Ka Releases “Such Devotion”, A Terrific Sampler From His New Album

Ka, a true one-of-a-kind MC hailing from the neighborhood of Brownsville, Brooklyn, New York, is back with “Such Devotion”. This is a brand-new offering from the firefighter who spits fire bars, and it’s his first release in about a year. The last time Ka put out a track was “Ascension”, however, the last time we got a project was 2022’s Languish Arts. Ka is putting an end to that dry spell too, as just a few hours ago he dropped an album called The Thief Next To Jesus. This bombshell comes courtesy of Stereogum, and the only way you listen to it is if you cop it on his website.

You can find the link to Ka’s page with the first “[Via]” link below. It’s available for $20.00 in digital form only. This is something that he has done throughout his career, and we encourage you to support his work. While we aren’t able to listen to the project in its entirety, we can tell it’s going to be fantastic based on the results of “Such Devotion”. Like all of his work, its self-produced and it’s incredibly high quality. The gospel-like sample flip over the drum-less beat is truly awe-inspiring and Ka’s bars about resiliency are all the motivation you’re going to need to tackle the day. The Thief Next To Jesus is 14-tracks and its his 11th album to date.

Flying Lotus Shows Love To A 90s Drama With New “Garmonbozia” Single

Flying Lotus is showing to love to the 90s mystery drama Twin Peaks with his new single, “Garmonbozia”. According to Pitchfork, “Garmonbozia” is a creamed corn like dish that represents “pain and sorrow”. We aren’t really sure what that all means, as our knowledge on the show is limited. However, it seems that the Los Angeles, California singer, rapper, and producer has a lot of love for the program that ran for two seasons and was canceled in 1991. In fact, back in 2017, Flying Lotus remixed the TV show’s theme. Also making this track extra special is that Steven Ellison (Flying Lotus) is laying down some blissful vocals.

The instrumental, which he handles too, is very synth/funk heavy. Overall, it has a Childish Gambino “Awaken, My Love!” feeling to it, but not in a cheap way. Lotus’s keyboard work on this single is truly heavenly and it will leave you levitating by the end of it. Furthermore, this single is quite special because it’s his first of the year. He had a busier 2023 thanks to his work with Smoke DZA on the Flying Objects EP and its eventual extended version. Currently, it’s unclear whether or not this signifies the start of a new LP rollout. However, with the latest album being three years old, there’s a chance Lotus finally ends the drought.

Rylo Rodriguez Adds A New Hit To His Solo Catalog With “85 Cutlass”

There are certainly a lot of rappers that are emerging in the Alabama scene. However, you could argue that Rylo Rodriguez is the next man up. The Glass Window Entertaiment (Lil Baby) signee does have a fairly limited catalog for someone who’s been around since 2018. However, these last couple years have shown he’s really coming into his own as an artist. He draws some inspiration from current and fellow Southern hip-hop legends like Future. You can definitely hear the influence on the latest Rylo Rodriguez single “85 Cutlass”.

It’s probably the most apparent toward the backend of the track, especially in the way his delivery sounds with the auto-tuned melodies. They do say the imitation is the greatest form of flattery. In terms of solo releases this year, this is Rylo’s first, surprisingly. 2024 seems to be a year of making connections for him, as he’s been on a feature rampage. He’s worked with Mobile native NoCap on multiple occasions, especially for his recent LP, Before I Disappear Again. Furthermore, he has work with Veeze, YTB Fatt, and Lil Baby. However, “85 Cutlass” may be his best work so far, as fans are loving the personal bars about fake friends, certain life experiences and advice and more. See why it has over half a million views in such a short time with the link below.

That Mexican OT, Currensy & Les Travel Back To “1982” On New Single: Stream

After destroying Denzel Curry’s “BLACK FLAG FREESTYLE,” That Mexican OT is still bringing some boisterous energy to the rap game through fiery verses. His latest example of this is his new collaboration with Curren$y and Le$, “1982.” Moreover, this track consists of a pretty smooth and crisp drum beat, distant but dramatic horns, and atmospheric embellishments. The Texas MC is as charismatic and confident as ever on this cut, showing off the credentials that landed him on the 2024 XXL Freshman Class.

