Mo’Nique Goes Off on Oprah And Tyler Perry In Fiery Rant

Mo’Nique is using some harsh language to rekindle her years-long feud with Oprah and Tyler Perry by criticizing them once more. She is currently touring with Katt Williams, who, as you may know, set the world on fire, calling out half the entertainment industry on Club Shay Shay. During Williams’s latest stop in his comedy tour, Mo’Nique got up on stage. The comedian and she went on a wild rant against Oprah and Tyler Perry. Her rant was full of a lot of profanity to help give even more context to her visible disdain for the pair. In her wild rant, she referred to Perry and Oprah as”coon motherf*****s.”

Before Mo’Nique got to her rant, she got the crowd to join her in an “F* YOU OPRAH WINFREY, F* YOU TYLER PERRY!!” chant. Some audience members were eager to join in the fun. Others appeared apprehensive at the fire being thrown Oprah’s way, which is why Mo’Nique called out some Oprah admirers in the crowd. She even urged a man in the audience to have sex with her in order to bring Oprah “back to Black.”

Mo’Nique Goes On Wild Tirade Against Oprah And Tyler Perry

At one point, Mo’Nique professes that she does, in fact, have love for Oprah but then immediately calls her “simple-minded” and a “raggedy b***h”. Mo’Nique declares she won’t take back any remarks made on the set. She also, at some point, called in to question the nature of Oprah’s friendship with Gayle King and alluded to their possible romantic involvement. The comedian said, “I’m too motherf***ing old to be scared of this bitch. I’m too old to be intimidated by this bitch. I’m too old to hold the motherf***ing truth.”

Mo’Nique’s hatred and beef with Oprah and Tyler Perry stems from the comedian believing she was blackballed by the powerful Hollywood figures. She claims she was blackballed after she refused to do press for her role in 2009’s Precious. Over the years, the comedian has constantly attacked Oprah and Tyler, accusing them of attempting to ruin her career. On Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast, Mo’Nique claimed to have a damming recording of Tyler Perry admitting to bad-mouthing her. Perry has denied those allegations. Overall, it is a giant mess, and Mo’Nique is dangerous with a microphone in her hand.

Oprah’s Upcoming TV Special Will Address Impact of Weight Loss Drug

Oprah’s Upcoming TV Special Will Address Impact of Weight Loss Drug

Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey is ready to discuss one of the hottest topics in modern medicine—the weight loss drugs that are taking the industry by storm—in her upcoming ABC primetime special, “An Oprah Special: Shame, Blame and the Weight Loss Revolution,” which will air in a couple of weeks.

TMZ reports that the special will address “the impact prescription weight loss drugs are having on society, including herself.”

It’s interesting timing, as this special is being released close to Oprah’s parting ways with Weight Watchers after a long-standing 10-year partnership. This arguably negatively impacted the weight loss company after the revelation that she uses weight loss drugs.

Let’s be real: many media outlets reported she lost an astounding 40 pounds last year alone, much attributed to prescribed medication, although she never said which one she uses.

Get this: Oprah once said the usual suspects in the weight loss drug world, like Ozempic and Mounjaro, were an “easy way out,” but I guess she had a change of heart, even though, again, we don’t know what she used.

Back to the TV special. TMZ reports it will “explore questions and concerns about weight loss medications’ intended uses, side effects and their impacts on people living with obesity and diabetes.” On its face, it feels informative and needed with these drugs being so popular right now.

In a statement, Oprah said, “It is a very personal topic for me and for the hundreds of millions of people impacted around the globe who have for years struggled with weight and obesity.”

She continued “This special will bring together medical experts, leaders in the space and people in the day-to-day struggle to talk about health equity and obesity with the intention to ultimately release the shame, judgment and stigma surrounding weight.”

