BabyTron Brings His Performance Of “New Year, Same Tron” To Times Square

With 2024 finally upon us, music fans are excited to see what their favorite artists have to offer creatively this time around. One of the people who is always bringing something new and experimental is BabyTron. He continues to improve by the week it seems. Last year he came through with a handful of projects, including MegaTron 2.

He was also impressive teaming up alongside JID and Lil Yachty on “Half Doin Dope.” BabyTron possesses a lot of great qualities as an artist. He can be funny, and serious, all while finding unique pockets on his colorful beat choices. On the outside, he may seem like another run-of-the-mill rapper, but he is far from that.

Listen To “New Year, Same Tron” By BabyTron

To kick off the new year, the Michigan native came out with a new track called “New Year, Same Tron.” He brings some great rhymes to the forefront over to a dreamy beat. One of the coolest things about this is the music video. Tron was in Times Square for the ball drop on New Year’s Eve. That would also be the shooting location for his impromptu video shoot. There are some funny parts where spectators have some questionable stares. The cops are also directing him to stay within a certain boundary. But, hey, whatever it takes for the fans.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new single, “New Year, Same Tron,” by BabyTron? Where does he rank amongst the newer crop of rappers? Is he now officially a star artist, why or why not? Is this song near the cream of the crop when it comes to his best work? How do you feel about the music video being filmed on New Year’s Eve in Times Square? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. BabyTron Wishes Us A Very “MERRY S**TMAS” On New Single & Music Video: Stream

Before we close out 2023, let’s take a look back at an underrated holiday rap song that dropped on Christmas Day this year. It comes from none other than Michigan rap leader BabyTron, who had a pretty prolific and hectic year. In addition to his own solo projects, he, StanWill, and TrDee finished their collaborative tape series as S***tyBoyz with Trifecta 3: The Finale. Speaking of that collective, which the Detroit native always reps, he did the same on this new Christmas song, “MERRY S**TMAS.” It’s available exclusively on YouTube as a music video as of writing this article, and flips the “12 Days of Christmas” melody and song structure.

Of course, the track adds some rapid and deep kicks, sharp snares, and muted rattling hi-hats to give it that Detroit bounce. BabyTron is flowing on “MERRY S**TMAS” as quickly as ever, working in some funny turns of phrase and narrative moments throughout his verse. In fact, he often likes to work with this sort of planned structure, specifically writing bars for a given set of numbers or with a certain theme. Unsurprisingly, the “Mr. Hanky” MC delivers once again here, even working in a tempo slow-down with casual ease. His flows and wordplay are pretty idiosyncratic and beloved at this point, showcases by albums like MegaTron 2.

Meanwhile, this has also been a pretty big year for the 23-year-old in other ways that further his career. For example, he featured on JID and Lil Yachty’s “Half Doin Dope” and had a killer verse on there. Hopefully BabyTron will bring us many more gifts in 2024 that continue to cement his status as a new generation star. Bas Is Stranded In The Desert In New Visuals For “Dr. O’blivion”

Sudanese rapper and singer Bas’ new album We Only Talk About Real S*** When We’re F****d Up is continuing its torrent run. It is still doing well because we are here to talk about it once more. This project is a lot of fun to listen to, dissect, and just vibe out with. Bas delivered a multitude of atmospheres and topical focus. It makes it arguably his best full body of work in his rock solid career.

Over the past week and a half or so, we have touched on some of our personal favorites from the LP. “Black Jedi,” “Risk,” and “Decent” were the ones that stood out at HNHH. However, you also have heavy-hitting collaborations with J. Cole. Bas not only had Cole perform on the mic, but also behind the keyboard. He had a hand in the deeper cut “Dr. O’blivion.”

It is an easy and relaxing track with a mellow guitar and swaying groove. Bas’ flows are great on it too. It just makes you feel like you are on vacation in a tropical location. With the success of the song, Bas has just dropped the music video for it. It seems him lost in some desert on the side of the road, as he hitchhikes. This is now the sixth set of visuals for the album.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new music video for “Dr. O’blivion” by Bas? Is this the best set of visuals he has ever put out for a song? If not, is it at least the highest quality video for We Only Talk About Real S*** When We’re F****d Up? Is this the best track from the album, why or why not? If not, what would you put over it? BIA Drops Visuals For “FALLBACK,” Travis Scott Pops In For A Brief Cameo: Watch

BIA is a popular rapper in the current landscape, but it feels she does not get the right amount of credit. Her first big hit “WHOLE LOTTA MONEY,” put her on the map in 2021, but the Massachusetts product has been in the game since 2016. But, that song did slow down her passion for the music. In 2022, she broke through with another smasher, “LONDON.” That saw her and J. Cole drop some entertaining verses, with Jermaine flexing his British accent.

In 2023, BIA is keeping up her momentum too. She did so with her second project, REALLY HER. “LONDON” landed on it but also featured songs like “FALLBACK,” for example. It is a song that features a great flow and cadence from BIA, as well as solid writing. “That’s just the principle, baby, I’m takin’ b*****s to class / I’m startin’ to feel like the principal, baby (Yeah, yeah), I wouldn’t give you a pass.”

Check Out The Music Video For “FALLBACK” By BIA

The song just got the music video treatment about a day ago. BIA is in a Las Vegas casino with her girlfriends gambling and living the life. However, around the 1:00 mark, someone appears for a brief moment to play some games. It is none other than Travis Scott. It may come as a surprise to see them collaborate, but they do have a song with Lil Blessin called “Likka Sto 2.” Maybe, this could mean that one of them lands on a track of their own.

