Quavo is making waves in Hollywood, with producer turned director Randall Emmett praising his acting chops in the upcoming film Cash Out, co-starring John Travolta. Yes, Pulp Fiction, Face-Off, John Travolta. That guy.
Randall Emmett, the director of Cash Out, spoke to TMZ Hip Hop at LAX, expressing his admiration for Quavo’s performance in the action-packed film. Now, if you don’t know, some say Emmett inspired the iconic Turtle character in “Entourage” back when he was Mark Wahlberg’s assistant back in the day. He’s since risen into a powerhouse movie producer, now director, yet not without controversy. Emmett was also a fixture on the reality TV hit series “Vanderpump Rules” on Bravo TV due to his past relationship with his former fiancé and mother to one of his kids, La La Kent.
Back to Quavo … According to Emmett, the former Migos frontman effortlessly shines on screen, showcasing a natural talent that could propel him into a successful acting career. Emmett highlighted the chemistry between John Travolta and Quavo on set, noting how their dynamic elevated the film’s overall quality. Despite Quavo’s burgeoning acting career, Emmett remained unaware of controversies surrounding the rapper, such as his feud with Chris Brown.
With Quavo’s undeniable talent and potential, it seems Hollywood has found another rising star in the world of rap-turned-acting.
Chris Brown is no stranger to making headlines but it’s not always for his music. His career has been marked by a couple of controversies along the way. Chris Brown has notably had beef with several fellow notable figures, and most have been his peers in the industry. From public feuds to heated exchanges, his time in the spotlight has been filled with several intense moments. Recently, Chris Brown and Quavo have taken jabs at each other via diss tracks, but that’s just one out of several instances of beef the R&B star has been in. Let’s dive into some of the most notable instances where Chris Brown found himself at odds with others in the industry.
Frank Ocean and Chris Brown’s beef seems to stem from a “compliment” Brown had given Ocean in 2012. Brown had likened Ocean to a “young James Fauntleroy or Kevin Cossum.” However, the singer did not appreciate the comment, and in response, likened Brown to a “young Sisqo or Ike Turner.” The spat came to a head a year later when Chris Brown and the singer reportedly got into a physical altercation outside a recording studio in Los Angeles.
This incident reportedly began over a parking space dispute but also fueled ongoing tensions between the two artists. According to TMZ, Brown had tried to exit a studio in West Hollywood, but Ocean and his entourage reportedly blocked his way. The entire scuffle resulted in Brown throwing a punch at Ocean, and some verbal exchanges were thrown around. Soon after the incident, Ocean took to Twitter to air his grievances. He wrote: “Got jumped by Chris and a couple guys. Cut my finger now I can’t play w two hands at the Grammys.”
Meek Mill
Chris Brown and Meek Mill found themselves in a beef after Brown decided to remove Meek from his album Fortune. The rumor mill was abuzz, and speculations arose that Brown’s decision was due to Meek’s alleged relationship with Rihanna. After being kicked off the album, Meek took to Twitter to express his thoughts, stating: “Dese chicks belong 2 da game… not u! Never get confused and that’s all u!”
In response, Brown swiftly replied with a tweet of his own. “She’s a dream chaser! There are plenty of dreamers, so she’ll be running forever!” Later on, reports surfaced that the two artists had gotten physical at a nightclub in New York City, resulting in Brown ending up with a bloody chin. After the debacle however, both artists came on Twitter to say that they had resolved their differences. Brown tweeted: “Me and @MeekMill ain’t on that nonsense. Real recognizes real….” Meek echoed the sentiment, affirming the mutual respect: “Nah, we just getting money!”
Quavo
Chris Brown and Quavo’s friendly past now long forgotten. Both of them have recently been embroiled in the Hip Hop war. The feud between the two began in 2017 when the Migos rapper began dating Brown’s ex, Karrueche Tran. Their beef saw an almost physical altercation at the 2017 BET Awards after-party.
