Crip Mac Arrested, Faces Federal Gun Charges

When Crip Mac went to Los Angeles County court on Tuesday (December 5), he ran into an unexpected problem. A judge agreed to drop gun charges against him stemming from a September 3 arrest for being a person with felony convictions in possession of a firearm. However, according to Billboard and an alleged indictment and court records, U.S. Marshals arrested N3on’s rival seconds after the judge ruled this. While the state charges were no more, they moved his case up to federal court and the U.S. Attorney’s office. Currently, the South Los Angeles resident and expectant father is reportedly held in pretrial detention, and his next scheduled hearing is set to take place on Monday (December 11).

Furthermore, shortly before the Marshals took Crip Mac in, the court looked at a two-month-old indictment against him. The For The Love Of Lena contestant faced charges of possession of an unregistered weapon and ten rounds of ammunition, which is especially illegal with his history of felony convictions. “Defendant possessed such ammunition knowing that he had previously been convicted of at least one of the following felony crimes,” the indictment read.

Crip Mac’s Gun Charges Move Up To Federal Level

What’s more is that he was also arrested on similar charges in July of 2022 and October of 2021. Crip Mac’s other arrests include for attempted second-degree armed robbery in November of 2017, grand theft in August of 2015, and transportation of a controlled substance in October of 2014. A California attorney unrelated to the No Jumper guest‘s case, spoke to Billboard about how this arrest, moving from state to federal jurisdiction, is common. “Sometimes, local authorities become frustrated by lenient sentencing for people who are prolific [offenders], so they request the feds review for prosecution,” Briggs explained. “This puts more prison time in the discussion.

“The worst case is he gets folded into a larger gang conspiracy and RICO case involving murders,” he continued. “In that case, it’s likely life in prison. It’s possible, depending on the specific facts of his case, he could do 10 years [for just the gun charges]. Then, there’s Halle Bailey’s to-buy-for list, which features Beyoncé and Oprah. What does one get for two people who can buy essentially anything they’ve ever wanted? That’s the situation Bailey faces right now, and she asked Jimmy Kimmel for some help.

Bailey was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (December 7) in promotion of her role in The Color Purple, and towards the end of the chat, they talked about Oprah Winfrey (a producer on the movie) and building a relationship with her. Kimmel wondered if Bailey has to buy her a Christmas present, and Bailey responded, “So that’s really hard to think about, because I’ve been thinking about all my Christmas presents I have to give this year, because there’s so many people that have helped me on this journey of this whole year: Beyoncé, now Oprah’s one of them. And it’s so hard to think of: What could you get them? Do you have any ideas? Because I don’t know.”

Kimmel had an idea ready to go quickly, but that speed came at the expense of quality: He responded, “Well, you know, everybody likes a popcorn bucket. Maybe find out what their favorite team is. Beyoncé’s from Houston, maybe get her an Astros popcorn bucket?”

After offering a couple more ideas (fancy pretzels and bath soaps), he asked Bailey how his attempts were landed and she gave a polite, “You know, they’re OK.”

A cruel twist of fate would be Bailey thinking gifts like those are beneath Beyoncé and Oprah, but it turns out they’re used to fancier things and would therefore actually appreciate a change of pace with a more humble present. Doja Cat Announced As Headliner Of Rock In Rio Lisbon Festival

The festival already has an impressive roster with pop sensations like Camila Cabello and Ed Sheeran on board as well as major rock acts like Scorpions and Evanescence. In the announcement of Doja Cat’s inclusion on the roster, the festival expressed significant excitement. “To have Doja Cat headlining our lineup for the first time in Portugal is a privilege! She shares a lot about her former public relationship with Justin Timberlake in the book, even once accusing him of using a “blaccent” when chatting with Ginwuine.

“Sometimes, I think they tried too hard to fit in,” Spears wrote of NSYNC. “One day, J and I were in New York going to parts of town I’d never been to before. Walking our way was a guy with a huge blinged-out medallion. He was flanked by two giant security guards. J got all excited and said so loud, ‘Oh yeah, fo shizz, fo shizz. Ginuwine! What’s up, homie?’” she alleges.

For obvious reasons, her story got social media users talking. It managed to invoke plenty of secondhand embarrassment, with countless commenters calling it disrespectful and strange. During a recent interview with PEOPLE, however, Ginuwine addressed Spears’ story, claiming that he personally doesn’t remember it. “Yeah, yeah, I definitely heard about it. People were calling about that. But I can tell you I don’t remember that happening. I truly don’t remember that happening.” According to him, if it had actually happened, he would have remembered it. “If Justin would’ve did something like that, I probably would’ve looked at him like, ‘Why are you acting like that?’” he says. “If he did that, that would be something that I would remember. That would’ve definitely stuck out. So nah, I don’t remember that happening.”

While it’s possible that Spears simply remembers something that Ginuwine doesn’t, it seems as though her recollection might’ve been incorrect. In the video, Tokischa plays the titular sugar daddy character, complete with a padded bodysuit, fake facial hair, and gold teeth, and treats Sexyy to a shopping spree and fine dining. Red, meanwhile, appears less than engaged — although she is perfetly willing to accept the expensive gifts.

She also meets the real Tokischa sans makeup in the bathroom where they bond over the travails of tricking before heading off to a ball party where Sexyy spits her verse for the appreciation of the gworls. If you didn’t think you’d ever see queens voguing to a Sexyy Red verse, you’ll find that you were wrong, but you won’t be disappointed. Tokischa and Sexyy might have been an unexpected combination, but they’re a match made in heaven.

Tokischa has been slowly but surely establishing a foothold on popular culture stateside thanks to her strategic collabs over the past year or so, which have included Madonna (“Hung Up“), Coi Leray (“Players“), and Kali Uchis (opening for the Red Moon In Venus Tour). Meanwhile, Sexyy Red has easily been one of rap’s biggest it-girls of the year with an appearance on Drake’s new album, a team-up with Latto and Young Nudy, and her breakout project, Hood Hottest Princess.

However, he dips back into rock for his appearance on Netflix’s Leave The World Behind soundtrack.
