Grimes Speaks Out After Mortifying Coachella Set Riddled With Issues: “Plz Forgive Me!”

Grimes has shared a lengthy apology for her Coachella set from Saturday, which was riddled with technical difficulties. While things started off okay, she began explaining that things on her mixing desk weren’t working properly. In turn, she screamed into the mic several times and was visibly frustrated for the remainder of her time on stage while trying to troubleshoot the issue. Sunday morning, she spoke out about the incident in a lengthy tweet.

“I want to apologize for the technical issues with the show tonight,” she said. “I wanted to come back rly strong and usually I always handle every aspect of my show myself – to save time this was one of the first times I’ve outsourced essential things like rekordbox bpm’s and letting someone else organize the tracks on the sd card etc, I had a bad feeling beforehand not having run everything thru the cdjs myself and tho I flagged it I wasn’t insistent.” From there, she listed several lessons she learned from the incident.

Grimes added that things will be better for the next performance. “I will personally organize all the files next week,” she promised. “I will not let such a thing happen again. I’ve spent months on this show, making music and visuals, and admittedly am not in the best mood atm. But, yeh – next week will be flawless, everything will run thru my hands. Some good lessons learned. Bless y’all. The cdjs were showing me bpms like 370 so I couldn’t even mix manually by ear and the front monitors were off so it was literally sonic chaos on my end trying to guess how stuff was sounding for u guys. Plz forgive me! Love, always.”

Doja Cat Hilariously Reacts To Mid-Show Technical Difficulties

Earlier this week Doja Cat began her Scarlet Tour and like many of the other big tours of 2023, it’s made nightly news so far. The first big announcement came a day before the tour even began. Doja announced that she was collaborating with Amazon to make her tour merch available to all fans, even those at home. She debuted an official Amazon store page where fans could get their hands on numerous pieces of Scarlet merch before they even show up for her concert.

Now, a hilarious video of an on-stage mishap from one of her tour shows had begun making the rounds online. Just as Doja is about to start performing her mega-hit “Kiss Me More” she realized her microphone cut out. Ever the professional, Doja manages to power through the beginning of the song maintaining the crowd’s excitement while also trying to quickly fix the mic herself. When she can’t figure it out the crowd takes over for her rapping the lyrics of the song themselves. They erupt in applause when a stagehand rushes out to give Doja a new working mix. Check out the full hilarious video below.

Doja Cat Shakes Off Technical Difficulties

Even though her album Scarlet just dropped Doja Cat has already used her tour to build up hype for forthcoming material. She and her opening act Doechii shared a video previewing an upcoming collaboration they made. Though details were light, the two will likely have something to perform together at tour stops very soon.

The second single from Scarlet, “Paint The Town Red” is Doja’s most recent smash hit. The song has spent three weeks at number one on the Hot 100 and spent the past two weeks at number two behind only Taylor Swift’s “Cruel Summer.” The song has likely already secured a spot on the year end Hot 100 chart. Just how high it will climb remains to be seen. What do you think of Doja Cat’s handling of her technical difficulties during a recent tour stop? Let us know in the comment section below.

Kendrick Lamar’s Microphone Gives Out During “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” Performance With Beyonce

Kendrick Lamar and Beyonce are both seasoned pros when it comes to the art of performing. They reminded us of just that during the latter’s birthday concert in Los Angeles on Monday (September 4) night. Throughout the weekend, Queen B took over the stage at SoFi Stadium with a seriously impressive roster of guest openers. Among them were Doechii, Lil Wayne, and 2 Chainz. For her final show in California, the mother of three brought Compton native Kendrick Lamar out to body their “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM (Remix),” though they were unfortunately met with some technical difficulties.

As XXL Mag reports, when it was the DAMN. hitmaker’s turn to rap his verse, his microphone appeared to cut out. Issues like this have been happening frequently for artists. Most recently we’ve been reporting on 50 Cent’s ongoing mic-throwing lawsuit. The synchronicity is likely due to the ongoing Mercury Retrograde, which is known to cause issues with communication. It’s unclear if Lamar wasn’t aware that his sound wasn’t coming through, or if he continued performing anyway to avoid ruining the moment. Still, the video below shows him hitting every word while Bey dances beside him.

Beyonce Entertains Her Audience Amid Kendrick Lamar’s Technical Difficulties

If the birthday girl took note of Lamar’s audio issues (which were resolved by the latter half of his verse), then she certainly did her part to keep us entertained. In her iconic bee costume, the “Halo” singer dropped it low and even slipped in some Vogueing moves. Overall it appears as though she had a memorable time celebrating her special day with friends and fans. The Grammy Award winner will be taking a few days to rest before she heads up north to Canada to take over BC Place on September 11.