Years later, fans and spectators alike thought that the matter had died down, as both artists sitting side-by-side at the Rhude Menswear Fall/Winter 2024-2025 show. However, Brown made it clear on Twitter that the beef was, in fact, not dead. Brown recently made a subtle jab at Quavo in his latest album 11:11 before going all out with a diss track titled “Weakest Link.”
On the track, he asserted that he had a romantic involvement with Saweetie while she was still with Quavo. He also called Quavo the “weakest link” in Migos, as well as other insults. In response, the former Migos member retaliated with his own diss track titled “Over Hoes and Bitches.” However, Brown remained unmoved and chose not to engage further.
In December 2010, the former B2K singer Raz-B posted a contemplative tweet. He wrote: “I’m just sitting here thinking how can n***as like Eric Bennet and Chris Brown disrespect women as intelligent as Halle Berry and Rihanna.” The tweet immediately triggered a homophobic response from Chris Brown. He also ridiculed Raz-B’s allegations of being molested by a fellow member of the boy band.
Brown tweeted: “@RazB2K n***a you want attention! Grow up n***a!!! D*ck in the booty a*s little boy. Tell me this @RazB2K!! Why when the money was coming in you weren’t complaining about getting butt-plugged! #h**othug!!! I ain’t deleting my tweet either!! I was minding my damn business and Peter Pan decides to pop off!!! #whatalame.” The online spat escalated, with singer Omarion and Raz-B’s brother getting involved. Thankfully, the beef died on the internet, and things never got physical. Brown later apologized to his LGBTQ+ fans, stating that Raz-B was just being disrespectful.
Drake
In 2012, tensions between Chris Brown and Drake became heated and resulted in an alleged scuffle at a nightclub in New York City. The clash reportedly stemmed from their mutual involvement with Rihanna. Bottles were thrown, and Brown left with a minor injury. The beef was temporarily squashed until 2015 when Brown bashed Drake on Hot 97. He said: “We’re not getting no check from talking about dude. We’re giving him all this pub. We’re us. I can’t keep making these motherfuckers famous. I’m responsible for reviving a lot of careers.”
Drake subsequently responded during his live performance of “Energy” in New Zealand. He changed some of the lyrics of the song, from “I got rap n***as that I gotta act like I like” to “I got R&B n***as that I gotta act like I like.” Seven years after they started their beef, the two artists buried the hatchet and collaborated on the song “No Guidance.” Drake later spoke to Rap Radar about the entire debacle. He said: “You know, really at the end of the day when you kind of step away from it and break it down you start to feel silly ’cause it’s over girl stuff, you know? But obviously, that can snowball into real shit and that’s what happened in this situation.”
Tyson Beckford
In 2015, Tyson Beckford and Chris Brown got into it over Bown’s ex-girlfriend Karrueche Tran. After Beckford posted a photo of himself and Karrueche, Brown went on an online rant. He also sent threatening remarks to Beckford. In a now-deleted tweet, he said: “Keep playing I’ma f*ck ya baby momma and then whoop you child like he mine. U wanna keep walking them runways. I need ta legs for that. Keep playing like a ain’t wit the bullshit.”
In response, Beckford posted videos and tweets stating that he wasn’t afraid of Brown. He tweeted: “@chrisbrownofficial it’s all about fun in vegas. Come thru papa.” The two went back-and-forth over the weekend, with Brown later waving a white flag. He also acknowledged on Twitter that he was at fault and was being emotional.
The confrontation between Chris brown and Offset allegedly arose in 2019. This came after Offset criticized Brown for posting a meme about his friend, 21 Savage. Offset had commented on the meme post: “Memes ain’t funny lame.” Brown responded by labeling Offset as “sensitive,” and telling the rapper to focus on himself. He then went to hurl ageist insults at Offset, alleging that the rapper used drugs. He wrote: “If he don’t get his EARTH WIND AND FIRE pootytang space suits WEARING CAP A** LIL BOY da f**k out my comments and off my d**k.” Offset subsequently responded by bringing up Brown’s purported struggles with substance abuse.