Of course, That Mexican OT’s drowsy but powerful vocal delivery is a big part of this appeal, but on “1982,” he flexes some dynamic and well-structured flows with dominant skill. Le$ chills things out on the second verse with a more straightforward flow, and Curren$y’s appearance on the last third is even more woozy and engaging when it comes to his rhyme schemes. The “AR” MC got one with this single, and mixed hype with harmony in a pretty unique way.

That Mexican OT, Le$, and Curren$y will probably drop more material in 2024, and if it keeps building off the strength of cuts like “Talkin In Screw,” then we’re in for some treats. If you haven’t heard “1982” yet, you can find it on your preferred streaming service or check out the music video on YouTube below. Down there, you can also find some standout bars plus the comments section for you to leave your thoughts on the track. As always, stick around on HNHH for more of the hottest rap releases around the clock.

Afrobeats Producer Thisizlondon Releases His Debut Single “PINACOLADA” Alongside Ayra Starr & 6LACK

If you are not into the Afrobeats wave that’s happening right now, you may want to reconsider. There are so many exciting talents popping off right now both behind the mic and behind the boards. Two of them are on a new single together and its one we recommend you spin immediately. This weekend, producer Thisizlondon and Ayra Starr, as well as Atlanta R&B mainstay 6LACK, are uniting for “PINACOLADA”. This is the former’s record and it’s his first solo piece of music ever. However, he’s tons of experience, as him and Ayra are frequent collaborators. You may have heard the singer’s recent hit “Commas” and that is just one song that Thisizlondon has been on.

Other artists to work with him include Rema, Wizkid, Stormzy, Tiwa Savage, and more. Since this is london’s first-ever solo release, it was smart to grab someone who he already has a strong rapport with in the studio. It makes “PINACOLADA” that much better and it just seems that these two know what the other is thinking when it comes to ideas coming to fruition. Ayra effortlessly and sweetly sings across this summer night instrumental. 6LACK also delivers a great performance adding a bit of rapping element to breakup the flow in a good way. Yet, he still matches the rhythm of the beat just as well as Starr. If you need something to vibe to this is it.

I got you pulling up for the midnight rendevouz

Russ Isn’t Slowing Down Anytime Soon On “BREAK!”

You know just about what the deal is with Russ at this point. The man is on a mission to give his fans heat every week for well over a decade now. It’s why Russ naming his newest release “BREAK!”, is quite ironic. All the New Jersey native does is the complete opposite of what the song title says. You can almost always count on him to have some sort of material at the ready. That is partially thanks to his clever and engaging fan polls. He gives his listeners a handful of snippets that he’s teased and based on which receives the most votes, he will release it soon after.

So, yes, with this hectic release schedule, it can be hard to stay on top of which Russ single is the most recent. However, for his fans we are sure that they aren’t going to complain about being fed constantly. He’s been doing this for years for God’s sake. On “BREAK!”, the platinum recording artist is talking about his relentless work ethic. However, its more layered than that. He goes onto say how even though he wants to recoup for his mental and physical health, he knows he can’t because so many people count on him. Russ spits some real lines, especially about how being a man is great but difficult at the same time. “Head of the family, take care of my mom / Welcome to bein’ a man I guess / Always knew this was the plan I guess“. Huge props to Russ for this single, so make sure check this one out with the link below.

Yella Beezy & Lil Wayne Deliver Loads Of Hilarious One-Liners On “Hit”

Yella Beezy is ironically back with a new single featuring Lil Wayne called “Hit”. We say ironically because late last month, the Dallas, Texas rapper was accused of assault by four men after a Chris Brown tour stop in Fort Worth. They claim they were invited to a VIP experience and that the R&B singer ordered his entourage, as well as Yella Beezy, to settle things physically over old beef. As it stands, it seems that the lawsuit still has the possibility of going through, as there have been no further updates since the 26th. In terms of much these two artists are being sued for, it’s a healthy $50 million.

