Shaquille O’Neal blended Lil Uzi Vert’s “Just Wanna Rock” and Meek Mill’s “Dreams & Nightmares” during a recent performance in Philadelphia. The mash-up comes after a viral debate concerning whether Uzi’s song replaced Meek’s as the anthem for the city of Philadelphia.

DJ Diesel had been performing during the Phillies’ home matchup against the Nationals from Citizens Bank Park. Sharing a clip of the set on TikTok, Shaq wrote: “when in Philly..” while tagging both artists.

DJ Drama was the first one to spark the debate on “Just Wanna Rock” versus “Dreams and Nightmares.” The Philadelphia Eagles had previously walked out to Uzi’s track during their NFC Championship game against the San Francisco 49ers. “I think it’s fair to say that ‘Just Wanna Rock’ has replaced—with all due respect—‘Dreams and Nightmares’ as the new anthem of Philadelphia, as the new anthem of the Philadelphia Eagles this year,” Drama told TMZ. “I’m looking forward to hearing that song many, many times [throughout] Super Bowl weekend.”

Despite the debate, Uzi admitted they side with Meek’s “Dreams and Nightmares” when asked which song is Philly’s anthem. “I don’t think so,” Uzi told Revolt TV. “That song like been around for a very long time, and that song is still hitting exactly the same way. I’m just gonna have to see, you know, in a couple of years or a decade or whatever.”

Russ stopped a concert at Calgary Stampede in Canada, earlier this week, when the security team got into it with a female fan. In a clip that’s since made its way to social media, the rapper calls out members of the security for being too “aggressive” and eventually climbs off stage to help the fan.

“What y’all doing?” Russ asked. “Yo, yo, that’s a female bro. What’s wrong with you? Yo! That’s a woman, dog. You don’t need to be that aggressive. It’s five fucking dudes. What are ya’ll doing? Damn dog.”

The journey at times wasn’t and isn’t pretty,” Russ wrote at the time. “I’ve put myself through the ringer and beat myself up quite a bit along the way. The front cover depicts externally what that sort of psychological warfare looks like.”

She simply shouted “Baby” into the mic, getting social media users talking. Some think it appears as though Saweetie simply didn’t know the song’s lyrics, while others insisted she was attempting to steer clear of replaying the recent Keke Palmer controversy.

Recently, Keke Palmer attended Usher’s residency, being serenaded herself. She appeared to be living it up, sharing various clips of her enjoying the show on social media. The father of her child, Darius Jackson, wasn’t too happy about Usher’s hands-on performance. He then took to Twitter to shame Palmer for what she was wearing, reminding her that she’s a mother. Jackson received a tremendous amount of backlash for his comments, with many claiming that he was in the wrong for speaking up.

He later responded to the backlash with another Tweet. “We live in a generation where a man of the family doesn’t want the wife & mother to his kids to showcase booty cheeks to please others & he gets told how much of a hater he is,” he wrote. “This is my family & my representation,” he continued, ” “I have standards & morals to what I believe.” Amid the drama, Jackson deleted all of his social media accounts, returning shortly after with Palmer scrubbed from his feed. Shooting After Mozzy Performance Causes Club Closure

Hip-hop fans recently experienced a shock when authorities arrested Mozzy following a shooting at a nightclub he performed at. Moreover, it occurred on Saturday (July 1) at City Nightz nightclub in Wichita, Kansas and left nine people injured due to gunshot wounds and two injured due to being trampled amid the chaos. Police stated that these victims, both male and female are aged between 21 and 34, and five of these received treatment at local hospitals. Furthermore, the rapper hosted an afterparty following a performance of his at another venue, but the unrelated distressing events held heavy consequences for the club. According to local outlet 12 News, authorities hit City Nightz with a 30-day suspension, or in other words, temporary closure.

What’s more is that law enforcement already made significant strides in identifying the true culprit for this shooting. The Wichita Police Department arrested 31-year-old Missouri resident Brandon Young in connection with the incident. Not only that, but Chief Joe Sullivan told 12 News that Young actually worked as a security guard for Mozzy that night. In addition, Sullivan stressed the importance of screening people before entering the club as an important safety precaution that could’ve prevented these injuries.

“We need to take a strong stance in response to what occurred, because in my estimate,” Sullivan remarked of the shooting at the Mozzy afterparty. Also, he brought up that City Nightz faced 12 prior occurrences like these this year alone. “I believe it was totally preventable. You can’t have gun violence under control. If you have one homicide, one shooting, that’s too many. We were actually below last year in shooting victims, but due to the number of the shooting victims that happened in that one incident, we were slightly above last year. It’s a major concern for us… I am really hoping this is a wakeup call for club owners across our city, not just in Old Town.”

