Beyonce Gives Merch To Fans Outside After Making Music History With Barcelona “RENAISSANCE” Concert

Beyonce’s generosity truly knows no bounds. Since embarking on her RENAISSANCE World Tour earlier this spring, the “Diva” hitmaker has shared the “AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM” remix with Kendrick Lamar and announced her venture into the hair industry. On top of that, she’s also shared the stage with her eldest daughter, Blue Ivy Carter, on numerous occasions now, including on Thursday (June 8) evening in Barcelona, Spain. With each and every performance, Bey and Jay-Z’s firstborn only continues to get better, and the whole family couldn’t be more proud.

Following the show, Queen B surprised patrons once again. This time she stepped outside to hand some of them merchandise while thanking them for coming to see her perform. It was only a small group who had the opportunity to get up close and personal with the Houston native and Julius, her beloved security guard. They caught the wholesome moment on camera, and it’s since been making waves on Twitter where people have shared mixed reactions.

Queen B Takes Care of the BeyHive

Many are pleased to see Beyonce – one of the biggest names in music – being so humble and gracious, but of course there were still haters. Above all else, those who came face to face with the Grammy Award winner are being slammed the most for rudely demanding a photo with Bey as she handed them their free gifts. “It’s giving Princess Jasmine when she goes to the village and gives the apple,” one Twitter user wrote, referencing Disney’s Aladdin. “‘Cause they were acting starved af,” they added. Others hilariously compared the Destiny’s Child alum to well-known figures such as Robin Hood and Mother Theresa.

Aside from doing a good deed in Spain, Beyonce also broke a record in the country after 53,000 attended her sold-out stadium show. As That Grape Juice reports, this means the industry icon now proudly holds the title for the most attended concert by a solo female artist in Spanish history.

J. Cole’s Manager Calls Cap On Nearly $1M Payment From Lil Durk Rumours For “All My Life” Feature

Lil Durk’s Almost Healed album had an undeniably impressive opening week after its delayed debut. Of the LP’s 21 tracks, one title in particular continues to stand out as a favourite among listeners. Before sharing his work with the world, the Chicago native offered up a teaser in the form of a single called “All My Life” with J. Cole. The collaboration has earned both lyricists immense praise from fellow industry icons and fans alike across social media. According to rumours floating around online, the Dreamville artist took home nearly $1 million for the verse he put together for Durk’s track.

Earlier this week, @raphousetv2 on Twitter alleged that the 7722 artist handed over an astounding $978K for Cole’s contribution. Breaking down the math of the transaction, for writing and spitting 489 words, the North Carolina-born star was believed to have made $2K/word for the feature. Few came out disputing the claims, especially considering how prolific Cole has become over the years, however, his manager, Ibrahim Hamad, set the record straight on Monday (June 5) afternoon.

J. Cole’s Manager Enters the Chat

Though Hamad didn’t reveal exactly how much Cole did make off of “All My Life,” he did use a cap emoji to indicate that the gossip is fake. It’s been a minute since the “Wet Dreamz” hitmaker gave us a solo project (his last, The Off-Season, landed in 2021) so it’s entirely possible he and Durk made a verse-for-verse arrangement, and we’ll hear the 30-year-old on his friend’s next project.

Elsewhere on his Almost Healed album, Lil Durk connected with Alicia Keys, Future, 21 Savage, Kodak Black, Rob49, and country singer Morgan Wallen. He also shared a posthumous feature from Juice WRLD, who appears on track 17, “Cross The Globe.” Do you think J. Cole’s “All My Life” feature is the best work he’s done so far in 2023? Lil Durk “Almost Healed” Projected For Big First Week

It’s been a big couple of weeks for Lil Durk. In May, he pre-empted the release of his upcoming album by dropping “All My Life ft. J. Cole”. That single did numbers, peaking at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has been streamed, at the time of writing, nearly 60 million times. Furthermore, “All My Life” is out-streaming NBA YoungBoy’s Richest Opp by more than double.

However, what people were really looking forward to was Durk’s eighth studio album, Almost Healed. It would be Durk’s first album since March 2022’s 7220, which went platinum and spent two non-consecutive weeks at number one. Furthermore, both of Durk’s last two albums have gone platinum and his last three albums have peaked in the top-2. Safe to say, there were big expectations for Almost Healed. With the international charts published before Billboard, Almost Healed‘s best performance is currently in Norway, where it peaked at #10.

“Almost Healed” Is A Smash Hit

According to DJ Akademiks, Almost Healed sold 124,000 units in its first week. That’s a major success, especially compared to Richest Opp, which sold somewhere in the region of 58,000 units in its first week. While that number will be more than enough to put Almost Healed in the top 3, the question will be if it is enough to take the top spot. Morgan Wallen’s One Day At A Time has absolutely dominated the Billboard Album 200. The album has held the #1 spot for 12 weeks at the time of writing. Ironically, one of the tracks on Almost Healed has Morgan Wallen as a featured artist. Overall, Almost Healed features eight collaborations.