Overall, it seems that Yella Beezy is pretty confident he’s not going to be in any sort of trouble. This “Hit” record is his first of the year and it sees him work with Lil Wayne for the first time. What’s also cool about this track is that it might be a teaser to Beezy’s album. A Weezy fanpage by the name of lilwaynehq claims that the “That’s On Me” MC is dropping the LP sometime in September. However, we aren’t holding our breath just yet. In terms of the quality of “Hit”, its quite the riot. Both veterans bring a lot of energy and funny bars like these. “Got n**** poppin’ out like Janet Jackson titty, woadie“. That line alone is worth the price of admission.

Rich Amiri & Internet Money Collab For Addicting New Single “KEEP IT COOL”

Rich Amiri’s successful 2023 landed him a spot on this year’s XXL Freshman list. He put out two projects in Evolution and the immensely popular, Ghetto Fabulous. The latter contains some of his catchiest songs to date such as “OUTTA THERE”, “AINT NOTHING”, and of course, “ONE CALL”. For someone who is more known to be in the underground trap scene, pulling in over 336 million streams on one song is quite the feat. But this where the Boston, Massachusetts MC thrives. His uniquely deep voice and sticky flow patterns could boost him into the mainstream if he continues on this trajectory. It seems he’s staying on that path as “MADONNA & RIHANNA” is shaping up to be another fan favorite, with over 8.6 million streams already since its release in April.

With all of this momentum, Rich Amiri coming through on this “KEEP IT COOL” record is another W. On this single, he perfectly matches the tempo of the video game/gothic instrumental. It may sound like a weird mashup of ideas, but it the rage-like beat absolutely slaps. “KEEP IT COOL” does have Rich Amiri attached to it, but this is actually an Internet Money release. The California-based fleet of producers is supposedly working on a new album via the founder, Taz Taylor. That shuts the previous belief that this track was going to be for WAR READY, Amiri’s forthcoming project.

Chance The Rapper Goes On Rhyming Spree On Joey Purp Link-Up “Bad Boys 2”

A couple of days ago, Chicago rap superstar Chance the Rapper had some things he needed to get off his chest. Specifically, in relation to his forthcoming “album”, Star Line. We say “album” because he doesn’t find it respectful of his fans to keep asking him to “drop the album”. In fact, he finds it incredibly confusing and if they keeping asking for the project in this manner, he may shelve Star Line for good. “Stop calling it the album. And I don’t mean that in an ungrateful way. I’m grateful that people are putting in my comments, ‘Drop the album’. I’m not going to drop the album until y’all start calling it Star Line“.

He is asking for this favor because he sees this record as something more than just another LP. “But what I’m doing is something different. It’s something very specific. It’s called Star Line“. All of this and more was conveyed via an Instagram Live. However, just 48 hours later, Chance the Rapper is back with a supposed track from Star Line called “Bad Boys 2”. Him and Joey Purp collab here, and you can tell that the Acid Rap MC was having a fun time writing playful bars and multiple rhyme schemes for his verse. If you check out the music video below, you’ll catch some hints of the Bad Boys movie franchise as well.

Jean Dawson & Lil Yachty Deliver Emotionally Excellent Single “Die For Me”

Jean Dawson and Lil Yachty are two of the best when it comes to working in multiple genres. The former has done so on multiple occasions this year already on songs like “New Age Crisis”, “fIT chECK fREEsTYle”, and more. As for the Georgia native, you just have to look at Bad Cameo and Let’s Start Here. With their respective risks under their belts, Lil Yachty and Jean Dawson are forming an alliance on this new single, “Die For Me”. On this track, both are singing and rapping passionately over a grand instrumental that continues to raise its intensity level each second.

Essentially, Dawson and Yachty don’t want anyone to remember them, especially if they aren’t willing to lay their own life down for them. Additionally, the message could be for a woman or anyone that claims to be close to them. “I bet somebody love me, no / After I’ve died, we’ll see / Don’t show up at my funeral / If you won’t die for me“, Dawson belts on the chorus. Yachty also puts in memorable and crazed performance, as he notches another successful collaboration for 2024. “I can’t fathom you being with no other / I love you more than I love my mother / Love your mother ’cause you came from her / I’m a psycho, but it’s ’cause I love you“.
