Young Guru Claims “I Told Y’all So” After AI Song Given Grammy Eligibility

With the Grammy eligibility window wrapping up soon there’s been a lot of discussion of the potential favorites and dark horse candidates for all the major awards. But snuck into the mix was a news story that surprised many fans and began dividing people online. “heart on my sleeve” is a song made by an artist called ghostwriter earlier this year. The track became controversial for using AI-generated versions of Drake and The Weeknd’s voices on the song. Surprisingly, the song was submitted for consideration for next year’s Grammy Awards. And perhaps even more surprisingly, it was deemed eligible.

Fans online had a variety of reactions to the news, but many from within the music industry are taking issue with the song’s award status. One of those is Young Guru who has warned fans about the future of AI music more than anybody. He first made a declaration about the dangers of the technology back in February when an AI-generated Kendrick Lamar track emerged. He described the song as “groundbreaking but dangerous moment” before many others were even talking about the potential future implications of AI.

Young Guru Speaks On AI Song’s Grammy Eligibility

Guru was also vocal about his stance when Timbaland claimed he was interested in the future cross-sections of AI and music. Guru warned him that the move was corny and that it has the potential to age very poorly. His most recent statement on AI came back in June where he gave a specific example. “When you take Big’s voice and you have him saying things that he would have never said, or it’s your interpretation or some other writer’s interpretation of what you think Big would have said, this kind of violates him and his legacy,” he said.

With the breaking news of an AI song potentially being able to win a Grammy, Guru took to his story. “Hate to say I told y’all but I told y’all. Now this could be up for a Grammy. SMH,” he said over a screenshot of the news. What do you think of Young Guru’s claiming he warned everyone about AI music? Let us know in the comment section below.

Kendrick Lamar’s Microphone Gives Out During “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” Performance With Beyonce

Kendrick Lamar and Beyonce are both seasoned pros when it comes to the art of performing. They reminded us of just that during the latter’s birthday concert in Los Angeles on Monday (September 4) night. Throughout the weekend, Queen B took over the stage at SoFi Stadium with a seriously impressive roster of guest openers. Among them were Doechii, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz. For her final show in California, the mother of three brought Compton native Kendrick Lamar out to body their “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM (Remix),” though they were unfortunately met with some technical difficulties.

As XXL Mag reports, when it was the DAMN. hitmaker’s turn to rap his verse, his microphone appeared to cut out. Issues like this have been happening frequently for artists. Most recently we’ve been reporting on 50 Cent’s ongoing mic-throwing lawsuit. The synchronicity is likely due to the ongoing Mercury Retrograde, which is known to cause issues with communication. It’s unclear if Lamar wasn’t aware that his sound wasn’t coming through, or if he continued performing anyway to avoid ruining the moment. Still, the video below shows him hitting every word while Bey dances beside him.

Beyonce Entertains Her Audience Amid Kendrick Lamar’s Technical Difficulties

If the birthday girl took note of Lamar’s audio issues (which were resolved by the latter half of his verse), then she certainly did her part to keep us entertained. In her iconic bee costume, the “Halo” singer dropped it low and even slipped in some Vogueing moves. Overall it appears as though she had a memorable time celebrating her special day with friends and fans. The Grammy Award winner will be taking a few days to rest before she heads up north to Canada to take over BC Place on September 11.

Elsewhere in the world of Kung-Fu Kenny, he sat down with Tems for Interview Magazine to discuss some burning topics ahead of her album’s arrival. While the Nigerian starlet dished on some of her earliest musical inspirations, Kendrick Lamar got candid about some of the best wisdom he’s picked up from 50 Cent. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

PinkyDoll “Light Skin Fishing” Accusations Fly After 2023 Streamy Awards Appearance

Usually, when there’s discourse to unravel about someone altering the colour of their skin, it’s due to a white person attempting to take on a more Black persona. Alabama Barker is one person who’s often faced with accusations like this, though the teen continues to let them roll off her back as she moves forward in her hip-hop career. On the other end of the spectrum is PinkyDoll, who caused some serious commotion with her appearance at the 2023 Streamy Awards.