Meanwhile, authorities released the California MC shortly after his brief stint. Presumably, they interrogated him concerning the shooting and let him go on no charges for what went down. Ne-Yo instantly regretted offering one fan the chance to come up on stage to dance with him. As soon as she was up there, the fan grabbed Ne-Yo’s hat off of his head, at which point he promptly booted her off the stage. The singer has been a notorious wearer of hats ever since middle school when his hairline began to recede at a rapid pace, according to the Meredith Vieira Show. So when this fan thought it was funny to grab his headpiece and begin acting like the R&B legend, he did not find it all that amusing.

“She knows good g*dd*mn well [that] she wasn’t supposed to grab my hat,” Ne-Yo said to the crowd after getting his hat back. “Get your ass back over there.” He then gave her a solid nudge toward the back of the stage before calling for contestant number two. The clip has gone viral because of his mixture of humor and frustration. You can tell that he isn’t a big fan of this fan’s actions, but he gets his hat back quickly and turns it into something funny. He even mocked a kick of her backside as she was headed off stage.

Travis Scott and Lil Uzi Vert performed their new song, “Aye,” together for the first time in Dublin, Ireland on Sunday. The two both took the stage at Longitude 2023. Uzi dropped the collaboration on their new album, Pink Tape, on Friday. Other performers throughout the weekend included Calvin Harris, Metro Boomin, Joey Bada$$, and more.

Last month, Swae Lee also showed up to support French Montana at the premiere of his new film, For Khadija, at the Tribeca Film Festival. Lil Nas X Fan Throws Sex Toy Onstage

During a recent performance, Lil Nas X had to pause his show when an audience member tossed something unexpected onto the stage. The artist was performing at Lollapalooza yesterday (July 1) in Stockholm, when he was shocked to find that an adult toy had landed at his feet. “Who threw they p***y onstage?” he asked upon inspection. The “Montero (Call Me by Your Name)” hitmaker laughed the incident off, moving on to perform the rest of his set. The recent performance was his first time ever doing a show in Sweden.

Though Lil Nas X was able to laugh the bizarre incident off, another recent music festival performance left the performer frustrated. He was scheduled to perform at the New York Governors Ball festival last month, and technical issues clouded his set. A source told Page Six that the “Industry Baby” rapper didn’t even want to perform anymore due to the myriad of problems.

They say that despite challenges, the artist “very begrudgingly” went through with the performance. Lil Yachty’s “Poland” is probably the biggest hit he’s had in a while, coming right before his artistic evolution on Let’s Start Here. With a buzzing rage beat from none other than F1LTHY and the most woozy vocals rap has heard in a while, it’s no wonder the track became a viral sensation. Still, it was also quite interesting to see just how much success it found before Yachty switched lanes completely. While his excursions and deep immersion into the worlds of psychedelic rock, indie pop, synth-based jams, and alternative music proved excellent, “Poland” was a lucky and unorthodox strike right before his leap. With other singles coming after it like “Strike (Holster)” seeing him return to a rap bag, the style is clearly not dead.

Also, if you have a chance to perform a hit repeatedly at a show, that just proves its enduring status. Moreover, Lil Yachty recently went to Poland and performed the song six times in a row for the adoring crowd before him. Of course, you might think that it would get old after a while, but the crowd actually got louder and rowdier on some takes after the first one. What’s more is that the Atlanta MC himself also seemed to intensify each performance and get more hyped as he went on. However, the crowd sung the last one acapella, a nice send-off to thank fans in a way.

Regardless of its success, the 25-year-old had no idea it would blow up like that in the first place. Even though the song got him an invite to the country from the Polish Prime Minister, he felt odd that it hit so hard while he entered a new era. “I would’ve never dropped ‘Poland’- ever- because I wanted to pivot myself into this,” Lil Yachty told Zane Lowe. “So I was really irritated when it dropped, but I’m so grateful it did. Like I said, I really don’t know what I do next. I don’t know if I’ma do this again or do more rap.”

Meanwhile, he explained the inspiration behind the song to popular YouTube reactors Zias and B. Lou. “I’ma tell y’all the truth,” he remarked. “I was in the studio, right, working on my new album, and I was actually just trolling. My mans was just drinking a Poland Springs water bottle. I mean obviously I had some wock, but he had a Poland Springs water bottle. I was like, ‘Damn.’ And the song was a joke! I was just trolling. It leaked, and that’s why I was like, technically it’s not finished. It’s just a verse. I never finished the song, but it went cr*zy. So I was like, ‘S**t, I might as well put it out.’” We still don’t know if he has taken the wock to Poland, but playing it six times in a row probably counts.