What are your initial thoughts on this music video for BIA’s “FALLBACK?” Is this the best song from her 2023 project, REALLY HER? Do you prefer the new INTL DELUXE, or the original version? Will Travis Scott appear in a BIA track down the line, and would be down to hear them on a track together? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. With that in mind, be sure to leave all of your hottest takes in the comments section below. Kodak Black’s Experimental Visuals For “2’CY” Draws More Questions Than Compliments

Kodak Black is one of the most interesting characters in rap today. Not only for his oddball personality but also for some of the material he puts out. The Florida native has been active yet again this year with two full-length projects to his name. Firstly, he put out Pistolz & Pearlz back on May 26. That album ran over an hour and six minutes with a 21-song tracklist. It was his last project under the umbrella of Atlantic Records. It would only take him another five and a half months before his presumedly last tape of 2023.

Three singles would promote Kodak’s more personal record When I Was Dead. One of those was a song called “2’CY.” It was a melodic cut that featured the rapper’s warbly flow. The production had a hint of Jersey club inspiration and can be seen as more of a softer cut. This is a reason why the reactions to these visuals for the single are putting the creative inspiration of Black in question.

Watch Kodak Black’s Haunting Music Video For “2’CY”

The video features a young boy who stumbles across a haunted house, with a little girl feasting on a dead body and Kodak’s head rapping in a fridge. The vibes clashed oddly and fans were not feeling it. XXL gathered some reactions to the imagery, with one saying, “This respectfully is the [worst] song yak ever made.” Another goes, “Why everybody making headless videos?? What’s the message n****?” Kodak has not responded to the reactions and he most likely will not. This may take the cake for the weirdest music video of the year.

What are your initial thoughts on this brand-new music video for “2’CY” by Kodak Black from When I Was Dead? Is this the best track from this album, why or why not? Do you think Kodak missed the mark on the visuals, especially considering the tone of the song? We would like to hear what you have to say about all of this. The release of SET IT OFF is paying dividends for Migos affiliate, Offset. After dropping his solo debut FATHER OF 4 four years ago, a lot of fans were clamoring for more individual material. Drake Drops A Surprise Music Video For “Polar Opposites”

Drake’s For All The Dogs has been a controversial release once again. That was especially true at the initial release, but it seems the tone is changing. More and more listeners are starting to see what Drizzy was going for on this record. So much so in fact, that the album recently surpassed one million units sold in the United States. All of the success is attributed to the amount of hits across the tracklist. You have the obvious ones like “Slime You Out,” “First Person Shooter,” “IDGAF,” and “8am in Charlotte.”

Additionally, Drake dropped the deluxe version, For All The Dogs Scary Hours Edition. That too had an effect on the performance. Of, course, music videos are a natural byproduct of a new album or single, and Drake wanted to bring another one out. The first one was “8am in Charlotte” which featured some cameos of his son Adonis.

We also received ones for “Another Late Night,” and “First Person Shooter.” Now, Drake is back with one for the closing R&B cut, “Polar Opposites.” The visuals are moody and somber, sort of like the song. It features the Canadian rapper singing on a balcony overlooking the gorgeous night sky. There are also shots of him and some friends playing billiards while wearing red leather jackets.

Tory Lanez Drops “The Color Violet” Visuals, Reveals Release Date For “Alone At Prom” Deluxe

Tory Lanez is obviously in the midst of serving his 10-year prison sentence after the Megan Thee Stallion debacle. However, he is as eager as ever to push out new material. Just moments ago, we found out that the Canadian rapper and singer sent out a tweet expressing this urge to get more music to his fans. The message simply read, “I Think .. Ashton’s Back #AloneAtPromDeluxe :)” At the time we did not have anything else to go off of. However, that all changed not too long after. Not even an hour ago, Tory posted a clip from a music video and another revealing note on his Instagram.

The visuals were for the music video for the Alone At Prom smash hit, “The Color Violet.” It currently sits at nearly 550 million streams on Spotify. It is a late-night cruising anthem that was a part of the 80s transformation that we saw seem to dip into on the record. Clearly, it is still resonating with listeners that Tory decided to put out a video for it nearly two years later.

NBA YoungBoy Drops Surprise New Single & Music Video, “Slime Examination”: Stream

NBA YoungBoy is hand-down one of the most prolific rappers working right now, and to no one’s surprise, he’s still down to keep that work ethic up. Moreover, he just dropped a surprise new single and music video, “Slime Examination,” and it’s a doozy to say the least. The likely divisive track might be a single to the Baton Rouge MC’s upcoming fourth album of 2023, Decided 2, which will be a sequel to his previous 2018 project. Even if it’s not, the music video shows a good indication of where he’s at in his life right now: cars, some female friends, family, luxury within a closed circle. It’s exactly the kind of aspirational but also at-arms-length presentation that YB embodies.

However, you may be wondering why we predict that this will be a divisive track. That’s because YoungBoy’s vocals around the choruses and bridges is very shrill, perhaps the most strained that his voice has ever been up against a melody. Still, for all his online haters, you can’t deny that it isn’t at least a passionate performance from him. Lyrically, the 24-year-old talks about trying to find a balance between the streets, grief, his family, and his career. If you know his personal history and how he’s requesting a change in his house arrest due to his mental health, you know how hard the intersection of these topics hits.

NBA YoungBoy’s “Slime Examination”: Watch The Music Video

Meanwhile, the instrumental here is pretty basic for the “Heard Of Me” artist: sad guitar licks, dry trap rhythms, and an overall minimal atmosphere. It might not be the best beat ever, but for hardcore fans, his vocal performance might be enough to carry it over the edge and increase hype for Decided 2, which drops next week (November 10). On that note, if you haven’t heard “Slime Examination” yet, find it on YouTube, as it isn’t on traditional streaming services as of writing this article.