Elsewhere in the world of Kung-Fu Kenny, he sat down with Tems for Interview Magazine to discuss some burning topics ahead of her album’s arrival. While the Nigerian starlet dished on some of her earliest musical inspirations, Kendrick Lamar got candid about some of the best wisdom he’s picked up from 50 Cent. Read more about that at the link below, and check back later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

Lupe Fiasco Brushes Off Technical Difficulties With A Freestyle

Technical difficulties are capable of completely derailing a show. Recently 50 Cent found himself so plagued by annoying technical shortcomings that he threw a microphone into the crowd. That throw of frustration landed him in some serious trouble as he’s being investigated as a battery suspect for the incident. But when Lupe Fiasco fell victim to some technical difficulties at a recent show he handled it differently.

In a new clip making the rounds online, Lupe shows just how creative he is with a freestyle to fill the space while some technical difficulties are sorted out. In the clip, his drummer plays him a simple beat and Lupe goes off over it. He spits a freestyle about how he arrived at the show that day and the performance he’s about to give. The chemistry between Lupe and his drummer and the performance itself is incredibly impressive given its impromptu. Check out the full clip below.

Lupe Fiasco Finds The Perfect Way To Fill Time

Lupe Fiasco has released five new singles so far this year. Most recently he showed up dazzling fans with his song “Roc-A-Fella Y’all,” back in July. The song was self-produced by Lupe and features nearly 5 full minutes of creative wordplay and hard-hitting bars. That followed CHANNEL No. 3 earlier that month. He began the year by releasing SentRock a cross-medium collaborative project with painter SentRock. The album art for the song was a painting specifically made to be paired with the track.

Last year Lupe Fiasco released his concept album DRILL MUSIC IN ZION. The 10-track album spawned a few of the rapper’s biggest songs in years like “GHOTI” and “AUTOBOTO” with Nayirah. It was his first new album since 2018 when he released the second project in his “DROGAS” series DROGAS WAVE. What do you think of Lupe Fiasco pulling out a great freestyle for fans after his show had some technical difficulties? Let us know in the comment section below.

Beyonce Experiences Technical Difficulties On “Renaissance” Tour Stop

It’s rare that an entire tour goes by without some hiccups along the way. So far across both the European and North American legs of Beyonce’s Renaissance tour, she’s maintained consistency from a technical standpoint. One of the tour’s first viral slip-ups came last night during a show in Arizona. In the middle of a song she was performing, Bey’s mic cut out completely. Unsurprisingly, she was a consummate professional continuing her performance.

The technical error resulted in a 10-minute delay in the show, which fans didn’t seem to mind all that much. They chanted her name during much of the downtime between songs. Most of the reactions were about what Queen B herself may think. “Beyoncé is gonna fire everyone. From the production to the stadium staff. Even the football players that use it. They’re all fired,” one fan said on Twitter. Given how locked down the tour has been up to this point, it’s hard to imagine much coming from this one slip-up.

Beyonce Shakes Off Technical Difficulties

Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour has been impressive for reasons even beyond its consistent lack of tech issues. Across 11 shows in the month of July, she broke Bad Bunny’s record for highest grossing tour in a single month. That announcement came just a few weeks after she broke another record. That record saw her achieving the highest-grossing single show by a female soloist ever. She recently took to her Instagram story to ask fans to wear shimmering silver clothes to every show during Virgo season.

During a recent series of shows in Atlanta, celebs and fellow musicians showed up in spades. Chloe x Halle, Quavo, Summer Walker, 21 Savage, and more took the opportunity to see the queen perform in Atl. They’re only the most recent in a long series of celebs to turn out to Renaissance tour stops dating all the way back to her performances across Europe earlier this year. What do you think of Beyonce’s handling of technical difficulties during a recent show? Let us know in the comment section below.

Lil Nas X “Didn’t Want To Perform” After Tech Issues At Governors Ball

Despite concerns over air quality, New York’s Governors Ball music festival still took place over the weekend. While plenty of artists had great performances, Lil Nas X struggled with technical difficulties throughout. The “Industry Baby” rapper took the stage on Sunday in Flushing Meadows Corona Park. Unfortunately, shortly into the set he started experiencing technical difficulties and had to take a 10-minute delay. According to Page Six, the technical issues carried on throughout the show.