Furthermore, the top 5 is currently filled with a number of chart stalwarts. SZA’s SOS is currently at #2 and has been in the charts for 24 weeks. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift’s Midnights (31 weeks) and Morgan Wallen’s Dangerous: The Double Album (124 weeks) occupy #3 and #4. The only newcomer from last week to the top five is The Dave Matthews Band’s Walk Around The Moon. It remains to be seen if Lil Durk can become the first new artist to snag the #1 spot since mid-March. Follow all the latest music news here at HotNewHipHop.

DeMarcus Cousins Finds Second Wind In Puerto Rico

DeMarcus Cousins last played in the NBA in 2022. Across the 2021-22 season, Cousins played in 48 games in stints with the Bucks and Nuggets. However, the 32-year-old center was unable to find a team ahead of the 2022-23 season and began the new basketball year without a job.

Instead, Boogie took his talents to Puerto Rico’s Baloncesto Superior Nacional. Joining partway through the 2023 season, people are starting to take notice of his play in the league. Highlight reels showing dominant play from the journeyman have gotten people wondering if the NBA is missing out on Cousins’ talent. Despite this, Cousins’ actual stats telling a slightly dimmer, but in still impressive, story.

Is Boogie Actually Dominating In Puerto Rico?

Despite the impressive video reels, is Boogie actually a god in the Puerto Rican league? In short – not really. At 12 games played this season, he barely qualifies for statistical acknowledgment. His 21.0 points per game is good enough for sixth in the league. NBA journeyman Brandon Knight currently leads the league with an average of 24.2 points across 25 games. Boogie fares a little better in terms of rebounds, with his 10.2 per game good enough for fourth in the league. However, that statistical category is led by two-NBA blocks leader Hassan Whiteside with an average of 14 rebounds across 25 games. Furthermore, Cousins is second in average turnovers, at 3.4 per game. Additionally, while Cousins’ team, Mets de Guaynabo, is on a five-game winning streak, they are still only fourth in the league standings.

So no, Boogie has not become a god amongst mortals in the Puerto Rican league. Granted, he is putting together a very impressive season but not league-leading. Furthermore, looking at an NBA comparison this season puts Boogie’s (12-game) stat line on par with a slightly worse shooting Julius Randle (25.1 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 4.1 apg). Randle, while a solid contributor, was by no means an MVP candidate this year. Another comparison, and one at Cousins’ position, would be Domantas Sabonis (19.1 ppg, 12.3 rpg, 7.3 apg). So, unfortunately, while Boogie’s Puerto Rico highlights are impressive, his actual stats take a little bit of the shine off the situation. Follow all the latest sports news here at HotNewHipHop.

Lil Durk’s “Almost Healed” Projected To Sell 150K First Week, Tops Streaming Charts

Almost Healed might be one of the most anticipated hip-hop projects of the year, and it looks like it’ll be one of its most successful, as well. Moreover, reports broke that Lil Durk is expected to sell about 150K units first week with his latest album. Not only that, but it seems like the album is dominating the Apple Music and YouTube charts, as well. On the former, he currently holds the top spot on their albums charts, right in front of Taylor Swift’s Midnights deluxe edition. Still, publications project that The Voice will debut at number two, as Swift is expected to push around 300K units in the release’s first week.

Also, Lil Durk is all over Apple Music’s top songs chart, including previous singles and new collaborations and solo efforts. On the other hand, the video for “Therapy Session” and “Pelle Coat” with Alicia Keys sat at the top of the YouTube trending videos charts for music. All in all, it looks like this will be quite the momentous occasion for the Chicago MC. Given the deep topics and focused tracklist that he offers on Almost Healed, such accolades and success are fitting and heartening to see from his audience.

Lil Durk’s Streaming Dominance

In addition, Smurk went on a prolific press run as of late and graced fans with a lot of standout moments and revelations. In fact, one of the most comical and curious stems from his explanation of a viral meme that features him and Young Thug looking at a computer. While speaking to DJ Akademiks on the Off The Record podcast, he explained that he has a pact with Thugger to never reveal what they were looking at. “He told me not to tell nobody. That’s how you know we won’t snitch on each other,” Lil Durk shared.