Maybe she will review what she used to drop the pounds. Stay tuned …

Mo’Nique’s Brother’s Oprah Interview Resurfaces After Actress Admits She Felt Betrayed

Mo’Nique’s recent interview with Shannon Sharpe on Club Shay Shay was jam-packed with revelations. She opened up about being blackballed from the entertainment industry, speaking out against Black icons, being shunned by her peers, and more. At one point in the interview, she reflected on Oprah’s 2010 interview with several of her family members. The interview, which took place only days after she won a Grammy for her role in Precious, revolved around her older brother Gerald, who sexually assaulted her as a child.

According to Mo’Nique, Oprah had called her before having her brother on the show, which she felt grateful for. She recalls telling Oprah that she was okay with Gerald being interviewed, despite not wanting to be involved. She also says that she was never asked about other family members, including her parents and grandparents, appearing on the show. Mo’Nique admits that she was shocked to see them all in commercials later discussing such a traumatic experience for her.

Oprah And Gerald Discuss His Crimes Against Mo’Nique

“I start seeing commercials with my mother and my father, and my other brother who used to be my manager who knew the fear that I had with the brother that was up onstage,” she described. “We never talked about my mother being there. You know how you feel about your grandparents? You know the honor, and how you speak about them? Imagine you then seeing your granddaddy and your grandmamma on a show and they’re talking about somebody that violated you. And that woman didn’t tell you that they were going to be there.”

Now, clips from the interview are also making their rounds online, showing Gerald admitting to his crimes. Mo’Nique Claims Oprah Winfrey & Tyler Perry “Blackballed” Her In Hollywood

Mo’Nique held nothing back while talking about Oprah Winfrey and Tyler Perry on Club Shay Shay. She claimed that the pair were responsible for her getting “blackballed” in Hollywood. The feud and blackballing allegedly dates back to 2009 and 2010, when Mo’Nique refused to do free promotion for Precious and omitted Perry, Winfrey, and director Lee Daniels from her 2010 Oscars speech. Furthermore, Mo’Nique claimed she also has a recording of Perry admitting that he is the one who started the rumor that she is difficult to work with.

Meanwhile, Mo’Nique claimed that Oprah frequently “overstepped”, such as inviting Mo’Nique’s brother and sexual abuser Gerald onto her talk show. Furthermore, Mo’Nique claimed that Oprah had “stolen” at least two film roles from her, both in Lee Daniels movies. Mo’Nique was meant to be play Gloria Gaynes in The Butler and Richard Pryor’s grandmother is a to-be-released biopic but both roles ended up going to Oprah.

Mo’Nique Reveals Who She Wants Shannon Sharpe To Date

However, the interview wasn’t entirely tea. Mo’Nique also revealed the sort of woman she wants to see host Shannon Sharpe date. “Shannon needs needs an old, fat gal. Someone who bakes good cakes. Someone who can make a smothered turkey and rub his feet at the night time. You don’t need no 26-year-old girl. You don’t need no 36-year-old girl. This is your auntie talking to you. Take your ass and go get yourself an old b-tch out there,” Mo’Nique told a very amused Sharpe.

Of course, Sharpe’s dating life is a common topic across his various media ventures. Back in November 2023, Sharpe revealed that he wanted a “sinner” and specifically named adult actress Miss B. Nasty. “I don’t want nobody who is walking the straight and narrow,” Sharpe added as Chad Johnson responded with disappointment. It is certainly a surprising response as Sharpe has always been the sort of guy to shy away from overt sexuality when it is presented to him. Most recently, he appeared unsure as to whether he would support his partner running an OnlyFans account.

Mo’Nique Slams Oprah Amid Taraji P. Henson’s “The Color Purple” Complaints

Taraji P. Henson has been making headlines in recent weeks for raising issues with the way cast members were treated while working on The Color Purple. Countless fans and peers have chimed into the conversation, noting how Black women in the entertainment industry have always been treated unfairly, and undervalued by their white and male counterparts. Amid the discourse, various users have also noted how Mo’Nique raised similar concerns to Henson’s years back, though hers weren’t recognized nearly enough at the time.

