The Game Left With “Chills” After Lil Wayne Freestyles At Fugees Concert

The Game says that he “got chills” after seeing Lil Wayne perform a freestyle during a cameo appearance at the Fugees’ recent concert in Los Angeles. He remarked as such in a comment on Instagram when Rap Marathon shared a video of the performance. In the clip, Wayne raps over the Fugees‘ “Ready Or Not” beat, remixing it with his own lyrics.

The Game wasn’t the only one with a positive reaction to Wayne’s freestyle. Other fans shared plenty of excited responses in the comments section as well. One wrote: “Daaaaamn wtf we need that remix on streaming platforms … Weezy da [goat emoji] no [cap emoji].” Another added: “It’s amazing that we grew up listening to him and he never once fell off, he was confident in his ability so much so, that he ventured into rock. Had a hit, and just kept pushing. Absolute pioneer in the rap game.”

While fans were loving Wayne’s appearance, the overall response to Lauryn Hill’s tour hasn’t been universally positive. Other attendees have complained about the artists’ tardiness to shows. Hill responded to those complaints during the Los Angeles show. “They say, ‘Oh, she’s late’ and ‘She’s late tonight,’” Hill said. “Yo, y’all are lucky I make it to this bloodclot stage every night.”

Blueface Makes It Known That Jaidyn Alexis Is Popping: “Jaidyn Is Booked Till 2024 Sorry Guys Inquire For Next Year”

Blueface is not a humble man, to say the least. But, who actually thinks that he would be? If there is one thing to know about the California rapper is that he is all about causing a stir on social media. Again, it is something we already are aware of, but it is usually for the wrong reasons. However, we will give Blueface some credit here. He is trying to explore other avenues to become a successful businessman. If you have been keeping up with him lately, he is really trying to make his music label a formidable entity in the space.

While there are no major names, he does have social media powerhouses. Lil Mabu, Chrisean Rock, and a few others are on MILF Music. One of those others is his new “Rock” so to speak, Jaidyn Alexis. Her new song “Barbie” has been gaining a lot of traction online and part of the reason is due to her fiancée.

That is where we have to applaud Blueface for that. He seems to be going places with his label. Alexis is blowing up so much that now she is totally booked until next year. While it is not that long, it is a sign of growth for the couple. Blueface made sure to let everyone know that he and his soon-to-be wife are tearing it up on Twitter. “Jaidyn is booked till 2024 sorry guys inquire for next year.” “Y’all so mad it’s working out I love it so much success is the best victory.” Even though he has every right to celebrate, fans are dragging them. For example, one says, “Booked and busy with a song she don’t even know? Ooh ok 😭😂

What are your initial thoughts on Blueface’s tweets about Jaidyn Alexis’ availability heading into next year? Will she become one of the biggest female artists in the game? Chrisean Rock Returns From Social Media Break To Take Shots At Tamar Braxton

Chrisean Rock may have picked the wrong time to step away from social media. She made the announcement earlier this week though fans were already skeptical right away how long she would actually be gone. Consequently Rock has often relied on social media drama to drive attention to her music and reality tv show. In the short time she was gone, Tamar Braxton emerged to make a variety of claims about her that she just couldn’t help but respond to.

Only a few days after originally claiming she would leave social media, Chrisean Rock returned. Subsequently she went on Instagram Live to refute some of the things Tamar said and clear things up about an altercation that happened at one of her recent shows. “I’m that b*tch and I’m covered,” she said on live. The second part is specifically clapping back at Braxton’s call for “Justice for James” after an altercation during one of Rock’s recent shows. Check out the original allegations and Chrisean’s response below.

In the comments, fans cracked jokes at Chrisean’s short break. “That wasn’t a hiatus. That was a commercial break,” one of the top comments reads. “Did chisean not say 24hrs ago she’s deleting all social media ?” and “Lmfao she came back just to say that ? If god got you covered why you have to state that to us. If God rlly working on ya life you don’t have to prove nothing to anyone” other comments read.

Before deciding to take a break from social media, Chrisean was busy on the platform. Last week she bragged about how her two year old has a band account with over $500k in it. She seemingly said that in response to Blueface sharing a video of him cuddling with their son. What do you think of Chrisean Rock breaking her social media hiatus after less than two days? YNW Melly’s Murder Retrial Delayed Once Again

YNW Melly’s murder retrial has been pushed back to February 5, 2024. According to Law & Crime, Judge John Murphy made the decision earlier this week after prosecutors requested a delay. In doing so, he cited “extraordinary circumstances” warranting the extension. The trial was originally set to begin a month earlier.

