Enchanting’s Cause Of Death Officially Revealed

In June of this year, Enchanting passed away unexpectedly at the age of 26. The Fort Worth rapper’s untimely passing left her fans, peers, and family members devastated. It also left them with a lot of questions about what led to the tragic loss. Now, the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has delivered some answers. According to TMZ, she died of an accidental overdose.

Reportedly, oxycodone and benzodiazepines in particular were found in the young artist’s system. While this information certainly doesn’t make her passing any less devastating, it does provide her supporters with some closure. Enchanting had a big future ahead of her, as she was signed to Gucci Mane’s 1017 imprint before her passing, with several high-profile collaborations already under her belt.

Enchanting Died Of An Accidental Overdose, Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office Says

Before her death, she worked with Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, Big Scarr, and more. According to her manager, she also has “a whole vault” of unreleased music, including several singles and an entire album. It remains unclear when fans can plan to hear it. Following the heartbreaking news of Enchanting’s death, her family released a lengthy and heartfelt statement about her life and legacy. “We are deeply saddened to announce the death of our sweet and beloved daughter. She lived her life with grace and blessed so many with friendship, laughter and love,” they wrote. “We also appreciate everyone’s respect of our family’s privacy as we continue to navigate through this difficult loss.”

Several artists also took to social media to pay tribute to Enchanting following her passing, including Erica Banks, Monaleo, Omeretta the Great, Yella Beezy, Tokyo Vanity, and more. He’s given physical music lovers the opportunity to have the 2014 mixtape on CD or vinyl. Additionally, the veteran hitmaker dropped some dope apparel and bundles to pair with tangible copies. Now, there is a chance that Travis takes DAYS BEFORE RODEO on a tour in the future.

This was hinted at during a special one-night performance, according to Hypebeast. Scott and Spotify collaborated for the “Spotify x Cactus Jack Present Days Before Rodeo”, and it was held at the Masquerade last night from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET. The venue can only hold 250-1,500 people, so this one-off show was for the true ragers. Spotify Fans First tickets were the first to go and did so completely in 15 minutes. Additionally, there was a general on-sale around 3 p.m. Videos, like the one below, are circulating on social media, and it seems like it was a lit night.

For those unaware, the former unfollowed the latter on Instagram and then told fans to stop asking questions about “other people” amid this drama. As such, many put two and two together, but this equation doesn’t really confirm whether or not there are real issues at play here. Nevertheless, DJ Akademiks recently responded to this during his livestream, defending the Trinidadian MC for her choices and for the way in which she’s conducting business with these artists.

Of course, Ak’s main point of defense for Nicki Minaj’s treatment of Ice Spice was to compare her to her Young Money partner and his fav, Drake. He said that Drizzy rubs a lot of artists the wrong way for taking control of publishing and masters, but the media personality justified this through the notion of the “Drake stimulus package.” He’s already defended this model to death before, so it’s no surprise that he understands why Nicki is moving in the way she’s moving. To be clear, this approach from a massive artist to a relatively smaller one isn’t necessarily an automatic point of condemnation, as any sort of deal in the music industry can turn sour if executed irresponsibly.
