Back in November, Chrisean Rock was invited to join Tamar Braxton onstage at her show in Baltimore, but things quickly took a turn for the worse. The Baddies star reportedly grew frustrated after being ushered off the stage by venue staff, as she was under the impression she’d be allowed to perform. As a result, she allegedly took her anger out on background singer James Wright Chanel by punching him in the face.

Chanel, who describes himself as an “innocent bystander,” has since confirmed that the alleged attack caused serious damage to his teeth. He’s also pressed charges against Chrisean. During a recent appearance on The Jst Us Podcast, Chanel reflected on the debacle, revealing that it continues to have a negative impact on his mental health.

James Wright Chanel Recalls Chrisean Rock Punching Him

“I be getting emotional when I talk about this,” he began. “I’m still trying to figure out why this happened. Why did this happen to me? I wasn’t in an argument with anyone, I wasn’t going back and forth or arguing with anyone, none of that… What I walked in on was that with other people, not me.” Chanel went on, describing how he feels the effects of the punch to this day. “I would wake up out of my sleep crying and not knowing why,” he explained. “So when I contacted the therapist she said it’s trauma, trauma will wake you up out of your sleep… The thing is I could have lost my life. You know, the right hit, you could be out of here… When I go to sleep I still see the moment.”

Chrisean Rock Seemingly Slams Alleged Assault Victim For Pressing Charges

Back in November, Chrisean Rock attended a Tamar Braxton concert in Baltimore, where things allegedly went very wrong. A backup singer for Braxton, James Wright Chanel, accuses Chrisean Rock of punching him in the face backstage. Reportedly, she had been under the impression that she’d be able to perform some of her own songs and was upset when she was promptly rushed offstage. Wright claims that he was simply standing nearby when the Baddies star decided to take her anger out on him, chipping his tooth in the process.

“Chile, I was an innocent bystander,” he explained at the time. “I don’t know what be wrong with people, I really don’t.” Chrisean initially denied any wrongdoing, chalking up Wright’s claims to “clout chasing.” Earlier this month, however, the singer decided to take things a step further by formally pressing charges.

Chrisean Rock Appears Confident

Now, weeks after Wright filed, Chrisean appears to have responded on Twitter/X. She took to the platform last night to seemingly slam Wright for taking legal action against her, making it clear that she’s confident she’ll come out unscathed. “Dis big back b*tch n***a think he finna get a cent out of me b*tch you know you just wasted yo money on dat damn lawyer right,” she wrote. Obviously, she doesn’t plan on coughing up any kind of cash. As social media users point out, however, she may not have a choice.

Of course, this is far from the only drama going on in the world of Chrisean Rock. Earlier this week, for example, a former Blue Girls Club contestant named Bonnie Lashay came forward claiming to be pregnant with Blueface’s child. Chrisean Rock’s Alleged Tamar Braxton Concert Victim Presses Charges

In November of last year, Chrisean Rock made headlines for allegedly punching a backup singer in the face at a Tamar Braxton concert. Now, it appears as though she’s facing legal consequences. Reportedly, she had been under the impression that she would be allowed to perform some of her own songs at Braxton’s show, but was whisked offstage before she could do so. This upset Chrisean, prompting her to allegedly take her anger out on a nearby target. The unfortunate alleged victim, James Wright Chanel, accuses her of punching him in the nose and chipping his tooth in the process. Reportedly, he filed against her yesterday (February 6).

Shortly after the incident, Chanel took to social media to share his side of the story, claiming to have been nothing but an “innocent bystander.” Chrisean later addressed the allegations on social media, seemingly denying any wrongdoing. “I don’t get disrespectful till you get disrespectful,” she Tweeted. She later chalked the debacle up to “clout chasing” on Instagram Live.

It was nothing between me and Tamar… I don’t know, it was just like wicked stuff started happening.” Amid the fallout from the incident, another one of Braxton’s team members, LeTroy, came forward in Chanel’s defense. He insisted that Chrisean be held accountable for her actions, which he said resulted in backlash from the Baddies star’s fanbase. Allegedly, her supporters even started showing up at his house after he spoke out against her.

Chrisean Rock Returns From Social Media Break To Take Shots At Tamar Braxton

Chrisean Rock may have picked the wrong time to step away from social media. She made the announcement earlier this week though fans were already skeptical right away how long she would actually be gone. Consequently Rock has often relied on social media drama to drive attention to her music and reality tv show. In the short time she was gone, Tamar Braxton emerged to make a variety of claims about her that she just couldn’t help but respond to.

Only a few days after originally claiming she would leave social media, Chrisean Rock returned. Subsequently she went on Instagram Live to refute some of the things Tamar said and clear things up about an altercation that happened at one of her recent shows. “I’m that b*tch and I’m covered,” she said on live. The second part is specifically clapping back at Braxton’s call for “Justice for James” after an altercation during one of Rock’s recent shows. Chrisean Rock is mostly in denial about her role in the drama at Tamar Braxton’s Baltimore concert his past weekend. The 23-year-old appears to have mistaken the show venue for the Baddies house, as she punched backup singer James Wright Chanel several times after finding out she wasn’t a part of the R&B star’s setlist. Practically everyone but Braxton has spoken out at this point, but on Monday (November 13) evening, a video appeared online in which she confirms Rock is responsible for traumatizing her friend and colleague.

“I wasn’t going to say anything out of respect for James,” the reality starlet began. “He got assaulted at my show, and it was by Chrisean,” she specifically noted before sharing that several events resulted in the chaos that ensued that night. Before getting into the real tea, Braxton acknowledged her team and how much she loves them. “I’m not a clout chaser, I don’t need that,” the 46-year-old said, seemingly addressing Tommie Lee’s post about Rock’s antics being the only reason why the performance went viral.

James Wright Chanel Confirms Assault At Tamar Braxton Show, LeTroy Drops Chrisean Rock Receipts

We’ve heard Chrisean Rock share her side of the story regarding the alleged assault of James Wright Chanel at Tamar Braxton’s weekend concert. Now, the victim is giving us some insight into his perspective, though he didn’t specifically name the new mother as his attacker. After everything unfolded on Friday (November 10) in Baltimore, Wright went Live (while hiding his face from the camera) to confirm that at least some of the rumours circulating are true.

“Chile, I was an innocent bystander,” Braxton’s backup singer said of his involvement in the blowout. He laughed while delivering the news, noting that it’s important to still find the joy and humour in things if possible. “I don’t know what be wrong with people, I really don’t,” he reflected. It’s likely Chanel was referring to Rock’s decision to reportedly punch him in the face after finding out she wasn’t performing during Tamar’s concert.

Elsewhere, LeTroy, – a member of Braxton’s team who shared one of the initial stories about the drama – responded to Rock’s video denying any wrongdoing with a screenshot of his text interaction with someone from her management. “Hey LeTroy, nice to meet you. Tamar had told Chrisean that she wanted to bring her out tonight,” the latter confirmed.

While it was agreed upon that the Baddies cast member would come on stage, nothing was said about an actual performance. This seems to be where the confusion led to violence.
