Busta Rhymes Struggles To Decide Between Kendrick Lamar & J. Cole For Greatest Ever List

Busta Rhymes was torn between Kendrick Lamar and J. Cole while rounding out his picks for the greatest rappers of all time. During an appearance on Amazon Music’s +44 Podcast, Busta explained that Cole releasing more music than Kendrick keeps him in the race. Other names he listed include himself, Rakim, Nas, and Eminem.

“Greatest rapper ever? I don’t think I have one,” Busta said. “I could say five. Rakim. Some might disagree with me but Nas. I would say Eminem. I’m starting to feel like there some new guys that are starting to go into that list to me. I’m almost there with J. Cole but I’m still torn between him and Kendrick. I’m talking about only bars! If Kendrick was to get active in the same way that Cole is being active, it would be a way different conversation but again, I’m torn between Cole and Kendrick, but it would be one of them two.”

From there, Busta continued: “I still didn’t put none of them two in the fourth place. I was just saying that it was gonna be a new guy cause they are really starting to really earn their right to passage and to be in the top 5 greatest of all time to me. I would definitely say Jay-Z. I’m Biggie-biased. I’m Biggie biased because I think what he has done between two albums everybody obviously had an opportunity to work way longer than him and they still can’t top what he has done in two albums. I think that’s my list.” Check out his full comments on the topic below.

XXXTENTACION’s Mother Reveals The Kinds Of Books He Was Reading: Watch

One person’s death that might have hit the hardest was the tragic loss of XXXTENTACION. It is crazy to think five years have passed by already. Every day music fans mourn for him and his family. His legacy is something that probably no hip-hop fan will ever forget. Some sort of justice was served back in April at least. Three men, Michael Boatwright, Trayvon Newsome, and Dedrick Williams, were all sentenced to life in prison. Additionally, Robert Allen accepted a plea deal, testified, and was granted two years, but has 20 years of probation.

Any sort of information we can get about XXXTENTACION is always nice to see, especially when it relates to his personal life. According to XXL, his mother, Cleopatra Bernard, chatted with podcaster, Gary The Numbers Guy, for an interview that delved into the mind of XXX. You can check out the full chat below if you are so inclined. A lot of the discussion centered around numerology and occult.

Cleo explains in a little extra detail. “These are some of his books, so you have an idea where his mind was. The things that he found interesting.” It is quite an expansive collection with them ranging from mythology, numerology, witchcraft, and more.

DaBaby Proclaims His “Jail” Verse Is Better Than Jay-Z’s

Some people still might have disdain for DaBaby after all of the homophobic actions. Others might not respect him for the music he has been releasing lately, thinking it is all the same. However, what you cannot knock him for is that he is self-confident. He gives off that feeling in his latest interview with NFL Hall-of-Famer, Shannon Sharpe. The former superstar tight end interviewed the Cleveland-born rapper on his entertaining podcast, Club Shay Shay. Both of them chopped it up for nearly two hours and it was a great listen. If you want to check it out, visit the link below.

One of the topics that is going to get a lot of people talking is DaBaby’s belief that his verse on “Jail pt 2” is superior to Jay-Z’s on the original “Jail.” Both of these tracks are on Kanye West’s 2021 record, Donda. Shannon brought this up because Lil Yachty got the ball rolling on this, according to HipHopDX. He made the claim that DaBaby had the better performance on his podcast, A Safe Place. So, the question was delivered, and DaBaby had this to say.

DaBaby Or Jay-Z?

“It was. You heard both of them?” throwing the question back at the host. He has respect for Jay, but ultimately sticks to his guns. “Jay-Z, I ain’t got nothing but respect for you. Was your verse better than mine? Come on, OG. It wasn’t. That’s okay. We ain’t do it at the same time. It ain’t like you had the ability to be able to say, ‘Hold on, [let me do it over].’ We did it in two different times. But definitely.”