Karrueche Tran just wants to move on with her life and not be involved with Chris Brown or Quavo. TMZ tracked down the star and asked how she felt about being the Hip-Hop Helen of Troy at the root of the CB and Quavo beef. She reveals she wants no part.
“I don’t feel, it is what it is,” Karrueche said. “I ain’t got nothing to do with it. I want to have a peaceful life. That’s all that I want.”
Tran revealed that she heard the songs and had no comments, before affirming, “I just want peace.” You can hear it from Karrueche below.

Last week, Quavo fired at Chris Brown following the release of his diss track, dropping one of his own “Over Hoes & Bitches (OHB).” The new track comes courtesy of an Akademiks premiere. You can hear it below.
Late Friday night (April 19), Chris Brown dropped off “Weakest Link,” which featured a voicemail from Quavo, Brown claiming to have sex with Saweetie while she dated Quavo and a wild Takeoff line.
In the opening voicemail, Chris Brown can be heard saying: “Now we can settle this like you got some class or we can get into some gangsta shit.” In response, Quavo said, “I don’t want no issues, I don’t want no smoke, I don’t wanna fight you.”
After a chant of “Who want smoke with me?” and calling Quavo “a bitch with dreads,” Chris Brown claims he had sex with Saweetie while she was dating Quavo.
“What’s all that boss shit you talkin’? You ain’t no huncho, nigga You the weakest link outta yo’ clique, let’s keep it a hundo, nigga You fucked my ex-ho, that’s cool, I don’t give no fuck, lil nigga ‘Cause I fucked yo’ ex when you were still with her, bitch, I’m up, lil nigga They say revenge is sweet, now think about that shit Don’t let that line go over your head, I might just sing about that shit I had her fiending ’bout that dick, there’s something sweet about that shit I got some tea up out that bitch, but I ain’t go speak about that shit”
Following that set, Breezy claims Quavo beat Saweetie in the elevator and that he wanted to beat the Migo at Fashion Week but wouldn’t mess up his money. Then the diss hits another level:
“You know it’s on, put you to bed, night, night, that’s Sudafed Show me that I’m tender, bitch, time to prove what you just said R.I.P. Takeoff, he the only real one, I got true respect Crazy how when he died, everybody really wished it was you instead You trippin’, Chris, don’t say that, don’t lose your head”
Quavo is now an actor, as folks are talking about his role in a new John Travolta action movie about a heist gone wrong and all the antics, dangers, and thrills that unfold as a result. Cash Out released this Friday (April 26) in select theaters and for rentals on VOD, and as is typical for a more B-movie type of experience, there were plenty of critical but also amused reviews and takes on it, particularly his performance. Still, it seems like the former Migo is letting all of that slide, as he called himself “Quazel Washington” in the comments section of a DJ Akademiks post which included a clip from the film, which you can see below. Can’t wait for his next roles in The Book Of Huncho, The Discriminizer (listen to “pick up the phone” for context), and of course, Training Quay.
Furthermore, there were a lot of comments on Quavo’s performance in particular all over social media, not just under this Ak post. Many of them came from Chris Brown fans, who found yet another reason to claim that their fav is destroying him in their beef. Whether you’re on Breezy’s side or Huncho’s, their back-and-forth has rivaled even that of the “Big Three” debacle that really just turned into the “Big Two & Guests” feud involving Kendrick Lamar, Drake, and J. Cole. If nothing else, at least they’ve quickly and firmly responded to each other’s diss tracks and are sticking to the script.
Elsewhere, Quavo and Chris Brown’s ex-partner-in-common, Karrueche Tran, recently responded to all this beef, given that much of it is allegedly over her. “I don’t feel,” she told a reporter at an airport recently. “It is what it is, I’m living my life. Working, paying my bills, taking time for myself and that’s all that matters. What else is going on, I ain’t got nothing to do with it. I’m living a peaceful life that’s all I want. No! No comments. I just don’t want any parts, I want peace and happiness. I want to work and thrive.”
