Normani Announces Release Date For Debut Album “Dopamine”

Today, Normani unleashed her eagerly anticipated track with Gunna, “1:59.” The steamy single is set to appear on the songstress’s debut studio album, Dopamine. Along with the release of the collab, Normani unveiled new details of the project, including the release date. Dopamine will arrive on June 14, 2024.

The performer already unveiled the album’s cover art back in February, only further building anticipation. If the rest of the LP is anything like its lead single, it’s safe to say that it’ll be a hit among fans, who are raving over the Gunna collab on social media. According to Normani, it feels like a culmination of the entire journey she’s taken to get to this point in her career. In a recent interview with Jasmine Fox-Suliaman for Who What Wear, she likened it to “liberation.”

Dopamine Arrives On June 14, 2024

“The album feels like liberation, like a season of freedom. Not just because the record is finally coming out, but because it’s a celebration of everything I have been through to get to this moment,” she told the outlet. “During this process, I heard God say to me, ‘Trust me. I know you’re afraid, but trust me anyway. Dare to trust me anyway. Now is the time.’” Fans certainly agree, and can’t wait to hear what she has to offer on Dopamine.

As for her “1:59” collaborator Gunna, he’s also hearing up to drop a new project. Earlier this month he shared the project’s title, ONE OF WUN, as well as what appears to be its cover art. He’s yet to announce an official release date, however, keeping fans on their toes. The project will follow his 2023 LP a gift & a curse. Are you looking forward to hearing Normani’s debut album, Dopamine? What do you think of her new track “1:59” with Gunna? JT Fans Think Her New Song “Okay” Sent Shots At Cardi B, Fans Debate

One of the saddest realities of femcee rap beef is how the industry often turns these women against each other rather than encouraging all of them to pursue their artistry and careers without feeling the need to “pick a side” or put other women down in the process. Whenever there’s new alleged feuding on the horizon, skeptical scrutiny is always necessary. Moreover, JT fans are debating whether or not a bar on her new song “Okay” was aimed as a diss towards former City Girls collaborator Cardi B. “She ate crab legs, now her whole tooth missing,” she raps on the cut. “Cheap a** veneers, you stay talking s**t / Put a marker to this b***h, she’s so counterfeit.”

Furthermore, some fans think this seems to reference a Cardi B video from last month in which she appears with a tooth missing and explains that “one of [her] veneers came out while chewing on a hard-a** bagel.” For those unaware, these two rap superstars had beef back in 2022 over some exposed DM exchanges and ghostwriting accusations. Eventually, Hollywood Unlocked‘s Jason Lee mediated things and they squashed it out, so there’s no current reason to believe there’s much of a feud. After all, there was also a recent video of JT turning up to Bardi’s new single “Enough (Miami)” from this year… but most people don’t think that’s the City Girl at all, so it’s probably just fake news.

JT’s Alleged Shots At Cardi B On “Okay”: Listen

With this in mind, there are a lot of bizarre, unconfirmed, and purely speculative events or interpretations that could inform this bar (which admittedly seems quite direct) and other actions, statements, clips, and art. However, we can’t talk about that without talking about the main “civil war” that folks will always rope femcees into nowadays thanks to alleged (and sometimes confirmed) tension between Nicki Minaj and Cardi B, which mostly manifests when it comes to these artists’ fanbases. For example, the former recently brought out JT during a Pink Friday 2 tour stop. As such, maybe one could assume loyalties thanks to this development.

Regardless, the Florida native has to work out her issues with her fellow City Girl, Yung Miami. While things seem to have patched up between them, it’s never a good look for a duo to have, especially as they move more and more solo. But we’ll see whether this is just an artistic change or if there is actual tension there. On that note, stay logged into HNHH for more news and the latest updates on JT and Cardi B.

Doja Cat Warns Parents To Stop Bringing Their Kids To Her Concerts

Some of Doja Cat’s biggest hits like “Kiss Me More” with SZA and “I Like You” with Post Malone have an admittedly bright and happy demeanor. But the closer you pay attention to either song the more apparent it may become that they aren’t exactly family friendly. Despite that Doja has apparently seen quite a few kids attention her evocative new tour. It got to the point where she felt the need to share a message with her audience on Twitter about it.

In her tweet she asked people to stop bringing their children to her shows. “idk what the f*ck you think this is but i don’t make music for children so leave your kids at home motherf*cker” her tweet reads. The post currently sits with over 30k likes proving that many of her fans are getting the message. In the comments fans share their shock that parents would bring their children to one of Doja’s shows. They cite specific lyrics from her songs and actions she’s taken in the past. The evidence seemingly make it clear her content is made for adults. Check out the post and depth of fan responses to it below.

Doja Cat Doesn’t Want Children At Her Shows

Doja Cat is fresh off of back to back weekends of headlining Coachella. She delivered a career-spanning setlist of some of her most beloved songs. Additionally she was joined by guests like A$AP Rocky, 21 Savage, and Teezo Touchdown. Doja made the live debut of some of the songs from her recently released deluxe edition of last year’s Scarlet album. The album was one of her most successful yet. Scarlet scored two smash hits in “Paint The Town Red” and “Agora Hills.”