During a recent Golden Globes interview, Oprah Winfrey chimed in on the controversy surrounding The Color Purple, which she co-produced. “Everything got handled,” she said of issues on set. “It’s so disturbing to me because why is my name even in this conversation? I’ve been the champion for everybody.” Mo’Nique has now responded to Oprah’s comments, however, and she thinks otherwise.

Mo’Nique Claims Oprah “Didn’t Champion” For The Color Purple Cast

“Everything was, ‘Didn’t I champion for y’all?’ I was like, ‘Stop it. You didn’t champion for those Black women, for our sisters,” Mo’Nique told The Root this week. “What [she] did was, ‘We can treat them like we always treat them, who gon’ check me boo? I’m Oprah Winfrey.’” She went on, noting how the issues raised should have been handled before the women stepped on set. “You know everything should have been done when you showed up…Now when you hear our beautiful sisters saying, ‘yeah but it got fixed,’ it’s like we’re making it worse.”

“So, when Oprah Winfrey sits at the helm and Taraji P. Henson says, ‘It’s an honor that we were hand-picked for this movie,’ Well, if they were hand-picked for that movie, those women should have been taken care of from the moment go.” What do you think of Mo’Nique finally speaking out following Taraji P. Henson’s complaints about working on The Color Purple? Do you agree with her? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.

Taraji P. Henson Recalls Asking Oprah For Food, Dressing Rooms On “The Color Purple” Set

During her interview with Gayle King last month, Taraji P. Henson got emotional while reflecting on being underpaid throughout her career. Her comments have since managed to spark a major discussion about gender and racial disparities in the entertainment industry. Countless social media users and peers have chimed in, including Keke Palmer, Chance The Rapper, Boosie Badazz, and more.

She later shared some of the mistreatment she’s endured as a Black actress in Hollywood in an interview with the New York Times, claiming that the cast of The Color Purple were given rental cars to get to set. “They gave us rental cars, and I was like, ‘I can’t drive myself to set in Atlanta,’” she explained. “This is insurance liability, it’s dangerous. Now they robbing people. What do I look like, taking myself to work by myself in a rental car? So I was like, ‘Can I get a driver or security to take me?’ I’m not asking for the moon. They’re like, ‘Well, if we do it for you, we got to do it for everybody.’ Well, do it for everybody! It’s stuff like that, stuff I shouldn’t have to fight for. I was on the set of Empire fighting for trailers that wasn’t infested with bugs.”

Danielle Brooks Says Henson Was The Cast’s “Voice”

Now, a clip of Danielle Brooks sharing how Henson advocated for her castmates has surfaced, in which she reveals that she had to ask Oprah directly for accommodations. According to her, actors weren’t given private dressing rooms or food on the set of The Color Purple. Eventually, Oprah heard about this and called Henson, who let her know that something needed to be done. From there, the issues were squared away, but it remains shocking that a group of award-winning actors even had to ask.

What do you think of Danielle Brooks opening up about being on the set of The Color Purple? What about her claim that they didn’t have their own dressing rooms or food on set until Oprah caught wind of the situation? Beyoncé And Rihanna Were Considered For ‘The Color Purple,’ According To Oprah, Who Quickly Shut The Notion Down

The Color Purple is one of the most anticipated movies of the year. A cast featuring Danielle Brooks, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, and Fantasia is already promising on its own, but according to Oprah Winfrey, who produced the movie musical and starred in the original 1985 movie, the cast almost looked different.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Oprah revealed that Rihanna and Beyoncé were once considered for the cast, but she felt it more appropriate to give other actors an opportunity to shine.

“To be completely honest about it, if you were doing this film for $30 or $40 million, the interest in the cast would be very different,” Winfrey said. “Once the film moved to $90 to $100 million, then everybody wants us to bring Beyoncé. ‘Can you get Beyoncé or can you get Rihanna?’ So we’re sitting in a room saying, ‘Listen, we love Beyoncé. We love Rihanna, but there are other actors who can do this job.’”