Meanwhile, what do you think of the “Over H*es & B***hes” MC’s acting chops in Cash Out? Does he have a future in film or should he stick to the music videos? Either way, let us know in the comments section down below. Also, stick around on HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Quavo.
Who knew Quavo could do his own stunts? The rapper has shown off his stunt skills in his new flick with John Travolta Cash Out. Quavo shot the movie back in 2022, and the heist action film just released on Friday. It’s an action-packed movie, and Quavo shares the screen with movie legend John Travolta in what looks like a big role for the Migos star. Quavo has been in the news recently for his ugly rap beef with Chris Brown. Nevertheless, fans are discussing the rapper who might be an action star now.
The movie Cash Out revolves around Mason (played by John Travolta), a career criminal enticed by the prospect of his biggest heist yet. He teams up with his younger sibling for a bank robbery, but things take a turn for the worse during the heist. The robbers find themselves trapped inside, surrounded by SWAT troops, the FBI, and Interpol. The situation escalates further when Mason’s ex-lover and negotiator enters the picture. Quavo’s character, Anton, adds to the intensity of the plot with his actions.
In the clip from Cash Out, Quavo is behind the wheel. Quavo is evading police with his acting partner Lukas Haas in a thrilling chase sequence. The movie also stars Kristin Davis, Victorya Brandart, Joel Cohen, and many more. Additionally, the movie is available to rent on VOD and will be in select theaters starting today. All in all, the movie isnt getting the best of reviews, but people may be inclined to see it knowing Quavo is in it. Nevertheless, it is cool to see QUavo in an action flick.
Quavo has been beefing with singer Chris Brown. The two have exchanged diss tracks and disrespect over the internet. The feud is so wild that rap figures like Fat Joe say ridiculous things like, “Chirs Brown is the Tupac of 2024.” Additionally, after Brown’s diss track levied against Qusavo, rap feud expert 50 Cent said it was a wrap for the Migos rapper. Even Chris Brow’s ex-Karrueche has weighed in on the rap beef. Overall, the vicious rap war between Quavo and Chris Brown might boost Cash Out’s success.
Despite Chris Brown and Quavodragging her name through the mud in their response diss tracks to each other, Saweetie and her partner YG are seemingly partying through it all. Moreover, they recently went on a club outing for one of Power 106‘s anniversary parties on Thursday night (April 25). While it’s obviously impossible to assume their attitudes, mental spaces, and moods with just one clip, it seems like they were at least relaxed and just happy to be there. Whether or not they’re actually worrying about this situation or whether it’s caused a bump on their journey, they’re certainly not letting the cameras find out.
Furthermore, for those unaware, Saweetie actually responded to Quavo mentioning that he can turn any model into her by posting a screenshot of an alleged DM that the former Migo sent her back in January, which she still hadn’t opened. He hasn’t responded to this move publicly at press time, and we wonder whether or not he thought that his bars would come across as more defensive than mocking. Regardless, she hasn’t really said much about Chris Brown and about how he claimed to have slept with her while she was with Quavo in the first place, opening up this whole can of worms. This is all mostly speculative, but you can start to see where the tea really gets interesting in this whole debacle.
Of course, there’s a good chance that the Icy Girl will respond to some of this on her upcoming single, which she has teased quite heavily and much to fan excitement. After all, she recently suggested that she might rewrite some bars for it while this whole beef between Quavo and Chris Brown was heating up with diss tracks and responses. No matter how Saweetie chooses to handle this moving forward, YG’s seemingly got her back. But we know that things can change quickly, especially behind closed doors that we can’t peep behind just yet.
For example, this couple were recently the subject of breakup rumors themselves, so we can only wish them the best moving forward. Still, what do you think about this whole situation? However you may feel, let us know your thoughts down in the comments section below. Also, check back in with HNHH for more news and the latest updates on Saweetie, YG, Chris Brown, and Quavo.