Melly’s mother reacted to the news in a post on social media, Monday. “Lawsuits, lies, delayed trials, overdue bill, seeing death everyday at work but have no choice but to work,” she wrote on her Instagram Story. “Broken heart, sadness, stress, tears, fears, 5 years.”

YNW Melly Booked In Florida

FT. LAUDERDALE, FL – FEBRUARY 13: In this handout photo provided by the Broward’s Sheriff’s Office, rapper YNW Melly, real name Jamell Demons, is seen in a police booking photo after being charged with two counts of murder in the first degree February 13, 2019 in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Demons allegedly conspired with Cortlen Henry to fatally shot two other Florida based rappers, Christopher Thomas Jr and Anthony Williams, October 26. (Photo by Broward’s Sheriff’s Office via Getty Images)

The prosecution requested a delay in the trial’s start date, earlier this month, citing several reasons. “Throughout the defendant’s 20+ pleadings and in court hearings, the defendant complains of the number of witnesses that must be deposed as well as the many motions that must be heard,” prosecutors wrote in one motion. “The defendant complains that the state has filed motions after the court’s discovery cut off, yet the defendant himself has also filed motions after this date. Several of the state’s motions are a result of the defendant’s new criminal activity.” They added: “It is abundantly evident that the defendant is not ready for trial.”

Another primary reason for the delay is the jury selection. Due to an error on the part of the defense, the process needed to be restarted, last week. Melly’s team had incorrectly instructed the jury that they needed to find the rapper guilty of everything of which he’s accused to proceed with a guilty verdict, which isn’t the case. Be on the lookout for further updates on Melly’s upcoming trial on HotNewHipHop.

Grammy 2024 Nominees: A Look At Best Music Video

The Grammy for Best Music Video was first awarded to Duran Duran in 1984. Since then, several artists across different genres have won the prestigious award. However, throughout its history, only seven artists have won in this category twice. At the 2024 Grammys, Kendrick Lamar’s impressive acting in his “Count Me Out” video has the chance of making him the first artist in history to win this award three times.

Additionally, there are three first-time nominees and one previous winner in this category. With all five nominations being excellent music videos, this is pretty much anybody’s game. The competition is stiff, but it’s been a good year for music videos, and each nominee certainly deserves recognition in this category.

“I’m Only Sleeping” – The Beatles

Music enthusiasts the world over know who The Beatles are. The legendary group needs no introduction, and neither are they foreigners to the Grammy stage. One of the most iconic bands of all time, The Beatles have released music since 1962. Even though they disbanded in 1970, their musical legacy remains very much alive. Their discography contains many live and studio albums, EPs, mash-up albums, and singles. They are veterans of their craft and are largely respected in the music industry.

Among their many awards and accolades, The Beatles have won seven Grammys out of 23 nominations. One of the seven was the Best Music Video award for “Free as a Bird” in 1997. “I’m Only Sleeping” was initially released as a part of the group’s 1966 album, Revolver. However, a music video was not shared until November 2022, 56 years later. Created and directed by Em Cooper, the music video is an oil-painted masterpiece. With each frame individually painted by Cooper, it took many months to complete. A win for “I’m Only Sleeping” in this category at the 2024 Grammys would secure the 24th statuette for The Beatles and the first for Em Cooper.

“In Your Love” – Tyler Childers

Tyler Childers has been performing since he was a teen in 2010. After releasing his debut single and two EPs between 2011 and 2014, he subsequently broke through with his sophomore album. Purgatory was released in 2017, and since then, the neotraditional country musician has been on a steady rise. Besides a hiatus in 2021, Childers released an album every year from 2019 until 2023. His most recent offering, Rustin’ in the Rain, contains the Grammy-nominated “In Your Love.”

While Childers was previously nominated in the Best Country Solo Performance category back in 2018, he unfortunately did not win. This year, however, he bagged five nominations, with three for “In Your Love.” The stirring music video for the heartfelt song tells the bittersweet story of two star-crossed lovers. It has received praise for representing the LGBTQIA+ community and was brilliant enough to earn a Grammy nomination for Best Music Video. If Childers wins this award at the 2024 Grammys, he will be a first-time winner in the category.

“What Was I Made For?” – Billie Eilish

Released as a part of the soundtrack album for the blockbuster live-action Barbie movie, “What Was I Made For?” has become a sleeper hit. It comes as no surprise, as Eilish has built a reputation for releasing smash hits over the last few years. While she had never been nominated in the Best Music Video category until now, Eilish is no Grammy rookie. In 2020, Eilish famously swept up four of the biggest awards of the night in the general category.

Subsequently, she has won two more awards and is looking to take home some more at the 2024 Grammys. The music video for “What Was I Made For?” is a simple yet profound offering. It tells a beautiful tale that perfectly ties into the story of the movie it was made for. If Eilish snags this award at the ceremony next year, it would be her first win in this category.

