If there’s anyone you can always count on to body a feature, it’s 21 Savage. The Atlanta-based rhymer has worked with artists like Drake, Post Malone, Nas, Travis Scott, J. Cole, and countless others throughout his career. With so many hit songs already released to the public, it’s hard not to wonder what the Saint Laurent Don has sitting in his back pocket. On Friday (May 26), Toosii gave us an idea of what we’ve been missing out on. At the time, he teased an unreleased collaboration between him and the Savage Mode hitmaker.
As HipHopDX reports, the 44-second long snippet is more than enough to pique fans’ interest. “I’m Mr. Get Out on Feet, 21 / He tried to run through the cut — boy, where you goin’?” Savage raps as the clip shared on Toosii’s Instagram Story begins. “Get hawked down the street, 21 / Glock with a switch, hit a n*gga with a left hook, right hook, Muhammad Ali,” the UK-born artist continues, comparing himself to one of the world’s most well-known boxers.
His impressive bars only continue with, “On God, if you ain’t signing no major, you better off not even askin’ my fee / Straight up / That shit a couple hundred G’s, 21 / He a pussy cat like Garfield, stick make a n*gga do a cartwheel.” It remains unclear if Toosii plans to share the single officially. Still, it certainly would be a perfect follow-up to his recent collaboration with Future. The pair came together to remix the former’s “Favorite Song,” putting together the “Toxic Version” as only Hendrix can.
Aside from that, the New York native has also given us “Magic Potion” in 2023, following his Boys Don’t Cry project last year. He later expanded that with the Boys Don’t Cry: Men Do edition, featuring five new songs, all of which have only helped to grow the multi-talent’s audience. Praised for his honest lyrics and catchy hooks, Toosii’s unique sound has garnered the artist critical acclaim. Fans patiently await the rapper’s sophomore album, Naujour, which is scheduled to be released soon. Get to know the SCMG (South Coast Music Group) artist, Toosii.
Background
Toosii is a rapper from Raleigh, North Carolina. Originally born and raised in Syracuse, New York, Toosii relocated to Raleigh when he was a teen. The artist has been making music since that time. It was during these years that Toosii became the most inspired.
“When I moved to North Carolina, I fell in love with music,” said Toosii in an interview with Flaunt. “I really started paying attention to it. Things finally started settling down and I was still going through stuff, so I used music as a way to cope with everything I was going through.”
Toosii first started recording and taking his rap career seriously at the age of 16. During high school, Toosii would use rap to escape issues while playing football. The rapper’s stage name comes from his childhood nickname of “Toota,” which he changed to Toosii after his football teammates said it as a joke.
Toosii’s music is heavily influenced by his upbringing in Raleigh, which is known for its vibrant hip-hop scene. He often raps about his experiences growing up in the city and how it shaped him into the artist he is today. In the beginning, Toosii was influenced by his father and brother, who encouraged him to follow his dreams. Today, Toosii has become one of the most popular rappers from North Carolina. The artist also currently has over a billion combined global streams to his record!
Big Break & SCMG
In 2019, Toosii got his first big break when SCMG discovered him. He would sign with the label, resulting in the release of three successful projects. This includes the mixtapes, Who Dat and Platinum Heartand the album Poetic Pain. Platinum Heart would reach No. 1 on the Billboard Heatseekers Album chart upon the album’s initial release. The 17-track album Poetic Pain debuted at No. 17 on the Billboard 200 chart.
“Honestly, it seemed fast because I’m here now,” said Toosii. “I didn’t notice stuff happening because it’s happening to me. It seems I’ve been living like this my whole life, but I haven‘t. I used to be homeless, sleeping out of a car. Now I got my 5-bedroom house, $140K car, jewelry. It hasn’t registered, it all feels fake.”
Toosii would later sign with Capitol Records shortly after releasing his official video for “Love Cycle,” featuring Summer Walker. The Recording Industry Association of America certified the song as a Gold single. Toosii was also featured in the 2021 XXL Freshman Class alongside Flo Milli, Pooh Shiesty, and 42 Dugg.
Social Media
Being the maker of a viral hit, Toosii’s success is also reflected in his social media. The rapper’s TikTok account has over 52.8 million likes and 3.7 million followers. His Instagram also does numbers, sitting at just over 4 million followers. In 2022, the rapper took a temporary break from social media. He would do so after denouncing fame on his Instagram account.
“F*** this fame s***,” wrote Toosii on his Instagram Story. “Y’all could have it. This s### [is] lame. People love you then they hate you. I should’ve never even started rapping for y’all. I should’ve just kept my music to myself like I did in the beginning to cope with my problems.” Thankfully for fans, the artist would continue his hit-making ways instead of calling it quits.
