Lupe Fiasco Lives Up To His Promise, Delivers “3,048” Over Andre 3000 Production From “New Blue Sun”

Lupe Fiasco, the legendary Chicago rapper, stated a couple of days ago that he would give the fans what they wanted. In a tweet just last week, he said, “Gonna rap all over that 3stacks album and put it in the time capsule for future generations.” Many people were very excited about this seeing as Lupe can rap basically over any type of instrumental. That includes all sorts of live instrumentation, heavy 808s, or boom-bap beats. Well, he has officially lived up to that promise, as we have the first taster as to what we can hope to expect. Of course, the Andre 3000 album he is referring to is his all-woodwind instrumental project, New Blue Sun.

The eight-song LP has been well-received by the music community as even into the 48-year-old’s career, ‘Dre is still reinventing himself. There are so many other unique characteristics of this effort. The song titles really do not have a lot of meaning and are essentially sentences. They might mean something to Andre, though. Additionally, each song is around 10 minutes in average length.

He has plenty of ties to that storied series of films with tracks like the viral “See You Again.” It is one of the most viewed music videos on YouTube of all time.

While it is rare that rappers do clean songs they work out well, especially for movie soundtracks. However, this song with Charlie Puth just had something about it. The emotionally charged chorus and the relatability factor in the lyrics made it stand out. For this latest effort from Wiz, it is not really hitting the same buttons.

While the message of the track is relatable the vocals are a bit all over the place. J. Stone Drops Underdog Anthem “Foundation” With Nipsey Hussle, B.H., And Hit-Boy

J. Stone and Nipsey Hussle have been boys for a little while, especially after being signed by the late rapper’s label, All Money In No Money Out. The music world tragically lost Nip back in 2019 and is great to see his legacy still live on four years later. The latest way to check out the deceased rapper on a new track is on Stone’s newest record, The Definition Of Success. It is the last installment in the Definition series.

They both appear on one of the tracks called “Foundation.” However, they are not the only two guests on the cut. Stone also has recruited superstar producer Hit-Boy as well as B.H. to join him for a bit of an underdog anthem. The beat is really hard-hitting and has a triumphant feel.

Travis Scott Announces He’s Been Making New Music While On Tour

Travis Scott is currently right in the middle of his Circus Maximus tour. He’s currently in Austin, TX for a pair of shows and he’s been on the road since early last month. The trek will last even longer than originally anticipated as well. Earlier this month Scott announced 11 more dates added on to the end of his run pushing the tour all the way to the end of January with a finale date in Orlando on January 31.

But earlier this week, Scott made a compelling revelation to fans. He took to his Instagram story to share that he’s been working on new music “B4 every show.” Given the long wait for UTOPIA following the release of Astroworld, Travis Scott’s fans are likely hoping they don’t have to wait anywhere near as long for new material again and this is promising news. In the comments of a repost of the Instagram story fans speculate on what he might be working on. “i can’t wait for this to drop in another five years,” says one fan. “we need him back on his yearly release sh*t,” another more optimistic fan comments. Travis Scott’s new album UTOPIA was a major undertaking. The feature-packed project’s release was accompanied by an entire film called Circus Maximus that aired in theaters ahead of the album dropping. But earlier in the process, the album could have been an even larger undertaking. In a recent interview, Scott revealed that he originally wanted the album to be an entire musical, but at some point, that idea was scrapped.

Over the weekend, Travis Scott popped up for a new feature on one of the biggest current hits on the charts. Tyla’s song “Water” dropped earlier this year and has been steadily climbing up the Hot 100 for weeks. In fact, a few days ago, they teased a song called “Vultures” with Bump J and Lil Durk. Today, the song was officially released, however, Durk was nowhere to be found. This was surprising to a lot of people, and the fans were subsequently looking for answers. Even Durk ended up speaking out, or at least it seems that way. In the Instagram story below, you can see Durk talk about the fact that he always remains humble.

Hopefully, he isn’t too upset about the whole thing. Ye is always changing things around at the last minute, and he does not care who might be affected.