Viewers weren’t expecting to see the NPC content creator take the stage at the annual event, but she happily presented Kai Cenat with his well-deserved trophy. As per usual, PinkyDoll was dressed in her best, though many have noticed that her skin looks significantly darker in the video and photos captured at the Steamys than it does in her other social media posts. Many have confessed that they’ve always thought the Canadian is a “yellow bone,” when in reality, she’s a brown-skinned girl.

PinkyDoll Looks Noticeably Different During First Public Appearance

Some of those chiming in are of the opinion that altering her appearance is intentional on PinkyDoll’s part, perhaps in hopes of attracting a wider audience. “PinkyDoll using colourism to get the bag was an elite game plan,” one Twitter user reflected on Monday (August 28) evening. “Yes yes yes, brown skin so good,” they further joked.

“People been benefitting off blackfishing so I’m not even mad at PinkyDoll for doing the reverse,” someone else wrote in defense of the OnlyFans model. “Stop being colourist then.” Still, there are some who think it’s wrong of the 27-year-old to trick her audience like this.

Keep scrolling to see what Twitter users are saying about PinkyDoll’s first major public appearance at the 2023 Streamy Awards. Do you think the content creator is wrong for seemingly lightening the colour of her skin on camera with filters, or is the controversy not as deep as some are making it out to be? IShowSpeed Celebrates 20 Million Subscribers By Taking A Dive Into His Setup

IShowSpeed recently reached 20 million subscribers on YouTube, and he celebrated the milestone during a livestream. As he waited for his channel to finally hit 20 million, some of his supporters decided to start unsubscribing in order to troll the streamer. Luckily, he was eventually able to reach the coveted subscriber count, and chose to celebrate in a pretty unconventional way. He got up from his desk and climbed up onto a dresser that was situated against the wall behind him, delivering a dramatic message to his viewers.

“Goodbye chat,” he began, while standing on top of the dresser. “This is what y’all wanted. Never again. Remember – live to the fullest. Live to the greatest. You will be the one. Nobody loves you like how they did. That’s 20 million right there. And, that’s what I’m talking about. This is what we do. We presume and keep going. And, I love y’all boys.” He then shouts a couple of times as confetti is shot into the air, before taking a dive into his gaming setup.

IShowSpeed Hits 20 Million Subscribers

The stream then freezes on an image of the 22-year-old mid-jump for a few seconds. The webcam eventually cuts out, and the streamer is heard making some crying sounds. Someone then asks him if he’s okay, and when he doesn’t respond claims they’re going to call 911 before the stream ultimately ends. Though the jump was probably pretty painful, he appeared to be joking about actually being seriously injured, and is likely doing alright.

The milestone comes shortly after IShowSpeed made headlines earlier this month for accidentally exposing himself during a livestream. The incident was a clear breach of YouTube’s terms of service. Luckily, he was able to avoid being banned on the platform. He later addressed the incident, calling it “embarrassing” and revealing that it’s had a negative impact on his mental health. “At the end of the day, I’m still a human being, bro,” he told his audience. Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on IShowSpeed.

Pusha T Targeted By Bots, Fans Think Drake Is Behind It

Pusha T has fallen victim to a barrage of bots on Twitter recently, that have now made thousands of bizarre posts about the performer. The countless posts feature fake claims, and typically strange edited images of him. Most of the posts are relatively harmless, while others are pretty derogatory. “Pusha T fled to Barcelona after getting caught sneaking feet pics of minors,” one of the posts reads. Another one says, “Pusha T reveals he wishes he was a salamander.

Though it remains unclear why exactly he was targeted, social media users have some guesses. Many suggest that Drake could be behind the strange posts, as they’re known to have beef. Many of the posts also include hashtags like #ScaredOfThe6 or the title of Drizzy’s upcoming album, #ForAllTheDogs. It’s not the first time the Canadian performer has been accused of having bots go after the rapper. Another swarm of bots targeted him just last month, and fans jokingly suggested that Drake was responsible.