While it seems rap has returned to a place where feuds are dealt with on wax rather than in person, Quavo and Chris Brown’s ongoing beef is treading into personal territory. Over the weekend, Breezy unloaded his latest release, “Weakest Link,” targeting Quavo and bringing up the late Takeoff. Among other claims, he also claimed to have slept with Saweetie while she was still dating Quavo, and spared the Migos rapper the humiliation of a public ass-beating at Paris Fashion Week when they were seated next to each other. Moreover, Chris Brown, out of all people, attempted to level the playing field with domestic assault allegations against Quavo.
The feud is ultimately a low-stakes battle between an R&B singer and a rapper over a woman who already moved on from both of them. Though Chris may have initially denied that this doesn’t have to do with shared partners – a commonality in the entertainment industry as a whole – that, along with the death of Takeoff, became what Breezy believed to be the sore spots. But, similar to how Quavo swiftly responded to Chris Brown’s 11:11 diss with the release of “Tender,” the Migos rapper proved that his competitive nature isn’t limited to athletics. On his latest release, “Over Hoes & B*tches” — a play on Breezy’s OHB clique — Quavo fired back at the R&B singer with the posthumous assistance of Takeoff. Here’s everything you need to know about the song.
Initially debuted on Akademiks Live Stream on April 22nd, Quavo dug into the vault to directly jab back at Chris Brown’s dig toward the late Migos member on “Weakest Link,” Breezy raps, “R.I.P. Takeoff, he the only real one that got true respect/ Crazy how when he died, everybody really wished it was you instead (Oh shit, brrah).” Though Brown immediately acknowledged how he might be “trippin’,” the inclusion of Takeoff’s performance on “Over Hoes & Bitches” illustrates the ride-or-die nobility between the uncle-and-nephew duo.
“This bullet got your name/ Don’t ever bring up Take, pussy,” Huncho raps on the intro, just before Takeoff’s posthumous hook becomes the song’s glue. Though we can’t confirm when Takeoff’s contributions were recorded, it certainly sounds like something that may have came out of the back catalog. However, considering that this feud pre-dates Takeoff’s death, it wouldn’t be difficult to imagine that it would released in the thick of the initial stages of Quavo and Chris Brown’s feud. Even if the bars sound like they could be talking about anyone, it’s an effective hook for Quavo’s diss track toward Breezy.
Saweetie
Of course, one of the biggest bombshells from Chris Brown’s “Weakest Link” surrounded Saweetie. Though Karreuche remains at the center of the beef – or atleast we thought – Chris Brown revealed that he slept with Quavo’s ex while they were together. “Who gassed you up to put that out?/ Yeah, that was shitty, n***a/ I can take a model bitch and make a Saweetie, n***a,” he raps. Of course, this line ultimately caught the attention of Saweetie who exposed text messages from Quavo back in January. Whether a coincidence or not, fans also pointed out that on the same day Quavo messaged her, she was spotted next to Chris Brown at an NBA game.
Tran has maintained her silence amid the Chris Brown/Quavo saga. However, Breezy and Quavo ensured they addressed the core of their issues. On “Over Hoes & Bitches, Quavo questions Breezy’s commitment to pushing this feud further. “Lil’ boy wanna die ’bout some coochie? (Bow) You still fucked up ’bout Karrueche?” he raps. While Chris Brown previously shrugged off his former fling with Tran, Quavo suggests that Brown’s ego continues to fuel the fury behind their feud.
Since the 2009 Grammys, things have not been the same for Chris Brown. Allegations of abuse have followed him over the years, including other reported incidents, some of which have resulted in lawsuits. However, Breezy’ violent past has continued to haunt his existence and it became the focal point of Quavo’s latest releases.
On “Weakest Link,” Chris Brown calls out Quavo for facing similar accusations following the infamous video of himself and Saweetie in the elevator. In response, Quavo pulled up several examples of Chris Brown exhibited signs of abuse, including the evening he attacked Rihanna, the supposed rift he had with Teyana Taylor, and his infamous beef with Frank Ocean, of all people. Quavo uses the Ocean incident, specifically, to question whether Chris Brown is actually willing to fight. “Talking about fashion week, you sparing who?/ Come punch me in my face/ It ain’t nun’ but a fade, you know you lost to Frank (Frank Ocean?),” Quavo raps.
