ScHoolboy Q Hilariously Trolls Drake After DJ Plays “Not Like Us” In Toronto

Toronto’s stance on the Drake vs. Kendrick Lamar battle has been a recent talking point. Drake’s hometown has not been welcoming to those who took Lamar’s side in the battle. Rick Ross was attacked during a recent stop in TO. ScHoolboy Q, meanwhile, claimed that the Canadian tour of his Blue Lips tour was canceled. Well, Q seemingly gotten payback against Drizzy on July 29. ScHoolboy Q got to sit back and watch as a DJ blasted the Drake diss “Not Like Us” on a Toronto stage. Better yet, the same stage that the TDE rapper was supposed to perform on a few weeks prior.

DJ Scheme was the man behind the “Not Like Us” needle drop. He decided to throw on the iconic Drake diss during his Toronto set, and surprisingly, it rang off. The footage of Scheme’s set list shows that fans were more than game to sing along to Kendrick Lamar’s rhymes. The fact that the DJ got away with this would have been enough to elicit discourse, but then ScHoolboy Q chimed in. The rapper quote tweeted the video of Scheme’s set and wrote: “HAHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHH.” No extra context needed, really. He was simply thrilled to see Drake getting disrespected in his own city.

ScHoolboy Q Had A Good Laugh Over The DJ Set

ScHoolboy Q previously criticized Drake and OVO for being sensitive about TDE artists being in Canada. When the rapper’s show was canceled, he immediately hopped on Twitter and vented. He said that OVO artists had no problem performing in California, so the same courtesy should be extended the other way. “TOP was just wit Wayne & Baby smH,” he wrote. “Partynextdoor just Had a sHow @ tHe palladium. If we wanted to get yall we would’ve just did it.. now wHen sumbody get Hurt don’t cry…” Debate raged on as to whether Drake was behind ScHoolboy Q’s cancelation, but it was eventually confirmed that the show was going to be at a venue partially ran by Drake.

Drake’s relationship with “Not Like Us” has been interesting over the last couple weeks. The rumor that the rapper banned the song from being played in Houston clubs was debunked. Fittingly, by the DJ who started it in the first place. Then, the 6 God posted a clip of an impersonator on his Instagram Story, and mocked him by using the “Not Like Us” line: “Sometimes you gotta pop out.” No word yet on whether DJ Scheme will face repercussions for playing the diss in Toronto. Either way, though ScHoolboy Q is having a great time watching things unfold.

Elliott Wilson used to have a solid relationship with Drake. He interview the rapper for his CRWN series in 2013, and again for Rap Radar in 2019. The latter is the most comprehensive interview the 6 God has had to date, in fact. Unfortunately, things have soured between the journalist and the hitmaker. Wilson’s very public critiques of Drake during the Kendrick Lamar battle have landed him on Drake’s no-fly list. In other words, Wilson is not welcome in Drake’s hometown of Toronto anytime soon. The journalist talked about this awkward situation during a recent appearance on BagFuel.

Elliott Wilson believes the Toronto ban is fair. “This is his country,” the journalist posited. “It should be respected, right.” He also reflected on the monopoly that Drake has with regards to Canadian hip-hop. It’s something Wilson noticed as soon as the rapper became successful. “I remember the first OVO fest,” the journalist recalled. “When he brought [JAY-Z] and Eminem out, it’s like you gotta go to his country, with your passport and sh*t.” Wilson knew that the experience signified a major change in hip-hop, and acted accordingly. “This is big,” he admitted. “So yes, if I’m not cool with him… I don’t feel comfortable going to Toronto.”

Elliott Wilson clarified that he didn’t fear for his safety, but wanted to respect Drake’s territory. He went on to admit that obsessive fans can sometimes be more dangerous than the artists and their entourages. “It could be fans nowadays,” he posited. “They thirsty and crazy. This Trumpian type era of n**gas. I don’t want that cornball sh*t.” This is not the first time Elliott Wilson has discussed his falling out with Drizzy. He revealed that the rapper unfollowed him on social media after he criticized the song “The Heart Part 6.”

Elliott Wilson also talked about his so-called “Toronto ban” during an appearance on the Bigger Picture podcast. He admitted that he was disappointed to see his relationship with the Toronto rapper go by the wayside. “I got my emotions about it,” he admitted. “But look it’s hard… That’s my guy, I respect him. You develop these connections with them, and then you have to manage these relationships and it’s ups and downs with that.” Hopefully the two men will be able to squash their differences down the line.

50 Cent trolled Rick Ross while performing in Toronto, Canada over the weekend, bringing up the viral video of him getting into an altercation with fans in the country. “I want to take the time out to thank you for making me feel so at home, because some of y’all kicked Rick Ross’ ass, right,” 50 remarked. “So I wanna thank you again for making me feel so at home.” A video of the moment has been going viral on social media.

When XXL posted the clip, fans had plenty of jokes in response. “He’s just happy someone did something to Ross,” one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote. “50 will take any win he can get.” Another fan joked: “Ross has to buy all the fast-food restaurant in his area and stop delivering to him that will show him.”