Kanye West and Ty Dolla $ign have been teasing a new joint album over the last few weeks. Firstly, the two began working on this album in Italy. However, it seems as though the project has transitioned over to Saudi Arabia. Ye is working on the album out in the desert, and fans are excited to hear the whole thing. Although there could very well be some delays here, it does feel like an album is on the way. After all, a new song called “Vultures” was teased just a few days ago on social media.

Well, luckily for fans, the song has now officially made its way to streaming services. Below, you can listen to the song on Spotify. Originally, the song was going to have Lil Durk. However, he is nowhere to be found here. Instead, the only feature is Bump J. Some fans may be a bit disappointed by this. That said, Ye is known for making these kinds of executive decisions at the very last moment. Fans should not be shocked by it anymore.

As for the song itself, it has that typical Kanye bounce to it. He knows how to sample extremely well and the textures in his songs are always interesting. In fact, one might argue that he carries the song here.

Lil Wayne And 2 Chainz Share Music Video For “Oprah & Gayle”

Earlier this month, Lil Wayne and 2 Chainz released their highly anticipated collab album Welcome 2 Collegrove. The project saw the pair officially collaborating on an album together for the first time and they delivered 21 tracks and nearly an entire hour of material. The project is also sporting some impressive features with 21 Savage, Usher, Benny The Butcher, Fabolous, Vory, Rick Ross, and Marsha Ambrosius all appearing.

Last week, the duo released the visual for one of those high-profile collaborations. They shared the music video for “Transparency” with Usher which has racked up more than 600k views in just a few days. But now they’re back with yet another video for a high-profile collaboration from the project. This time it’s the song “Oprah & Gayle” which features an appearance from Griselda rapper Benny The Butcher. In the stark black and white video the trio each take viewers through their unique worlds. The extent of collaborators recruited for the album even goes beyond the artists it features. Metro Boomin Shuts Down Rumors That Andre 3000 Played The Flute On “Mask Off”

Over this past weekend, Andre 3000 put out something that many fans had been yearning for. That was his first-ever solo album. However, after over a decade of waiting a lot of people were severely disappointed when he announced there would be no rapping. But, there was still a large amount that excited, regardless that three stacks would be playing woodwind instruments across the record. After listeners have had some time to sit with the idea and New Blue Sun being released, the music world is loving it. Leading up to it, his interviews had some wondering about his other solo contributions and Metro Boomin was one to take advantage of that.

We are referencing Andre’s sit-down with GQ, in which he said this. “I’ve actually played some wind things that I’ve put out in the world that I called myself another name under different artists that are out there that, you know, I was just kinda testing it out in a way. From known artists, and they’ve been cool about keeping it secret.” Because of this Metro thought he could be a little tongue in cheek. He claimed that Andre played the flute that you hear on him and Future’s smash hit, “Mask Off.”

However, we now know that it was all jokes. According to Uproxx, Metro cleaned up the mess he created by addressing an Instagram post from Complex. It included a video of Metro claiming that one-half of OutKast was on the flute for the track. The media publication took it further, making it out that Andre did have a hand in the production. The super producer had enough and maybe took a debatable shot at everyone who thought he was serious. Under the post, he commented, “How are you all even considered a real news outlet?”

Saucy Santana Fires Back At DJ Akademiks After Being Clowned For Low Streams On Diss Track: Watch

The latest episode in the beef between Saucy Santana and DJ Akademiks turns up the temperature just a little bit higher. Over the past couple of weeks, the rapper and controversial social media figure have been trading shots for a multitude of things. What really got it started was because of DJ’s longstanding beef with City Girls rapper, Yung Miami. Saucy has had a close rapport with Miami and he wanted to defend her.

Ever since then, things have gotten more and more intense as the weeks have progressed. Saucy has quite frankly had enough of the music critic. So, the Connecticut native decided to lay down some bars for him to put the 32-year-old in his place. According to the rapper, he dropped the track exclusively on Apple Music. On top of that, there was little to no promotion besides a little bit of a teaser video, so it was a pretty low-key release. Then, Saucy put it on Spotify a little later on November 10. In the nine days it has been out, it only garnered around 8000 streams and DJ had a field day with that.

However, he apparently walked right into the artist’s trap. “We don’t care about the streams. This song was for no Billboard,” he says. The song was for the streets. One person says, “This has to be the funniest beef in hip-hop history.