Chris Brown has faced several accusations surrounding his alleged relationship with substances. A 2017 report from Billboard detailed his reported issue following a lawsuit filed by his former manager. Although Breezy has denied using any drugs outside of marijuana, many have speculated that his aggressive behavior stems from the alleged use of cocaine.
Across “Over B*tches & H*es,” Quavo makes several mentions of these supposed rumors. “The cocaine got ’em, your honor (White), bipolar disorder, no wonder,” he raps, which delves deeper into the allegations from the aforementioned 2017 report where a source claimed that Chris Brown leaned further into substances as he abandoned his prescription medication for his bipolar disorder. “You was the greatest, n***a, you fumbled, going out sad, I’m watching you crumble/ Why they got Quavo out here going back and forth with a singer that turned to a junkie?” Elsewhere in the verse, he calls Chris Brown a “Crackhead Michael Jackson.” Pretty self-explanatory.
Street Ties
Though Chris Brown emerged as a child star, the latter half of his career found him assuming a more bad boy image. This largely relates to Brown’s alleged ties to the Pirus. During the intro, Quavo brings up the reports that home invaders held Chris Brown’s aunt at gunpoint. However, he suggests that the robbery was the result of Chris failing to pay his debts. “N***as ran in your house, tied up your aunt ’cause you ain’t pay,” he raps.
Furthermore, Quavo, specifically, calls out Breezy for putting on a tough guy image. Once again, he questions Breezy’s authenticity. “N***a, you ain’t been in the trenches/ We stomping the yard, you know how that ended,” he raps, referencing Breezy’s character in the film, Stomp The Yard, who dies relatively early. “Want smoke with me? OHB mean fighting over hoes and bitches (OHB),” he adds, flipping the name of Chris Brown’s crew Original Hood Bosses.
It’s been a year absolutely packed with beef and diss tracks in hip-hop and beyond. Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj got things started earlier this year with an explosive but short lived back and forth. The main event came when Kendrick Lamar took shots against J. Cole and Drake on the song “Like That” from Future & Metro Boomin’s new album WE DON’T TRUST YOU. J. Cole’s quickly deleted response track and Drake’s consistent trolling of Kendrick over his height have seemingly dominated the rap news cycle ever since. Additionally, it’s even seeped into popular music with Taylor Swift dropping a straight up Kim Kardashian diss track on the extended version of her new album.
The newest beef to spark is between Chris Brown and Quavo. The pair’s distaste for each other was brought back into the limelight when they were seated next to each other at a fashion show earlier this year. Now it’s escalated into full on beef with diss tracks from both artists. Right in the middle of all of it is Saweetie. While she hasn’t exactly come out in favor of Chris Brown, she certainly isn’t siding with Quavo. Following her being mentioned in both songs she shared a DM from the former Migos rapper to Twitter that was admittedly not a great look. Now as the beef rages on, she’s using the opportunity to promote her upcoming song.
In the comments, plenty of fans bring up the ongoing beef. Most of them seem to want a Chris Brown feature on the upcoming track. “WE WANT CHRIS ON THE SONG AND IN THE MUSIC VIDEO” one of the top comments on the post reads. “WE WANT CHRIS BROWN ON THE REMIX” another agrees.
What do you think of Saweetie continuing to tease her new single in the midst of the Quavo and Chris Brown beef? Do you think she is taking Brown’s side in the beef or just defending herself from Quavo’s allegations? Let us know in the comment section below.
The back and forth on wax between R&B crooner Chris Brown and Migos member Quavo has taken another unexpected turn with another involved party; Quavo’s ex-girlfriend and Brown’s former fling Saweetie.