On Sunday, 50 posted on X that he’s got something in the works with Drake, who has been feuding with Ross in recent months. “Brain [brain emoji] storming last night me and @Drake gonna get the [camera emoji] rolling biggest ting on your TV GLG GreenLightGang,” he captioned a photo of himself posing with the Toronto rapper. He didn’t provide any further insight into what the TV project will be.

Throughout Drake’s infamous feud with Kendrick Lamar, 50 Cent had his back, supporting tracks like “Push Ups,” “Family Matters,” and even “Taylor Made Freestyle.” For this reason, it doesn’t come as a huge surprise that the duo decided to link up during Fif’s recent visit to Drake’s hometown of Toronto. Late last night, Drizzy took to his Instagram Story to share a photo of the two of them. Needless to say, they appeared to be in good spirits.

Of course, Drake and 50 Cent have quite a few things in common. For example, they both have had their fair share of issues with Rick Ross. Ross jumped in amid the aforementioned lyrical battle, dropping a diss track called “Champagne Moments.” On it, he accused Drake of getting plastic surgery, called him “white boy,” and more.

Ross went on to perform in Vancouver last month, and decided to troll Drake by having his DJ play “Not Like Us.” This didn’t go over well, as he and his crew were promptly jumped by alleged Drake fans. 50 Cent proceeded to clown Rozay mercilessly for this with various social media posts, dubbing Ross’ infamous exit “THE GREAT ESCAPE.” This only continued when Fif started to tour in Canada days after the brawl and made several jokes about it onstage.

The beef seems to have died down for the time being, but that doesn’t mean Drake is done dropping music. DJ Akademiks recently revealed that he plans to get back to giving fans “what they love” from him, though it remains unclear when they can expect to hear it. Well, they chose to do so by putting a picture of K.Dot waving goodbye in the “Not Like Us” music video on their Instagram Story, so they couldn’t resist showing the 6ix love by teasing them at least a little bit as proud Los Angeles band mates.

Furthermore, this comes amid rumors that Drake will reignite the Kendrick Lamar feud through some subliminal shots on a future release. ScHoolboy Q’s canceled Toronto show has been the talk of the hip-hop town for the past day or so, and for very good reason. Moreover, there’s a lot of speculation and discourse right now surrounding this situation, especially his claims that Canadian police don’t want anyone from TDE performing. Of course, this is notable thanks to Drake’s Kendrick Lamar beef, with the main conspiracy theory at play being that the West Coast isn’t welcome in the 6ix and that OVO is pulling strings to sabotage them. Furthermore, the Instagram page description of HISTORY, the venue where Q was supposed to perform, says that it’s in collaboration between Live Nation and Drizzy, further fueling this accusation.

It was a bit of a surprising turn of events, although Q blamed it on Canadian police. Needless to say, theories about the Kendrick Lamar beef were running amock.

During the middle of the night, Drake took to his Instagram story, where he may or may not have offered his commentary on the situation. Below, you can see that he simply posted a photo of himself with a t-shirt that says “Free Yayo.” As for the actual Q situation, there was no direct response.

Last night was not particularly fun for ScHoolboy Q. Overall, this is due to the fact that he was unable to perform in Toronto, Canada. ScHoolboy Q Blasts OVO For Not Allowing TDE Artists In Toronto

ScHoolboy Q is not happy. The TDE rapper was slated to perform in Toronto, but was allegedly kept from doing so. In response to this last-minute decision, Q hopped on Twitter and criticized the Canadian city for discriminating against his label. He not only accused Toronto of keeping TDE artists out, but hinted at some larger problems between the label and Drake’s OVO crew. ScHoolboy Q also alluded to there being consequences if this so-called sensitive behavior continued.

The Twitter rant took place on July 17. ScHoolboy Q made it clear that he was angry over the cancelation of his show, and called out Canadian police directly. “THey just canceled by sHow in Toronto,” he wrote. “Canadian police don’t want nobody from TDE performing.” The real bombshell, however, came in the subsequent tweet. Q claimed that everything was good between TDE and Drake’s parent label, Young Money. He claimed that Anthony “Top Dawg” Tiffith was actually hanging out with Birdman and Weezy recently. “Top was just wit Wayne and Baby smH,” he angrily typed. ScHoolboy Q also noted that OVO artist PARTYNEXTDOOR played at the Palladium in Los Angeles without any trouble.

ScHoolboy Q Warned OVO To Tread Carefully

After venting about the various ways in which the beef has been settled, ScHoolboy Q got aggressive. He made it known that if TDE had plans to do something to Drake and OVO, they would have done it already. “If we wanted to get y’all we would’ve just did it,” he tweeted. The last part of the message took on a more ominous tone, with the rapper seemingly warning OVO of potential problems to come. “Now wHen sumbody get Hurt don’t cry…” he concluded. ScHoolboy Q was never involved in the Kendrick Lamar and Drake beef, but he made it clear which side he was on from day one.

He voiced his support for Lamar, his former label mate, on social media. He also performed alongside the rapper at the legendary “Pop Out” show on Juneteenth. ScHoolboy Q and Dot rapped “Collard Greens” together. Q was also one of the people who posed for the iconic black-and-white photo taken at the end of the concert.