“Rush” – Troye Sivan

Troye Sivan first gained popularity on YouTube, posting videos in 2007. The Australian singer has come a very long way since then. After coming out as gay in a YouTube video in 2013, he has come to be regarded as an icon in some circles in the queer community. Three albums and several tours into his career as a musical artist, Sivan has finally received his first Grammy nominations. “Rush,” the lead single from his third album, Something to Give Each Other, was released on July 13, 2023.

Concurrently, the music video dropped on YouTube and has amassed over 21 million views. The video, one of Sivan’s best yet, is an unabashed celebration of queerness and queer culture. A Best Music Video win for Sivan at the 2024 Grammys would be his first in the category and his first ever. He is also nominated in the Best Pop Dance Recording category, so he could potentially win two Grammys on that night.

“Count Me Out” – Kendrick Lamar

Kendrick Lamar has been described as a generational talent, and we couldn’t agree more. The rapper has released classic after classic for years, and his discography is one of the most excellent in modern Hip Hop. His latest album, Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers, was released in 2022 to widespread critical acclaim. “Count Me Out” appears on the second half of the album, and its music video was released on December 22, 2022.

Lamar has won several much-deserved Grammys throughout his career. Among them are two Best Music Video awards for “Bad Blood” (with Taylor Swift in 2016) and “Humble” (2018). A third win in the category for the rapper would be unprecedented, making him the most awarded artist in the category. The music video for “Count Me Out” is brilliant, so if it does win, it would be deserved. However, the same can be said for every other nominated music video. We’ll let the Recording Academy decide and find out on February 4, 2024.

Ice Spice Dropped A Lower Back Tattoo Photo To Tease That Something Having To Do With ‘Y2K’ Is On The Way

Ice Spice is a star, but she doesn’t have a debut album yet. She’s done well on the back of her 2023 EP Like..?, which in its longest form, the deluxe edition, has 11 tracks clocking in at a total of 22 minutes. Fans want more, though, and are hopeful to hear about when her debut album will arrive. We still don’t know when that will be yet, but today (November 14), Ice appeared to tease something new coming next year.

The rapper took to social media to share a new photo of herself, posing with her lower back exposed to show off an ornate tattoo in the region. She captioned the post, “Y2K! ?/?/24,” seemingly teasing something (perhaps a song or album called “Y2K”) with a release date at some point in 2024. Given that Ice’s birth date is January 1, 2000 (the first day of Y2K), it’s possible she has something on the way on the first day of 2024. This is all just speculation based on the post and relevant context, though, and it’s not yet clear what exactly is going on here.

Speaking of showing skin, Ice made waves this past Halloween with a revealing Betty Boop costume. There were also rumors earlier this month that she went on a super pricey date with Jordan Poole. She was awesome at Camp Flog Gnaw this past weekend, too.

J. Cole’s Manager Responds To Fans Pleading For Shows In Bigger Markets

There have been plenty of truly massive tours this year across all genres of music. Taylor Swift, Beyonce, Travis Scott, and more have been rocking stages all across the globe. Drake is also among those names, but now he is going back for seconds after dropping For All The Dogs. While this would still be a great thing for music fans to have Drizzy go back on tour solo, J. Cole joining him just makes it all the more special.

It was announced just a handful of days ago as the It’s All A Blur Tour — Big As The What? Tour. Drake is going to make up some dates from his first tour according to HipHopDX. Both J. Cole and Drizzy are hitting the road in Denver on January 18. Then, it will end in Birmingham, Alabama in late March. While fans are stoked some are scratching their heads as to why the tour is focused on heading to small cities. Well, Cole’s manager, Ibrahim “IB” Hamad, addressed those questions.

J. Cole’s Manager Expresses Excitement To Go Back To Smaller Markets

In the tweets above, you can see that he wanted to make one thing clear. That focus was to show love to places they performed at when they were getting started. IB replied to one fan asking why there are no Washington D.C. shows. “I feel your pain [laughing emoji] but this is not a major city run.” He continues, “The run is for the secondary market we don’t get to go to as much and do shows like how we use to. All Love to DC though.” Then, he replied to those thanking him for bringing the stars to those who cannot make it to other locations. “Gotta pull back up to some of those markets we use to grind through on the come up. Can’t wait to see those cities again, been a minute.”

What are your initial thoughts on J. Cole’s manager, Ibrahim “IB” Hamad, response to the fans asking about why fans in bigger cities are not getting tour dates? Do you think they are making a mistake by going to smaller cities? Are you going to any of the tour dates? We would like to know what you have to say about all of this.
