to do so by putting a picture of K.Dot waving goodbye in the “Not Like Us” music video on their Instagram Story, so they couldn’t resist showing the 6ix love by teasing them at least a little bit as proud Los Angeles band mates.

Furthermore, this comes amid rumors that Drake will reignite the Kendrick Lamar feud through some subliminal shots on a future release. Given just how much the 6ix God sends sneak disses out, was this really a surprising speculative theory to anyone who came across DJ Akademiks’ recent remarks on it? Nevertheless, it will definitely be interesting to see how both MCs reference their battle, if at all, in future material. Either way, fans will definitely comb each and every syllable looking for possible escalations.

Red Hot Chili Peppers Plant Their Flag In The Kendrick Lamar & Drake Beef

What’s more is that some recent developments might suggest that the Drake and Kendrick Lamar beef is affecting other artists directly. For example, you’ve probably heard all the conspiracies around ScHoolboy Q’s canceled Toronto show and how Drizzy might’ve played a role in shutting it down. This is all just speculative, so take it with a grain of salt, but there’s actually some relatively indicative information that there could be some shady stuff at play. The biggest indicator of this, ironically enough, is the Toronto superstar’s IG Story after news of this broke.

Meanwhile, other corners of pop culture have more interesting reactions and assessments of the whole beef. Steph Curry is one celebrity who’s already tired of “Not Like Us,” whereas others like LeBron James are still loving it. We’ll see whether or not Drake has anything else to directly add to this situation, or if he has smoke for the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Will Anthony Kiedis have some bars for Aubrey?

ScHoolboy Q’s Canceled Toronto Show Was At Venue Reportedly Ran By Drake & Live Nation

ScHoolboy Q’s canceled Toronto show has been the talk of the hip-hop town for the past day or so, and for very good reason. Moreover, there’s a lot of speculation and discourse right now surrounding this situation, especially his claims that Canadian police don’t want anyone from TDE performing. Of course, this is notable thanks to Drake’s Kendrick Lamar beef, with the main conspiracy theory at play being that the West Coast isn’t welcome in the 6ix and that OVO is pulling strings to sabotage them. Furthermore, the Instagram page description of HISTORY, the venue where Q was supposed to perform, says that it’s in collaboration between Live Nation and Drizzy, further fueling this accusation.

Still, this is too vague and unclear to really tell whether or not Drake is responsible for this, but it’s certainly an interesting idea. “THey just cancelled my sHow in TORONTO [crying-laughing emoji]… CANADIAN POLICE DONT WANT NOBODY FROM TDE PERFORMING..” ScHoolboy Q had tweeted. “TOP was just wit Wayne & Baby smH partynextdoor just Had a sHow @ tHe palladium. if we wanted to get yall we would’ve just did it.. now wHen sumbody get Hurt don’t cry… Actually I get it.. Nvm tHis s**t Lokey Hilarious… Iono wHy dot put me in tHat f***ing video.