Both Bey and Rihanna have had their hands full this year — Beyoncé with her Renaissance World Tour and film, and Rihanna with her fashion and make-up brands, and the birth of her newborn son. According to Oprah, their stacked schedules were taken into consideration.

“I do remember conversations about, ‘Y’all, Beyoncé is going to be busy this year.’ It wasn’t even a negotiation, because you’re not getting Beyoncé,” said Oprah

Beyhive, Assemble: Halle Bailey Needs Help Figuring Out What The Heck To Get Beyoncé For Christmas

There’s still some time left for holiday shopping, and those of you who haven’t finished that process yet know that some people can be difficult to buy for. Then, there’s Halle Bailey’s to-buy-for list, which features Beyoncé and Oprah. What does one get for two people who can buy essentially anything they’ve ever wanted? That’s the situation Bailey faces right now, and she asked Jimmy Kimmel for some help.

Bailey was a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (December 7) in promotion of her role in The Color Purple, and towards the end of the chat, they talked about Oprah Winfrey (a producer on the movie) and building a relationship with her. Kimmel wondered if Bailey has to buy her a Christmas present, and Bailey responded, “So that’s really hard to think about, because I’ve been thinking about all my Christmas presents I have to give this year, because there’s so many people that have helped me on this journey of this whole year: Beyoncé, now Oprah’s one of them. And it’s so hard to think of: What could you get them? Do you have any ideas? Because I don’t know.”

Kimmel had an idea ready to go quickly, but that speed came at the expense of quality: He responded, “Well, you know, everybody likes a popcorn bucket. Maybe find out what their favorite team is. Beyoncé’s from Houston, maybe get her an Astros popcorn bucket?”

After offering a couple more ideas (fancy pretzels and bath soaps), he asked Bailey how his attempts were landed and she gave a polite, “You know, they’re OK.”

A cruel twist of fate would be Bailey thinking gifts like those are beneath Beyoncé and Oprah, but it turns out they’re used to fancier things and would therefore actually appreciate a change of pace with a more humble present. (Maybe Bailey could find something on one of our 2023 holiday gift guides?)

Check out the interview above.

Taraji P. Henson Admits She Initially Ignored Oprah Winfrey’s Call For “The Color Purple”

Taraji P. Henson says she nearly missed out on hearing about being cast in the upcoming film, The Color Purple, after ignoring Oprah Winfrey’s phone call to break the news. Henson will be playing the character, Shug Avery, in the musical adaptation of Alice Walker’s novel of the same name. Speaking with Essence, Henson explained she’ll “never forget” the day she learned she got the part.

“I saved my recording. I don’t answer calls from numbers that I don’t know, and Oprah’s number comes up unknown,” Henson shared. “Tyler Perry hit me and was like, ‘Are you answering your phone?’ I was like, ‘Why?’ He said, ‘Girl, just answer the phone!’ I’ll never forget the day. I was so nervous. What do you say to Oprah? I was practicing my, ‘Hi! Hello! Yes, Oprah!’ And finally, she came on the phone and told me, ‘Shug Avery is coming to town!’ It was the best moment ever.”

Taraji P. Henson & Oprah Winfrey Promote “The Color Purple”

Henson also revealed she previously shot down being involved in a Broadway adaptation out of fear she “was going to blow out [her] vocal chords.” This time around, she felt she could handle the burden. She explained: “You go in the studio, you sing the song, and then they play it on the set. So you don’t have to really sing full-out. It’s the difference between singing that one time in the studio (and) singing eight nights in a row on Broadway.”

Outside of Henson, the film stars Danielle Brooks, Colman Domingo, Corey Hawkins, H.E.R., Halle Bailey, Phylicia Pearl Mpasi, and Fantasia Barrino. The Color Purple will hit theaters on December 25, 2023. Be on the lookout for further updates on the movie on HotNewHipHop.