What are your initial thoughts on DaBaby claiming he has a better verse than Jay-Z on “Jail?” Which song do you listen to more, part one or part two? Is DaBaby the best rapper going right now? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. “I was hosting the Divas for VH1, and I was at sound check, and Whitney was up on stage doing her sound check,” Sharon said. “Her little girl [Bobbi Kristina] obviously liked watching The Osbournes and she came up and sat next to me — gorgeous little thing. “Whitney’s up there singing, and then she stops singing, and the track is still going, and slowly the track stops,” she continued. “And she goes, ‘Mrs. Osbourne, are you trying to f–k my husband?’ And I’m like, ‘No, no, please, I’m not! I went running down the aisle, and I’m like, ‘No, no, no, you don’t understand! No, no, no, I wasn’t.’” From there, Sharon says Houston spotted that she was wearing a wedding ring. “[Whitney] goes, ‘Let me see that ring,’ and she looks at the ring. I said, ‘I’d love you to have it,’” Sharon recalled, “I gave her the ring, threw it at her. Cam’ron Recalls Forcing Teenage Juelz Santana To Work On Music

Cam’ron says he used to have to force Juelz Santana to lock in and work on music when he was a teenager. Reflecting on their collaborative relationship during an interview on Million Dollaz Worth of Game, Cam explained how he’d get Santana motivated to write.

“We used to have to lock Juelz in the house, straight up and down, when he was 15, 16,” he said. “All them songs you hear, the bangers, was forced. [I’d be like], ‘Yo, write the song, my n***a. Write the song!’ But it got to the point where I can’t treat you… you’re a grown man now. I can’t yell at you. I can’t scream at you. All them hits. ‘Gangsta Music,’ ‘Santana’s Town,’ all the hot shit, ‘Hey Ma,’ was when we about to walk out to the club, we had a crib in Chicago. And he’d be like, ‘Come on.’ I’d be like, ‘You did that 16?’ He’d be like, ‘Uh…’ I said, ‘We’ll bring you a b*tch back. You’re not coming out until you finish the f*cking song.’ Straight like that. ‘We’ll bring you a hoe back and if you finished the 16, you can have her.’”

And the reason I know this ‘cause I’m waiting. I’m a fan! I’m sitting here saying: ‘When’s the shit coming out?’ ‘Cause I would like to hear it!”

J. Cole On Kendrick Lamar Collab Album: “We Ain’t Ever Got The Chance”

During J. Cole’s appearance on Lil Yachty and Mitch’s A Safe Place podcast, they talked about a lot of stuff. They discussed Cole’s first number one hit and how he “almost” regrets it, his features policy, and plenty of other compelling and interesting topics. It’s great to hear the North Carolina MC and the Atlanta artist chop it up about life and their careers, and they got to discuss one of 2010s hip-hop’s most persistent requests. When addressing his rumored collab album with Kendrick Lamar, the Dreamville boss gave some very interesting and revealing reasons as to why it hasn’t happened… and probably won’t, unfortunately.

“In a nutshell, [Kendrick Lamar] had pulled up on me at No I.D.’s spot,” J. Cole began. “We was already building this relationship, and I had these beats at the time and I was playing them for him. Was that our first time linking? ‘HiiiPoWeR,’ one of them beats? There’s a few beats, a gang of beats that I did, I gave him. Some of them like, maybe had a hook on them, a verse- this, that, and the third.

“So he took them and, you know, in that moment, we talked about, ‘Yo, bro, we should do a project,’” J. Cole continued. “At that time he’s not on like that, but I’m f***in’ with him. At one point, it was a real thing. But bro, time and life, we ain’t ever got the chance to go in and do it correctly, because that would take time. For us to do something that’s full of our potential, that meets our real potential, you’re gonna need time. At least a year.

“When you got two successful artists with lives and families, that’s hard to do,” he concluded. “We put it to bed years ago. But at one point in time, it was a real conversation, for sure. It’s not like it’s a ton of songs. It’s not like it’s some album sitting on the shelf somewhere.” For more news and the latest updates on J. Cole and Kendrick Lamar, come back to HNHH.