Smurk Aims For 150K

Meanwhile, Almost Healed is sure to have at least one major highlight for you no matter where your rap taste leans. Fans of more emotive and somber rap, plus people from Chicago, likely appreciate his Juice WRLD collab “Cross The Globe” a lot, for example. Who knows, maybe it’ll catch even more steam in the next week and pull some even more insane numbers. If he sells 150K, it would his best-ever week so far regarding numbers. Regardless, stay posted on HNHH for the latest news and updates on Lil Durk.

Drake Sets A Historic Record In Spotify History Following “Search & Rescue” Success

There’s hardly a Billboard record that Drake hasn’t broke yet but the same can be said for his success on streaming platforms, such as Spotify. There’s no doubt that Drake is one of the most streamed artists in the world and the rapper continues to set new records with each release. Most recently, Drake reached a huge milestone on Spotify as the most streamed rapper in the world. Thanks to the success of “Search And Rescue,” which recently reached 100M streams on Spotify, Drake surpassed 80 billion plays across his whole discography on Spotify, per ChartData.

Drake’s pull on Spotify hasn’t gone unnoticed over the years. In 2021, Spotify declared Drake as the most-streamed artist in the U.S. with 8.6 billion on-demand streams. In addition, one out of 131 streams that year also belonged to his songs. Needless to say, Drake continues to reign supreme on Spotify and it seems like he could possibly continue his dominance in the near future. He recently debuted the long-awaited “At The Gates” ft. Lil Uzi Vert on Sound42 while fans have speculated that the release of Scary Hours 3 is near.

Drake’s History With Spotify

In a matter of months, Drake raked in another 5 billion streams on Spotify. Back in January, the rapper reached a milestone of 75 billion streams. However, Drake used the opportunity to urge streaming services to compensate artists for their success. “We should get bonuses like athletes to motivate the future artists to be consistent and competitive,” Drake wrote. “Feel free to send me a Lebron sized cheque. I have enough dinner plates.” Spotify has yet to respond but it’s certainly something that’s worth considering.

Besides his Spotify milestone, Drake is gearing up to embark on his first tour in nearly five years. The rapper and 21 Savage will hit the road for the It’s All A Blur tour across North America. The tour kicks off on June 29th at Memphis’ FedExForum before closing out at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena on October 7th. Hopefully, we’ll get some more music from Drake before then. Check out Chartdata’s tweet above and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Lil Durk’s “All My Life” Streams Better Than All of “Richest Opp”

There have been some major drops in recent weeks. First, there was NBA YoungBoy’s Richest Opp, a mixtape that he was hoping would become his 15th top 10 release. Then came Lil Durk’s “All My Life ft. J. Cole”, a single release that pre-empted the release of Durk’s upcoming album, Almost Healed.

Now, in this day and age, streaming numbers are just as important as physical sales. Spotify, the global streaming service, is one of the major sources of these streaming numbers, and some good news for Lil Durk has been revealed in recent days.

“All My Life” Dominates “Richest Opp”

Both Richest Opp and “All My Life” were released on May 12. The joint release sparked some fierce words, and a diss track, from YoungBoy. “Bitch-ass n***a, you pushed back, you bet not ever try it again,” YoungBoy said in response to news that Durk had pushed back the release of Almost Healed. Richest Opp also included a track that dissed Drake for associating with Durk. “Bitch, I send them hitters to hit at you, boy, don’t say shit to me. Talk to Drake, cross FaceTime, he wasn’t feelin’ me. Told me that he fuck with Durk, damn, that shit was gettin’ to me. Told me that he like the shit I’m doin’, but can’t do shit with me. So when we cross our ways, fuck what you say, bitch, you my enemy,” YoungBoy rapped on “Fuck The Industry Part 2”.

However, it appears that Durk has seen more success from his May 12 release than YoungBoy. According to Spotify’s streaming data at the time of writing, Richest Opp‘s 17 tracks have a combined 15 million streams. Furthermore, just four of the songs on the mixtapes have broken 1 million streams. Currently, the most popular song on the mixtape is “Bitch Let’s Do It” at 1,786,342 streams. By comparison, “All My Life” alone has 21 million streams. Both projects are yet to make their chart debut. Additionally, “All My Life” is projected to debut at #2 on the Billboard 100. Meanwhile, Richest Opp is expected to battle with The Jonas Brothers’ The Album for a top 5 spot on the Billboard 200.

Beyoncé & Jay-Z Make California History By Purchasing Most Expensive Home Ever In The State

Jay-Z and Beyoncé have been two of the biggest figures in the music industry for decades, and they’re showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon. 2023 finds the couple markedly making some of their most mature moves to date, with the mother of three recently embarking on her RENAISSANCE World Tour and teasing a new business venture into the hair industry. Hov, on the other hand, has been busy convincing the city of New York that his Roc Nation casino plans for Times Square are the right fit for them.