Bots Make Fake Claims About Pusha T

It remains unconfirmed whether or not Drake is actually behind the slew of posts, and Pusha T has yet to address the situation publicly. Regardless, social media users appears to be getting pretty annoyed with the whole debacle. Luckily, however, it looks like the rapper doesn’t usually let hate get to him. In an interview with GQ earlier this month, he shared his perspective on those throwing negativity his way.

You have to look at who’s the talker,” he explained. “When you look at who’s the talker and you look at what they’ve done and who they are and what they offer to you, it’s funny. I’ve been in this game for a minute, and I’ve watched the game, and I’ve watched people at their highs and at their lows. And, mind you, most people are chasing things I’ve never chased in hip-hop.” Keep an eye on HNHH for more updates on Pusha T.

PlayStation Reveals Their SteamDeck Rival, The PlayStation Portal

PlayStation has revealed the PlayStation Portal, the company’s “remote play dedicated console.” Launched to rival Valve’s SteamDeck, the PlayStation Portal is a portable console with an 8-inch screen and wireless half-controllers. It works by linking to your existing PlayStation 5 library.

“Since launching PS5, we’ve been amazed to see how players around the world have embraced the generational leaps we made in the gaming experience, such as the heightened feeling of immersion delivered by the haptic feedback and adaptive triggers in the DualSense wireless controller. Our PlayStation community continues to give us a reason to challenge ourselves to bring new innovations to the market for all players to enjoy. That’s why today, we are especially pleased to share new updates about our upcoming hardware products,” the company said in a statement.

PlayStation Looks To Enter Portable Games Market

Now you may be thinking – didn’t PlayStation have a console many years ago? Yes, they did. It was totally not confusingly called the PlayStation Portable or PSP. That console launched in 2004 and was supported by PlayStation until they closed the PSP store in 2016. This new console, also referred to as the PSP, is more in line with the Remote Play consoles produced by Valve and Nintendo. According to the press statement, the console will retail for $199.99. However, has PlayStation waited too long to enter this market?

Industry experts believe that the SteamDeck will sell over 3 million units by the end of 2023. Meanwhile, Nintendo has sold over 129 million Switches as of the end of June 2023. The Switch is an all-in-one product, with its own dedicated shop and games. Additionally, the SteamDeck only relies on you having a free Steam account. From there, you are able to play any games that you have previously purchased. In contrast, the (new) PSP exclusively relies on you having working WiFi and also a PlayStation 5. The low price point may be appealing. However, it appears to be a very exclusive product that requires a high barrier to entry (i.e. having a PlayStation 5). PlayStation did not set a release date, simply saying that it would be launched later this year.

IShowSpeed Addresses Flashing Incident With Explosive On-Stream Rant

On August 16, controversial streamer IShowSpeed showed something quite different while playing Five Nights At Freddy’s. After being jumpscared by the character Chica, Speed had one of his trademark over-the-top reactions. “I wanna fuck you, Chica. Get this dick right up in you, baby,” the 18-year-old screamed, jumping up from his seat and violently thrusting his hips at his camera. This caused his penis to become dislodged from his shorts and become visible on camera for several seconds. Speed immediately ended his stream after seeing what had happened on his second monitor.

Despite the explicit incident, which led to a wave of jokes and mockery on social media, Speed avoided a ban from YouTube. Speaking with TMZ, a spokesperson for the video platform said that the incident was evidently an accident and that Speed had immediately deleted the VOD that contained the incident. However, Speed’s return to streaming on August 18 was marked by the content creator’s memorable addressing of the incident in question.

Speed Loses It On Stream

While formally addressing the incident, Speed turned his ire towards the individuals who continued to repost clips of the incident on social media. “Like bro, how the fuck would you fucking feel motherfucker?” he yelled, jumping out of his chair. “How the fk would you feel? How would you feel? Just because you didn’t have any clean fucking underwear? You had no clean underwear so you put on some goddamn pants! How would you feel?!”