Doja Cat has often had a contentious relationship with her own fans. Last year she lost hundreds of thousands of Instagram followers after declaring war on her own biggest fans calling themselves Kittenz. What do you think of Doja Cat calling out parents for bringing their children to her shows? Do you think she should implement some kind of age restriction on who can get into her shows? R Kelly’s Child Pornography Conviction & Sentence Upheld In Chicago Court

In February of last year, R Kelly was sentenced to 20 years behind bars for alleged sex crimes involving minors. 19 of the years were to be served concurrent with the sentence he was already serving. The year prior, he was handed 30 years for a federal racketeering conviction in New York. He’s since tried to appeal his conviction and 20-year sentence in Chicago, appearing in court today to learn his fate.

The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals shot down the appeal, upholding both his child pornography conviction and sentence. The news comes after the performer’s defense argued that the statute of limitations had passed in an attempt to get the conviction dropped. Clearly, the court wasn’t buying it, highlighting the “horrible, horrific” nature of his alleged crimes.

R Kelly To Remain Behind Bars

The court also referred to his 30-year sentence for alleged racketeering out of New York as the “elephant in the room,” claiming that the alleged child pornography sentence was determined with it in mind. Kelly’s currently in the process of appealing his New York conviction. If he wins the appeal, this likely means that he’ll still serve the remaining 18 years of his sentence out of Chicago.

“Our fight is not over,” R Kelly’s lawyer Jennifer Bonjean told TMZ following the decision. “We will see review from the USSC (SCOTUS) on the statute of limitations questions at a minimum. And he has habeas remedies at his disposal. And if we win in NY. He will be entitled to resentencing in Illinois. So this story is far from over.” What do you think of R Kelly’s conviction being upheld? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Summer Smash 2024 Lineup

No matter what niche of the genre speaks to you the most, there’s at least something here to latch onto, and it also builds off of a lot of established hype this year for many of these MCs. Travis Scott, for example, just performed at the Mercedes-Benz showcase, and will likely bring even more of that luxurious and larger-than-life energy at Summer Smash. Playboi Carti seems no closer to dropping his new album, but the hype for it hasn’t died down one bit, either. As for Sosa, even though Chief Keef has delayed Almighty So 2 multiple times, he remains as beloved as ever and still fed fans with his DIRTY NACHOS tape.

Meanwhile, who are you (or would you be) most excited to see on this Summer Smash 2024 lineup? Are you looking forward to these artists’ next or current moves? Let us know all your takes about this blockbuster festival down in the comments section below. Killer Mike And Offset Pay Homage To Late Dungeon Family Producer Rico Wade With Their ‘Exit 9’ Remix

Killer Mike pays homage to his late friend and fellow Dungeon Family member Rico Wade with a remix of his Michael standout “Exit 9,” now featuring Offset in addition to Blxst.

While much of the song remains unchanged, Mike reworks a line in his first verse to salute the fallen producer, rapping, “It hurts like hell to say but rest in peace to Rico Wade / He soundtracked the day when me and Slee were serving J.”

Offset also taps into his own recent loss, channeling grief for late Migos bandmate Takeoff along with other family members gone too soon: “Oh, my brother, look in the air, I see an angel done fly,” he intones. “15 years, brother gone, every day momma cry / Grandma died, I wish I could go back and get time.”

Wade was reported dead at the age of 52 earlier this month, with the New York Times printing a statement from the producer’s family. “We are deeply saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of our son, father, husband, and brother Rico Wade. Our hearts are heavy as we mourn the loss of a talented individual who touched the lives of so many.”

He touched those lives in large part due to his role as the focal point of the Dungeon Family, the Atlanta-based collective that included such pioneering acts as Mike, Future, Goodie Mob, and Outkast. The group’s name was taken from its recording headquarters in Wade’s mother’s basement, where the crew coalesced around a love of hip-hop and soulful, out-of-this-world beats created by Wade’s production trio, Organized Noize.

Metro Boomin’s Joint Album With JID Is ‘Still A Thing,’ The Producer Assured A Concerned Fan

Hitmaking producer Metro Boomin’s recent successes with Future aren’t distracting him from his future plans. As the hip-hop world continues to reel in the wake of the chaos caused by We Don’t Trust and We Still Don’t Trust You, and prepares for Future and Metro’s We Trust You tour, the producer is maintaining his full docket of previously promised projects, including one that fans have been eagerly anticipation since its was first teased early last year.

Metro himself confirmed that his joint project with Atlanta rapper JID, which they originally announced last March, is “still a thing” in response to a concerned fan’s tweet. After @raptalksk wondered, “is that metro boomin & JID album still a thing?” Metro allayed their worries with a concise response: “very much so.”

The first word of the project came last year, when Metro tweeted, “Got a lot of new music but when me and @JIDsv drop 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😵‍💫.” Fans were hyped for a new JID song produced by Metro until JID himself corrected the speculation, revealing that they were actually working on a full album.

Since then, both artists have periodically updated the status of their plans but don’t expect this thing to drop tomorrow; JID teased a 10-song project titled Forever And A Day dropping before the joint project with Metro, while Metro said he plans to release at least three albums in 2024. While one of those could be his project with JID, Metro is also said to be heavily involved in ASAP Rocky’s upcoming album Don’t Be Dumb.

Still, that gives us even more great music to look forward to this year. Stay tuned.