Amid all this, the Carters have somehow found time to finalize the purchase of a new home – one that also makes them record-breakers in the state of California. As TMZ reports, their new spot spans a whopping 30,000 square feet in Malibu, and it cost them $200 million. This makes it the most expensive home ever sold in the area, with the prior record being $177M. It came in second place in terms of the most expensive real estate deal in the country, falling short of a $238M NYC apartment deal. Seeing as the property was initially on the market for $295M, the southern singer and east coast lyricist got an incredible deal.

Bey and Jay Make Major Money Moves

The mansion is just one of many located on “Billionaires’ Row,” which overlooks the Pacific Ocean in Paradise Cove. It was designed by Tadao Ando, the renowned Japanese architect who’s also been linked to Kanye West’s new home in Malibu. The previous owner of Bey and Jay’s abode is William Bell, best known for having one of the biggest art collections in the world. He spent nearly a decade and a half building the all-concrete structure, which is now the new owner’s second property in the area.

In 2017, they purchased an $88M Bel-Air mansion which has since undergone extensive renovations to bump its worth into the $100 millions. Are you envious of the Carter’s record-breaking new home? Let us know in the comments, and check back in later for more pop culture/hip-hop news updates.

NBA YoungBoy’s “Richest Opp” First-Week Sales Projections Are In

As per usual, NBA YoungBoy is on a mission to prove himself as one of the hardest-working artists in the industry. This past New Music Friday the 23-year-old unleashed his third full-length project of 2023 so far, Richest Opp. It spans 17 tracks, just one of them including a guest appearance from Ten. Outside of that, YB handles things on his own, markedly dissing artists like Lil Yachty, J. Cole, and Drake throughout his bars.

Along with the release of his mixtape came plenty of drama for YB. Not only did he have to explain his “F*ck The Industry Pt. 2” bars to a confused Lil Boat, but he also pushed both Soulja Boy and Lil Durk’s buttons. The former popped off at the Louisana native in a wild Instagram Live session on Friday in response to a tweet. “Bring your p*ssy ass out the house. You can’t come outside. On God, you on house arrest. F*ck you talking about? Matter fact, you can text me the address. We’ll come to you, n*gga,” Soulja yelled into his phone as thousands of followers watched.

NBA YoungBoy Continues His Hot Streak

Aside from that situation, YoungBoy was also facing concerns about being outsold by Lil Durk this weekend. The father of six was planning on sharing his latest album yesterday as well but ultimately opted out in favour of sharing his joint single with J. Cole first. The “WTF” hitmaker was obviously incredibly pleased with this news, as he responded by sharing a video of him dancing, flexing stacks of cash, and giving Smurk a warning about what’s to come if he tries any similar stunts in the future.

According to the latest reports, NBA YoungBoy’s new project is on pace to sell 58K in its first week out. This is slightly lower than the 62K he moved with April’s Don’t Try This At Home, but is still impressive compared to what we’ve seen other artists amass as of late. What are your top three titles from Richest Opp? Let us know in the comments, and tap back in with HNHH later for more hip-hop/pop culture news updates.

“Super Freaky Girl” Goes Double Platinum, Nicki Minaj Celebrates

No one goes harder for Nicki Minaj than The Barbz, but that doesn’t mean the “Barbie Dreams” lyricist doesn’t ride for them too. An artist would be nothing without their loyal fans, and the mother of one made that abundantly clear when celebrating a new record set by her “Super Freaky Girl” single this week. Less than a year after it first landed on DSPS, the Rick James-sampling hit has achieved double-platinum status after amassing upwards of 390M streams on Spotify alone.

Upon hearing the news, Minaj shared a tweet from @chartdata with her followers to celebrate. “In a matter of months? Omg, Barbz, the bad btchs that you are!!!!!!” the 40-year-old praised those who endlessly stream her music. “Ugh! Your minds!!!!! #DOUBLEPLATINUM 1st #1 SOLO female rap debut since Lauryn Hill,” she further bragged. Interestingly, Nick Cannon recently included both The Fugees alum and Nicki in his female rap Mount Rushmore, even referring to the latter as “the GOAT.”

“Last solo debut since… Well, since me!” the former Young Money starlet further quipped, recollecting her numerous accomplishments. “Oh Barbz, you’ll always be famous 😉. Thank you, I love you so 🎀🦄💫,” Minaj’s message ended. Clearly, the achievement means a lot to her, and it’s certainly not the only one she’s accomplished as of late.

Just last month, the Trinidadian artist joined Ice Spice for the remix of her “Princess Diana” cut, which not only earned them plenty of praise but has also been doing numbers. At the start of the month, it was reported that the New York baddies’ first joint effort has already gone gold, and is likely to only continue earning more certifications into the summer as music lovers add it to their summer party playlists.
