Pusha T, Chad Hugo, & BENEE Join Pop Band Phoenix For Remix Of “All Eyes On Me”

Pusha T’s career in hip-hop is one of the greatest of all time. It all started with his duo Clipse back in the early 1990s. He and his brother, No Malice were a great pairing giving us phenomenal tracks. Then, they eventually split and Push went on to forge his own path. It is been nothing short of an amazing run. He is most known for his coke raps and aggressive tone on the mic.

However, what some fans might not know is that the Virginia native has done a fair amount of crossovers with non-hip hop artists. Back in 2013, he teamed up with Justin Timberlake for the “TKO (Black Friday Remix).” While it did include other rappers A$AP Rocky and J. Cole, it was still an unexpected moment. One year later, Push and EDM producer Hudson Mohawke remixed “Chimes.” Now, he is back hopping into other genres with the indie pop band, Phoenix.

The France band put out a song called “All Eyes On Me” last year. It landed on their record Alpha Zulu. Pitchfork shared that Pusha T and Phoenix first previewed this remix this summer at the We Love Green Festival. It also grabs producer from The Neptunes, Chad Hugo, as well as singer BENEE. This is certainly a unique collaboration, but give it a spin with the link above.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new remix of Phoenix’s track “All Eyes On Me” with BENEE, Chad Hugo, and Pusha T? Is this better than the original version? She and Nicki Minaj teamed up for a pair of top 10 hits with their “Princess Diana” remix and “Barbie World” from the Barbie movie soundtrack. She also scored a major team-up with Taylor Swift. The pair released a remix of Swift’s song “Karma” which also soared into the top 10.

Jamila Woods Links Up With Saba For Incredible Single, “Practice”

One of the most underrated singers and songwriters from Chicago, Illinois is back with one more taster from her upcoming album. The artist we are referring to is the 34-year-old Jamila Woods. It will be her third album in her roughly six-year career. It is a follow-up to her sophomore record from 2019, LEGACY! LEGACY! That is quite a long gap between releases, but Jamila is clearly being very meticulous with Water Made Us. It is slated to be out this Friday, October 13.

It is shaping up to be one of the busiest Fridays for new music this year. While there is a chance that it does not rack up a ton of streams, we know the quality will be exquisite. So far, Jamila has proved that to be the case with the singles leading up to the 13th. Our first taste of the direction she seems to be going in was with “Tiny Garden” back in July. Following that, we got “Boomerang,” which was a sad and gorgeous track at the same time. Then, on September 13, Woods released “Good News.”

One of the better lyricists of this generation, he is also a Chicago kid. That connection shines through as both bring cute and witty performances about a relationship just getting started. Jamila’s project is shaping up to be something special.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand new track from Jamila Woods and Saba, “Practice?” Is this the best single for her upcoming album Water Made Us? Peezy Enlists Ty Dolla $ign, Larry June, BabyTron, And More For New Album “GHETTO”

Peezy’s strong year continues with the release of his brand new album, GHETTO. It is the Detroit MC’s 22nd (!) project to date, showing how quick and hard-working he is to get material out to his fans. This fast turnaround is nothing new for Peezy, considering he dropped five tapes in 2017. For 2023, the rapper already has two other LPs out now.

The first of them was a collaborative effort with Baltimore rapper Yg Teck on February 17. That was a 15-track album. The second was a shorter effort, standing at just eight cuts. Interestingly though, it is also called GHETTO, which was put out on April 21. This newer GHETTO is more of a full-fleshed-out set of songs. None of them from the one back in April appear in this October edition.