The “My Type” rapper took to X(formerly Twitter) after her former beau dropped his “H*es & Bitches” diss response aimed at Brown. In the song, Quavo rapped, “I can take a model bitch and make a Saweetie, n-gga,” insinuating that he turned her into the successful artist she is today.
Saweetie hit back by posting a screenshot of an unopened DM from Quavo, but the preview of the message reads, “Damn. We used to mean af to each…” Saweetie cynically captioned the screenshot, “Hopefully the model he turns into me replies.”
Brown used the failed relationship between the two in his weaponized bars against the “Bad And Boujee” rapper, claiming to have slept with her while Quavo was still with her.
“You fucked my ex-ho, that’s cool, I don’t give no fuck, lil n-gga/ ‘Cause I fucked yo’ ex when you were still with her, bitch, I’m up, lil n-gga,” CB rapped.
Saweetie and Quavo began dating back in 2018 but the couple called it quits in 2021 over allegations he cheated on her.
Throughout this month, it seems like the theme in the Black music scene is “everybody fighting.” “Everybody” in this case has begun to take on its literal definition, as even disgraced but somehow still insanely popular R&B star Chris Brown has joined the Black music Royal Rumble currently taking place on social media platforms and DSPs across the world wide web. His beef appears to be with Quavo, and the two have traded diss tracks and Twitter barbs for the better part of the last three days.
Read on for a timeline of Quavo and Chris Brown’s “beef.”
April 2017 – Quavo Seemingly Begins Dating Chris Brown’s Ex
Prior to the rumor surfacing that Quavo had begun dating Karrueche Tran, he and Brown had apparently been on friendly terms. Brown appeared on Migos’ 2015 track “Just For Tonight” and a year later, Quavo returned the favor on Chris’ mixtape track “Whippin’.” However, in April of 2017, TMZ reported Quavo and Tran were seen spending time together, which apparently incensed Brown, who couldn’t let go of his prior relationship with the model/influencer, despite her dumping him in 2015. She later filed a restraining order against him, alleging harassment and abusive behavior.
June 2017 – The Two Stars Confront Each Other
In June that year, Brown and his entourage confronted Quavo and his at the BET Awards, but for the past few years, the two have appeared to be on good enough terms… until now.
April 2024 – Brown Calls Out Quavo, Quavo Responds, And A Beef Is Born
On April 11, Brown released the deluxe edition of his 2023 album 11:11 with a new song, “Freak,” in which he referenced the 2017 fling, seemingly revealing he still harbors a grudge about it after all this time (of course he does). “OK, now f*ckin’ my old b*tches ain’t gone make us equal / Sippin’ that 1942 ’cause I don’t do no Quavo,” he sings — a reference to the resemblance between Quavo and “Jose Cuervo,” the popular brand of tequila.
A day later, Quavo dropped “Tender,” a song responding to Brown’s call-out, in which he raps, “You did the b*tch wrong and now the b*tch gone, she posted with a thug / Call the b*tch phone, she won’t come home, don’t beat her up,” — a pretty obvious reference to Brown’s history of abusive relationships, including the infamous 2009 incident in which he battered Rihanna so badly, she was hospitalized.
April 2024 – Chris Brown Drops “Weakest Link”
Chris came back with “Weakest Link” a week later, on April 20. In it, he not only addresses Quavo’s “Tender” taunts about Karrueche, but also suggests that turnabout is fair play and that he slept with Quavo’s ex Saweetie. “They say revenge is sweet, now think about that sh*t,” he raps. “Don’t let that line go over your head, I might just sing about that sh*t / I had her fiending ’bout that d*ck, there’s something sweet about that sh*t / I got some tea up out that b*tch, but I ain’t go speak about that sh*t.”
Quavo’s response, “Over Hoes & B*tches,” dropped last night (April 22) and continues to drag out Brown’s abusive past. We’ll see if if these two continue to taunt each other, but let’s all just hope it blows over because at this point, the returns are diminishing rapidly. I never thought I’d say this, but Kendrick really needs to respond to Drake; the quality of these rap beefs is about as good as month-old milk.