Their source claims that Lil Nas X performed “very begrudgingly” following the issues. They also report that dancers practically “had to carry the show” as Nas X’s mic had continual problems. He was reportedly excited to perform before the show started but quickly got frustrated. “There were a lot of logistics that were off, and it all accumulated onstage when the mic wasn’t working,” their inside source reports. Though neither Lil Nas X or Governors Ball had any comment on the performance, it seems like everyone agreed it could be better.

Nas wasn’t the only artist making headlines for his Governors Ball set. After his performance, Kendrick Lamar closed out the whole festival with an extravagant show. He left fans with a message that he would “be back” which sparked plenty of discourse online about what he meant. Fans also seemed to adore Ice Spice’s set where the rapidly ascending star unpacked all her most well-known songs in an adorable jean fit.

Lil Nas X has been silent when it comes to new music so far this year. His most recent new release is still the League Of Legends-affiliated single “STAR WALKIN’” from last year. With his debut album MONTERO turning two in a few months fans have been begging for news on when new music may come. Earlier this year he posted a Twitter thread explaining some plans for a new album. Though with the superstar’s common social media antics, it’s hard to know when exactly he means what he says.

Bad Bunny’s Headlining Coachella Set Brings Out Post Malone, But Faces Tech Issues

Bad Bunny is sure to be one of the highlights of this year’s iteration of Coachella, even though this weekend’s set had some small issues. Moreover, the Boricua superstar gave fans a lengthy and expansive collection of some of his greatest hits, as he tends to do. However, for his performance’s acoustic portion, he was joined in stage by none other than Post Malone, who played “LA CANCIÓN” and “Yonaguni” on his guitar. Despite crowd excitement, it slightly put a damper on the show’s momentum and mood because the guitar and microphone weren’t working properly.

Regardless, the two seemed to have a great time on stage together, despite neither of them being able to understand each other well. In fact, when Bunny first saw Post, he asked him what he was doing here, as he forgot Malone got called to perform. Overall, it was slightly frustrating because there were a lot more songs to go, and the delay with tech issues wasn’t helping. Even though that was a hiccup, it was still a strangely cool moment to see Benito and the “rockstar” artist link up, and for the crowd to sing a cappella to them. Also, the show went on with no further pauses or issues, and was already going great for the “Bichiyal” MC.

Post Malone Pops Out

Another curious moment during the show was Bad Bunny’s speech on people not really knowing famous celebrities. To sum it up, he basically said that he saw something online that really riled him up that, while he didn’t give any details, apparently has to do with him regretting something. Given Bad’s tabloid presence due to his relationship with Kendall Jenner, fans wondered whether that was a factor. No matter what he talked about, the takeaway for fans was to only believe something when they hear it out of his mouth.

Meanwhile, his words could also have to do with the $40 million lawsuit his ex girlfriend brought forth against him. According to the legal motion, Bad Bunny used a voice recording of hers as an ad-lib without permission. He’s an absolute superstar, and while that comes with more accountability and scrutiny, he takes it in stride for the most part. Check out more clips of his Coachella set below and return to HNHH for the latest on Bad Bunny and Post Malone.

Juicy J’s Tribute To Gangsta Boo Cut From Funeral Due To Technical Difficulties

Juicy J reportedly made a tribute video for Gangsta Boo’s funeral, but the clip didn’t play due to technical difficulties. More tributes from DJ EFN and Yelawolf were also cut short.

“Rest in peace to the Queen of Memphis Lola Mitchell aka Gangsta Boo,” Juicy said in his tribute. “Prayers go out to the family, friends, the fans. We lost a great one, man, I’m kinda short for words. It was hard for me to make this video. I miss Gangsta Boo’s smile. Gangsta Boo and I had a conversation two months ago.”

He further said: “We did a show together and we had a great conversation. We talked about old times. We talked about family, friends, music. Rest in peace, man, we lost the Queen of Memphis. She won’t be forgotten. Gonna keep her name out here, gonna keep the music alive. Prayers up.”

As for Yelawolf, he reflected on his longtime friendship with Gangsta Boo.

“We’re gonna miss her so much,” the Tennessee-raised rapper said, before adding, “We had a relationship that only her and I could speak on. A friendship, a bond, we talked often. Not often enough.”

While recalling his relationship with Gangsta Boo, EFN recalled her appearance on Drink Champs. During the episode, the two discussed Three 6 Mafia, Memphis, and more.

In addition to the missed video tributes, DJ Paul was also absent from the ceremony. He later called out fans for criticizing him for the move.

The full service for Gangsta Boo went down in Southaven, Mississippi on Saturday. The Three 6 Mafia rapper passed away on January 1, 2023, at the age of 43. While authorities didn’t confirm an official cause of death, TMZ reports that she used cocaine that was laced with fentanyl the night before.
