Hit-Boy Calls Out Metro Boomin, Hitmaka, Mustard & Southside

A feud is brewing in the producer world after Hitmaka called out Hit-Boy. Hitmaka felt like Hit-Boy can’t see him because he’s had more success than the producer behind “Sicko Mode,” “N***as In Paris,” and Nas’s King’s Disease series. “I’m on the radio. Hit-Boy not on the radio,” Hitmaka said before stating that he has nothing but love for Hit. “If you play the soundtrack to your life for the past four, five years on radio – I know it’s gotta be frustrating with ‘em my name is so similar, my brother.”

Hitmaka undoubtedly has a strong discography with several singles that have been in rotation over the past few years. With his upcoming project with Jim Jones on the way this Friday, Back In My Prime, the momentum is already high for Hitmaka right now. Last week, Chlöe dropped her latest single from her forthcoming album, “How Does It Feel” ft. Chris Brown – his first major placement of the year. However, Hitmaka also has an album on the way, which will likely have the radio on smash, again.

Hit-Boy Responds To Hitmaka

Evidently, Hit-Boy took Hitmaka’s comments to heart and fired back on wax. Rory Farrell of Rory & Mal fame shared a video of Hit previewing a new track in the studio where he calls out his contemporaries while questioning their credentials as producers. On the song, Hit-Boy doesn’t hold back his feelings about Metro Boomin, Southside, Mustard, and of course, Hitmaka. “I’m usually homeboys with producers I get compared to/ But on this one I wanna stretched out, extra leg-room,” he raps on the song.

From there, he calls out Metro, claiming he “never heard him do boom-bap.” Then, he slights Southside for his signature use of 808s before taking aim at Mustard. However, the most scathing bars were aimed towards Hitmaka. “I just seen Yung Berg smoke on the wave/ I should do him like Trick Trick and snatch Hit out his name,” he raps. “I’m like Debo on this cruiser/ How you got no credits without co-producers.”  Rory captioned the post, “Okay .. I’m instigating producer beef lmao @_Hitmaka you know you my guy but it’s on you.” Check out Hit-Boy’s bars above.

Polo G Announces New Single With Future & Southside

Polo G’s follow-up to 2021’s Hall Of Fame could be coming soon. The rapper’s unveiled a handful of singles over the past few months but it seems like those intended to build up the anticipation for his major collab that’s on the way. This week, the rapper announced his upcoming single, “No Time Wasted” ft. Future and produced by Southside, due out on Feb. 17th.

Just a day before announcing the single, he shared a snippet online while asking fans to guess the feature. “this me and bro 1st time droppin one,” he wrote before confirming that he has a new album coming soon. “New single otw & album soon.” The teaser showcased Southside’s massive production style while Polo provided melody-filled motivational bars. “I know you waitin’/ Gettin’ fed up, you runnin’ out of patience/ Just keep yo head up, I told you we would make it,” Polo raps in the snippet. After revealing the feature, it’s hard not to hear Future’s influence on Polo G, especially when paired with Southside’s production.

Southside and Polo G have worked closely with one another since last summer, so “No Time Wasted” likely won’t be the last we hear from them. Prior to the release of “Distraction,” produced by Southside and Cubeatz, he revealed that the two were locked in during an interview with W Magazine. It seems that a release date could come after the single drops.

“Distraction” marked the first single from his upcoming album. However, Polo G hasn’t unveiled any details surrounding the project. He dished out a few singles throughout 2022 to warm fans up until his follow-up to Hall Of Fame. He unveiled “Bag Talk” in late October, then released “My All” in December.

The song’s release couldn’t come at a better time as Future is fresh off of a huge weekend at the Grammys. The Atlanta rapper scored his second Grammy of his career – and first as a main artist – for “WAIT FOR U” in the Best Melodic Rap Performance category. Future previously scored a Grammy for his contributions to Jay Rock’s “King’s Dead” alongside James Blake and Kendrick Lamar. Hopefully, “No Time Wasted” isn’t the last collaboration we hear from Future and Polo G. Check the snippet out below.

Roddy Ricch Recruits G Herbo And Doe Boy For The Mustard And Southside-Produced ‘Ghetto Superstar’

For two producers whose respective sounds have dominated their respective regions (and the mainstream sound of hip-hop overall), you probably couldn’t find two more different-sounding beatmakers than Mustard and Southside without some serious effort. But when they combine forces on Roddy Ricch‘s new single “Ghetto Superstar,” the effect is truly more than the sum of its parts.

They couldn’t have found a better vehicle to bridge the gap than the versatile Compton native, either; his slippery flow, which is inspired as much by the melodic yodel-rap of Young Thug as it is by hometown heroes like Eazy-E or YG, sounds as natural alongside a Mustard post-hyphy bounce as it does with a trap-tastic trunk thumper from Southside.

But, just to spice things up, the trio also brings along a pair of perfectly-suited guests in G Herbo and Doe Boy, who both tend to defy the dominant sounds of their own respective hometowns in the same way. Herb treats the snares as more of a suggestion than a physical boundary to his conversational flow, while Doe Boy has proven to be more consonant than his Atlanta countrymen like Future, providing an intriguing counterpart to Roddy and Herb’s more glassy-eyed approaches.

808 Mafia Producer, Southside, Calls Himself “Bob The Builder” When Talking About How Many BBLs He’s Paid For

Southside

Southside might be known for the beats he’s produced for artists such as Gucci Mane, Future, Travis Scott, 21 Savage, and Drake, but he also might be known for something else in the streets.

The 808 Mafia co=founder and superproducer recently sat down with 92.3 L.A.’s The Cruz Show where he revealed that he’s “funded” 10 women’s BBLs (Brazilian Butt Lift) and refers to himself as “Bob The Builder.”

“[Am I a BBL] expert? No. Funder? Yes,” Southside said. “I got a list! Sh*t is crazy.” He was then asked how many women whose BBLs he has “funded” and responded, “10, for sure. I done got some girl’s t*tties did twice. I done got a girl’s t*tties did, got ’em big. But it was too big for her, got ’em redid again, got ’em small.” He then joked, “I call myself Bob the Builder.”

Elsewhere in the interview, Southside spoke on his “necessities” in the studio, saying that whenever he comes to a creative block while working on a beat, he goes in another room and has a woman waiting on him.

“I don’t rage [when making beats]; I just delete [a beat] and go in the room and go f*ck or something and then come back out and make some more sh*t,” he said. “I always got p*ssy waiting somewhere, that’s my thing. It’s a studio necessity.”

He went on to say how he respects women and considers himself “one of those new type of guys.” “Don’t get it f*cked up, I love women. I was raised by my momma and all her sisters and all her friends. My dad wasn’t really around when I was young so I love women. I’m one of them new type of guys, I don’t judge women. You not a h*e in my eyes, I don’t give a damn what you did. I just want to have a good time!”