Multiple comments in his stream chat telling him to “chill out” only appeared to enrage the Cincinnati-born streamer. “I’m sick of fucking chilling! You can’t chill! Don’t tell me to calm down. Every time I open up my phone…This is truly an embarrassing fucking moment for me. And lately, these past hours, I’ve been suffering mentally. At the end of the day, I’m still a human being, bro. As a streamer, this is one of your worst fears. It’s depressing, bro. You guys don’t know the feeling, bro. You guys are joking, you guys can crack your jokes, all of this, all of that. But y’all genuinely are not looking at the bigger picture.”

Blocking Users On Twitter/X No Longer Available, Elon Musk Announces

When Elon Musk first became the owner of Twitter in October 2022, we expected him to switch things up on the platform, as any new leader would. However, we certainly didn’t expect the X rebrand (which is still in the midst of unfolding), or the temporary daily limits on the number of tweets users are able to view in a day. For the most part, the platform after the South African’s takeover has become more frustrating and confusing to use, especially with the removal of automated verification for public figures.

On Friday (August 18), it was revealed that Musk’s next plans for Twitter/X could lead to more turmoil for users. “Block is going to be deleted as a ‘feature’, except for DMs,” he explained earlier this afternoon. According to him, the ability to ban other accounts from seeing your posts/set boundaries with others invading your online space “makes no sense.” Interestingly, the app’s former CEO, Jack Dorsey, was in agreement. “💯. mute only,” he wrote in response to the engineer. In the past, Elon’s predecessor has expressed frustration with the changes made to his website, but clearly, he’s still using his account.

Elon Musk Continues to Make Major Change at Twitter/X

The option that users will have is to mute other accounts, meaning that they can see your content, and even reply to it, but what they post won’t be visible to you. This will also hide the desired person’s tweets from your timeline without actually unfollowing them, as Variety notes. Musk’s motive in making such a dramatic change remains unclear at this time, but it’s already got concerned users speaking out about the dangers of not being able to shut down abusive behaviour.

Prior to bringing in more change on Twitter, Elon Musk gave an update on his highly anticipated fight against Mark Zuckerberg. Unfortunately, the former says things have come to a halt until the latter agrees upon a location for their match. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

IShowMeat Trends After IShowSpeed Flashing Incident

X/Twitter has a new favorite obsession after IShowSpeed’s August 16 stream. While streaming a Five Nights At Freddy’s game on YouTube, the controversial streamer reacted to a jumpscare by screaming and jumping up and down in front of his camera. Unfortunately for Speed, this inadvertently revealed his erect penis to his audience. Speed only appeared to realize this after seeing the footage on his second monitor, causing him to end his stream moments later.

The footage quickly went viral, being reposted numerous times on social media. While Speed has not been banned from YouTube at the time of writing, a ban feels inevitable. Among the major live-streaming platforms, YouTube has some of the strictest content rules relating to sexual content. And few things are more sexual than exposing your genitals live on stream to an audience primarily comprised of minors. Meanwhile, the trending topic “IShowMeat” quickly appeared on the Elon Musk-owned site.

Read More: Last-minute stream cancellation sparks concern from IShowSpeed’s audience

The trend is pretty self-explanatory. Meat is a colloquialism for penis, his name is IShowSpeed. It’s a middle-of-the-plate meatball pitch if ever there was one. While it’s a pretty easy joke to come to, it also appears to have been popularized after being used by streamer MoistCr1TiKaL during his recap of the situation. In another video, an individual utilizes photoshop to estimate how tall (in dicks) IShowSpeed is.

Furthermore, HotNewHipHop would like to address comments made in a previous article about the situation. In our original report on the incident, we said this:

And disturbingly hard for a dude playing a horror game about murder robots? Of course, Rule 34 absolutely applies to the FNAF franchise but is that something that Speed is into? Legally, we cannot give an answer to that question. But it is a question worth asking based on the footage.

Ben Mock for HotNewHipHop, August 16 2023

We can now confirm that yes, it is something that Speed is into. In the original video of the incident, the streamer can be heard saying “I wanna fuck you, Chica. Get this dick right up in you, baby.” Chica is the Five Nights At Freddy’s character that jumpscared Speed in the now-viral clip. This continues to be a developing story and we’ll have any updates as they emerge.
