Don Toliver was arrested for driving under the influence near the San Fernando Valley, on Tuesday morning, according to a report from the California Highway Patrol cited by TMZ. Officers say there were clear signs of impairment and that they gave him a citation on the scene rather than bring him to the station. Law enforcement sources for the outlet say police turned him over to another party who was present and sober. He was also fully cooperative throughout the incident. Further details are unavailable.
The arrest comes less than a month after Toliver and his partner, Kali Uchis, welcomed their first child together. In a joint post on Instagram sharing the news, the couple wrote: “You are everything we could have hoped for & more. Thank you God for our beautiful healthy baby boy, & thank you all for the Good energy along the way. May our home & your homes forever be blessed with peace, happiness & health.”

Despite the pregnancy, fans can still expect new music from the couple. Toliver confirmed he’s got an album in store for the summer during a recent Instagram post. “Album This Summer. It’s mine. HardStone Psycho,” he wrote.
Uchis also said she’ll be hard at work on new music during an interview with ABC News in January. “I think just being a working woman in general is hard,” she said. “There’s so much pregnancy discrimination. I don’t want to be a stereotype of like, ‘Oh, I’m just gonna stop working now.’ It’s just reminding myself like I don’t owe it to anybody. Chechnya, a republic of Russia, just made an interesting legal move in terms of music: As NPR reports, Chechnya just announced a ban on music that is not within a certain tempo range. Artists will reportedly have until June 1 to re-write music that’s not in line with the new rule. It’s not currently clear how the new rules will be enforced.
The Chechen Ministry Of Culture announced the ban last week, by the order of Culture Minister Musa Dadayev and with the agreement of Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.
Dadayev said that “musical, vocal and choreographic” works must be 80 to 116 beats per minute in order to “conform to the Chechen mentality and sense of rhythm.”
Dadayev also said, “Borrowing musical culture from other peoples is inadmissible. We must bring to the people and to the future of our children the cultural heritage of the Chechen people. This includes the entire spectrum of moral and ethical standards of life for Chechens.”
As NPR notes, songs that don’t fit within the specified BPM range include “I Will Always Love You” by Whitney Houston (68 BPM), “Imagine” by John Lennon (76 BPM), “Hello” by Adele (79 BPM), “Here Comes The Sun” by The Beatles (129 BPM), “Cruel Summer” by Taylor Swift (170 BPM), “16 Carriages” by Beyoncé (127 BPM), and “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana (117 BPM).
The publication also notes that this ban will have an impact on a number of genres: “Electronic styles of music like house, techno, and dubstep all tend to have BPMs of over 116, says the audio tech company Izotope, while the average tempo of 2020’s best-selling pop songs was 122 BPM, according to the BBC.”

This listening experience remains scheduled to take place in Saqqara during 2024. When Live Bitez posted the video on Instagram, fans were loving the energy. “Her and boosie need to have a podcast together with one good moderator,” one user commented. Drake and J. Cole are both right at the heart of the biggest story in rap music right now. Last month, Future and Metro Boomin dropped their new album WE DON’T TRUST YOU which featured the song “Like That.” During his guest appearance on the track, Kendrick Lamar took shots at both rappers claiming that there’s no such thing as a “big three.” J. Cole was the first to deliver a response in song when he dropped his surprise Might Delete Later mixtape over the weekend. Though the album did contain shots at Kendrick, Cole apologized just a few days later. During his Dreamville festival set he took back his claims about Lamar and apologized.
That’s why it’s no surprise to hear that Drake was in an awkward position over attending the festival and performing alongside Cole. During a recent episode of the Rory & Mal podcast, Mal revealed that he asked the rapper if he would be at Dreamville Fest and got an unsure answer. Drizzy wasn’t sure if he would show up of if they would even want to perform “First Person Shooter.” Given what Cole eventually did during the festival it’s probably no surprise that Drake was unsure if he wanted to be on-stage with him. Earlier this week, a message Drake left on a whiteboard had fans speculating that he could be responding to Kendrick soon. The message spoke on the competitive nature of hip-hop and the lack of peace that comes with it. I am sure that there are those in the stan community who would love nothing less than to see her unhinged shipping fantasy come true. Megan Thee Stallion has already given herself the “Best Ass On Instagram” title but she isn’t done claiming superlatives. In a post on Twitter (not X), Thee Stallion teased her family’s upcoming appearance on Family Feud with another grand declaration, saying, “This might be in the top 5 of best family feud episodes. I CANT WAIT FOR YALL TO SEE THIS.”

There’s a photo of a whiteboard of a message supposedly from Drake making the rounds. As XXL notes, Akademiks claims the whiteboard appeared backstage at one of Drake’s shows. The message reads, “The rap game will never be at peace. There will always be competition. And as long as there’s competition, there will never be peace. Everyone wants to be the one.”
In a livestream yesterday (April 8), Akademiks claimed he shared a video of Cole’s apology and got a response from Drake. Akadamiks said, “I sent the video of what this f*ck n**** did. I said, ‘Please, don’t do no sh*t like this. Please, don’t apologize and do no weird sh*t.’ [Drake] said, ‘I can’t f*cking believe you would pull up and say some sh*t like that to me. You must not know me.’”