What’s Next For Toosii?
With the upcoming album, Naujour, scheduled for an early June release, fans are close to hearing the long-awaited album. Being in the works for years, the album was first teased to fans in early 2022. According to the album’s tracklist, it will feature artists such as 21 Savage, Wallo 267, and Future. The album will contain 19 tracks, including the “Favorite Song Toxic Remix” as a bonus track. Fans are looking forward to the mix of hard-hitting bars, soulful melodies, and heartfelt lyrics they’ve come to expect from the rapper-singer. With many successful projects already under his belt, fans can’t help but be excitedly waiting to see what the artist does next.
Toosii’s “Favorite Song” single has already seen the growth of its success, making its way onto the Billboard charts. To celebrate and give back to the fans who boosted it, he has dropped a new “Toxic Version” remix of the song that features Future. (It also follows the first remix he did with Khalid.)
Just as the update describes, Future’s verse finds himself detailing a toxic relationship. While it keeps Toosii’s original intro with Tatiana Manaois, Future tackles the first verse after the chorus.
“These b*tches too smart to compete with you (Smart) / I’ma leave her right now if she mention you,” he notes. See you tired of me constantly hurtin’ you / Feel like true love is the virtue / Can’t deny I bring out the best in you.”
Despite the ups and downs and the chaotic vibes, he still is holding out hope in the name of true love.
Next week, Toosii is set to perform the track solo during the season finale of The Voice on May 23. All remixes of the song, and the original version, will also be included on the rapper’s upcoming album, Naujour.

There’s plenty of new music to get into this Friday (May 19), including singles from Post Malone, Juice WRLD, and H.E.R., as well as a long-awaited R&B EP from Summer Walker. A few of our favourites have hopped on remixes with rising artists as well, such as Snoop Dogg’s work with Scar Lip on “This Is Cali,” and Future’s appearance on Toosii’s “Favorite Song.” In his usual fashion, the Atlanta native chiefly put a toxic twist on the popular track.
“These bitches too smart to compete with you / I’ma leave her right now if she mention you,” Hendrix begins his verse. “Only f*ckin’ on her just to get to you / Only f*ckin’ on her ’cause we’re missin’ you,” he later assures his lover. For his part, Toosii sadly sings on the chorus, “I’m on the stage right now, singin’ your favorite song / Look in the crowd, and you’re nowhere to be found as they sing along.”

The original version of “Favorite Song” first landed back in February, and has since gone on to become a fan favourite within Toosii’s discography. It was produced by ADELSO and Tatiana Manaois (via a sample previously taken from 2022’s “You Might As Well”) and marks a continuation of the 23-year-old’s undeniably hot R&B streak with other singles like “Magic Potion,” Heartaches,” and “Love Is…”
Prior to releasing his latest hit, the New Yorker teased it on TikTok, at which time listeners immediately fell in love and demanded its release. They’ve since shown plenty of support, racking up over 66 million streams on DSPs. For Toosii‘s brand new remix of his already Top 20 hit, “Favorite Song,” he brought Khalid along for the ride this time.
“I’m on the stage right now / Singing your favorite song,” Toosii notes in the chorus, which they sing together. “Look in the crowd / And you’re nowhere to be found as they sing along.”
“Now you’re right back where you started / And it hit me the most / ‘Cause I care for you and that’s how it goes / And I’m there for you like nobody knows / Since the day I met you, I told you, I won’t turn back / I’m locked in forever and, baby, I promise that,” Khalid adds in his individual verse.
“I’m excited to have Khalid join me on this track,” Toosii said about the collaboration, according to Hypebeast. “He has such a dope and unique voice and I think it really takes an already amazing song to the next level. I’ve been wanting to collab with him on the right track for a while and I think we picked the perfect one.”
Toosii’s new album, Naujour, is also set to drop this summer — with this remix potentially finding its way onto the tracklist.

Toosii is one of the newest rappers dominating social media. Even if you aren’t familiar with his music, you should know his name thanks to Drake’s 2020 track, “Toosie Slide.” Since then, the Syracuse, New York native has dropped his debut studio album, Poetic Pain, and a string of singles, including “Sapiosexual” (watch his UPROXX Sessions performance of the song here).
In a creative industry, it is only natural to pull inspiration from those acts around you. But, when Uproxx’s Cherise Johnson caught up with the entertainer at Rolling Loud California, he wasn’t shy about sharing his unwavering obsession with his own music. When asked about his favorite songs, he named only his past releases instead of naming other musicians. You should expect nothing else from the rapper.
Atop the list is his song, “Favorite Song.” During his performance, the song was clearly beloved by his concertgoing fans as well. Originally released in mid-February, “Favorite Song” debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot Rap songs and No. 17 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs charts. Last week (March 4), the song debuted at No. 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Rolling Loud is the festival where rappers go to make a controversial statements. Sometimes it doesn’t go over well. Hi, DaBaby. Other times, due to technical hiccups, it falls flat on the sea of fans. Although it didn’t happen onstage during his performance, rapper Toosii let his opinions on modern dating spill out.
His romantic adventures are often at the center of his music, including on songs, “Keeper,” “Head Over Hills,” and “What I’m On.” When asked by Uproxx’s Cherise Johnson, does he split the bill on the first date his response might come as a shock to many. Especially, the red pill, alpha male, manosphere, podcast mic-owning “dating experts.”
His initial answer to the question posed was, “No. Hell no. We not splitting no bill for nothing. We ain’t splitting bills on the first date, second date, third date, or last date. No, none of that. She gonna pay for everything.”
But before you get upset by the rapper’s response, he ensures it is all just a joke. Watch his full response to the question below.
Outside of Toosii’s first date and financial expectation rules for intimate dating, check out his UPROXX Sessions performance of his single, “Sapiosexual” here.
Raleigh-bred artist Toosii has had enough of the insults when it comes to the LGBTQIA+ community. The rapper, who’s amassed over 500 million views across his YouTube channel, took to Instagram to defend his stance recently. While it’s not known what sparked the outburst, the Syracuse native mentioned attacks on us all in one late-night post. “I get on the internet everyday and see us attacking us. S**t getting overrated [one-hundred emoji],” Toosii tweeted yesterday evening.
At the beginning of the now-viral clip, the man behind “Magic Potion” warns viewers he’s unbothered by their commentary. “It is what it is at the end of the day,” Toosii continues. He then begins to deliver a speech about those who call others gay as a form of insult. “If being straight [is] not an insult, why is being gay an insult?,” the 23-year-old challenges. “You’re trying to use calling a person gay as an insult. Them is the motherf***ers that really need to be attacked, feel me?”
Toosii Takes Up For Those Called Gay As An Insult
As responses rolled in from both sides of the debate, Toosii retweeted @SaycheeseDGTL’s repost with a few more words of his own. Commenters under their tweet were noticeably negative, with a majority of them proving his point. One tweeter tells him to shut his “pandering a** up. You sound suspect as hell!” In response to this, a Toosii supporter says the user should seek therapy as their “sexuality must be EXTREMELY fragile!” Another commentator mentions “The replies speak volumes” as others continue to hurl homosexual allegations toward the star. “[Thumbs down emoji] [The] comment section lame…,” Toosii began before confirming his own sexuality. “Shout out to the LGBTQ community be ya self! And this coming from a STRAIGHT MAN. I send my love to everybody I don’t got a hating bone in my body!”
Toosii then went on to celebrate his first Billboard entry for “Favorite Song,” which sits at No. 51 on the Hot 100 Chart. According to the site, the track has garnered over 9.7 million streams since its release. TikTokers have used the sped-up adaptation over 300,000 times thus far. “Favorite Song” follows Toosii’s 2022 deluxe EP, Boys Don’t Cry: Men Do.
Toosii’s first single of 2023, “Magic Potion,” arrived last month and has already amassed nearly 850K streams on Spotify alone. This New Music Friday (February 17), he’s following it up with a single that’s sure to become your “Favorite Song” in the near future.
The track boasts production by ADELSO and finds the recording artist getting vulnerable as he expresses his feelings about love. Across the nearly three-and-a-half-minute-long offering, the New Yorker lists off things that women typically love, like riding in the Wraith and going out on dates.
“You want somebody to come bring you flowers / Someone to talk to for hours / Wash your back while y’all sit in the shower,” he rhymes mid-way through the first verse. When the pre-chorus rolls around, Toosii croons about his love interest opening her heart to him. “Someone to tell you you’re beautiful / Someone to tell you and mean it.”
In a press release, the singer explains, “‘Favorite Song’ is about touching every dynamic of what a woman expects from a man. It’s a heart-throbbing, real-life, and motivational record. But yet a distinct song that is bound to be your favorite song.”
As Genius notes, the new arrival samples Tatiana Manaois’ “You Might As Well,” which previously premiered in November 2022. Toosii previously teased the track on TikTok and Instagram – since then fans have been eagerly awaiting its debut on DSPs. At the same time, the 23-year-old teased other titles like “Woo Lady,” “Another Love Song,” and “Georgia.”

Quotable Lyrics:
I’m on the stage right now, singin’ your favorite song Look in the crowd, and you’re nowhere to be found as they sing along I say, “You look good without no make-up, no lashes, even better when you wake up” (Oh, oh, oh)
